To say Renathan was panicking was an understatement. Once he had made his way to the branch, he was simultaneously not sure what to do, and trying to do everything all at once. The first idea was 'move the log' and then an immediate 'wait no, no no don't move it, she'll bleed out'. Then he dropped to his knees, and thought 'there is so much blood' and 'what' all at once. "Jack!" He hollered, perhaps too loudly for being so close to her, and then a quieter, but still panicked "Jack!" Renathan watched the particularly macabre scene where Jack appeared to figure out what had happened to her, and Renathan didn't know what to do.
He immediately leaned forward and tried to pull his magic together, he figured that touching her would cause a lot of issues; or more, but he needed to be able to give her some kind of a boost. Renathan focused his abilities while leaving the 'fire' out, forcing it into a neutral form, and then thought 'she needs to make it for a bit longer' before letting it go, and immediately thinking 'that is so much blood' before repeating the action. Renathan could feel the magic drain out of him for each pulse. He didn't know if it would help, or work, or for how long it might stabilize her.
Renathan reached out quietly, finally putting a hand on her shoulder as gently as he possibly could. "J-Jack, I uh, we got to do something." He was try very hard to calm himself down and not panic. She did not need someone panicking around her right now, not when it was this bad... He wondered if he could risk trying to cauterize it, or if that would do more harm than good.
Auburn was already halfway across the yard, looking perhaps for a humanoid or other such two-legged creature, all that she associated with people. She may not be the most intelligent pet ever, but she was irreparably bonded to Renathan; very in tune with his feelings and patterns. Like a dog that dutifully searched for someone to help their master; the izer bounded around, never farther than fifty feet, searching for help.

"Okay, okay..." she panted, looking around with confusion, face still white and sweat beading across her brow. Her eyes pinpointed on the tree on her leg and she couldn't help but laugh for a moment, dazed by everything. It's wasn't a voluntary sound on her part, there just wasn't much else to do. Hands working on their own firmly planted on the tree as she tried to push it off of her, but to no avail, as strong as she was, she was too weak from blood loss to push it anywhere, least of all off of herself while she was so injured. Typically the adrenaline would work out in her favor, but it was all seeping out of her from her bloody leg. It had been a strange day for the creature, he was brilliant and let the woman take care of him, but he didn't know what else to do at the moment. He had gotten bored and left the kennel, amusing himself, for a time, as it were. Walking strangely on back legs, his front legs held out in front of him and his tail swishing side to side behind, he glanced around as he heard panicked chattering and could sense the danger on the air. Intrigued, he crept forward and peered at the Izer flitting around, looking for someone, it seemed. Was she lost? Bane tilted his head a moment, dark eyes reflecting for a moment before deciding to follow where she may lead, if he had the opportunity to help, why not, it amused him and he had learned a touch of magic he was willing to try if the situation called for such a thing. There wasn't much for him to do but follow the panicked bird, and when he looked around and saw what she might be panicked about, his breath caught. Sure, she was just a human, but she was his human. She helped him, encouraged him, was a caretaker and friend when he needed her to be. His eyes widened and he hurried over, eyes narrowing at the antlered man with her for a moment, and then stared at her crushed and splintered leg, one that was barely there anymore, certainly not recognizable as a leg, in fact. He would need to act fast, and he pointed at the man, and then the log, indicating it needed to move. There were things he could do to help her, great things, but this needed moved. His magical act of moving it would be last resort, he wanted no one else to be hurt. "Bane...?" the voice was tired, she was fading, he almost didn't have a choice, the man would need to act fast or Bane would need to for him. Jack: 4/5

Renathan was only about average on the strength scale for humanoids, and the log looked absolutely too heavy. It was, after all, heavy enough to crush a leg, femur and all. Renathan didn't know where the ampharadon came from- in fact, this was the first time he had ever seen one. He was glad to see Auburn running over to him, or perhaps flying very close to the ground? She wasn't very strong herself, at all, but seeing her made him realize exactly what he should do. Renathan could feel a quiet surge of power as his magic kicked in nearly without thought. He felt a bit of strength enter his bones, and he wondered quietly if the familiar could do something like this as well.
Renathan made sure he was on the correct side of the tree branch to keep from hurting Jack any worse with it, and he pushed, he pushed with all of his might, and thanks to the adrenaline and the extra bit of strength to push off the log, away from her form and a good way away. He breathed out lightly, and then turned around immediately, only to see the bloody mess of what was a leg. He didn't like it, it didn't make him feel ill, but he certainly didn't enjoy it at all. The izer hopped up to Renathan's shoulders anxiously, nearly clawing him since she didn't quite make the leap right.
Renathan came forward, ready to help if he needed to. He held his palms out for the ampharadon to see; hoping that the creature could tell that he might be able to help? He had heard that some ampharadon were magical, and most were actually sentient, but he didn't know what the depth of that was. Where did it come from, anyway?
Jack seemed to know who it was, though, so Renathan didn't feel in danger at all. He just didn't know what to say, but now he was fighting back a panic attack.

