Renathan finally won over the door at the very least, and now he had both of the orbaru in his hands. At the very least he wanted to get as much done today as possible, at the very least. He did have a lot to do otherwise; but he had to actually do this as well, and it would probably take them forever to be able to get this done, especially since Howie was incredibly picky with his mates and literally everything else. Still, Renathan was convinced that he would get this done, even if it did take them all day. Renathan took through the door as quietly as possible, not wanting to disturb any of the people within the breeding center, at least. He shut the door behind him, and it was just nearly on his tails. He managed to get them from in between the door and the wall at least though, and he was fine. Renathan stood at the end of the line, and looked down it. It was indeed a super long line, and Renathan had not been excited even considering a long line, let alone that actually being what was going to happen today at the very least.

Renathan was not at all expecting to really have to wait this long, and he was a bit sad about it. That was what he got for cutting through the park in fact; he probably should have waited or something. Renathan frowned softly, but stood in the line anyway. He was so glad that he had his mask, so it was super hard for anyone to ascertain his facial expressions and such. Howie was still acting up, and Renathan was already rolling his eyes about the entire situation as it was going on. Standing in the line with an orbaru that was acting up was really no help to anyone, it would be annoying to everyone around them. In fact the tiny, pale white hooded fellow was already annoying Kingfisher. Now Renathan didn't have a lot of experience watching the orbaru specifically for signs of intelligence or anything, but he did in fact watch the orbaru a lot, enough to know that Kingfisher seemed pretty smart and all. She was looking with an incredibly grump expression over to the male. Renathan hoped to high goodness that he wasn't ruining his chances with the much tougher female by being whiny today and annoying her.

Well, at the very least Renathan was getting progress done, even if it didn't feel like much progress at all. Renathan stood there in the back of the line feeling as useless as ever, frowning the entire way. He kept himself from griping about it out loud, this was normal after all, it was normal to wait and all. Everyone else in the line was waiting, in example. The ones before him numbered to twelve, he could count from here, with his tails tipping at each and every interval. Renathan waited and waited of course, as patient as he possibly good, tapping his foot here and there but silently, trying not to draw any intentions around here. After a while, the small creatures that Renathan had with him quieted down for a single second before breaking out into a booping contest, or perhaps even a bit of a scuffle, verbally at least. Kingfisher actually sounded angry or aggravated, and Renathan could tell that from how much he had managed to actually be around her. However, Howie seemed more intimidated than actually angry himself. Renathan was not exactly surprised by this. Howie had not near the constitution of the much larger female.

Time felt like it was moving slower and slower for the poor mammalian. The day was quite sucky already and he knew that it really only got worse from here. He really just hoped that he wouldn't have to spend too long in the line, or in the waiting room. Maybe something would happen, and most of these people would be just... Here for pachee or something? Renathan hadn't really thought of that before, and he kept his place in line while sort of leaning to get a good look around the people for a moment. He squinted, trying to get a good line of sight, but it was just no use. The people just in front of him all had pachee though, and somewhere beyond them in the line he could even see a lotine, which was a really good set of luck! Speaking of that, he really needed to take Princess out this month for a simple breeding. He was sort of collecting lola for a bit of a business venture, and she was a great lotine. She was slowly beginning to warm up to him too, though it was very slow going thus far. He can still hear the annoying orbaru booping inside of their containers at one another.

There were only so many things that Renathan could do to make his little waiting game more bearable, and sadly he just didn't have a lot he could do at the moment regardless. Standing here was the only thing he could do, and it was beginning to sound more and more like he wouldn't have a valid pair here if the two kept fighting. It was a true and right mess, and Renathan had no idea what to do about them. If he was sure that they were going to breed, they would be given the berries already just to shut up. However, Renathan wasn't sure if that was ever going to be the case, seeing as they couldn't even get along in their carriers! He wondered what orbaru could even argue about, could they even argue? These two were practically driving him up the wall though, and they weren't even through with the ordeal yet! Thankfully, the line moved up one person, and Renathan watched as someone with a battle orbaru wound up scooting away. Ah, well, at least he would have had to wait on that individual no matter what happened! They were rushed to the back, leaving him with a booping mess.

