Bixby asked his aunt in Layan if the strange lizardfolk had mentioned where he was from. That he was... being too secretive. You are being very rude to our guest, she told him sternly, in Layan. If he does not wish to share where he is from with you, you should drop the subject. Frowning, Bixby didn't press the subject. The plants finally mushed to a paste, Cortana made up a small amount of hydrated galabex jerky mixed with the tumeric and ginger. The cayenne she could use a bit later, because it might upset poor Poppy's stomach worse. The mixture in a metal dish, she turns away from the little counter and brings the food back to Siri and Poppy. Food? Shabh's nose picks up the smell of meat, of breakfast. He liked breakfast time. When the other puppies weren't fighting over it with him. But the food was too far for him to reach with this length of away from his new owner... 30 6/14 20.20 lv 54 Flare

To Flare's memory, some didn't appreciate being watched while attempting to feed a sick person, or sick animal. Initially the ssashirk wanted to know if the creature would even take to the food or not. But he felt a bit outsiderish with watching the human woman try to coax her daughter into feeding the mixture the 'scary lizard' had helped them make to make Poppy better. Every time she glanced in his direction, the girl would squeak in fear and hide in her cousin's shadow. Finally, he had enough. "I wait outssside." he excused himself and found his way outdoors, having to give Shabh a firm tug in order to coax him in the right direction that was outside. Cortana's inner thoughts held Flare as a poor child who just has a scary face. Once his tail has vanished through the door, Siri peeked out of the shadow and into the dish. Looks like meat treats. "These are for poppy to eat." she tells the child. Carefully, Siri reaches into the bowl and takes one out, offering it to the pup in her lap. Whut, food? Poppy's sense of smell hadn't dulled in the least, sniffing at her fingers, then glancing up. She smiles, speaks his food words and gives him the treat. Carefully, he eats it. Lapping it up. 31 1.20

Chewy. Very chewy. Oooh, was this galabex? He looooved galabex. Toss up between murp and galabex on which he liked better; though he wouldn't be apposed to trying snorfle or something exotic, like shabutau? The galabex has a very strong taste besides of meat, the taste is unfamiliar to Poppy's palate. His human mommy liked trying new foods a lot and his human girl would give him samples. New flavors seemed to arise as he continued to chew it, and it got spicy. Just a bit though, and finally the pup swallowed the meat. The meat juices and the mush run down the lane to reach his stomach... The humans are very concerned that the pup had taken so long to eat the meat piece. Almost as if he's waiting on if his stomach would handle the stress. A large paw bumps at the bowl in Cortana's hand, poppy giving her the 'feed me' whine. He wanted more. Oh thank goodness. She lets Siri put down the bowl and speak the magic food words, and Poppy twists himself around so he can chow down at long last. Bixby can see the twisted forward horn tips outside the window as the ssashirk and his own rakai are outside and probably skirting around Petunia, who had followed them out. 32 2.20

True to that, Cortana had asked Petunia to escort the ssashirk and his squashdog outside so the little dear could take his business to an appropriate bush. The black death rakai followed the pair outside at a slow lope, curious and a bit ill at ease over her human's ease of letting a stranger and their own pup step forth on her own territory. -Tree is Poppy's tree. Where we are told to go.- she growls at the pup when the three make it outside. Her deep vocals spook the youngling into hopping around his new master's feet, rather big reptile feet, and hiding briefly. -Make your business fast.- Wait, was she telling him to "go" go? or to 'go' go? Confused pup mind. Flare's inner gardener ~~planthoarder~~ had all eyes on the well trimmed bushes and small trees that made up the little yard. A large patch of grass that wasn't tall enough to have a grazer sat in front of the house. What an interesting yard; he'd never seen grasses used for decoration. Fields were wild and varied grasses; going to seed fast and the golden husks staying around until something either ate it or was overtaken by next years growths. 33 3.20

The door opened behind the three, and Cortana came out, accompanied in the shadows by Bixby; but Flare could smell him, he had a scent that could just be 'found'. Not that Flare relied on his sense of smell like a dog, certainly not. "Poppy ate up all the food we made up for him. Only time will tell if he gets better, I guess. Do you have time to drop by again in a week or so?" Was she inviting him back?! Petunia found this to be not a good idea. She barked at the question, growling a bit. Putting her opinion in this. But her human barks back, a sharp bark. The black rakai's ears flatten a bit as she gives the lizard and his pup a look of 'i don't trust u'. Flare had no idea really how to answer; he'd not been reinvited anyplace in his youth, and not now. Or... no that wasn't true. Some people he'd met in Pethia had offered to reinvite him. Bixby spoke in his elegant Ssakash of the measurements of what they had created previously. [ Do I have this properly? ] [Eeess. Twise daee, night. On weekuh.] the drake answered him back in Ssakash. "I come in one wheekuh." 34 4.20

One week later The whole week had been full of experimentations for Flare; of how to interact with having a meat eater in his garden. Aside from himself, but his majik neckwear gave him only enough for one. Not willing to go through starving again, the drake tried to offer the puppy some worms to eat. Worms were kept and almost farmed for Castor, when the dragonoak didn't forage for them himself. Shabh put his nose up to the first one; it smelled bad to his nose. Granted, even Flare wasn't willing to stoop low enough and eat worms. Were they even edible to a ssashirk? A place for the pup to 'go' and do his business needed to be established, and well away from his plants. He picked out a space in the back edge of the garden, a slight incline that could take the increased acidity of the soil from... 'going'. He'd been counting moonrises; tomorrow would be the day to return to Cortana and check on Poppy. He hoped that the pup was doing better... really really hoped it. 35 7/15 5.20
