Now it was all about practice, since the tat-lung had finally figured it out. They still had a couple of hours set aside for this purpose, but Morgan really wanted to get it done as soon as possible. For thirty minutes, Seimei terrified both live grubbles and Morgan alike, forcing Morgan's limbs to be stiff and their muscles to shake. It was a real shame that this sort of thing worked on people so well too! Finally, Morgan was sure that he had gotten the intimidating thing down. "Alrighty Seimei, you've got it! This is perfect, no one will mess with you now that isn't prepared for a fight. Some day, we'll work on your self protection. For now, we'll go home. Soon, we'll work on teaching you your intellectual pursuits, since those are the most important." At that, the two went home, both pleased with the progress and relieved.

Morgan stopped at the house with Ryuusei after their trip to the mansion, and then just as they had promised they brought the tat-lung over to the park. They needed to work on the same thing that Morgan had worked with Seimei on just the day before, namely the swimming thing that he should already know how to do by all rights, but instead of the whole intimidation thing, which Ryuusei already had, they were going to work on the 'not being scared of intimidating things' training. That was a mouthful, if only there was a shorter way of saying that!
They stood near the brook quietly, enjoying not being in any particular danger. However, they needed to get the show on the road, and get it on the road fast. "Alright Ryuusei, we need to work on your swimming skills as a mature tat-lung. To make sure that you can still swim and all."

Ryuusei was not near as aggravated at Morgan over having to re-hash something he obviously knew how to do already, but he was pretty confused. 'Do tat-lung forget how to swim when they mature?' It would seem that he hadn't been in anything not-shallow recently. "No no, you probably didn't forget, but we need a signal word for it just in case, and I need to make sure that you know how to peddle your limbs, since that is different than fins and all." Morgan felt a lot less judged with Ryuusei than they often did with Seimei. Ryuusei seemed to see the wisdom, no matter how low, of this, and he turned to Morgan. 'What is the signal then?' He asked. He always had been the one out of the tat-lungs that took to the signal system the easiest. "This is the one we'll use." Morgan said, and then they blew the same whistle command that they used for swim with every creature. [2]

Ryuusei committed this to memory as quickly as any other tat-lung should; they were intelligent creatures above all else, more so than humans. Morgan could almost see it in his bright eyes. "Alright Ryuusei, when this signal is given, go ahead and get into the water. You should be fine I am sure." Morgan didn't mean to be patronizing perhaps, however they often felt like a parent or something to these tat-lungs. Thankfully, Ryuusei was the least annoyed by this. 'I'm ready.' He said, shaking his body over like a dog trying to remove water, only to Morgan they could tell it was his energy and readiness. Morgan just nodded, and used the whistle to produce the signal required. Ryuusei wasn't shy about swimming, or slow in his quick near canon-ball into the brook. Morgan had to back up a few steps to avoid being splashed- they chuckled at his boisterousness. [3]

Morgan watched as Ryuusei quickly corrected and then swam upwards. He swam with a simple side-to-side and peddling motion, alternating them all in precise strokes. It would seem that he took to it much more easily than the pearl, but Morgan would never tell Seimei that. The poor creature was already very easily wounded emotionally, and always acted like he had something to prove. Ryuusei did seem to have trouble taking turns at first. Morgan let him swim around for a bit, and then nodded. "When I give the signal for land that we worked on the other day, feel free to come back to land while swimming just like you would while flying." Morgan said, in triplicate as per usual. Ryuusei gave an indication of understanding, and then gave him the signal to land. He quickly came to land and emerged from the water with grace, his shaking off water as he went.

Morgan chuckled a bit at the fact that he was shedding water everywhere, once again a bit like a dog. But tat-lung were not dogs, or cats, or snakes. They were tat-lungs, and to a lesser extent, dragons. Things just reminded Morgan of these things, every once in a while. "Good job Ryuusei, we'll have to practice it a few times, though. Just to make sure and all." Morgan always hated this part, and really so did all of their creatures. Perhaps they were just projecting, but they often felt like they could see it in their eyes and movements. Morgan quickly whistled the command, and into the water Ryuusei went, much more practicedly and much better on the turns this time. They repeated getting him in and out of the water for some time, until finally Morgan felt like he had indeed learned the signal, and how to better swim, even though he never forgot.

It was just as good that they finished now, since Morgan could hear the clip-clopping of the hooves from the equillion of the individual that Morgan had hired for just this purpose. They had asked him to come by on his rounds with his 'scary' equillion to help for training their creatures how to deal with the intimidating aura that some creatures put off, specifically for self-defense purposes. Morgan greeted the individual, but Ryuusei couldn't keep his eyes off of the creature, or his body from being stiff with anxiety that was generally caused by these intimidating beasts. Afterwards, Morgan handed over the credits that was required for these regular visits, and then turned to Ryuusei. "Don't attack the equillion. This is another lesson. You have to learn how to not react with stiffness and perhaps even fear to creatures that have this, for self defense." Perhaps it was ironic that he reacted this way to another with it when he also had that intimidating feel about him.

