Morgan spent a goodly amount of time explaining to the two the concept of yes. Practically the opposite of no, and because of the fact that they had already been explained the concept of no, they took to it a lot quicker. A good ten minute session was spent where Ryuusei was asking Morgan question after question. Seimei was not asking questions, and instead watched Ryuusei, and even though he tried to look unimpressed and uninterested, Morgan could tell that he was filing away information as well. Morgan was not as intelligent as these fish it would seem, but they were still young and inexperienced. There were plenty of things they knew already, but plenty of things that they did not yet know. Morgan could help with that lapse of knowledge, at least for the basic, human world.
Morgan was not certain why the gold took to the ideas of the human world with such relish; since from what Morgan understood; Tat-lungs often cared about... 'More high' things than the common human ideology. After a while, Morgan was realizing that Ryuusei and Seimei were both responding back to the simple yes and no questions, and Morgan was eventually quite convinced of their understanding of all uses of the 'no' concept, stopping, negative, and wrong.

It was time to get into the water, or at least it would be soon. Morgan had already 'trained' tolerance to a couple of creatures previously, but this would be a lot different. Before getting into the water, Morgan was going to have to explain the reasoning for this aspect of life, but it was also important for the veterinarians to be able to touch the tat-lungs in order to check up on them. This was going to make the training a bit difficult, that was for sure. Morgan stared down into the water of the loch for a moment as they tried to think about what would be the best way to bring this idea to the two tat-lungs. The tat-lungs had already began to argue among one another. Perhaps in the future, Morgan would bring them the tat-chews on these little trips, so that they could play their typical games during the down times where Morgan was trying to think?
"You two, I have another, perhaps more difficult to accept concept that we need to work on." Morgan said. Ryuusei immediately turned to Morgan, since he disliked arguments for the most part, but Seimei was slower to stop and looked at Morgan in an annoyed fashion.

Morgan spoke to both of them equally, despite Seimei's seeming annoyance. Morgan was beginning to figure out that the issues that Seimei often showed were some sort of self-protection mechanism. He was probably just... Scared, it seemed. Often. That made Morgan angry, but they tried not to show it outwardly, pushing it away so that they could keep their voice steady during the conversational part of this lesson. "People often get sick. Whenever they get sick, someone that is knowledgeable about the sickness must figure out what the sickness is and then treat it." Morgan explained, verbally in common and through the ring. "Whenever I get sick, and even if I am not sick, I get checked by one of these knowledgeable individuals. A doctor. I don't like being touched much, but I have to put this aside in order to get checked up." Morgan explained, and then nodded.
"You two can also get sick. Every now and again, I'd like to get a doctor for tat-lung to check you, especially if you feel sick. These doctors only check the best of the best, but I am willing to make sure that you two get checked. But you must be willing to be touched to be checked up on. Only professionally, of course."

Sooner or later, Morgan was planning on explaining the concept of money to the creatures, which would make the concept of the whole veterinarian thing make more sense to these not-quite-yet-dragons, and perhaps make them appreciate the sacrifice a bit better. That would probably make teaching this concept a little easier; since the creatures were probably not going to like being touched too often. However, it was important, of tantamount importance in fact, that they got used to being touched before becoming mature dragon-like individuals. "Do you two understand the concept and importance? I know that being touched is not enjoyable, but when I teach you two how to communicate, the doctor can ask you permission to touch something first, and then you can give them permission, so that you know it is coming." Morgan explained, further. After putting their glasses on the wagon they had used previously, Morgan was ready. Morgan could not see well anymore, but it was time to get into the loch. At that point, Morgan had already been wearing their black swimshirt and swimtrunks, so they bailed off into the loch without further thought.
The bespectacled human was ready to start teaching the creatures to accept touches, and how to properly signal being okay with it.

Morgan waded out in the loch, ignoring the cold, and stared blearily out at the two tat-lungs. Ryuusei appeared closer; and Seimei was little more than a white blob. Morgan was, after all, nearsighted, and it was hard to see too far out. Morgan outstretched a hand, and then stated in both common and with the ring's abilities- "Ryuusei, do you want to practice communication and giving me permission?" Morgan had never went about training this in this manner, but with sentient creatures, it seemed much less icky. Ryuusei moved forward. He was proud, but also understanding. Seimei, on the other hand, stuck back, looking a bit anxious. That was fine; Morgan knew that it was going to be much harder to work with Seimei, anyway. Morgan tried not to think about how angry the scars on his back made them.
Morgan asked Ryuusei, politely, "May I touch your back, Ryuusei?" Then Morgan stated, "If so, you can swim closer, that way I can run my hand on your back." The tat-lung seemed to puff himself up for a moment, as if convincing himself to go through with this. Then, he swam closer, and Morgan gently put their hands across his golden back.

