Rat's Blessing - costs 1 trait points
You are in general - double jointed.. Squeezing through tight spaces is much easier for you, and it's hard for a person or creature to grab a hold of you - you always seem to wiggle your way out of their grip.(5)
Really Short - gives a bonus of 1 trait point
You're much shorter than the "normal" of your species - making it much harder to reach the top shelf for sure. It's more difficult for you to run - but easier for you to dodge your foes. You get a permanent +1 bonus to dexterity, and a -2 penalty to strength. *cannot be taken with "really big".(6)
Wolverine's Rage - costs 6 trait points
You have a warrior's blood - and can fight like a wolverine, far past the normal limitations of the body.. you remain conscious, even after you've reached 0 stamina.. in fact, you can keep fighting until you reach -5 stamina.. but -10 stamina is still death.(0)
Color Blind - gives a bonus of 1 trait point
You cannot see colors properly.. Green and Blue often look too similar to tell apart - and sometimes, you confuse purple with orange. How sad for you. **If you are human, you can only take this if your character is male - otherwise, any gender can take this trait.
(1)
Disfiguring Scar - gives a bonus of 2 trait points
There is some (or several) horrible scar that marks your body - usually in some very visible place. People will often shun you, though you're not sick - and it's hard to get along in a crowd.(3)
Dark Secret - gives a bonus of 2 trait points
Perhaps you killed somebody long ago... perhaps you set fire to your old house.. whatever it may be, it would surely cripple you in society if anyone were to find out about it, and you go through great lengths to protect that secret.(5)
Linguist - costs 5 trait points
You can easily pick up other languages - and, if hanging around a group of people speaking another language long enough, you're bound to pick up enough of it within a week to get along.. Not always well - but .. along well enough.

DESCRIPTION
[Reference image (No Color)]
Zin stands at a very underwhelming child's height, but that does not count the feisty little mammalian out. She seems to be some sort of rodent, with long ears that stand straight up, feathering towards the base. Her visage is short-snouted, but rounded in appearance, and tufts of longer fur adorn the bottom of her jawline, these longer tufts of fur lead to the base of her ears. The mammalian seems to sport a mane much like that of a lion-headed rabbit, she keeps it well-groomed and silky smooth to the best of her ability.
Her chest is flat, and she seems slender, but is actually a fairly average weight for her size. Her legs are pretty muscular, hinting towards a linage involving something leaning towards a rabbit or possibly small kangaroo, but her feet say "rabbit" is somewhere in there when paired with the fact of her mane being so fluffed. Her tail is long and muscular, she is able to control it's movements if she feels the need to, however she often times does not do so and lets it hover just above the ground, allowing longer fur to touch the ground and muddy itself on a fairly regular basis if the ground is wet.
A scar is apparent from the bottom of her jaw on the left, it twists its way across her back, down onto her arm and ends near her right hand around the wrist, this area is furless, and is often extra-reddened when Zin is exerting herself, a stark contrast to her silvery white-and-brown fur streaked with blueish markings. She usually does not disclose what this mark is, or when or how it occurred, but it is apparent at times that this old wound sometimes causes discomfort to her.
Eyes: Blue
Fur: white base, brown marble markings, blue "crackling" and striping
PERSONALITY
It's hard to pin down exactly what Zin is. To some she's very comfortable, and will chat and interact happily. To others she will become extremely reserved, and seek to flee as soon as she is able to. She is generally aggressive towards newcomers and possessive towards what she sees as hers, as if shes afraid of losing items, people, or beasts to some perceived enemy. This makes her hot-headed and quick to anger if she seems to be under the impression that she's about to lose something.
Underneath that aggressive shield there seems to be a generally calm mammalian, calculating, almost unnaturally intelligent despite her obliviousness to obvious issues with her plans. She seems to have a degree of self-confidence dealing with animals, unfortunately it does not carry to dealing with other beings.
HISTORY
"Where do you think we go when we die, little rat?" The question itself would always haunt her. After all, it was the beginning of her new life, and the only time she had ever let her temper out of control. Zin hails from a city far away, where she was already an outcast, no one would ever miss her if she were to disappear. The mammalian was a mistake, born to a pair of lower-class citizens... a fancy word for an indentured servant bound by their master's will for more workers. A grotesque thing that only reached a child's height. She was then kept as a pet instead of a servant, expected to be, and treated as, an animal and less than a being. She grew to resent the master of the house, but grew close to his son, a nice boy who taught her how to read and write skills that were unheard of for one of 'her kind'; it was a mess when his father found out, the boy wound up not losing much more than the respect of his father. She, on the other hand, lost the roof over her head, was banished to the lower levels of the city with the others of her kind.