Bane watched as the man pushed the log away and nodded briefly before waving him away when he came back with his palms out. If he thought he was a danger, he would have done something already about him. The nod and the wave of his front paws had been picked up by him from Jack, they had spent time together whenever she came to care for the others in the Kennel, he would follow her around and watch in case he was needed for anything, and the wave away was more for shooing away an annoyance than anything else. Danger was something different entirely, his posture and mannerisms would be much different if he felt danger from any of the people or animals in the Park at this point.
He stared at what was left of his Human's leg for a moment and then took a deep breath. Jack laughed again, an involuntary gesture, and she turned her white, sweat riddled head over to Renathan for a moment, gritting her teeth from the pain and trying to bark out a joke. If this was the last thing she was going to say, she figured as she bled more freely than before, then she had better make it something he could chuckle at later on in life eventually, after he was sad. "Should... have... him here... more often..." she said with a smile as the Amphadron reached out for her hand with his paw as she reached out for both him and Renathan with both hand.
As he watched and held her hand, his other hand found the part of her leg, more her hip than anything else, that hadn't been touched by the tree, then with one quick movement severed what was left of her leg as he stared at the man, daring him to try and move against him at the moment. He would help her, there had to be trust. She winced and yelped, though she barely felt it, more saw what was happening, and she was enthralled it hadn't hurt more than it did. "Didn't... want... hurt... anymore..." Jack gritted out with a pained grin on her face, and let her head drop to the ground again, gasping and trying to figure out what was going to happen.
The Amphadron stared at her and then placed his free paw on her hip, a bright glow emanating from where he touched. The wound slowly closed and a nub appeared to begin growing from the healed wound. He then pulled his paw back, panting a bit from the exertion, and then sat back on his haunches and watched as the woman slowly regained a touch of color to her cheeks as she reached for Renathan with both hands.

Renathan wasn't really thinking a bunch clearly, but had he been able to do so he might have found the ampharadon's movements quite humanoid and interesting. Renathan instead couldn't really peel his eyes off of Jack. He stood there for a good couple of breaths before he could finally look at the ampharadon and try to ascertain what was desired of him. Renathan then looked back down at Jack concernedly, but allowed a soft hiss of a laugh, a bit bitter in his mouth like chewing on tin, at her joke. "Yeah, yeah, you should." He tried to sound soothing, but he wasn't sure if it was wholly convincing at all.
Renathan saw Jack's hand and took it the best he could in both of his own, feeling very sick suddenly, if only with the realization that Jack, the powerful, strong, stubborn woman, could die. Actually die from this. This wasn't like anything else he had seen before. He felt like the world should be crashing down; it certainly felt heavy on his chest already, or that the wind would stop. Renathan glanced up, just in time to look the Ampharadon in the eyes for a quick second, and he realized instantly that something was wrong, but he felt... Safe. He swallowed, and looked Jack in the eyes, giving the Ampharadon's actions no more thought. He hoped that they could do something.
Renathan stared down into her eyes, and tried to be comforting... Somehow, he knew- "It is going to be okay." Even if he was wrong, it would be better, if he said that perhaps. Renathan tried hard not to cry, and was suddenly incredibly glad he still had his mask on after all.
Renathan did not see the ampharadon cut the remainder of Jack's leg off, perhaps that was good. He also continued to stare down into her eyes as the new nub was growing back; unaware. But the color that went into her cheeks made him know that something had happened, and it had to be a good thing. Renathan took the other hand in one of his as well, and brought them together. He kissed both, moving them just under his mask for a moment. He hoped that things were okay, but he didn't know what to do.
Auburn, however, had seen everything. She watched with frightened silver eyes. She was terrified of all of the blood and the tang of it made her sick feeling, but she would never leave Renathan's side for any reason. Instead, she just watched, and cuddled into his neck from atop his shoulder protectively.

