The thundergug came up and the thundergug went down. Detritus braced as the sound roiled over him, then blinked, looking up. It was decidedly less thunderous than he had been anticipating.. at least in the split second after, right up until the point where the ringing in his ears turned painful and he winced. Thunder and thunder had a difference, but both still got the job done.
Keep moving! the sphinx tried to chide him, to break through the ringing in his ears. There was still the high-pitched static whine slowly rising, almost too slowly at this point, but it was easily mixed in with the echoes of the thundergug's stomping from before. Remember, they have range. A moving target is a harder target, keep a distance.
The voice came through in occasional bouts and spurts, almost like a faulty telephone line stuttering in the static. Not the static, thankfully, though the tension along his body, that tickling feel along his scales, rising up along his mane and sending little small sparks appear and evaporate in split seconds, was a tempting doorway into that. He could just do it, he could just swing that doorway open and let his nature consume him. It was tempting. It was terrifying. Det shook his head, to clear the thought and clear his mind. No, no.. That door had to stay closed. Always closed, always locked. He could borrow from his nature, but never give into it. With a whipping flick of his tail, he took off, arms scrabbling at his ears, trying to pop them normal again, looping around the arena for as high as the construction limits allowed.

Good, the thundering sound did what it was supposed to do, but Jack was chewing on her lip pretty good. She had a feeling she knew what was going on, there was a static in the air, and she was nervous as to what was going to happen. They had to try at least, right? Maybe they would hit, maybe they wouldn't, but there was a chance, and that's what she had to hold on to no matter what. She leaned forward over the railing and called out to him through their Ribbon again, "Winter, Kro!" The Thundergug aimed at the Tat-lung, hoping to hit him with the ice cold breath that was escaping him. She couldn't wait to see if it hit or not, and inwardly she cringed a little as she tried to see if it was going to work. She really hoped it would, but would it, really? Kro tried his best, though maybe his best wasn't good enough against this Tat-lung...

He just kept missing! This was definitely his fault though, he had twisted his head around too quickly and hadn't hit the Tat-lung. That was fine, they still had a little while to go, right? Jack chewed on her lip, leaning forward over the railing some more, sure that she was about to fall over it, but that was fine, she could catch herself with her magic if she needed to. "Winter Kro, come on!" she called to him through the Ribbon. They had to hit sometime, eventually the luck would run out, or at least she hoped so. Jack crossed her fingers, hoping things would go well for them, but if not, that was fine. He had taken a little damage so far, but she knew that things would work out either way in the end of it all. She just hoped she could take care of it after a little while, no matter what happened, she was proud.

Det looped through the air, at different height and different speeds, anything to help throw the thundergug's aim off. It seemed his exertions were a little overdone, however, when the next shot of frigid beam came up but then arced around the complete different way to where he was going. Was the thundergug tiring? It was hard to tell, but regardless any sense of advantage was nothing to lay one's self out on laurels for - just as easily as the beam could miss, it could also take a lucky enough shot to hit.
Which was why they needed to work first. He knew what was coming, it had been a prior pattern. Already the clouds had been gathering above (though, really, they had been gathered in all the rounds he had stepped foot into the sands) and a low rumble prevailed in the air. Distant.. but closing. Brief, small flashes in the clouds were a pre-game for what was to come, as Detritus squared up in the air, arms extending with claws stretched outward. The glow of his eyes grew steadily, veiling the such sky-blue of his usual tones, and the small, quietly growing whine in the air reached a fever pitch. It stopped. In truth, it still kept going, but the frequency was no longer something humanoid ears could pick up on.
Darky watched him prepare, then turned to look at the thundergug in the Pit. "Chiabirel."
The tat-lung reached for that core of power in him, drawing on the energie (no, borrowing, bit by bit) and the air in the arena around the thundergug grew heavy and thick. The slight pressure from before grew into a heavy blanket that would have caused hairs to rise on anything, if they had hairs. The skies rumbled, the pressure reached a point in time for the sub-audible whine to reach its and the arena seemed frozen for a second. Det clenched his claws, static spent into one full arcane push. The air ripped a line from sky to ground and the sundering filled with white-hot lance of plasma. The arena, yet again, went blinding white for half a second.

Calculations
-Detritus uses Call the Lightning Electrical Charge is active; this attack will do x2 the damage Kro's dexterity is below 10; Call the Lightning Hits 20 Damage is dealt Kro is now at 0 stamina
Shocked and thoroughly crisped; the mighty Kro is downed. The pit crew rushes out to begin their job as soon as they possibly can, so that he doesn't have to be in pain any longer than need to be.
Detritus receives 2 levels and Darky receives 3 pit prize points for winning. Kro receives 1 level and Jack receives 1 pit prize point for participating.