Renathan sighed to himself, not loudly at all to keep from bothering the other folks that were waiting just as long as he was. He was super annoyed that his two orbaru were causing trouble. It was making the people in front of him cause even more of a ruckus because they kept turning back to see what was going on. "Come on you two, quit making a fuss. You're making everyone in the building look at us funny." He murmured quietly to them, trying to get them to pay attention, but no dice. He probably would not breed this pairing again, just because they were super big messes when they were together. Howie was a bit of a particular creature, more a delicate princess than an orbaru, and little Kingfisher was a kingpin herself, refusing to not have things go her way. Renathan was more than frustrated with the entire development. Would they even breed today? Did they even have time to get this done? Renathan had no idea, but was already pretty much steaming mad when the line moved again. Just what was taking so long really? The people were getting ushered back as soon as they got done with the paperwork...

Renathan did take a note of that, but he didn't bank on it. They'd run out of open rooms after three orbaru folks, after all, since to Renathan's knowledge they tended to shift in groups of threes, at least every time he had been back here. Renathan tried not to sigh out loud and managed to make it look more like a yawn; not that a yawn is much better in the circumstances. The person right in front of him turned around to just kinda glance him over, expression carefully guarded. Renathan felt a little sheepish, perhaps, but he didn't really read into it too much. He didn't know any of these people, and definitely didn't interact with them on a daily basis or anything that would make this sort of thing a cause of concern. He glanced down to his orbaru, frowning, but thankfully the 'argument' seemed to be winding down. What he was not thankful for, was that Howie was being a mess, shaking and making sad boops. Great, wonderful. Exactly what Renathan needed. He wouldn't be surprised if the pair refused to breed now, and that would be horrible. He'd been on his way here for so long!

Ugh, today was just getting worse and worse. However, Renathan was pretty relieved that he was at least here. If the pair didn't wind up breeding, then he could just go home and call it quits for a bit. Renathan was pretty tired today already anyway. These sorts of things just really wore on him, he wasn't usually one to get annoyed really easily but- oh okay, sure, he got annoyed really easily. It was kind of amazing that he was even able to breed orbaru at this rate. Orbaru were not the sharpest tacks in the box, and that wasn't even a problem for the mammalian. It was this sort of stuff, the walk to the breeding center was a long one and he wasn't about to just ride a creature here. That would probably cause more trouble than it was worth, since they didn't have a stable park like most places did so that people could park mounts and shop. He figured that the long walk did keep him a lot healthier at least though, and that was a good thing all around. That being said, Howie NEVER did well on these walks, and Kingfisher mostly just slept through them.

Renathan was going to at least try today, no matter what. He may not have all the time in the world, but he had other things to do and this was getting finished now. Even if the pair didn't breed, he was going to at least try. Still, he was quite emotionally exhausted on his feet. The line slipped forward a bit at a time, and Renathan felt like he was left standing there forever and a half. He tapped his foot, his tail tips twitched, he even twisted his ears back and forth every now and again whenever he heard a sound that might be interesting. He glanced out the front glass doors when he thought he heard an ice-cream cart, and what do you know, it was an ice cream cart drawn by a nice big Clydesdale-looking equillion. Renathan looked at it's brushy furred legs, and sort of missed Shy Guy back at home. He frowned a bit, beneath his mask, and kinda stared for a moment, until the ice-cream cart drove away. He hadn't even noticed the line inch forward a little bit! He scooted forward a tad, and glanced over his sullen looking orbaru. Yeesh, today was going to get worse, right?

Renathan's stressed out moments were passing more and more as time went on, or at least more quickly, and were concurring with a little less frequency though it was still quite a bit. He couldn't help but be a little sad about the whole put thing, even now that the blasted tournament was over. If he ever stepped into the pit it would be a day too soon. Renathan couldn't help but feel a hole in his heart for his beloved Shy Guy, and he felt like a terrible person for putting him through all of that. He was exhausted. Emotionally, spiritually, sometimes physically, just from looking at Shy Guy. However, he was going to pick up, both of them were going to be stronger, even if it was the last thing he ever did. But they were NEVER going to step foot in the pit again. That place was horrid. Renathan stood there, thinking about that for so long that he didn't even notice his orbaru stop booping angrily at one another altogether, and now Kingfisher was just sitting there in her crate pouting while Howie hid his face under his paws. The line moved a bit, and that caused Renathan to snap out of it.

