Renathan finally looked back down to the orbaru crate that held Howie. He'd shifted around to where his banded tail was up against the grate, showing off that gorgeous pearl-colored tail orb. Renathan had never seen it flash before; Howie tended to be shy and stay away from the females for the most part. His tail mostly shimmered, or perhaps gleamed, light bouncing off of it's rather opaque orb as opposed to something semi-translucent as opposed to Renathan's other orbaru. Ah well, at least the male would be forced to interact with Koi today; and if he didn't actually breed, well then, no harm no foul. That happened sometimes, though Renathan himself had never had this occur to him before. He'd heard about it with others. Ah, well, there was a first time for everything, right? Renathan was quiet for a while as he waited, watching the two orbaru; Howie as he slept, and Koi as she tried to put one of her front paws out of the grate and to try to get to the male. Well, at least Koi wouldn't be a trouble with breeding today; she was already ready to get at the male. Hopefully Howie wouldn't cause too many issues.

Renathan allowed himself a moment to think about the recent events. He'd been a ball of nerves ever since his female orbaru suddenly started producing again. He'd had several males and females that had been involved in breedings before the strange cutoff happened, and he had to go looking to see which ones he had even bred all of those years ago because wow, he hadn't even been sure if they would ever produce again. Then he immediately had to take care of quite a few new orbaru and get them situated. He immediately got an urge to breed another few orbaru, and he'd been having difficulty getting the time to come out over here to the breeding center to even do this stuff. He was only just now beginning to feel calm again, he'd been so exhausted for so long and so stressed that it was odd to suddenly have time to do... Things. Just anything he wanted. Sure, Renathan still had to deal with work, but he was almost too stressed with the sudden realization that he could breed this pair just because he felt like it. He really hoped that Koi and Howie would like eachother, and that Howie would wake up soon. He was a sleepy boy.

And awake he did! Finally, or so Renathan thought even though it really wasn't that long, the male woke with a HUGE yawn, and then blinked his bright lavender eyes across the way. He'd been asleep when Renathan had scooped him up and put him in the padded carrier, so he really wasn't sure where he was. Thankfully, it wasn't really in an orbaru to worry, not even Howie, who was easily Renathan's most 'nervy' Orbaru. Howie instead seemed to (rather strangely for an orbaru) calmly take his area in, sniff and take in the smells around (undoubtedly a ton of smelly female orbaru were around, Renathan was sure because he could see them) before his eyes eventually landed upon the female, visually scanning over her almost. At that; he seemed suddenly excited! The female was right in front of him, and though he could smell all the males around, there weren't any near her. He leans out lazily and sticks a paw out of the grate through the openings. "Oh, looks like you are awake Howie!" Renathan said, excitedly now. Oh, that was very good, he was sure. He'd been hoping that the sleepy Howie would make the awakening just fine.

It would seem that Koi was already quite enamored with the male; she had never been bred before, so Renathan was sure that it would still take them some time once they got into the room to actually manage to finish the whole breeding thing, but man, did Howie not seem to realize that she was as into him as she was. The mammalian was now even more worried that the male would wind up being the issue this go around; one didn't usually have to worry about the males as much as Renathan had the last few breedings, but Laharu had never had a breeding before (though he did just fine of course) and Howie of course had a very weak constitution. Renathan was always very careful with him, so hopefully Koi would manage to trip him up, so to speak, despite his strange demeanor. Renathan was hoping for a nice couple of offspring here (maybe more if he was lucky?) so hopefully Howie would do what he was supposed to. Renathan had been so busy watching the two play, that he hadn't noticed that three of the people waiting had disappeared! Hopefully that meant that they had gotten back to the rooms!

There were not a whole lot of people to wait for now, and Renathan was glad. There seemed to be another line forming; but Renathan would not have to deal with those folks because he already had his number and registration finished today. Howie and Koi would be fine to go back and get a room soon, so Renathan just had to lean back and wait for the breeding rooms to be finished up in, so that they could get this over with. Boy was he ready to get it over with, too. There was just too much going on at home for him to spend as much time as he had there last time that he had done a breeding here. The mammalian leaned back and continued to watch Howie and Koi try to get to one another, much like the other orbaru had done the other day. Orbaru tended to have very subtle differences in personality, or at least Renathan's tended to be, so there was not a whole lot of differences when it came to how they tended to play. Some seemed a little more clever than others, but it was all arbitrary to be honest. Howie was a little odd, out of most of them. He wasn't Renathan's weirdest one though.

