Going down again seemed to allow Waar time to catch his breath, and he seemed to be growing in enjoyment of doing this. He flapped his wings a little, nearly lifting himself off of the ground thanks to the wind filling up his leathery wings, and of course because they had already worked on a flight a little bit before. Morgan didn't want to tire him out by doing this kind of training with flying quite yet; running was better for him right now. Morgan wasn't even sure if he remembered the training; they were going to have to check it back out when they got back to the park yet again. Morgan wanted to make sure that the creature would be taken care of before trying that again, but they noted it anyway. "Good job boyo, just to the top of this hillock here..." And then the pair started the ascent to the top of that hillock instead.

It wasn't going to be long now before they were going to have to go home. Morgan knew that, they had only a few more minutes left, but they wanted to make the most out of this as possible. The pair continued to jog up the hillock, with Waar nearly slipping a few times on the way up. He was quite stiff still, Morgan could tell. Yes, this was going to take so many more sessions. Morgan was willing to do it, however. Once at the top of the hillock, Morgan stopped, huffing just a little bit. The drake laid down, however, the sizzling acid pushed against the ground and causing the grass to flatten under the weight and the added caustic effect. The drake stretched out his wings a bit and flapped them, but they still looked quite stiff like they had earlier. Yeah, this was going to take a lot more work, Morgan could tell.

Waar looked pretty exhausted, but Morgan was sure that they should push just a bit past this exhaustion. It would probably be an excellent idea to get him to work harder. He'd probably be sore for a few days; if he even felt pain properly anymore? The bespectacled human really had no idea. "Alright Waar, here, take this water." Morgan went over and picked up their backpack from nearby, digging through it until they found the power water. They brought the water over to the creature and immediately opened it up. Waar looked at Morgan and tilted his head lightly, wondering curiously about what was going on and what he should do. Morgan was unsure how to get him to open his mouth, as he hadn't been taught to do such a thing. "Okay boyo, here." Morgan said, before opening the cap and weaseling it into his jaw a bit.

Waar finally seemed to 'get it' at least for the second, and opened his mouth, lapping at the power water. He wasn't exactly very good at it, and the bottle wasn't fairing too well when it came to the caustic 'blood' that Waar secreted from his flesh. At least it tended not to drip too much... "Good job boyo, you've got it." Morgan said, before wiping the emptied plastic bottle onto the grass carefully to remove any of the rest of the caustic mess, and then they wrapped it up and placed it into the backpack carefully. "Alrighty, we need to keep on trucking. You have a bit more in you, boyo?" Morgan had no idea why they talked to him like this, but it did seem to help him grow more closely to Morgan. Waar laid his head back down, and snorted out a bit of a breath. At that, the human shook their head, smiling softly.

After a moment's catching breath for Waar, Morgan picked up their backpack and put it on their back carefully. It would be a good idea to race the creature to the front building, Morgan thought. They didn't have any more time today, besides, Waar was really, really stiff right now. About like a moving corpse, and Morgan felt quite bad about pushing him too hard today. "Alrighty Boyo, let's go." Morgan said, grinning. Then they brought the whistle to their lips and gave the command for him to follow. Already, Waar was making a bit of a face, wanting to lay down a bit more but also knowing that he needed to heed the command that he had known from before. Morgan jogged much more slowly this time, making their way down the hillock with Waar in tow, nearly stumbling over his own feet due to being so tired. Ah, well, at least in the future they had something that they had started working on, right?

The pair made it all the way down the hillock despite Waar's relatively clumsy movements. Morgan was no worse for wear, but Waar was certainly having a bit of an issue. "What is wrong, boyo? Are you not going to make it?" Morgan said, tilting their head and coming to a bit of a stop. They felt like something was up with Waar, but wasn't a hundred percent sure what it was. They walked over close to him, acid gloves still on, to check him out. Waar was holding a foot up carefully, thick black claws and white bright knuckles showing right in front of them. "Did you hurt your foot? Heck, can you even hurt your foot at all, boyo?" Morgan had no idea at this point, they knew that he didn't have any muscles on the bone there. He was sure acting like it was hurt though... Morgan decided to slowly walk him to the front building to check out. Morgan would check his leg a bit later.

Waar still didn't completely understand common, but he was able to communicate using his collar quite well. The experiment had turned out quite well, in fact. Waar had not run off once he was introduced to the charm, and once the collar was put around his neck, he began to be able to communicate shortly at first, his desires and questions. Morgan still couldn't exactly get him to understand the speech all that well, but he was slowly picking things up as they went along. He'd always been pretty decent at figuring out what Morgan wanted, thankfully, and this didn't change much. The newly witty Waar and Morgan made their way to the training gym and then out to the dexterity outdoor training area. Morgan wanted to continue his physical therapy and work on his agility, since the poor creature was still suffering from stiffness after his ordeal. Someday, Morgan hoped to be able to talk to him about what had happened. He was already asking about it sporadically. [26] - [169 Words]

Once they got to the little hillocks they had worked on before, Waar flapped his wings a few times in the breeze. Then he turns to Morgan, head tilted as he had began to pick up from the bespectacled human's own mannerisms. "We are going to run again." He said through the collar, dry as a bone. "Yup, you're going to run again." Morgan said, emphasizing the 'yup' and the 'you'. Waar didn't understand this, but he would probably pick up bits and bobs eventually. "We need to loosen you up first." Morgan said, moving forward with gloved hands. Waar sniffs at them, and then raises his wings again, head held high. "Come on Waar, let me get at them shoulders." The human said, raising up to grab at the shoulder muscles. "We don't like that." He says, through the collar. "I know, but you've got to do it anyway, boyo."[27] - [159 Words]

