Jinx was not exactly the most quest-worthy person in the city, she was sure, but she was in search of an adventure today and this is where her feet took her. She had accepted the quest the lady had given her, something about hunting down this Nyssa creature that had taken her crystal cluster and run off with it; well, now Jinx was on its tail, and she'd have to figure out the best way to get the cluster back! She didn't have any strong - or rather, well trained and strong - pets so she had opted to go at this alone. Alone, she might be able to talk to the creature if it was smart enough. Alone, she wouldn't have to somehow manage an untrained pet in a possibly scary situation, and still hunt this thing down.
She was barefoot, and covered in a nearly sheer top, toga style, with her hair up in some light cascading curls. An ankle bracelet jingled on her foot as she walked; a light walk, mostly on her toes but airy enough that she seemed to waltz. She was humming a tune in her head as she walked, not paying attention to her surroundings so much until she was there.
At the overrun gardens.
It was basically a forest of plants! Not just trees, but all kinds of plants!

It was slow going, to be sure, in part because Jinx was barefoot and had to watch where she stepped, but also because she stopped to check out some ferns, or flowers, or collect some herbs to bring back home. She did have a bag with her, a satchel that she carried over her shoulder. She needed some place to put the crystal cluster when she found it, after all! She reached a fallen log and hesitated, looking it over and looking from side to side. Overgrown forest on each side, or a three foot tall tree trunk across her path, which would be easier to deal with? With a look of determination, she went to the tree and put her arm over it, then brought up a foot to find a good toe hold, then hauled herself up. Thankfully, she had decent upper body strength, from riding and swimming and other things she did outdoors, so she was able to pull herself up and over without much hassle. She slid down the mossy side of the trunk on the other side, her feet hitting the soft earth and scattering some leaves. She continued down the path, head up and eyes alert. Any tree could be one of these Nyssa things, she thought. Was that tree moving? No, no, it was just the breeze in the branches...

The forest was alive with the sound of an assortment of bugs and animals. Bugs like crickets and cicadas, butterflies flapping, spiderwebs across untouched leaves. Animals scurried beneath the leaves, making rustling noises, and movement out of the corners of her eyes hinted that animals were darting into holes and tunneling underground, or hiding in bushes and dens, trying to stay out of her sight. Not that she was a predator or anything, she couldn't imagine hurting animals unless absolutely necessary, but she was definitely a stranger in these parts. When was the last time a human had trudged through these gardens? Jinx was willing to bet it was a good long time since anyone with any sense had been here. Part of her wanted to claim one of these for herself and get a garden started of her very own, but she didn't know much about gardening and it would definitely take some time to learn... Maybe later. Right now, she had a goal in mind.
"Ah!" She exclaimed, suddenly tripping over a root of some kind. Her big toe had gotten caught in it and nearly sent her flying! Luckily for her, she managed to catch herself and hop on one leg, instead of going down with a crash.

Righting herself, Jinx glanced around to see if anyone had seen her. She was in the clear, and didn't even have to play it off at all to save face. She smiled to herself, ran her fingers through her long flowing hair, and set back on her way. She was a little more careful this time, choosing where to put her feet with a little more attention paid. Her toe throbbed where it had gotten caught, though not enough to distress her or cause her to limp. The soft leaves and other foilage underfoot felt nice, the cool greenery in the shade down here soothing the throb. Soon, she would forget it and it would heal up on its own, but right now... Ouch! She did not want to do it again.
It didn't take her too long before she did trip again, however. This time, it was't her fault - it was because she'd stepped into a large indent in the ground! What in the world was that? She wobbled on the edge of it, accidentally caving in one side and mushing it with her own foot print. She stumbled backward, trying to save what she could so she could observe it. She inched forward, carefully, and looked. It was... a footprint! A rather huge one, if you ask her opinion. What could it belong to?

Jinx realized now that she didn't know much about Nyssa. A quick questioning earlier had revealed that they were tree creatures, and large enough to build a tree house in, but she didn't know that they walked! Or that they could steal things with branch arms! She had learned those just from this trip alone, and thanks to the footprint. That was a little creepy, if you asked her, knowing that the trees could just uproot themselves and go walking around. Could you train a tree? That seemed like a very odd thing to do, and she loved nature and trees and all that good stuff. She looked around for more footprints and soon found a trail. She wasn't that great at tracking, especially considering she hadn't even known Nyssa could walk until a half hour ago let alone what their footprints were like, but she could tell the direction the footprints were going and she figured that would be a pretty safe bet. She walked along, careful still in case she tripped again, and felt that she was walking deeper and deeper into the darker parts of this garden. The sunlight was very nearly all blocked out here... Which meant this creepy place couldn't be it, right? Trees needed sunlight, surely? Maybe there was a clearing up ahead or something. The garden should open up any minute now... She glanced at the ground as she walked, both to check on the direction of the footprints, and to make sure they were even still there and hadn't veered off, and to keep an eye out for roots and vines.