This was literally the first time that Morgan had managed to touch a tat-lung at all, and it was glorious. They felt like fish, of course, but weren't really cold. That surprised the blond human, as they thought that they would be more fish-like in this situation. "Thank you, Ryuusei." Morgan said. "Do you want to check out my arm?" Morgan asked, as the golden not-quite-dragon looked at it curiously. Morgan extended their arm, and allowed the creature to run his whiskers across Morgan's arm. It tickled, and of course Morgan was not used to being touched either, but it was important to make the tat-lung understand that they were also allowed the same liberties that Morgan had, as far as Morgan was concerned.
Afterwards, Morgan nodded to the creature, all while Seimei watched. "Seimei, do you want to try yet?" Morgan held out their arm, knowing that this implied that they should be able to pet Seimei's back as well, if he did. Understandably, he stayed back, watching and looking sullen with his teal eyes. "That is fine Seimei." Morgan said, uncharacteristically gently. Morgan was not used to being so... polite. Ugh.

Morgan knew that soon, they were going to have to work specifically with Seimei, and not just with them both. Ryuusei was confident and vain, of course, but he was sure enough in himself as well as being haughty that he was working well with Morgan's attempts. However, Seimei was both proud and seemed to be sure of himself without being self-confident truly, and that made Morgan's job much more difficult. Morgan had figured that this would be the case, but it had to be done! Despite the heat outside of the midday summer, Morgan was shivering. Their body was small and slim, and didn't carry weight well. They got cold so easily, and the loch was not really helping with that. Ryuusei seemed to notice, and moved forward a bit more. "Don't worry, I am just cold. Humans shiver when cold." Morgan said. "Seimei, you are a powerful individual, you know that. I know that you are not afraid of being hurt, so we need to work on getting you used to at least my contact. If I need to, I will make sure that I am the one doing the examinations, if you would be more comfortable with that." Morgan conveyed and spoke at the same time. "Don't patronize me!" Seimei's sharp reply. "Do I look like I want to be touched?" He seemed to spit. [6]

"I understand, Seimei." Morgan said, giving the creature a modicum of understanding. "However, you have no need to be so defensive. You have all of the control and power here. Some day, very soon might I add, you will be huge and strong. Pearls are one of the biggest types of Tat-lung, you know that? No one will ever be able to touch you without permission again. This exercise is more about you understanding that sometimes, true strength is being confident enough to open up a weakness; but strong enough to be able to close off that weakness if you have to." Ryuusei was watching from the side now, knowing perhaps that trying to butt in would cause more issues in the long run. He mostly felt bad for Seimei, but also knew not to show this.
Seimei looked cross, and glared Morgan down. However, Morgan was, for better or worse, correct. This would not mean that he would give in immediately, though, and Morgan was sure about that. Morgan turned away from him to give him a moment of thought without feeling like he lost, and then asked Ryuusei, "Ryuusei, can I touch your fin?"

Ryuusei swept forward, and allowed Morgan to gently run a hand along his left fin, and then his right. This was going quite well, with him. He understood the concept, and was confident enough to execute it. Seimei, on the other hand, was going to be a nightmare and a half, Morgan knew. Morgan then offered for Ryuusei to check their other arm. "See, humans have two arms, most creatures have four limbs. Humans also have hind legs, we just call them legs. Humans are bipedal; we walk on two legs." Morgan said, allowing the golden tat-lung to learn as he used his whiskers to sense. "Humans wear clothes, they are like... Extra fur, not our fur. We can take them on and off; they help keep us warm." Morgan explained. "They also protect our bodies, since we aren't very durable." Morgan explained.
Ryuusei seemed to be intrigued, at least. Morgan glanced up at Seimei, and saw him much closer, watching Ryuusei as he checked Morgan, looking awfully curious. Soon, he was close enough that Morgan could touch him; but they did not. Trust was an important thing to earn, after all. "Hello Seimei, would you like to check for yourself?" Morgan's shirt sleeve was tantalizingly close, and clothes were an odd concept for Tat-lungs for sure.

Finally, Finally, Seimei moved forward, his scar-mottled white flanks flashing, as if daring anyone to pity him. Morgan held out their arm, and Ryuusei backed up as Seimei moved forward, wrapping his whiskers around Morgan's arm to checked it. This was certainly a win situation for Morgan, the best possible outcome thusfar, and meant that soon, Seimei would be accepting being touched as well, Morgan was sure. This was a bit of a tough subject thusfar, but Morgan was keeping from praising the pearl tat-lung because it could be seen as insulting. In fact, it probably would be considered insulting even if Morgan had been told it in this situation only reversed, and that made Morgan realize that Seimei was, perhaps, quite a bit like theirself. That gave the blond human great pause, surprisingly enough.
"Seimei." Morgan tried, quietly. "May I touch your fins?" First things first, Morgan was NOT going to go for the back right away. Undoubtedly, those old scars were probably quite uncomfortable. Seimei looked... Resigned, and moved toward Morgan, but not defeatedly. Morgan gently touched his left fin, just barely, and then touched his right one as well. Morgan did not say anything afterward, quite purposefully.