After a bit of back and forthing between the two verbally, where it was quite obvious that Waar didn't understand Morgan too well, but he was able to 'speak' his mind through the collar, which was surprising him, Morgan was able to finally get a good grasp on his shoulder muscles to begin working them out. "We've got to do this, Waar. You're too stiff after that process, and you need to loosen your muscles. You need to be a little faster." Morgan was still a little upset that this happened to the creature, and that this was Morgan's fault. Thankfully, the gloves allowed Morgan to still touch him, but he was basically a walking disaster waiting to happen for the human now. Morgan was, after all, really easily made sick. Morgan had been frail since birth, according to their father, and now they had a walking chemical factory as a charge. The human sighed, but kept at the shoulder 'massage'.

The human knew that they really had their work cut out for them. Waar was not getting any less stiff, they could tell from last time, but at least Morgan was glad that he could run a bit more now. That was progress, even if it had been training progress and not necessarily mobility progress at this point. He would never be as fast as other sarane, and that was a huge detriment. In fact, Morgan would say that dexterity is the most IMPORTANT thing in battling. Thank goodness that Morgan wasn't planning on entering any pit fights with him soon, anyway. That was lucky, at least. Morgan finished up the shoulder massage, and then patted him on the mottled back. "How are you doing, boyo?" Morgan asked, head tilted slightly to see his face. He looked pretty freaking terrifying, as always. Morgan had a hard time getting a read on him since his face was, well, you know, missing all the flesh.

Morgan could only really do so much as a person, anyway. It was still sad to Morgan that this had even happened, they felt so guilty. Was it normal to feel this much guilt over something like this? It had cost Morgan a very pretty penny to revive him, and that's how one showed dedication right? Sacrifices? Money was hardly anything to Morgan, though, and they felt pretty bad about the entire thing anyway. Waar wouldn't understand that concept, at least not yet anyway, but Morgan hoped someday to be able to explain his situation to him. Morgan moved over to his neck and put the gloves on his neck. "Alrighty, now the neck boyo." Waar turned towards Morgan and huffed, and Morgan knew that he had to be doing it on purpose because he didn't really breathe much anymore unless he 'remembered' to, but Morgan just playfully pushed his side. "You're fine boyo, quit being a ham."

For a little while, Morgan moved over to press a bit on another of his muscles, this time in the shoulder muscles around his neck. Waar just balked for a moment, pushing his skelly nose into Morgan's palm. 'We... Ham?' That was what Morgan was looking for, right there. Waar didn't understand much of anything, and wouldn't for a long time, but he was able to speak his own mind. 'Not know Ham.' He said, simply, perhaps not really realizing that he was speaking through his collar or speaking at all, or even that Morgan could probably even hear him. "Don't know ham, huh? Maybe I'll tell you sometime, Waar." Morgan said, continuing with the pre-workout massage, trying to work the kinks out of his admittedly stiff frame. 'We... Waar...' Waar said, and then turned away. "Yup, You're Waar boyo." Morgan said, not really sure if this would go anywhere really, he probably didn't even understand it.

It was at that point that Morgan, despite Waar not having any flesh on his face, could almost FEEL Waar suddenly understand that it was possible that the noises that Morgan was making, and the ones his collar were making might have meant something. He turns to look at Morgan and tilts his head. Morgan stands on top of that little hillock with the wind whipping their labcoat tail around. "Yeah Waar, we're talking, aren't we? You don't know what I'm saying yet, but you'll get it eventually I think." Morgan said, making conversation with him like they would have with one of the tat-lungs. Waar tilted his head and almost 'squinted', or at least that was what Morgan felt like he was doing. He seemed anxious for a moment, and finally a voice wavered out from the collar. "We... Waar... No..." Was all he seemed to be able to get out. He shook his head. "Not understanding this." Came out, clear as day, as if it was just relaying what he was thinking, instead of him actually trying.

It was easy for Morgan to tell that Waar still didn't completely know what was going on, and he didn't know how to 'use' the collar either. He seemed to understand a bit here and there, but he couldn't quite get his 'voice' through it on purpose. It was more translating his idle thoughts every now and again, since he was intelligent and all. "Well, Waar, you'll understand soon enough. You're doing great." Morgan continued to massage his neck and shoulder on this side, and then pushed on over to the other side without any issues at all. "You're doing so good Waar, tolerating so well." Morgan had trained him to tolerate them as a young baby, and it seemed to have stuck through growth, breaking, and uh, death. Even though that had been temporary, yeah. Morgan still felt pretty bad about that, but they tried not to focus on this too much.

After Morgan was finally done with the wringing out of his worn and torn muscles, they stood back, surveying their work. Thankful for the gloves, Morgan nodded to him. "Alrighty Waar, we're gonna start soon." Morgan said, looking out over the area for anything that might be dangerous to do that around. When nothing was found, Morgan took a few more steps back, and shedded the gloves for now. "Run?" Waar pushed through the collar, and it seemed purposeful and deliberate. "Yeah, you're gonna run boyo. Then you're gonna fly a bit. It's gonna take us a while, though." They said, contemplating. Morgan lifted the whistle to their lips and then used their other arm to gesture towards that direction before blowing the command for dash. Waar had been excited and ready for this, he immediately turned towards the hillock's edge and started running down it. Morgan kept giving the command for dash, and he weaved.
