Renathan had been far too busy to do quests lately, which was a shame because it was an excellent way of gaining prestige, or at least credits, and Renathan definitely always needs credits. He took Auburn this time, since he often enjoyed being around her, to the quest board. He was planning on picking up an easy and not difficult quest, something quick to do to get a few quest points and maybe something neat while he was in-between doing other things. Renathan did not expect to see a very elderly individual that appeared to be blind sitting near the quest board. He immediately stopped and bowed to her out of respect, and then stepped forward, speaking since she could not see. "Hello there, do you need help?" He asked, kindly. Auburn trilled on his shoulder, oblivious a bit. Renathan was pleased to be here, perhaps she needed someone to weed her garden or something. He wouldn't mind helping out an elder for any reason.

The woman certainly seemed to notice Renathan, and whenever she stood up and started talking enthusiastically, he mentally slapped himself for feeling like perhaps he shouldn't have caught her attention. Boy, was she verbose! He tried to keep up with her speedy conversation, and found himself with a dry mouth and a bit of a head-spin. He was surprised at her... Ah, all of that actually. However, he wanted to help, he really did. "Yes, of course I'll help you. Will you give me the address?" Renathan finally said, feeling a bit anxious about it. After the lady gave him the address, Renathan turned to Auburn, patting her on the head. "Alrighty, we'll be on our way. I'll get a hold of you when I find it." Renathan said. He immediately went to go look for that address. He knew where the street was, so it shouldn't be too hard, right?

It didn't take long for Renathan to get to the address, and the woman's garden was super tiny and cute. There were tons of plants everywhere; potted in nearly anything one could think of. He was surprised that she had such a good idea of what was super cute visually while she was blind and all, there was even a tiny bonsai tree growing in a boot! How adorable! It would seem that she was living in a huge house that was semi-fashioned into a giant boot, and that was something that Renathan hadn't been expecting, but found super adorable. It had to be something to do with a common story, right? A Faerie-Tale, they called them, right? Renathan wasn't super sure, but he was ready to check around and all. "Alrighty Auburn, let's check around here first to make sure that he hasn't come back to steal any more crystals or whatever." Renathan said, listening to her trill a bit.

Renathan was honestly just glad that he wasn't going to be dealing with the lady for a little while longer. While he wished her the best and wanted to help, she was super talkative and Renathan didn't have a lot of time today. After checking around the garden and looking over all of the best looking bonsai trees that the lady grew, Renathan finally sighed. "Looks like we aren't going to find him in this garden. We'll have to check one of the abandoned ones nearby." He mumbled, petting Auburn for a second before decided which direction he was going to go first. Left, right, or towards the back? The woman had said that all of the gardens around hers were abandoned, so that left a lot of room to go looking and all. Renathan finally chose to go toward the back. That was where he would run if he was a runaway nyssa!

Renathan finally crossed the barrier between her garden and the one behind it, and instantly walked from a cute, carefully curated garden of bonsai trees to a huge gnarled mess that almost looked like the old veil in his homeland. It was rugged and rough. How long ago had the woman said that her neighbors had moved away? It certainly was not at all recently! Renathan frowned beneath the mask as he stepped beneath the top wooden bar and above the bottom wooden bar in the fence (really cute, but not very secure design in all honesty) to get into the garden to the back. This was definitely her issue; she would need a much more fortified fence to keep this creature out in the future. A shame that someone would just abandon their nyssa, but it couldn't be helped. "Auburn, can you hear anyone here? Maybe a big ole sleepy tree dude?" Renathan looked at his Jibiji quietly.

When Auburn didn't pay any attention to him, Renathan sighed. That meant one of two things, either the creature was being quiet because she Did hear something, or perhaps that meant that she was just bored or something. Renathan was never completely sure what to think when Auburn acted a little differently than she typically did. Renathan trusted her, though, so he was silent as he continued forward, purposefully keeping from stepping on any sticks or stones as they entered the abandoned garden. He didn't speak any more, as he felt Auburn start to shake just a bit on Renathan's shoulder. Ah; so something was around, and it must be huge if Auburn was frightened. She was hardly scared of anything, only the most large of creatures gave her bits and bobs of a pause! Renathan was almost curious to see what this giant Nyssa looked like, now. It couldn't be a normal one, at all.

Renathan continued forward, listening with his ears strained as they came forward. Surely something or another was going on here, something felt off. The area around them was growed up so much that Renathan was having a hard time walking. It felt like the vines and tree roots were grabbing at him as he walked past! Surely not, right? Renathan squinted and looked down at all of it. Yeah, this couldn't be natural. After looking at it for a long pause, Renathan could tell that they were indeed moving. Yes, this wasn't a natural garden. Something was here, using some kind of magic. But what was it? Suddenly, Renathan was sure that it was the nyssa. There were creatures that could make plants grow up, like this! Luckily Renathan was just strong enough to pick his feet up out of the slumbering masses of growing plants. Auburn was silent on his shoulder, clutching at him.

Renathan continued on, finding it more and more difficult not to make a ton of noise as he did so. This was easily one of the oddest situations he had been in, but he couldn't bring himself to be afraid or anything. No, he'd been through worse, but this was still definitely strange. He fought the urge to talk to Auburn, as he typically did, and instead counted his steps as he went further and further into this strange garden. It almost felt alive; as if a ley was laid beneath the land here. It almost felt like the mansion did; was that the issue? Say, what was this crystal anyway, and why was it important? Renathan wasn't sure what to make of it, but he was already calf-deep in the mess, and he had to keep going. No turning back now, he thought, even though it was starting to seem quite fishy.

Renathan continued on, until finally, he began to realize what was going on. Hopefully, the nyssa was just sleeping on top of this 'crystal' and hadn't eaten it, or something like that. Renathan figured that a nyssa that had eaten a crystal, if it was one of the magical ones, would be a huge mess. Renathan wasn't sure if he could defeat even a normal nyssa, let alone one that had eaten something like that! But he knew that he was going into it's lair, deep into the near jungle of a forest here. Slowly, slowly Renathan made his way, picking across the ground, until he laid eyes on it; a huge nyssa. It was still far away, but Renathan could certainly see it's sleeping hulking form, and hear the snorting snores as it rested. Auburn fixed her silver eyes on it, and stopped being so tense. Yes, she could see where the danger was coming from, now.

But where was the crystal? Renathan had no idea, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to go any closer to the nyssa. He was glad that he was an elemental, because that gave him some self-protection options, but Renathan had no idea whether the nyssa was super dangerous, or hyper dangerous, depending on what had just transpired. He was beginning to feel like this was a much more difficult quest than he had been told that it would be. Still, he squinted, and breathed in, and then out. He pushed forward, stepping over the roots to keep from alerting the giant creature, and then moved closer to it, searching for that crystal that it had stolen. Renathan was going to try to steal it back if he could, instead of killing the creature. Auburn stayed super quiet, and Renathan tip-toed on his way up to it. Maybe he would get lucky?