Jack nodded a little, it would be alright. She knew she would be, though she didn't know how it was going to happen, but then pain in her leg and then nothing but warmth. She glanced down and saw her leg now detached from her body and a small nub coming through her hip. She let her head lay on the ground and sighed, closing her eyes for a moment before snapping them open again. Was it safe for her to sleep? She knew Renathan wouldn't let anything else happen to her, this was her own fault anyway it seemed, and she didn't blame him whatsoever, honestly she was just happy she had gotten him out of the way as well!
He was pleased, and tired of course, but so would she. Patting her forehead with a paw as she held onto the man's hands, he nodded a little and then gave a long yawned and turned away. While he was a genius, so was every other Amphadron, it wasn't unusual for his species to behave as such, he felt, especially when there was a bit of a bond there to begin with. He made sure she was comfortable and safe and then ambled off again, only turning for a moment when she called out to him. "Bane..." she gave a crooked little smile and squeezed Renathan's hands before closing her eyes a little bit.
"Renathan... please don't leave..."

Renathan leans down gently, his breath perhaps a little closer to her face than he would normally have gotten in this situation. He was just so worry about her, and really, really not wanting to look at the mess down where her leg is, was... Is. Renathan didn't know what to think, his hands just trembled. Trying to stay strong was a lot harder than he had expected it to be. Renathan could tell that the ampharadon was done with whatever it was doing, so he spared a quick glance down at her waist; surprised to see a new limb... Growing? Was that growing? And so fast? Renathan quickly looked to Jack's eyes, both relief and concern growing in his face. This would probably make her tired, he was sure, even if it did help.
Auburn watched as the magical creature left. She could perhaps feel a bit of it, in the air; her familiar's touch really sensing it. She wasn't a natural magic user, so she would never understand what it was truly like for those denizens of the labs that could. Auburn blinks her silver-y eyes, calls out a little trill in thanks, probably unknown to the other beast, or perhaps he heard it and understood that it was a sort of gratuitous noise. The izer then turns around, staring down at the woman and the leg, not really understanding.
Renathan held her hands tighter. "Never, I'd never leave you." He said, and then- quickly, because she probably wasn't understanding things well but he needed to get her somewhere safe. "We need to get you somewhere inside, do you want me to bring you to your house on my back?" Auburn would just have to fly, in the meantime, if so. He knew she may not be able to answer, but he didn't want to do anything without at least an attempt at permission.

His breath on her face made her open her eyes again and she smiled. She didn't hurt so bad anymore, which was a good thing for her, she decided. Jack smiled a little and reached up to touch the cheek of his mask. Maybe if they got to go somewhere else he would take it off so no one else would see, that would be nice. She glanced over to where Bane was leaving and smiled again before blinking heavily, seeing him wave a paw dismissively at the Izer's trills. That was Bane, indifferent but caring, and she knew she was lucky to have him, though what drew him here today she would never understand. It didn't mean she wasn't glad for it though, there was that much.
"Good," she mumbled. So, so tired she was at the moment, it was going to be a rough time regrowing this leg she knew. It might hurt, and she would be famished, eating whenever she was awake, but that was fine. A large yawn overcame her for a few moments, and she blearily blinked up at Renathan. "I can... wa... ugh, no... I can't..." she muttered as she tried to prop herself up on her elbows to get up and walk. That certainly wasn't going to happen. Sleepily, she nodded, "Please..." She couldn't get anything else out, she was almost asleep as it was, but she would be able to hold on to Renathan if he needed the help no matter what.
This. This was not how today was supposed to go.

