What a nice geode! The other stone, however, could only be seen by an expert mining eye!

Vary was surprised when he broke apart the rock and found nothing inside, he was sure there was something there he figured with a little frown on his face. He glanced over at the rubble under the woman and then tilted his head and grabbed another rock after tossing the two halves of the old rock aside. He was sure there was something somewhere, something in him called to himself he thought, and it was part of this whole thing he figured. Still though, he didn't know what it was he was looking for, but he knew that he would know it when he saw it he figured. Jack glanced over at him briefly and smiled when she saw him snag the rock. Something had clicked in him she thought at least, and he was willing to try a little bit in order to figure out what to do. It was going to be fine, she figured with a smile.

Jack just hoped that things would go well for her at the moment. Herself and for Vary, really, she hoped they would connect to each other after awhile and all that, and she wasn't sure what to expect from things at the moment. Jack shook her head a little and smiled, of course things would be fine she thought, and she didn't know what else to think of at the moment. Chuckling a little, she wasn't sure what to do about things right now except to look for more stones, and that was fine all around. Ah well, things would get better she thought as time went on. She didn't know what else to do at the moment either, but to keep digging. It was like she was single minded at the moment and all that, but that was fine alright. It didn't matter about things for now, but she was fine no matter what.

She had enough rocks out of the wall at this point and put her pickax away so she could sit down and sift through the rocks at her feet. She wished she had Grim with her, but she understood why she did it this way she figured with a little sigh as she looked over at Vary. He was still looking at the rock he was holding now and trying to figure out how to get it open. He wasn't quite as smart as a Felusine, but it was interesting seeing him work with things at the moment. Jack smiled a little and reached out to pat him on the head, even though he recoiled a little again. They weren't well enough bonded for her to show affection like that just yet she figured, but she was still going to try no matter what and all that, it was going to be fun.

Jack settled down for a little while of looking through the rocks as Vary still tried to figure out his own rock at the moment. It was going to go great for the two of them eventually, she knew it, though the odd halfbreed wasn't so sure of the same thing. If it was up to him he would be home doing nothing at all with the woman he figured, but here he was and he was recognizing a few of the words she was saying to him every now and then, which was concerning as well. He just didn't know what to do with himself when it came to her, but he was sure there would be something eventually, he just didn't know what it was going to be. Whatever, it didn't matter he figured as he tried to break apart the rock as he looked around at it a little bit.

It was like being with someone who didn't trust you at all, even though they'd been together for a little bit of time at this point. She sighed a little as she looked over at him, resting her head against the bubbly wall due to the rocks and things that were sticking out at the moment. She sighed a little bit and shook her head, she didn't know what to do about things at the moment and that was fine she thought as she wondered what to do about things. It wasn't like there was a full answer on how to bond with the halfbreed, but she wished there was at the moment. Jack reached out for him for a moment and then pulled her hand back again before she touched him, she didn't want to freak him out too much still at the moment. She was still trying to build a rapport with him, she didn't need to do that.

Such pretty stones; one was a mottled blue, and the other a nearly glowing amber color (but it wasn't amber of course!).

Vary wasn't the best companion, Jack thought to herself as she went to the mines again with one of her halfbreeds. She couldn't wait to work with some of her other ones, but she knew Vary would get her some good stuff eventually. Honestly, she just had to get him to that point, she figured with a little sigh in her voice. Oh well, it didn't really matter at this point, which was fine by her, and she smiled a little as Vary rode in the cart she pulled along behind her for now. She didn't think they would go in too deeply today, just in case, plus it looked like it was going to storm outside and all that, so she wanted to make sure nothing was going to fall on them as they worked. If they were near the entrance, there was less of a chance of that happening, she figured.

Maybe her logic was flawed, but that shouldn't matter she figured with a little sigh as she tugged the cart behind her. At least she should come out with some nice rocks, or a familiar she could break down after a little while. Jack laughed a little, she was a terrible person, but it was alright when all was said and done, that's why they had started to offer that service at The Underground. It only made sense, otherwise people would be up to their ears in familiars, kind of like she had been for a little while. But then she had paid Gig to take them to break them apart and all had been well. At least she'd gotten several nice stones from them, but she traded a lot of them recently to Renathan for something, so she didn't have as big of a hoard as she used to, hence why she was in the mines.

Vary didn't care what was happening as long as he didn't need to be outside of the cart at this point. Jack knew that's what he was thinking as he clicked to himself inside of the cart, but that wasn't going to work out for her at the moment. It was fine, she just wanted to know what was going on with life at the moment, and that was fine as well. All she had to do was get to mining and then all would be well again, she was sure things would be fine at least. Maybe they wouldn't be, maybe she was fooling herself, but that was fine too. At least she had an idea of what to do at the moment, even though it was a little skewed. Jack wanted to find more stones as well as socializing her new familiar. It was fine though, she knew, Vary would get used to her in time.

She had to admit though, mining was a little boring. That was fine though, as long as she had Vary with her then things would be fine, though she knew the halfbreed would duck and run at the first sign of trouble. That was the issue with bringing animals who didn't care about you to the mines or someplace like that at this point. Jack sighed a little, it was fine, she didn't know what was going to happen for the moment and all that, but she hoped to find some good stones, maybe some crystals or something, that would be nice! Giving anything for some order crystals at this point, she knew it was a long shot, but she already had one of them, she just needed eight more. That shouldn't be too hard, right...? Oh it was going to be tough and she just didn't want to admit it to herself.

Vary wasn't too concerned with things at the moment as long as he was kept inside of the cart. Every now and then he would scratch at the door, trying to open it and escape, but he knew there wasn't a lot of places he could run to at the moment. So he did what any self respecting animal would do and fell asleep for awhile until the bumping along in the wagon stopped. Jack smiled at the cart, she knew he was sleeping at this point, they always did whenever they got this far, and she stopped to look around. It had been well mined already, but that didn't matter at the moment. Jack pushed her hair back and then pulled it back with a tie and then smiled. Even though it had been worked for awhile, she could feel something, which made her unbelievably happy at the moment. Maybe she would find her crystals.

Jack just hoped they'd be able to find something, and with Vary's help, she was sure that would happen. Of course maybe it would be more fruitful if she had brought Goran or Grim, but Vary needed some experience in the mines as well. Smiling to herself, she whistled a little tune until they got to the spot she wanted to stop at. Jack opened the door to the cart to see a grumpy halfbreed and chuckled a little to herself, reaching out gently to touch him, but he flinched away again. At some point he wouldn't do that, but she didn't think it would be anytime soon or anything. Hopefully before they were finished in the mines he would be alright with her, but she didn't want to hold her breath with that. Ah well, it was fine for now she figured, as she got out her pick and shovel before turning to start working on the wall.

The wall opened up a little easily, and Vary poked his head out of the cart to see what she was doing. He felt something odd out there, but he didn't want to alert her just yet, if he did at all at this point. Jack glanced back at him, feeling the thrumming of a crystal in the wall, but not wanting him to know that she already knew. If he felt he could hide something from her, he should go ahead and try it for awhile, she figured. Maybe it would help if he was the one to find whatever crystal was back there, she really hoped it was an order crystal, she still needed quite a few of them. Some had been traded by The Trader but she hadn't been quick enough. That was perfectly fine she figured with a little smile, and she pushed her hair back before digging into the wall again.
