Morgan was with Seimei at the park the day after they had went to the Mansion. Morgan had been planning on teaching all of the tat-lungs to fly one by one, but the Training Guild was challenging folks to train a creature that can fly to fly this month. That meant that Morgan needed to teach Seimei sooner rather than later, since he was the only tat-lung that was matured right now. "Alright Seimei, I guess you are wondering why we are here today." Normally Morgan would wait a moment, but it was really important to get this done as soon as possible. Seimei flicked his tail. 'And here I thought we were going for a walk.' He snarked. Morgan ignored it with purposeful aplomb! "No walk today my friend; you are going to learn to fly today." They said, practically buzzing with electrical excitement. Seimei just looked... Confused.

'...Fly, huh? So I can fly.' He conveyed across the ring to Morgan. "Yes. All tat-lung can fly once they hey maturity, and it is your turn to learn. You first, out of the tat-lung at the mansion. What do you think of that?" Morgan was doing the whole triplicate thing, with common, LSL, and through the ring at the same time. Eventually, he would be taught to do LSL too, but Morgan thought he would love to learn how to fly, first. "You already knew that, I talked to you about it y'know." Morgan scolded, playfully. Seimei gave a shrug; something he'd picked up from Morgan already. "It'll be easy for you, all you have to do as a tat-lung is WANT to fly. Other critters have to flap wings, but you just get to deny physics. Such is life for dragons." Morgan mused, and then nodded to him. "So, let's try that first, okay? Then we'll come up with a code whistle for it just in case something happens." That was the way that Morgan had to bring things up to keep the peace when teaching the tat-lungs.

'Okay, so, I can fly, and I have no wings. So your oh-so-genius plan is to... Want to fly. Sounds like a plan.' The pearl tat-lung conveyed, sarcasm perhaps having replaced every molecule of his being at this point. Morgan frowned. "Of course, you became a dragon, right? And you were a fish. Supposedly, tat-lungs do that because they 'want to fly'. So, you've got to want to." The voice was pretty flat. So that was that, huh? "So like, I dunno, look at the sky or something, and then... Jump?" Morgan asked, realizing that they sounded like an idiot. Thankfully, no one was around to hear Morgan being all 'faerie-tale' like. Morgan believed that there was a science-y aspect to this process; perhaps it was a reflex of the tat-lung to fill an air bladder for flight after metamorphosis or something. Seimei very obviously did not want to do this; but he did look up at the sky and sigh. 'Alright. Whatever.' Seimei retorted. He looked up at the sky, obviously not really believe it, and performed a little... Hop. [3]

The hop was admittedly a little lackluster; but even Morgan could tell that his large body dropped back to the ground a little too... Slowly, to be truly that big. Seimei, of course, looked annoyed. 'I tried, lets go home.' He said, and then turned around. Morgan frowned. "Nope, nope, nope. You noticed it too, right? You fell a little too slowly there. You know I'm right. Come on, let's really try this, Seimei." Morgan said, asking just this shy of respectfully. Just a tad of a command, there, and Seimei caught it. He turned his head, facial expression unreadable. However, he seemed to sigh out a long breath. 'Okay, okay, fine. But not because you want me to.' He said. Morgan nodded at that. "Now come on, you know you can do it Seimei." Morgan coaxed in triplicate, in common, LSL, and through the ring. "Just... Go to the sky." Morgan said. "As soon as we see you do it, we can talk about a signal for it, in case anything happens." Morgan repeated.

Of course, Seimei was going to be difficult this go around. He'd been doing so well lately, too. Some days were worse than others, Morgan had noted, for both of them separately of course. However, Seimei seemed to realize now that Morgan was not going to let this go now, even if he did go back to the Mansion, so he simply dropped the idea, and instead focused on the sky. He knew he could fly. All tat-lungs did. He hadn't tried yet; perhaps he hadn't felt quite ready to, since he still hadn't felt... Whole really, after growth. He glances over his back for just a moment, looking at all of the scars across him. Then, he turns back to the sky again, and focuses. Truly focuses now. Then, he felt his feet leaving the ground, felt his claws leave the grass. He doesn't look back to the ground, not for a long time.
Morgan couldn't believe what they were seeing at first; it seemed so effortless. Tat-lung were truly amazing beings; able to fly with such ease. Why hadn't Seimei done this before really?

Morgan finally grinned, truly grinned, and raised their hands up in the air. "Seimei, Seimei you did it! You're flying!" Morgan couldn't help but woop at this, of course it was exciting. Like watching a baby bird with a broken wing finally fly. A bit heartbreaking, perhaps, but also exciting. Of course, nothing would really stop Seimei from flying away at this point, so Morgan was actually a bit surprised to see him twist and turn in the air; playing instead of going away. He was... Really pretty actually. It was nice to see something that Morgan had helped to grow become such a magnificent creature. Morgan decided to allow him to have some fun and do some practice before actually having to deal with a whistle signal for this thing. It was so nice to watch anyway.
Morgan sat down to watch, and didn't look away for about thirty minutes. He was just so awesome.

Finally, after a lot of learning how to maneuver, Seimei looked like he was going to learn to land. Morgan watched as he dove a bit too steeply, and hit the ground with a force that had to be rough on his joints. "Goodness, Seimei, what are you trying to do, blow out your knees?" Morgan said, aghast. 'I don't really have knees like yours.' He countered, but he was still wincing. Of course he'd hurt himself this quick, the mess. "You know you're going to need to practice that now, the whole landing thing. You don't have to adjust to land like other things that fly with wings. You can probably just decide to land gracefully, and land pretty well." Morgan said, once again entering that 'teacher mode'. Seimei took a moment to test all of his limbs, and then moved into the air pretty quickly. Morgan watched him twist, and turn, and then come toward the ground; this time stopping short and just kind of... Touching the ground. Perfect the second time; as was usual for Seimei.