Renathan was just beginning to be able to really think again, and the first panicked thought that came to his tired and anxious mind was 'if that ampharadon hadn't come here, she would have died' and there was nothing he could have done about it at all. He stilled himself, forcing himself to think about something else, anything else, and he controlled his breathing carefully in an attempt not to hyperventilate. Everything would be okay. Everything would be okay. Now. Now that this was fine, he was sure; then again, growing a whole new leg was something he had never before seen not once. Was this Ampharadon owned by Jack? He'd have to ask her later.
That thought actually did bring tears to his eyes. He COULD ask Jack later.
Renathan should be feeling relief, but was instead feeling the tail end exhaustion of panic in his chest.
Renathan nodded to her. "Alright Jack, let's see..." He put one arm under her shoulders, and the other under her knees, and then tested gently to see if she would be light enough to pick up. Perhaps thanks to the strength he received from the spell earlier, he was able to lift her with ease. "Please put your hands around my neck, okay?" Honestly, he probably wouldn't have minded if she pulled on his braids at this point, he probably wouldn't be able to feel it. He breathed in all at once and at the same time pulled up, to his feet, leaned back to counteract the weight a bit.
All Renathan could think about was getting her back to her place, so that he could figure out what kind of care she would need.
Auburn didn't have to be told to follow; after giving a last lost glance at the strange two-legged thing that didn't quite feel like a humanoid, she chased after Renathan, a bit upset that she couldn't ride at the moment because someone else was... Oh yeah, Jack was. She looked back at the leg, forlorn. She knew she needed to get away from that; predators would probably come to eat it; and she didn't want to be the appetizer.

Jack felt relief when she was lifted off the ground, and yawned into his shoulder as she reached up limply and wrapped her arms around his neck as best as she could. They were tangled in his braids, but there wasn't much she could do about that, she could barely move at this point, she was just happy she wasn't asleep just yet. This was going to take forever and be bad, but she hoped...
There was that glimmer of hope that she was going to have a good leg finally at some point when it grew back, but what was she going to do about things. It could grow back well or grow back badly, either way, she would deal with it as time went on like she had done last time. She frowned a little, almost asleep as she was unintentionally rocked a little with Renathan's gait, she didn't want to hurt anymore, but if she did, then it meant she was still alive, she figured. She just had to keep thinking like that, she supposed, it was the only thing she could really do.
"Auburn?" came a weak, sleepy question from a voice she barely recognized as her own. She knew the Izer usually rode on Renathan's shoulder, but she couldn't feel feathers on her arms, where was she? She couldn't be far from Renathan or else something bad would happen!

Renathan was relieved when he felt Jack wrap her arms around his neck, even if it was weak. He could only feel the barest of tugs when her fingers tangled in his braids, so he was glad that he wasn't going to have to deal with that, even if he would have happily dealt with it because it was Jack. Renathan began moving off of course, towards where he knew the main park trail was so that he could get them home. He knew the way to her farm by heart, and he was hoping that once he got her there that it wouldn't be too hard to get her into her house. He sped up a bit, after realizing that Auburn was following him.
Auburn raced towards him, bouncing happily left and right and back again. Sometimes, she would leap up and glide, as well. She seemed to be having a good time, letting out a trill every now and again. She knew not to get too far away from Renathan; she could feel the bond too, even if she didn't know what it meant at all. She did know that it was uncomfortable to get too far away from him. Her fluffy mane jumped at each bound.
Renathan was happy to have hit the main road. Now it would be a lot faster to get to the gate... Not long from now. Renathan tried to keep his mind on this, but he chuckled whenever Jack spoke. She sounded so bleary... "Auburn is fine, she's following us... Are you in any pain, Jack?" He tried to keep his voice level, but it still felt like cracking. He was honestly happy that Auburn wasn't tripping him right now, she was getting bad about trying to weave in between his legs whenever he was walking at home.

She let her eyes close as she nuzzled into his shoulder a little better. It was tiring doing this, even though she wasn't doing anything. Strike that, she was re-growing a leg, that had to count for something. At least she was thinking a little more clearly now, though she wasn't sure what to even think. Maybe she would have to get a Ribbon for Bane, thank him and see what he was doing in the Park all by himself. Even then though, maybe she should work with him a bit first, but how does one work with a creature of Divine intelligence? She sighed a little, eyes still closed as Renathan walked with her somewhere, she wasn't sure where but she didn't really care either, as long as they ended up somewhere she was comfortable sleeping.
"Little pain. Ache. Just sleepy," she managed to say, not gritting her teeth in pain anymore made it easier for her to talk. Still no long sentences, but she also didn't have to catch her breath in between words or phrases like she had to do just a little while ago. Jack yawned big and loudly for a moment and dozed for a moment, smelling Renathan's masculine, yet feminine scent, a scent that was purely him and quite comforting in any situation she could be in. It would be interesting to have that scent around the house, she decided with a faint smile as she lightly dozed in his arms.
"Thank you..."