Morgan watched as Ryuusei grew just a tad indigent, though compared to Seimei's regular issues it was nothing. 'I am NOT afraid.' He pouted, looking like a spoiled prince. "You're right, you aren't afraid. You shouldn't be, you are a great dragon. No, but it is effecting you. That intimidating aura." That couldn't be argued, still, Ryuusei looked incredibly uncomfortable, like he didn't want to have to admit that his muscles were stiff and he wasn't near as agile as usual. He moved with a hesitancy around the equillion. "Alright, come on over here Ryuusei. We have to teach you how to move, and how to ignore this sort of so-called 'scary' creature. It won't hurt you." Morgan added. The equillion was definitely quite frightening, but was very well trained. Ryuusei was stiff-legged as he came down from the hillock, nearer to the equillion. Morgan knew that he would learn this far faster than Seimei, since he was more confident by nature. [2]

Perhaps it was the confident nature, or the indigence and desire to look strong, or perhaps even his own intimidating aura (which didn't seem to be affecting the equillion at all), but Ryuusei was indeed already beginning to move. That was a big deal to Morgan, who watched Seimei struggle to move at first. Sure, it was stiff-legged, but Ryuusei was moving of his own accord without issue. Morgan watched as he came down to their side, standing protectively near them. "Good, Ryuusei, that's good. Alright, we need to keep it up. I need you to get to where you can walk and move without stiff muscles or..." Fear, Morgan thought. "Yeah, without being stiff." Ryuusei seems to understand this, and then moved forward. He was ultra stiff legged the first time around, Morgan watching him carefully, and then soon he made another stiff-legged loop around the creature.

The second verse was same as the first, and Morgan couldn't help but feel like perhaps they were wrong; was he going to wind up breaking through the 'fear' and developing a hardy mind to this? The human tried not to show any sort of worry or disappointment, but it was indeed difficult to hide all of it. Ryuusei seems to catch wind, and that induces that super famous tat-lung pride! Ryuusei stiffens himself and then forces himself to make the third loop much more calm, practiced. It was a slight improvement, but more importantly, it took his mind off of the gripping fear, the effects of the intimidation. Morgan was glad to see this in his eyes as he tried to prove that he wasn't scared. The fourth and fifth loops are the same, but the sixth was what Morgan had been looking for. The sixth loop showed Ryuusei's muscles loosening dramatically.

That was it! "Great job Ryuusei, that's good, keep it up." Morgan said, and Ryuusei immediately felt a burst of confidence in this compliment. Morgan grinned and watched as Ryuusei shed the veil of fear and doubt, his muscles loosened, and he seemed to give off that sort of tat-lung-like laughter-type noise, a peal of bells. Morgan was quite glad to see him completely unaffected by the fearful presence. Now it was just continued practice from here. Ryuusei moved and leaped and bounded, he was signaled to take flight and flew circles of incredibly dexterous movement, and then he landed and seemed quite merry. Afterwards, Morgan was convinced that he had broken through and made his mind much more hardy. Morgan finally patted him in congratulations, and then quickly Morgan waves off the individual, now that they were done and they had been paid. Ryuusei had indeed did a great job. They go home afterward.

Morgan knew that Seimei was going to be VERY MAD when he found out about this.
However, they also knew that they needed practice before trying to teach the very easily annoyed Seimei how to read, so they decided to covertly take Ryuusei, the only other grown tat-lung they had at the moment. For one, Ryuusei was calmer and more patient, and he was also a good secret keeper. The last part was important because Ryuusei was also Seimei's mate. Woops.
The human brought Ryuusei to the park one day under the... Not quite lie that they needed him to help pick out groceries for the week, and as soon as they had gotten that done they went to the park. Morgan had brought books, of course, that would help Ryuusei learn how to read, but that was not the only thing they intended to work with him on today. Ryuusei seemed only a small amount nervous as they made it to their selected spot.

Ryuusei had only agreed with this because he did know that it would probably be difficult to learn to read with Seimei getting aggravated about minor issues (since he was easily angered) and also because he had to admit that he learned just a tad more slowly than his mate, and he knew that Seimei would both make it difficult for him to learn AND be super ahead of him.
Morgan had chosen a spot large enough for Ryuusei to lay out in the grass comfortably, that was close enough to a seat that could allow Morgan to comfortably sit as well. They would be here for some time today, after all. "Alright, b-before we get settled down, let's work on your fire-breath first. I-I think it'll be quick for you, honestly." Morgan said to him, signing and conveying at the same time. The triplicate communication worked very well.

Ryuusei was an incredibly patient tat-lung. It probably helped that he had a soft spot for the human, and that even though he recognized that Morgan was lesser than him, he still felt like the human was quite good. All they really wanted to do was help. However, he was quite nervous about this. He could sometimes force sparks to come out of his nose or mouth, but he hadn't quite learned how to force the fire out of his maw in a stream. It was embarrassing to him, surely he was the only gold tat-lung in the world that couldn't breathe fire at will! But Morgan wanted to help teach him, and they had helped him learn how to fly, so that was that.
"Alright, s-so we'll use this whistle tone as a cue whistle, okay?" Morgan said, using their dragon whistle to produce a nice powerful tone.

Morgan was always glad that it was never hard to get the tat-lungs to remember cues, whistled or verbal. They had even learned quite organically that the cues were not at all insulting- they'd used them in the past at the mansion to quickly react and avoid enemies and bad situations. So Morgan worked with Ryuusei to make sure that he had gotten the command, and understood that it was the correct one for breathing fire. "What a-about this one?" Morgan asked, providing a correct cue. 'That one was right.' Ryuusei answered. "And what about this one?" Morgan asked, providing another correct cue. 'That was the same one.' Ryuusei answered. "Alright, w-what about this one?" Morgan said, providing a wrong whistled cue. Ryuusei answered- Not that one. After this, Morgan was convinced that at the very least, they had a start. "Now, let's work on that fire breath."[4]