It always seemed to Renathan that time was going slowly, too slowly, for him anyway. He wondered if multiple people felt this, or if it was just something that was different with him and wrong with him. He wondered that sort of thing a lot anymore, now that he was grown and in Pethia. He didn't know if it was something about Pethia, or maybe something that had happened, or something he had learned, but the world was no longer really what he thought it was some time ago. He used to know who he was, who others were, what the world was all about, and the more he learned, the less he felt like he knew really. He scoots forward in line and then counts the number of people ahead of him. It looked like six, six was a darn large number as far as he was concerned. He glanced over to the door that showed the waiting room, and was surprised to see some sort of a slip of paper hanging there. He squinted, and read the thin, not quite dark enough letters to see what it said, just as Howie ran to the back of his container and knocked Renathan off balance.

Renathan fell back onto his hind end, with his waist sash raising up just a little bit (thankfully no one seemed to have noticed) and Renathan was just barely able to get Kingfisher sat down and Howie held closer to his chest before he hit the ground. Thankfully, it didn't seem to hurt either of the two orbaru, but Renathan's hind end felt pretty bruised. His tails had gotten caught in his leg a bit, and he had tripped up worse, and it had kinked the tip of one of his tails a bit. He didn't quite yelp, but everyone turned around (thankfully after his waist sash had settled back down where it needed to go) and stared at him for a moment. He really didn't even know how to answer because the whole situation just seemed so random, but Kingfisher was already looking at him like he was dumb. 'Oh, is everything all right? How are your orbaru?' Someone asked, ahead of him. "They're fine, we're fine. Just bruised ego is all." Renathan waved it off. Sure, he was sore and hurt a bit more than that, but not too badly. He would live, it wasn't really all that bad.

Renathan scrambled to get up, sitting both of the orbaru carriers on the ground to do so, and this time just left them on the ground faced towards one another. Howie was pretty well shell-shocked, but Renathan just was not having it today. He wasn't about to feed into his attitude, they had too much going on really for him to bother. Especially now since he had hurt himself. He gets up, careful to make sure that his waist sash stayed where it was supposed to, and he winced as he came up. His poor tail was smarting at the tips, and his hind end certainly did hurt. He wondered if maybe he could have just bruised it super bad. It would not really be shocking to him if maybe he did hurt it worse than that though. For now, he'd be okay though. He took the moment to lean in to get a better look at the sign on the door, and he saw that it said 'Out of Order'. So the waiting room was out of order? Why was that? It took him a moment to ascertain that it didn't mean that literally, as in it wasn't just chaotic or something.

Renathan had a pretty good grasp on common, but it was not always perfect all the time. The little sayings are mostly what got him, and that was the case right now as well. "Out of order, huh?" Renathan said, as he bent down, winced in pain, and picked up his orbaru carriers again. He was just going to have to watch them even more carefully than he had been before. Orbaru were little messes sometimes. Renathan noticed that the line was just down to two people ahead of him now, and he was quite glad for that. He didn't even know if his pair was going to breed today, with how much a mess they were being. He frowned beneath the mask, thankful that he felt free to do so since no one could see his face beneath the mask. He couldn't imagine living like the rest of the labs-folk, with their faces bared to the world. He had thought it lewd when he had first made it to Pethia, but now he felt much better about it. The people got done with their paperwork and waited, and then was ushered back quite quickly enough. Renathan hoped he would be soon.

It felt like it took forever, but of course, what is time whenever one is mortal but a ticking clock? Renathan glared at the clock across from him, and then at the waiting room door and the note upon it. This sucked, he had other stuff to do more than this, like Princess. Princess was going to need to come to the breeding center very soon after all, and he thought this would be a quick visit but of course he was wrong. He should have bred Princess first, since she was quicker, and then come to do this. Ah well, he'd just have to get it over with at the earliest possible continence. He stood there in the line until one other person was taken back, and it was his turn to do the paperwork. He moved forward, sat both orbaru down next to each other, and then quickly jotted down what he needed to. As soon as he was done, it was time to be taken back! He felt lucky, and worried at the same time. Would his pair even breed today? If they didn't, it would have been a huge waste of time and he didn't like to waste his time.