Renathan walked and walked. He made his way to the gate and then past it, his paws across the cobblestone of the streets on this part of the town. He could hardly wait to get her to the farm, especially after about fifteen minutes when his back began to develop a slight ache. He would both pay for this and deal with this later, he decided. "Almost there." He muttered to her, quietly. He glanced down, and realized that she could probably be sleeping. He hoped that she was okay, she was breathing, so that was something. He hoped that this wouldn't look too weird or incriminating to people walking the streets; the blood was a bit... Yeah. That.
"Good, I am glad." The mammalian said quietly. Renathan was quiet for a moment in his head, and he could almost feel Jack up against him, perhaps smelling him? He knew that he was cleanly, he had to be because of all of that fur, but he still felt a bit nervous about his scent around the less furry denizens of the Labs. Jack seemed to like it though, and that made him feel better. They'd talked about it before. He was beginning to feel a bit more calm by the time they got to the outskirts of her farm.
"You are more than welcome, Jack." For now, he'd be calm. He'd probably freak out later.
Auburn followed at a close clip while in the city, as she had been taught. Renathan was sure to make sure that his creatures were usually either restrained or on his person when he went into town, but right now was different. Auburn's little belled collar made soft jingle noises as she followed. Yes, she was obviously a very pampered, beloved creature. She was used to getting petted in public, but today she stayed close to Renathan's heels.

"Home..." she murmured, fighting sleep. She was trying not to fall asleep until she was somewhere she could actually lay down and not in Renathan's arms. If she could help support herself with her arms a little, then she wasn't quite as much dead weight as she would be while asleep. Jack just hoped her animals wouldn't freak out when they saw her, the bond she shared with some of them was already overwhelming her and her Ribboned animals were firing off questions left and right, especially if she had that bond with them. It was nice, in a way, that they cared for her, but they needed to calm down, and sent soothing thoughts across their links to get them calmed down a bit. It would get worse when they saw her like this, and she managed to open her eyes for a moment and look down at her leg that was continuing to grow.
Jack nuzzled into Renathan a little more, content in his arms, though she still worried about Auburn even though he told her she was fine. The little Izer would take awhile to keep up, she figured, Renathan was clipping along at a nice pace it seemed. She couldn't wait to sink into a bed and rest, though her stomach was starting to growl a little as well. As strange as it was, she was extremely hungry and couldn't wait to wake up enough to eat. "Sorry. Hungry. Too tired," the woman managed with a little smile on her face. The smell of home came across to her, and she opened her eyes for a few seconds to survey her land. At least her door typically wasn't locked, though she could tell Renathan where her spare key was, if he didn't already know.

Once Renathan made it to the edge of her property, he felt like they were home free. He started walking faster, trying not to bounce or jostle Jack too much, but he wanted to get there as soon as possible. Renathan practically trotted across the yard, jibiji in tow, hoping that they wouldn't run into too many of her creatures at once because that could be a danger. Especially if any of them thought that he had caused this/was trying to hurt her or anything like that.
Renathan could feel his own emotional bonds with his creatures as well; from his jibiji's calming and happy presence to his equillion's concerned one. Renathan kinda wished he had brought Shy Guy today, that would have made this easier. He was almost big enough to fit two folks; almost. Renathan tries to quell his nervousness to stop bothering the creatures so bad, and then bee-lined for the front door, he could see it now.
Renathan made it to the door, and with a quick glance to make sure that his jibiji wasn't messing around (she was right at his heels still, he should have noticed that). He was about to ask Jack if she had a key or anything, but he fumbled with the doorknob anyway, just to test. He was surprised when the door slid open, and a bit concerned, but right now, getting Jack sat down somewhere was the priority.
Auburn was used to going into doors, and slipped into the door right as Renathan did, between his steps, knowing that the door might close once he passed through it. Renathan finds the nearest soft thing (a couch maybe?) to put Jack on, and then does so, sitting her down gently.
His muscles were burning, but he was finally in a calm place- and that meant panicking could ensue. Renathan turned around for a moment, hoping that Jack wouldn't see, and silently screamed inside for a moment. It may not have been obvious to anyone else, but Auburn noticed; and looked as if she had been slapped for a moment. All of his bonded pets felt it, but Renathan had to let out some of that nervous energy.
Alright. That was done. Now Jack needed him. He turned back around, trying to look strong. "Jack, do you need anything?"
