Renathan only had a certain time frame to do this in today, even if he didn't blame the workers for the delay. Some of these sorts of things came from the people that were doing breedings causing issues in their breedings, others were just stubborn pairs, and still others were caused by the sheer number of people here. That in fact was what was probably causing the stressed out staff issue. He wondered if any of them took breaks or days off. Then again, his shop was open all week for commission work with creating things. Even though he loved the work, he still made sure to take time off for himself at least a little bit. That was the most important thing, so Renathan hoped that the breeding center staff were also taking such breaks. It would be terrible if he found out that they did not. Then again, the breeding center had went through a lull there for a long time, so perhaps they were just not used to the sheer amount of folks here to work with pairs now that they have orbaru in season again? Renathan stepped forward again in line, and then smiled down at the pair, that could see each other visibly through the holes in their crates.

Well, at least the orbaru would be well acquainted by the time they got in a room, Renathan figured. He only had about three people ahead of him now, at least, so he could put a number and a general assumption of time on what he was currently experiencing. It was important to him to get this done soon; he couldn't keep taking time off of work to deal with the longer wait times. He didn't make any outward signs of being frustrated though; it was highly important that he didn't make the breeding center workers think that he was mad at them. He honestly wasn't even slightly upset with them, they were doing their jobs and couldn't control this at all. However, the fact that there were a billion other people here all the time was annoying, regardless. Renathan was annoyed, but not at anyone in particular, and that distinction was important. That was what he felt, anyway. However, the two orbaru did not seem to notice, and if they did, they didn't care. They continued to make loud boops and try to get around to where they could see each other much better through the breathing holes in the creature crates.

At least Pursia and Gummi really liked each other, it would seem. Perhaps once they got back to the breeding room, they wouldn't take too long to get their business done. Pursia, after all, had bred before and probably 'knew the ropes' so to speak, and Gummi didn't seem near as nervous about the entire situation as the other males had tended to be. The first one that Renathan had used in the breeding season this go around was a male named Laharu, and he hadn't been bred before. He'd been just a hint nervous, but had wound up doing just fine! The second male, Howie, was finicky and anxious for an Orbaru, so Renathan had known beforehand that it was going to be a big issue. However, even Howie had given up and performed with a bit of work. Renathan had a bit of a gift when it came to finicky creatures, and the orbaru was no exception. Renathan, despite his headache, found himself grow quite proud of that fact. He didn't need to be anything special today, with Gummi, however. That was certainly a very good thing, because Renathan didn't think he had it in him to deal with stuff today.

Renathan felt like sometimes he was running himself a bit ragged. Sure, he was only doing what he wanted to do, but sometimes there were limitations to what a person could do in the long run. He really needed to learn to pace himself, and that lesson (though not quite completed) was both hard earned and won. Renathan would have to begin picking his battles and figuring out where he stood with things, and what things were willing to be let go. He simply could not be everywhere at once, despite wanting to be able to do all kinds of things at once. He had to really think about things. However, he did know that if he could swing things his way, he'd at least be able to breed orbaru between all of the things he had to do. Perhaps he was nervous about what the next few months would bring; he had wanted to do so much over the summer, but things always slowed down at the start of the fall; when the cold came, many started holing up in their homes. What would it be like then? Would all his work be in vain? At least he would have his orbaru?

Beyond that, Renathan had spent nearly all of the past year working diligently with Shy Guy. Just thinking about it made his heart clench up painfully, and bile rise into his throat. What would he do now that Shy Guy had been... And the tournament had been... Renathan just couldn't stand to think about the pit anymore. He could hardly stand to be around Shy Guy, not because he was mad that he lost, but because it was HIS fault. Renathan had been too slow to give him the commands he needed to win. They could have won that one! And now Shy Guy was getting healthy again, slowly but surely. How could he even bear to ride the stallion anymore? Sure, Shy Guy trusted him completely, and he loved the creature, but that was the point. How could he have hurt him this badly? It made him really sick to be thinking about it again. The two orbaru were making noises and moving around in their carriers, and people were speaking around him; many more in the waiting room as opposed to the line now, and Renathan felt a bit sick. Suddenly, he realized that he was almost at the front of the line.

