Renathan was super glad that Princess was finally beginning to get more attached to him. In all honesty, the creature was quite decent, but Renathan needed to do this each month whenever she got 'ready'. Sadly, Renathan usually managed to forget about it until she was nearly ready to produce her lola, and then it was a wild scramble to get to the breeding center in time! Renathan had the magical fish stock all in a bag, well of course he had a breeding stock at home, but these were going to get Princess to follow him to the breeding center. He guides her from the gate and closes it before any animals could get out, and then he held a magical fish, waving it around. "Alrighty Princess, here we go!" Renathan said, his voice light. He needed to do this quickly, or he may not get a chance to do it again.

Well, at least not this month. Renathan hardly ever had any time to do anything anymore it seemed other than his job, but it was important to be a proper animal caretaker. To do that, it would be important to make sure that his lotine produced lola in a safe environment instead of into open air, which may wind up with terrible consequences if something were to go wrong... Not that it was common, in fact the most common thing was that the lola produced would simply go away, since they float from birth. Renathan guided her using the magical fish, just one in his hand for now, the rest in the bag. Princess had her pretty wet-looking eyes on the fish, as she always did. Would she ever begin really tolerating Renathan more than just basically? He really felt quite bad that he couldn't spend more time with her than he already did.

Renathan knew that this was an easy process, and would probably be easier if he wasn't always getting this at the last possible second. The last few lola that had been produced weren't his exact cup of tea, but that was fine, Renathan thought! He would be okay in the future, someday he would get a color that absolutely stunned him, and he was sure of that. He continued to wave his fish around, and back up, until Princess seemed to start to think that she wasn't about to get the fish; and she went to stop. "Ah - ah, ah, Princess, come on lady." Renathan said, tossing the fish at her, and then retrieving another. Hopefully she would finish that up and then continue following if Renathan continued to wave more fishes around. One at a time of course. Renathan waited until she finished, smacking her lips, and then she looked up at him.

Immediately, Renathan could see that she could see the magical fish in his hand. Yes, good, he thought. Maybe with any amount of luck she would start following again. He was right; she did begin following after him. He was backing up ever so slowly, and she was moving forward much like a walrus. It was amazing how lotine were often enough very graceful in the water, even extremely so, but horrifically ungraceful on land. However, they did need to get to the breeding center, and it wasn't like there were any kind of water-ways to have her move forward to the breeding center... There needed to be a better way of doing this. Thankfully, Lotien were 'ready' to produce lola, they weren't looking gravid like most creatures, heavy with eggs of young. Instead, it was her bud that made him think that she was ready (no, know that she was ready, not think.)

Lotine were lovely creatures, but Renathan wasn't sure if he wanted to have a ton of them, really. Princess was mostly enough for him. Someday, he figured, he'd retire her to a nice home, but she was still young and fine for now. Renathan knew that eventually, she'd probably stop producing, but she was fine at the moment. Renathan had almost gotten her to the breeding center, backing up slowly and waving the fish around while she followed in her walrus-like manner. Renathan tried to focus more on where they were going than her own movement and all. "Come on Princess, we're almost there, just a block more to go." He said. He was at the end of the road, and he could just turn his head to see it behind him as he walked backwards on the sidewalk with the lumbering but otherwise quite pretty creature following him over the fish he carried.

He wasn't sure if they were going to make it, but they were getting so close. He really wanted to get her into the breeding room that she was supposed to go to in order for the lola production to be sterile and all of that, but she might only just make it to the breeding center. That was the rough part, but he was sure that his attempt to get the creature into the breeding center at all would be accepted. Or at least that was what he was counting on, provided he didn't make it. Renathan redoubled his efforts to go more speedily, but he wasn't able to force Princess to move any faster at all. No one could really get a creature that was water-based to move about on the land any faster than it was physically able to, at the very least. Renathan knew that, but he was still nervous.

Renathan continued taking it step by step until finally the lotine stopped again, once again realizing that the creature was gonna refuse to move until she got the fish. Well, at the very least Renathan and Princess had a bit of an understanding at this point. Those first few months were pretty difficult entirely, with Princess hardly wanting to be around Renathan for anything at all save for the fish. However, this time she seemed to be meeting him more half-way than she had been, and that was good at the very least. "Great, good job Princess, here you go." Renathan said, tossing her a fish anyway, and then pulling yet another rainbow fish from the bag. He was really glad that he had brought a lot of these! Renathan started back up, and waited for her to look up and see him again. It didn't take very long for her to finish the fish.

Renathan could already see the lotine start acting stressed; and he knew what that meant. Horridly, Renathan got her attention now that she was finished with yet another fish, and then took a step back, and then another step back. The lotine quickly got her attention on the fish again despite her slight increase in breath. They were only a few feet from the door, and Renathan really needed to get them into the building! He quickly waved the fish around, and Princess began walrus-moving towards him again, a little more slowly. Dang, Renathan thought. Renathan had indeed really started to get this done right up against the grindstone. Way too late and towards her really being ready. Dang, Renathan thought, this needed to be done immediately. Renathan feels so much calmer now that he could feel the door up against his back, and he grabs the knob and turns it, opening the door.

Renathan took the fish and did the thing he usually did with it; they tossed it into the breeding center just close to the door. Enough to get the lotine to know that she needed to go into the door; or at the very least to just go into to grab the fish. As soon as the lotine was in the room, Renathan shut the door behind them after stepping in behind her. Thank goodness, he thought. Princess was gonna be fine, even if she 'popped' a lola right here, she was gonna be fine at least. Renathan could have wiped his forehead with the back of his wrist if not for the mask. He was immediately seen by one of the breeding center helpers, that tsked at him since obviously Princess was gotten here at the very last second. Renathan and Princess were lead to a lotine room for her immediately.

Renathan was so glad that they had not only managed to get here in time, but apparently with enough time to get her into the room without too much more difficulty. Thank goodness, Renathan thought! He sighed out a relieved breath as the door opened and they were ushered in. He was able to ignore the whole issue with the dirty looks he got for tossing the fish. He didn't mind, it didn't cause too many issues, being in the walkway where people's feet dirtied up the room anyway. The lotine slides immediately into the water, looking much more comfortable now, and Renathan was so glad that she was. She was getting labored, and it looked like her blossom was beginning to close up. Yup, the berry would be produced soon; really soon. Thankfully, she was much more serene and calm than she used to be, and she looked over to Renathan for support.
