Grace was just that, graceful, peaceful, ladylike, but when it came to her brother, he just got her so mad! He knew how to push her buttons, but that's what brothers did, she was told. She laid out in front of the cavern, basking in the light of the stars and wondering where the others were. The cavern was empty, Hemma was obsessed with that new Draconic she had met, so even she was out of the cavern. All of the babies were now fully grown, even Hemma's, and she wondered what was going to happen. Her brother wanted nothing to do with offspring, and she couldn't blame him really, he was too much of a feisty one, he would never settle down. A few flings here and there, but a father? That would never happen, she would wind up having the babies and they would all think she was their mother, even though she barely had any yellow on her at all! She sighed again, was there no good way to pass the time in a dignified, ladylike fashion? 1/25

Lich hadn't really expected to find himself slinking from the clan hall after dinner. It wasn't that he had thought he'd ever want to stay there. His father made him so angry; he was just so... Bright. Lich wasn't anything like that. He liked the shadows the best. Lich moved along the wall the best he could. He didn't want the rest of the family to see him go. He wasn't really planning on coming back. It was time for him to make his own lineage. There was already a patriarch in his birth clan, and he couldn't dethrone the old russet lashak. Pah! He would go and make a clan of his own, or maybe take over another clan. He wanted to make others like him, his own line of youngsters and those that would be beneath his own control. But he would have to find a female to do that, and that was going to take some... Work. He was ready for it; whatever he had to do. [2]

She was bored, maybe that was it. Maybe all she had to do was find someone to talk to. Grace sat up and looked around with a small, dainty sigh. She didn't know what to do, and that was the issue. Nothing was going to just come to her, she had to go out and find it, even Hemma had left the cavern from time to time, so what was she doing? Grace stood up with determination and then started to pad along to the side of the cavern, carefully picking her way down to the bottom of the canyon, wondering what might lay in store for her. It wasn't like it was hard for things to happen, but that was the best of it she figured. She sighed a little to herself and then paused, one foot in the air, as she saw a soft glow coming from beyond the curve in the wall. What was that, a Shalaya?

Lich had always been a little... Uh, different than the rest of the clan under the patriarch. Everyone else seemed too gung-ho, too fine with being lorded over by that stuff old coot. Blegh. It also didn't help that he was the only Kitava he knew that had grown up to glow. Like a Shalaya. Of course, father was a shalaya, but that didn't mean anything to him. In fact, he wouldn't miss his father. He'd thought about going wherever his mother lived and taking over there, but meh, he thought, what would he do lording over a clan that had relatives of him in it? He needed a female, to further his lineage. Or maybe two. Hmm, he'd see after he found the first one. He just wasn't sure if he'd be quicker finding a female first and then building around that, or taking over a group first. He turned around, feeling like he had heard something behind him... What was that? He squinted his eyes and furrowed his brow.

There was a pause in the glow and Grace crept closer, feeling rather sneaky and unlike her at the moment. She frowned at herself and then drew herself up to her full height and nodded at the Draconinc in front of her. He glowed like a Shalaya, but he was... a Kitava? That was strange, but he must have the other in his lineage then. "Hello sir, my name is Grace. May I inquire to what you are doing this evening?" she asked daintily, sitting there and flicking her tail back and forth. Of course she could do some damage if she needed to, but she preferred not to have to, so hopefully he would be friendly. Surprisingly, he was colored similarly to her, though she couldn't recall a Kitava in her own history, though it was possible she had forgotten someone. Oh, had she forgotten someone? How embarrassing would that be!

Lich was very, very sure that something was behind him. However, he wasn't able to see it right away. He squinted, trying to see over his own glowy wings, and then saw it. A shalaya? But with no glow? What? He could see her more clearly now, and could see that in fact, she was female. Huh, what an interesting pale color; but her wings were green. She was no regular shalaya, that was for sure. Immediate covetousness stole over him like a thief in the night, though he caught it red-handed. Grace, huh? And a lady, at that. Very intelligent, seeing as she could speak. He had been born speaking common, of course. He had shalaya in his own blood on his father's side after all. He immediately slipped into sinister 'gentle-manliness'. He knew what he was after. Perching on too-delicate kitava claws, looking as gentile as he could, Lich smirked cunningly. "Oh a bit of this, a bit of that... What Is a lady like you out here, this time of course..." He tapped the rock as he surveyed her with gleaming eyes.

Oh, what a gentlemanly answer! Though filled with riddles, and as unladylike as it might be, she did enjoy the occasional riddle. She smiled and bowed her head to him, "Good evening sir. I was simply taking a walk near the cavern when I happened to see your glow tonight. If I may be so bold, would you have Shalaya in your blood?" Grace tilted her head, she was a little too inquisitive for her own good sometimes, but at least she was polite about it and left the other a way out if he wouldn't prefer to answer the question. Some people were a little more upset about their heritage than others, though she didn't see the appeal in that. She was a Shalaya who happened to not glow, thanks to her Makiyan parent, the parent her brother had taken after at hatching. She was neither happy nor upset that she did not glow, it simply was, and she was content.