Morgan waved Ryuusei over, and grinned conspiratorially, as if to say 'we did it, huh'? At this point, Morgan was beginning to realize that Ryuusei appeared to be rather fond of Seimei, despite Seimei's rather infuriating personality traits and actions. Seimei, on the other hand, was woefully ignorant of this and it was quite obvious. Ah, well, perhaps someday they'd make friends? Morgan didn't really care about that so much, but Morgan knew that they needed to think differently about the two tat-lungs. Not pets, they were dragons. Smart dragons, smarter than people by far. The only way to really fix this flawed thought process was going to have to be to force theirself to start thinking of this differently.
"Ryuusei, may I touch your back?" Morgan asked, knowing that Ryuusei was going to accept, and that Seimei would be super insulted if he didn't do it after Ryuusei was able to do it. After touching Ryuusei's back without any issues, Morgan turned to Seimei. "Seimei, may I touch your back?" The pearl tat-lung looked angry, but moved forward stiffly and starkly, allowing Morgan to touch his back. Morgan's movement was quick but not frightening, and sure, not lingering over any of the scars. At that, Morgan considered the lesson concluded.

Morgan was planning on working on at least one more thing today, but knew that they would need to take a break to wait for the creature that Morgan had paid for someone to bring by. A break shouldn't be too much of an issue at all, it would give Morgan some time to do some additional bonding with the tat-lungs that would certainly be good in the future. Morgan wanted to be decently bonded to these two before they hit mature stage, because they were going to be much more powerful as adults than as fish, that was for certain. They understood things very quickly, already, and Morgan knew that they wouldn't particularly need to be taught too much as an adult, past of course learning how to use the new abilities that their change in form would perhaps provide.
Morgan stood in the cold water of the loch and watched the two tat-lungs, a gold and pearly streak, chasing one another in some kind of complicated game in the loch. It was calming, watching them play like that. Morgan wondered if they would continue doing this, after they grew. Probably not; perhaps Morgan should teach them to play chess eventually?

Morgan had been meaning to ask the tat-lungs some very important things, but wanted to make sure that they had a workable relationship before asking them questions about different things. It could be quite annoying, Morgan knew, being heckled with questions after questions when they were trying to do something else. Plus, Morgan really didn't have any previous experience with tat-lungs primarily, and it was important for Morgan to do this entire thing right before continuing with the more possibly worrying bits and bobs. The two tat-lungs seemed to be having fun, and that was surprising to the human. Morgan had not been sure if the two of them were really getting along or not despite the games, and it seemed that Morgan was beginning to catch on to their relationship a bit better now. They were... Rival-friends? with Ryuusei being much more confident and friendly, and Seimei being much more rival-ry oriented. That made for a complicated and odd friendship.
Morgan was curious, of course, and wanted to study sentience in labs creatures. This was certainly working out from all angles for Morgan; it would seem that they were... Almost like humanoids in some ways mentally. It was absolutely interesting.

Morgan was, perhaps, a little too cold to stay in the loch this entire time. They had been considering going swimming with the two tat-lung for a while, to get them used to adventuring with them, but Morgan's body was... Regrettably a bit weaker than most people's, and had to be catered to. It did not at all help that Morgan had hurt their muscles yesterday trying to teach Michiryuu how to be a mount. Michiryuu was easily the biggest creature that Morgan had ever learned to ride, and it was showing in Morgan's muscles. Earlier that morning, Morgan had taken a dip in the hot springs in order to make their muscles loosen up, but the cold loch had already undid all the help that it gave and more. Morgan hauled theirself from the lock handedly, using their agility a bit more than their strength to make up for the weak body itself; that sort of thing was what caused the painful muscles to begin with.
Neither of the tat-lungs noticed as Morgan sat back up upon the dock, watching the two of them blurrily for a moment before retrieving their glasses. Thankfully, they had not gotten their hair wet, so it wouldn't mess with their glasses much.

Morgan waited until the two tat-lung seemed to get done with their game. Morgan couldn't tell who won that time, but Seimei swam back this way looking a bit frustrated, so Morgan guessed that it was either a tie, or perhaps Seimei lost? Ryuusei didn't seem to have any issues or anything, so Morgan could only speculate. It didn't really matter anyway, did it? Morgan smiled down at them, and noticed Seimei glancing up at Morgan's glasses. Morgan took them off, and brought them closer to the water so that Seimei could see them better. "You two," Morgan conveyed and spoke at the same time. "Does it bother you or hurt to use the travel tanks?" Morgan was unsure if the two had difficulty breathing in the large travel tanks or if they otherwise were uncomfortable; because they were quite a bit smaller than what Morgan would have liked because it was nigh impossible to make them any bigger. Ryuusei seemed contemplative, for a moment, looking at the tanks over Morgan's shoulder on the wagon. "I don't mind for short stints, but I wouldn't want to be there all day." Morgan nodded at him, and Seimei seemed to agree. [4]