No, the weirdest orbaru that Renathan had BY FAR was Lazare. He was absolutely beyond strange, constantly 'stealing' cupcakes from beyond the nether, or at least that was how Renathan saw it. He had no idea what to think about Lazare; the poor creature was just so strange even by orbaru standards. Thankfully neither Koi nor Howie were like that. Koi was a bubbly, happy creature, but was certainly one of three femme fatales of the orbaru hoard. She, like the other two, tended to use their feminine charms to get the lion's share of the food if Renathan didn't keep them from doing it, and despite the increased food intake, they never seemed to get any larger. Ah, well, at least Koi was a sweety, despite her being so odd. Howie, on the other hand, was different due to his weakness. He tended to stay away from the other orbaru and sleep more. Renathan was careful to keep an eye on him. He was surprised to see him finally begin to get more interested in Koi; thank goodness! Renathan was afraid that he wouldn't take to her well enough... Renathan glanced up after having heard a noise; oh, one of the individuals was coming from the back with their orbaru tucked under their arms!

That was a good sign; there were only five more people in front of Renathan at this point, and he was ready to get this over with. Sure, he loved breeding orbaru, but it was a lot of work for one person at a time! Orbaru were such strange creatures and often made some very pretty kiddos, and they were worth it, but man was it tiring. Renathan tried not to think about how much energy it took out of him to sit and wait about the entire thing. He was really hoping for a nice kiddo out of this one; and having this baby berry used would make that a bit more possible to happen at a good rate. Renathan watched as the breeding center helpers worked; one running over to go clean the recently unoccupied room, and the other trying to get the line that Renathan didn't have to deal with worked through. The person at the front of the line seemed to be having issues understanding the forms. That made a lot of sense, Renathan hadn't exactly understood them well at first. Finally, he looked down at both of his orbaru; at least Howie and Koi were playing nicely, despite being in the crates!

It shouldn't be too much longer, Renathan thought, as he saw yet another person come out from the hallway where the breeding rooms were. For some reason, it had been a lot harder to wait this time, despite the longer wait having been last time. Renathan sighed beneath his mask, at least this time it wasn't going to be much longer. Another breeding center worker ran back to go clean that room, and it really was beginning to feel like Renathan had seen this a billion times before. "Don't worry Howie, you'll get your chance with her soon." Renathan bent down and gently petted Howie's little paw. Orbaru were adorable, he did really like them, even when they weren't breedable he still spent as much time as he could with them. Lazare even generally slept in his bed, even, what an adorable critter! Orbaru really were great. Not long later, the breeding center helper at the desk and had managed to work through the entire line finally. Renathan felt sorry for that breeding center worker at the counter, she always looked so tired when he came in. Oh well, he thought. Renathan was super excited to see the breeding center cleaner come out and call a number not far from his though!

Only two more to wait through now, and man, Renathan was getting worried that he might not be able to tough it out. There was a clock, brand new because it wasn't there last week, up on the wall and it was growing apparent to Renathan that if these two were not SUPER quick whenever they got back to the breeding room, which was a bad thing all things considered, that he'd have to leave without breeding them anyway because he really needed to get back to the shop. Gone were the days where he could just spend an entire evening to breed a pair. He had to work, he had a job to do, he couldn't really spend so much time on his own. It kind of sucked, because otherwise he could just do whatever he wanted. The thing is; he had to do it in little two-hour spats, and not really in long six-hour blocks like he used to be able to. Ah, well. Renathan taps his foot and watches Koi and Howie play, and soon, two more people come out from the back, this time each one had a pair of orbaru. That meant that soon, they would be ready to go back!

Koi was getting kinda desperate now, it looked like. She was pushing her body against the grate of the critter crate like Zelda had done the other day. Perhaps that meant that the breeding would be rather quick? Renathan had no idea, but he really hoped so. Howie, as per usual today it would seem, was easily a couple of steps behind her, still simply trying to play through the grate. Renathan sighed. He was glad perhaps that he had planned to use grates, because he was sure that he would be in trouble if they bred here in the waiting room instead of where they were supposed to. The breeding center had a thing about the area needing to be sterile, absolutely sterile. So Renathan knew that the crates were probably the only thing keeping it from happening sooner. Two more people went back to the rooms, and Renathan knew that they were next. He was tapping his foot gently, and pushed the two crates a bit closer so that they could play a little easier. "Not long now." Renathan said quietly, smiling beneath the mask. "Not long now at all, you two." Neither of the orbaru were paying attention to each other.