Lich made sure to tilt his body at all the right intervals. It was natural for him, figuring out how to 'have emotional reactions' like he should when he pretends to be someone like this. He looks absolutely very much like he was supposed to. "It is a good evening indeed, to be in the presence of such a high-born lady." He said, looking at her after her words. Yes, yes, draw her in first, then you'll have her, he told himself. "Yes I do, in fact, my lady. As do you- but that isn't all..." He trails off, pretending to think for a moment, tapping his chin, watching her out of the corner of an eye as if he can't just take his eyes off of her. "Perhaps, with that green, you have Makiyan? Or maybe Kitava yourself? Hmm... Such a noble lineage I am sure." He says, slyly. He was sure that it would be a decent thing to start her off by buttering up, and then crack the whip, so to speak. Get her hot blooded, maybe?

Another smile, and Grace bobbed her head a little, "Oh I'm not sure I'm as high born as I seem. My brother seems to have gotten the rebelliousness of the family, to be certain. I simply enjoy my walks." She brought a paw up to her cheek as she thought of it, and glanced at her wings, fluttering them to the sides of herself so she could see them a little better, "Makiyan indeed, well noticed, sir! Most simply see my white body and guess Galathan, though..." Grace paused a moment and then leaned in a little conspiratorially, "Some ask if I have a Malavos as a parent, the very idea!" She pretended to be offended, though there was nothing wrong with those Draconics at all, she just didn't see how a delicate lady such as herself could be parented by one of the more stocky Draconics out there. She wasn't sure her heart could handle working as they did, she considered herself a little more noble than that, and put herself to her sewing and books.

Oh, there. She was smiling, he had caught it. Good, good, it was going nicely. He pretended to listen to her with interest, but he was really just looking to pick it apart. "Oh, you? Not High-born?" He looks concerned for a moment, looking her over. "I don't believe you. Surely it's not true." He smirked inwardly, but kept it all the same to himself. "Oh, your walks? Sounds like you should join me, then. I can't let you go on without an escort, it is becoming of your grace." He said, feigning concern for her. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it. Though I am sure I have a bit of galathan in there somewhere. Brutish fellows, but the shalaya made up for it in the woodpile." He said, conversationally. "A malavos?!" He said, incredulously, hand to his chest, and then the other brought to his forehead. "No one that is delicate such as you should have one in your background!" He said, backhandedly complimenting her.

Grace simply waved it off with a smile, "Oh no, I wouldn't dare impose when you have your own areas to be in the canyon. I may not look it, but with a brother such as mine, I have grown up able to defend myself if necessary. I may be small, but I'm able to create quite a sting!" Giving a small, delicate laugh, she looked at him happily, she couldn't believe her luck, finding such a gentleman, however, and she wondered if he might truly be interested in becoming her escort occasionally? It would do to have some company sometimes, someone who didn't live inside the cavern as of yet. "Ah!" she exclaimed with a smile, "If I recall, a great grandparent of mine was a Kitava. The green must have made it's way down the line to me! I do think it's rather striking, is that vain of me to think so? I've not seen very many other Draconics quite like me. And now you!"

Oh, imposing, huh? He had to think for a quick half a breath to figure out how to get her to let him. He needed more time to really seal the deal. "Oh no no, I insist!" He said, keeping his voice as smooth as possible. "You must let me, though I know you have quite a bit of power, surely." He said, looking her up and down and tapping his chin again. "Oh no, you simply must. Perhaps I need protection, as well?" At that, he had to suppress a chuckle. It was really had on him to not laugh, there. Like he needed help. Oh, so he was right! Kitava too, right? "Of course, green is simply the best color, and even your facial marking is green. Absolutely stunning, of course, I was expect nothing else." Keep it in, boy. He told himself. Keep it in, don't snark at her yet. She could still get up and go... Had to snare her in some more.

Another dainty laugh escaped her, and she put up a paw to cover her muzzle at that. The giggle subsided and she sighed happily, at least he was entertaining, she was sure her brother would be insulting him at the moment, but she rather enjoyed his company. "Well then, if you insist. And I'm sure you can take care of yourself, why, I don't even have the capabilities of a breath! It's all physical and completely dreadful, though I suppose I could go through some of the cavern's tomes to find some magic. I do have the capabilities of performing quite a few feats of magical prowess, after all!" she exclaimed and motioned for him to join her with a smile. "Bright and dark greens are simply the best, the canyon doesn't have enough of it unless it's the wet season. That's the most dreadful season, it always sticks to my scales," Grace added with a nod.

Oh, no breath? Lich had to admit he was a bit clumsy as a child with his own; he didn't look like the kind of draconic that would have fire breath with his slate blue coloration. His father had told him that his mother was this color, and he was absolutely enamored with her. Probably why he was chosen by his father out of the nest. Blegh. He used to have difficulty with little sparks coming out as a kid. "Oh of course, of course..." he said, listening to her. "A breath isn't all it's cracked up to be at all, my lady." He said, his voice smooth as silky. "I am sure that you are quite skilled! Say, you must show me some things, I am blissfully ignorant. Not one of my kin has any access to such books. Though, a few have a few tricks up their sleeves." Dreadfully old and dodgy, though, but he didn't say such a thing to her. "Yes, you are quite correct about that. Just dreadful, dear, that you must endure such stickiness." He said, just about tripping over that. Hold it together, he said to himself. Just a bit more.