The mammalian struggled to pull himself back together. Two panic attacks in the line, huh? Complete with difficulty breathing, that had to be a new record for him. He tried to think about it in a funny light but it really, really wasn't funny. He tried to calm his breathing the best he could and pull himself from that head space, but it was difficult work. He was still a bit out of breath when he got to the counter, but thankfully the individual at the counter (yes, it was the one that he had thought earlier was probably up here) and a bit of an understanding passed between two pairs of eyes. Renathan didn't say anything, and just began working on the forms that needed to be filled out. He was so used to doing this paperwork that he allowed himself not to think while doing them, just mindlessly staring down and trying to gather himself. He finally felt kind of empty, but much less stressed after finishing them. He glanced behind himself and realized that no one was behind him. Huh, that was a good thing for the person at the counter. He nodded to her, and then took his orbaru over to the number ticket generator.

Renathan had difficulty this time holding up the (somewhat heavier due to her thicker fur than the average silky) kinda poofy Pursia's carrier to be able to get to the ticket machine well. He'd nearly dropped her. However, Renathan managed to kind of catch her between his elbow and hip, which hurt kind of a bit but ah well. He grabbed the ticket quickly, trying not to cry out from the (more shocking than painful) mess up. He sat down, nursing his pride a little bit, because the noise had caused several people to look up. Ah, well, now it was only time to wait. The seats were kind of uncomfortable today for Renathan, he noticed it now due to feeling a bit wimpy due to his headache. Today was just not going well for the mammalian. He did notice that as soon as he got good and sat down, that three people came out one right after the other, carrying two orbaru under each of their arms. Renathan sat his two orbaru carriers down facing one another and close so that they could begin playing already. They had already been playing peek-a-boo through the air slats in the creature carriers, after all.

Hopefully this wouldn't be too long of a wait, Renathan thought, as he glanced up from the two orbaru toward the breeding center helpers. The helpers had ran back to go work on the breeding rooms, getting them cleaned and sterilized and ready and all. Renathan couldn't help but wonder how they did that. Did they use chemicals? Or some kind of technological thing that scanned and cleaned the area? He really had no idea. However, he really did want to know. Not enough to get him into any trouble or anything; he didn't want to go back there and get caught when he wasn't supposed to be there. He sighed, however. He didn't have a lot more time, and it seemed like they would be there for much longer than expected. Still, the orbaru were just now realizing that they could touch each other through the grates of the critter crates. That was a big thing for them, they seemed excited, though they could just barely play with one another's paws, and nothing more. Enough to let them get to know each other, but not enough that they could breed when they weren't supposed to quite yet. It was a good way to get them used to one another.

Renathan was glad that he had thought of putting the creature carriers down facing towards one another so that they could indeed begin the bonding process. Really, they'd already been interacting even on the way here, so Renathan was certain that their breeding would be quick and painless whenever he was allowed to let them out of the critter crates. It was really a shame that they had to wait for so long so often. However, that was that, Renathan thought. Soon, the breeding center helpers came out one by one and called out three people from the waiting room. Now that they were gone, Renathan could tell that there were not nearly as people as he had thought, in his panicky way, earlier. Thank goodness. Renathan cradled his masked head in his hands for a minute, trying to pull himself together. Just what was wrong with him today? There was nothing really special about today that he could think of, but he was an absolute ball of nerves. He waited, and waited it seemed. Finally, he sighed and glanced down at the two very secured orbaru. He was half tempted to just... Accidentally let them go. However, he might get into trouble...

Of course not let them go outside or anything; Orbaru were not at all suited to protect theirselves outside with predators and whatnot. They were basically fodder, at worst. However, Renathan thought about letting them go 'accidentally' in the breeding center so that they got their playtime out. Still, he was afraid that they would breed prematurely, and that would cause issues. Renathan nervously looked up to the clock, tapping his foot as he did so, and realized quite quickly that they really didn't have the time to wait. He stared down at the latches anxiously, and thought about just barely touching them to make the spring let the creatures out. However, before he could do anything particularly hare-brained, Renathan heard a noise and glanced up, realizing that someone was already coming down the hallway. Back the breeding center helper went to go clean the room, as his orbaru played at his feet through the creature grates. Then another, and the breeding center helper that was next up to do so went back. Ah, so this might just be quick enough to do today? Renathan crossed his fingers, sighed, and decided not to 'accidentally' let the orbaru out. Hopefully this would work out just fine.