Finally; after what felt like forever, an individual came out of the back with two more orbaru beneath their arms. Renathan could almost have jumped up and did a dance, but he kept himself in the seat. "Oh, we are next." He said, in the vague direction of Howie and Koi, though they were all wrapped up in the game they were playing with each other. The playing thing that orbaru did was a little weird, in all honesty. Was it their breeding process? Orbaru tended to play even when they weren't ready to do all of that, so Renathan wasn't sure about the playing thing. He thought about this for a moment as he watched the breeding center workers go back to clean the rooms; three of them, right? Renathan knew that they were up next but he didn't want to disrupt the play of the critters until he absolutely had to. That might startle them and make it take longer, he figured. After a moment or two, one of the helpers returned rather quickly and called for one of the two in front of Renathan to go back. Renathan couldn't help but get excited. Maybe they'll have time to finish it?

The mammalian looks up at the clock, and then smiles beneath the mask again. Yes, they had some time. Since the two had been playing nearly this whole time, hopefully they would play nice once they got back to the room? Renathan glanced up and saw another breeding helper come out from back down the hall way where he had undoubtedly cleaned a room. The last person ahead of Renathan was called back, and Renathan watched them drag the pachee back with them that they had with them. Ah; so people were still breeding pachee, it would seem! Renathan was glad about that, pachee were cute too; even if he was a much bigger fan of orbaru! Renathan smiled softly, and then picked his two orbaru up in their carriers beneath his arms. He smiled at the two orbaru, knowing that they were next. It wasn't long at all before the final breeding center helper came back and called his number. Renathan took his number sticker to the lady and gave it to her as he went back to the room, happy that they were finally going to get a chance to get this over with and done. Howie and Koi were trying to get to eachother even beneath his arms.

That was a good sign, at least. Renathan wasted no time getting back to the breeding room so that they could get this done. The mammalian shut the door behind himself and finally sat both of the orbaru's carriers down. This room looked different from last time; the last room had been a basic little playroom. This one looked absolutely comprehensive; it had a sandbox (was that really a good idea- was it really easy to clean?) a huge play castle, various blocks and other sorts of toys laying around. Renathan didn't have long to marvel at it, though, despite wanting to take it all in. His desire to keep his beloved orbaru safe was honestly a bit overwhelming sometimes. He was that way over all of his creatures, so of course he was nervous about all of these new toys, what if there was a dangerous one somewhere? Thankfully, however, Renathan remembered that the breeding center was not a horrible place, it was almost too particular about the safety of breedings. It should all be fine. Renathan bent down and snicked open both of the locks on the critter cages, allowing Koi and Howie both out and into the room.

Renathan looked back at the multi-colored seats along the wall. There were plenty of magazines for him to read, just in case these critters did take a million and one years to do what they needed to do. There was also a clock on the wall, thankfully, since he needed to be able to check the time. He just had to hope now that the two orbaru would breed sooner rather than later, because they only had about twenty more minutes to do this in. They'd been out for nearly two hours already, with the two playing together through the crates the entire time. Hopefully these babies would be worth it, too. Sure, he loved all orbaru, but he was a breeder after all, and a coat-breeder at that. Orbaru were created specifically for this though, so he didn't really feel bad about the situation entirely like he would if he was working with critters that could be harmed by such breeding practices. Thankfully, it didn't take long for Koi to run out of her crate, and immediately chase after Howie, who hadn't been running from her specifically and had instead been running toward the play castle. Renathan breathed out a sigh of relief.

The sigh of relief was partially because he was glad that Koi and Howie were playing and already to the 'chasing' part of the whole orbaru courting process, at least on Koi's part. Usually it was the male chasing the female, but hey, Howie was kind of a weird orbaru. The rest of the cause of the sigh of relief was the fact that Howie was indeed running AWAY from the area that had the sandbox, and man oh man was Renathan really not looking forward to cleaning sand out of the two orbarus' fur. That was going to suck so very badly, and they were seeming to dodge it. Howie was playing hard to get, scrambling up the steps quickly in order to get onto the castle. Koi, on the other hand, was not even phased. She barreled up those steps faster than fast; at least for an orbaru, nearly slipping on the way up but catching herself rather quickly. She was ready to get to the male. Howie stops at the very tip top, and goes to turn around but is barreled into by the female; knocking him over. Thankfully, they both landed in a good place where they wouldn't fall completely off.
