Working, working, working. The pair continued for a long time during the morning, taking periodic breaks and then starting back at it again. Thusfar, the pair has been able to work together to keep anything from actually hitting Shigeru, but Morgan was going to have to get the tat-lung to undergo a bit of a test to make sure that he was really getting it. Perhaps it was Morgan that was behind, and Shigeru actually quite ready for such a test. Morgan was still anxious that they may hurt the young creature, but Shigeru seemed ready. Morgan finally let him know that they were going to start the test, and then started. Morgan grabbed multiple of the bee-bees, three of them at a time, and lobbed them in the direction of the blue dragon-fish, trying half-heartedly to hit him. True to his own conveyance, Shigeru deftly dodged each one, swimming between them without having to truly look at them.

Morgan was pleased at this, at least, and gave him a break before continuing. "Alright, I think you are ready. Let's work on getting this even better." The morning was beginning to warm up a bit, and Morgan wanted to get out of here as soon as possible to work on all of the other things that they needed to work on today that had nothing to do with this. Morgan grabbed a few more bee-bees and began chucking them three at a time in a purposeful way, right where the blue tat-lung was going to be. Shigeru was dodging it incredibly fast, twisting his little body in ways that was quite impressive for such a young tat-lung anyway. Nothing exceptional, but he wasn't getting hit by any of the bee-bees. Morgan stepped it up a notch, throwing them and even leading him a bit to make sure that he was really getting it.

They continued on and on and on as Morgan tossed the bee-bees, leading him a bit in some cases and in some cases learning his patterns and throwing them in the directions he would normally dodge into as well, to really test his ability to get away from danger. Finally, finally Morgan was really trying to hit him, finding theirself trying quite hard to do so. Morgan was pleased with this; it meant that Shigeru was actually getting it as opposed to simply guessing about it. Morgan was pleased at this; he was learning decently quickly. After a long time more of working, Morgan was sure that he managed to learn it, and they took a good long break before working on it yet again to make sure that it had truly been memorized and understood by the tiny tat-lung. Finally, Morgan was pleased by all of the work, and the pair finished up.

Morgan had finally managed to get Shigeru to the point to where they were comfortable feeling like he had gotten it. It had felt like it had taken forever, though. These sorts of things often weighed on Morgan's ability to have patience, but it was an important skill to begin having, that was for sure. "Alrighty Shigeru, I think you got it! Good job." Morgan praised, quite proud of him in all honesty. He was still so young, and he'd already learned all the stuff that Ryuusei and Seimei had managed to get learned just before actually maturing. Perhaps it was because Morgan was able to teach him from a much younger age than the other two had been, or perhaps it was because Morgan was able to work with him with a bit more experience. Either way, the two were quite happy with the progress that was made today.

Morgan knew that it was time for them to get home so that Shigeru could be fed and so that Morgan could actually go do all of the other half-a-billion things they needed to do today. It had been a real slog and Morgan was feeling a bit negative about training as of late, but they could do it. The real tough issue was going to be Waar, of course, but he was on the back burner until the Tat-lungs were ready to be finished up. At least Ryuusei needed to be taught to fly. Morgan had promised that they would teach him how to do that as soon as possible, so it was now that would need to work on it. "Alright Shigeru, it was time to go on." Morgan said, helping him up out of the water gently and into the travel tank. "We can stop by that shop and pick you up something on the way home." Morgan said.

This would probably be the last thing that Morgan was going to work on with Shigeru for a long while. He'd be on the backburner, as well, since Waar was in such need of going over things, being all forgetful it would seem. That got Morgan thinking, as the pair exited the dock. The travel tank was something that was a godsend for these sorts of small waterbound creatures, though now Domino probably wouldn't fit in it all that well. Morgan was going to have to think of something else for her, now. That was concerning. The human thought a lot as they walked down the boardwalk, Shigeru seeming tired but quite happy. Morgan did keep their word and stop by the shop on the boardwalk to pick him up some treats, as well as an ice cream cone for Morgan. Then the pair went home snacking. It was a good day, so far.

Morgan wasn't going to start this training until Shigeru was all matured, but seeing as Dynasty tat-lung hadn't matured yet and may not ever, Morgan wanted to work with him as much as possible until it wasn't possible to work with him on anything else. Starting off, Morgan was just going to teach him two things today; Swimming and Landing. They figured that if he knew these two signals before growing up, that it could be worked on just a little bit and then called good whenever that happened, if it ever did. They took him to the docks straight from the mansion, ready to get him taught these two things so that they could hit home. "Alrighty, upsie-daisy Shigeru." Morgan said, using their tool to quickly get him into their small area of the loch. "There you go. We've got two things to work on today." Morgan stated in triplicate.

Shigeru had already been out today some, so he was starting to get a little tired. However, he had a lot of energy when it came to learning, so he didn't mind that they were out to learn today. He was a bit envious of his older 'brothers' for already being able to fly and such, and though he knew he couldn't do that, Shigeru really wanted to learn as much as he could. "Alrighty, today let's work on a signal for you to come to land. Now when you're able to fly, that means to come to the ground. I'll teach you more about that then. But right now, I need you to come to the shore whenever the signal is made, just in case, okay?" Morgan preferred to explain these things to the tats instead of actually working with them like other creatures. They were hyper smart, after all!