Renathan sighed again, cradling his head in one arm as he waited. His eyes caught those of the breeding helpers that were still there, and he looked away quickly, feeling bad for them. If he was feeling quite a bit stressed and nervous about this place right now and all of the waiting, then he was sure that they were feeling it way harder than he was. He frowned under the mask quietly, just thinking about it made him a bit sad. It would just seem like he was going to be in a bad mood today no matter what he did. Ah well, he was just going to have to deal. Thankfully, watching the orbaru play below was a bit mind-numbing and cute, so he tried to focus on that until he finally saw the third person come down the hallway, an orbaru tucked under each arm, and another breeding center helper go back. Not long after all of this, three more people were called back. That was quite fine, Renathan thought. It wouldn't be a lot longer before he got to go back with his two orbaru. He could hardly wait; there wasn't much more time in his break today.

Renathan tried not to let his current stress show through when he was working with other people, but it was not at all completely controlled. He was having a bit of trouble regulating his emotions at the moment, and it was not something he was proud of. He hoped that the individuals that were borrowing orbaru from him were taking him decently enough, but he wouldn't blame them if he seemed a bit difficult. Okay, a lot difficult. Renathan was a strange fellow, and he didn't come across very well often. That wasn't something he normally thought about at length, but right now he was actually worried about so much stuff, and he was a bit worse than usual. Renathan waited for just a bit, and was surprised to see someone come out of the breeding rooms almost immediately. Ah? There were only two more people ahead of him, so this meant... Good, he'd have time to do this today. A breeding helper ran back to go clean the room; not that it should be too bad, since the person was only there for a few minutes. Gummi and Pursia were still playing, making booping noises at one another. Would they be quick today?

Renathan sure hoped so. So far, all of the breedings that Renathan had managed to get worked out so far with his orbaru pairs had turned out just fine even with this waiting getting in the way. So he wasn't too worried. Renathan waited and waited, though it was certainly not as long as the waiting in the line had been previously. Or perhaps it had not physically been on that long, in all honesty Renathan wasn't really at the top of his game today at all. He needed to get this over with, because he needed to get home and get himself in bed. He really wasn't feeling like getting back to work today at this point. There was way too much to be done right now. WAAAY too much for him to really be having a 'bad day' while trying to do it, so it seemed like home was just going to be where Renathan was going to be today. Gummi and Pursia were now trying to get to one another more; pushing their sides up against the grates of the crates. Ah, well, that was good. They'd be quick then. He;d have to give them the baby berry soon.

Thankfully, Renathan sees the last couple of people leave from the back rooms, each one with an orbaru pair under their arms. Did Renathan even see a pachee pairing at all today? He hoped that they were still getting bred, but was thankful to see the orbaru being bred. They took more work, after all, and that was cool to Renathan. He figured that it was more fun that way, honestly. "Looks like we'll get to go back soon, you two." Renathan finally murmurs. The tiny creatures didn't even look up at Renathan for a single second. They ignored him, and were instead focused on each other. Renathan was a bit surprised, most of Renathan's males had been a bit odd when there were a ton of females in the waiting room, but Gummi had only had eyes for Pursia today. Maybe there hadn't been as many females today? Why was Renathan having a lot more difficult time remembering whether there was or not? Ugh, he was really having a bad day today. However, he was glad when the breeding center helpers finally came back, and he was called back. He picked up both orbaru, and turned in his ticket.

Back down the hallway he went. It would appear that the front few breeding rooms were either occupied, or perhaps they were down and out for the day. Out of Order, they called it sometimes? Renathan couldn't help but glance at the white doors as he went past. They didn't have any lines on them at all. However, Renathan was mostly trying to ignore the two orbaru in the crates that he was holding; they were being loud and annoying as all heck, trying to get to one another now that they were separated. They didn't know that it was only going to be a for a few seconds, but Renathan knew that they were only going to be separated shortly. Soon, he was back at the room that he was supposed to be in, and he walked in and shut the door. Renathan quickly got to work, sitting down the two carriers and glancing around the room. Then he sat down, and then opened up the carriers carefully. Each orbaru shot out, the female nearly tripping over her ears. "Hey you two, wait up!" He still had to feed them the berry before they began playing. He pulled the berry out quickly.