Finally, Morgan thought. Now we can just work on a signal. "So, that was really good Seimei. What do you think we should come up with for a signal for it?" They offered. Seimei huffed a bit at the bespectacled human. 'Does everything have to have a signal?' He asked. He would choose when he was going to fly, after all. "Yes, it would be best if we could signal each other from far off. In example, the 'come' signal could mean just 'come home whenever' if you are asked to do it. But if I combine 'fly' and 'come' that could mean 'come fast, preferably by flying?'" Morgan added. Seimei had to admit, that was a good idea that he was too busy thinking about other stuff to really have cared about it enough to have come up with it. "Alright, so, how about this one?" Morgan chose a quick three-burst tone of a whistle. It was different enough from everything else, they figured.

Morgan didn't want to admit it; but they would certainly need the tat-lungs far more than they would ever need them in most cases. However, they weren't about to tip their hand of that; Morgan needed some land to stand on when it came to dealing with such regal and intelligent beings, and they hardly had that. However, Morgan wanted to spend as much time with them as possible to make sure that they would want to stay around them. "I know you don't want to, but lets practice it, and then we can go home." Morgan knew that Seimei really didn't want to be out long today, so they figured it was a good choice. Seimei relented, if only because he knew that this was the easiest way to get Morgan to finally take him home.
They spent the next little while practicing, with Seimei going into the sky whenever the correct signal was given, and then of course not doing so whenever a wrong one was given. Tat-lungs are intelligent, after all, and Seimei at least tended not to have issues with such things.

After a while, Morgan was sure that Seimei got it. Of course, the repetition aspect of training was important to all training, even the 'training' that was more like 'teaching' for a creature like the tat-lungs. Morgan hated referring to it as training, but it had to be done this way. After all of that repetition, Seimei was just even more upset, especially with all of that 'pointless' (according to him anyway) repetition. Now that Morgan was sure that he got it, they could go home. Of course, Morgan was not quite expecting it when it happened, but they were not surprised when Seimei left them there to rot while he flew off to get home way before Morgan could. Ah well, it worked.
Morgan walked home by theirself, enjoying the scenery. Maybe they would pick up something nice for a personal dinner later? They'd drop by the butcher on the way home. There was a really nice one on this side of town, anyway.

Morgan had just yesterday worked on flight with Seimei, and he was picking it up super easily now. The story was supposedly that tat-lungs wanted to fly as fish so badly that they simply take on a form that allowed them to fly as far as they wish. Morgan... Didn't believe a lick of that. However, Dragons were something that Morgan loved more than anything else as a child, the stories, the concept, anyway. Now that they had a chance to work with them, they were excited to be able to do so. Today, they had a bit of a treat for Seimei, who was slowly beginning to grow used to his new form, and was gaining a bit of peace in his life as time went on. They made their way to a certain area in the park, and Morgan watched as Seimei flew, teaching himself the ins and outs of the entire thing while they waited.

Morgan wanted to make sure that Seimei learned preferably two things today; the first was how to land. The next was of course not to be afraid of 'scary' creatures. Morgan also thought that him having seen a scary creature previously might actually help when it came time to teach him how to move in a way befitting of a dragon; that 'scary' manner than tended to work quite well for critters. Morgan was waiting for the individual with the 'scary' equillion to come over to the area agreed about. Not long after they arrived, Morgan could hear the equillion's split hooves hitting the footpath. Morgan called for the tat-lung to come to them, and he made quite a sloppy landing. Yeah, they were going to have to work on that later, that was for sure. "Alright Seimei, there's someone I'd like you to meet. They're gonna be very scary, but you need to learn not to be afraid of things." Morgan conveyed, in triplicate as per usual.

Seimei looked quite annoyed at this, tilting his head and even producing a sound with his mouth that sounded quite a bit like 'tch'. Morgan shook their head, and then let out a soft sigh. Slight exasperation, just slightly coiling, it would seem, rolled off of them. Seimei was a lot like Morgan in some ways, in all of the worst ways actually, and Morgan tried to deal with it the best they could. Soon, the 'scary' equillion got there, and was standing there, pawing the ground and snorting. Seimei was trying overly hard to look brave; he hadn't really been near anything that was scary like this, before. "Told you he was going to be scary." Morgan signed, spoke, and translated through the ring. Hopefully, after all of this work, they would slowly start picking up LSL, but of course it would take extra training as well... For now, Seimei was silently focused on the strange equillion and the human with them.

Morgan stayed stood back. "Come on now, you need to try to move. You need to learn to disregard frightening creatures just in case you have to fight one, someday." Morgan explained in the triplicate manner they tended to do with the Tat-lungs. Practiced, getting better and better at it all the time. For a few minutes, Seimei looked stiff, his legs held taut, his muscles tight. Morgan frowned, wondering why it was taking a dragon much longer to learn not to be afraid of things than had their dog, but then Morgan realized; Seimei was smarter, and that meant more thoughts. He was overthinking this, wasn't he? "Come on Seimei, you can do it, move on." Seimei snorted, and stiffly moved a single leg. After about a beat, another leg was stiffly moved. Morgan was very pleased, and perhaps because Seimei could pick up on Morgan's emotions, he began moving forward, slowly, but much less stiffly.