Morgan then showed Shigeru the whistle command that they were going to be using, and then smiled. "That's the 'come to land' signal, okay?" Morgan said. Shigeru understood, and gave a quick 'sure' over before Morgan nodded to him. "Alrighty, you know that we've got to do a ton of practice. I'll go over to the land and then give the signal, okay?" At that, Morgan moved over to the land from the dock, so that Shigeru could come towards the land. Morgan gave the signal using the whistle, the one they used for all of their tat-lungs to land, and then Shigeru moved over to the land easily. Morgan gave him some praise, and then moved over to the dock. "Remember to always go to land, okay? Not the dock." At this, they gave the command again, and Shigeru moved back over to the land yet again instead of the dock.

The so-called training of tat-lungs was almost as difficult as working with species with less intelligence sometimes, and it was mostly because they learned so quickly that Morgan's instincts told them to beat the things being learned into the ground, just half to death. It was probably annoying to the tat-lungs, no, scratch that, it was definitely annoying to the tat-lungs. It was also annoying to Morgan, but it had to be done whether anyone actually wanted to do it or not. Plus, Morgan enjoyed spending the time with them, so they guessed that it wasn't a total loss. The more time, the more trust in the long run.
"Great job, Shigeru. Let's keep that up." Morgan watched as Shigeru swam around in circles, and then Morgan gave him the whistled signal to go to the land and SWOOSH he went straight to the land like a finned rocket.

Well, at least he was being interesting. Just a bit more repetition, and they could move on to the last... Probably really boring thing that Shigeru would need to be trained. "Good job Shigeru, just a few more times, okay boyo?" Morgan was starting to develop an annoying verbal tic here, it would seem. Morgan gave the signal again for him to come to land, and he did so. Shigeru was of course praised for this as he always was, and then Morgan gave the signal again. He went to the land again, and then Morgan gave him praise again. Morgan then gave the whistled command again, and again, and again, each time Shigeru swam to the land as he was beckoned to. He obviously knew it now, probably knew it about fifteen minutes ago, so Morgan decided to move on to the next painfully obvious feeling thing... For a fish.

Ah, last thing for today. Swim, swim, swim. Required for tat-lungs, even though they spend quite a chunk of their life living in the water as an actual fish. Ah, well. Morgan was willing to do it, even if it was a lot of work that wasn't strictly required for them. They needed their tat-lungs to be as knowledgeable as possible, and this was part of that. All of the menial things were important. "Alrighty Shigeru, this one is going to sound so dumb to you, but I want you to know that I usually work with adult tat-lungs on it, so you're a little early for it. Way ahead of your time kiddo." Morgan said, grinning at him. Shigeru seemed excited about getting taught something ahead of time, no matter what it was. Morgan felt a little embarrassed about taking advantage of how excited he was... about being taught swimming.

It was time to tell him, and Morgan had to steel theirself for the inevitable disappointment in his face. "Shigeru, the first couple of things on the newly-matured list for tat-lungs in my little tat-lung school, is Land, like you just did, and Swim." Morgan waited, and watched as almost in slow motion, Shigeru drooped. Yeah, Morgan thought that it would happen like that. "But don't worry, I'll probably be working with you on the other things on the newly-matured list before you've matured, all things considered. I'll let you know closer to time. But still- I worked with Seimei and Ryuusei with these two JUST recently. You'll have a leg up on them!" Morgan grinned, and it was infectious. Shigeru couldn't help but perk up. "Same thing as usual, I'll give you the signal, and you just... Swim out, you know?" Morgan waved their hands afterward for emphasis.

Shigeru was of course quite okay with that. Morgan, well, Morgan didn't really want to do this again, but hey, at least it would be done afterwards, right? Shigeru wouldn't probably need to be 'trained' it again, if they were lucky. "Alrighty, Shigeru this is the signal-" Morgan blew the same command that they used with all of the other tat-lungs for swim, and even Domino previously. They were getting quite good at it! Shigeru took off for emphasis, swimming out pretty far from the dock. Of course he knew how to swim, he same constantly, that was the only locomotion that he knew how to do yet! Being a fish was like that. "Great job Shigeru." At that, Morgan gave him the signal to come to land, which he did, and then the signal for swimming. It was much easier when the creature didn't necessarily have to learn how to swim.

Yet, it was much more difficult in other ways. Mostly in the patience department. It was all repetition from here, and there was no way that Shigeru was going to forget his signals. He, like all tat-lungs, committed them to memory very easily. It was even a little more difficult with the other fish, Domino, because she hadn't been hyper-sentient, just human-like intelligence, which required a normal amount of repetition for the most part. But when it came to tat-lungs, it felt like they were beating the equillion with the stick when it was already dead, so to speak. Still, Morgan had to do it!
Morgan gave the signal to swim, and of course the tat-lung did it with ease. At this, Morgan would give him the signal to go to land, and he did that with ease as well. Then they would repeat these two again, and again, and again. Repeatedly.