There things were no better. She was useless to them, lived on the streets instead of with the family groups. She was called a pet and softpelt, things that her peers considered to be slurs and bad omens. Her health began to deteriorate, she was skinny, weak, a burden to those around her. Things were looking bleak for the mammalian, and she struggled to find a place in this messed up society that she was born to, until she saw a familiar face. The boy that had been her friend had defied his blood and come to find his companion. He whisked her back into the city, nursed her back to health behind his family's back, and showed her that not everything was as terrible as her dice roll had seemed to give her. Her short stature made her less than even the servants that looked after the upperclass of the city, but it also meant that she could lead a different life. Unlike himself, or his family, or the family that had refused her, she could leave and chase her own rabbits if she wanted to. And that was the light at the end of the tunnel. She was fond of the boy, but he made it clear that his place was here, with his kin.
Eventually her presence was known by the master of the house. His rage was violent and immediate, he stormed the room, servants with weaponry in their hands to subdue to 'filthy beast' that was in his home. Zin panicked, fled through the house, avoiding her pursuers as best she could. Eventually her stamina failed, one of the mammalians caught her first, his claws latching onto her arm and poking small holes in her skin. She bit it out of fear, fleeing into the attic where she could make a last stand if she was found. This time it wasn't a mammalian that found her, it was the old man, his rage unhinging his judgement as he grabbed her by the scruff and tried to slice her throat. His aim was dreadful, he sliced her jaw instead, causing her to writhe in his grip and he dug the blade in, resulting in a major wound that would never heal properly, across her back and down her arm as they grappled in his attempt to slay the animal that his son had befriended.
She emerged wounded, but not out, she had managed to knock the man off from atop her between her kicking and her tail flailing about. She had somehow managed to break his arm between the two actions and he had dropped her while screaming in pain. She was wounded, fearful, could feel the rage of an animal bubbling up in her. She had options, she could flee but her bloody trail would give her away or she would bleed to death long before escaping. She could kill this man, but lose the friendship she had forged with the boy. She could show submissiveness and hope to be kept as a pet once more, feigning that she was an unintelligent animal and submitting to the humiliation that would surely follow.
Her time to think was cut short as the man was starting to be able to ignore the pain and was regaining composure. Her eyes widened and she hissed, showing her teeth in fearful aggression. "You think I fear death, rat?" he sneered, spitting in her direction "If I had my way I would have had you skinned long ago." A gasp from behind the man alerted her to the boy's presence. "Now you'll see, boy, what teaching an animal it's more than just that leads to" he grabbed the knife with his other hand and approached her again, cornering Zin easily in this space. Last stand.
It happened too quickly for her to think. The mammalian launched herself from the corner, a guttural roar emitting from her maw as she did so. She bowled the man over, clawing at him and kicking at his chest with clawed feet. She had caught him off guard, perhaps he had thought his little speech would have stopped her from reacting through fear alone. She stopped when he stopped moving a moment, wracked with gasps for air and bleeding profusely. The thing that had broken her rage, the scream from the boy across the room. She looked up wide-eyed, he had seen it all, the man approaching her threateningly, his attempt to destroy her, and worst of all her retaliation. A hand reached up for her throat, grabbing weakly at the collar about her neck and drawing her face down to his. "Where do you think we go when we die, little rat?" he spat into her face "Where-ever that might be. I'll see you there." something snapped in her mind and she slashed at his throat a few more times, ending the man's life. When she looked up from the carnage the boy was gone, and she didn't blame him, perhaps he even went to the authorities and told them that she had killed his father.
She spent a few hours up there, licking her wounds and wondering if the blood loss would kill her. It did not, it would have if the wound had been any deeper initially, ultimately it would scar. But Zin had bigger fish to fry, she would leave, there was nothing here for her except the boy, and there was no way he would be seen with the beast that killed his father.
The sun sank before she slipped out the back of the building, skirting the fence and disappearing into the night, she would never see this place again.
It took several years to arrive in this land. In that time she had time to think about the beginnings she had come from, and forgive herself for what she had done to that man that had terrorized her throughout her youth. She had survived by abusing the fact that she appeared to be a child, and by using the kindness of strangers travelling away from that place. She hunted other small animals and gathered berries to feed herself, learning by trial and error and spending plenty of nights having accidentally poisoned herself with the local flora. No friends were made along this path, there was no need for it.
She spent much time under the stars and eventually found herself looking at a new city. This place, she could start new here, as long as she kept -that- incident a secret.
