Old thread. Please ignore.
We have a combat system paired with a health system, neither of which have ever been used for anything. So, who wants to test it in no boundaries? I'll admit it might not be the best test as my stabby lizard Haix will only have a simple attack and dodge expertise available for her to use, but it would at least let us see the system in action.
The basic idea will be your character happens to be strolling outside of the labs for whatever reason, possibly stepping into/nearly avoiding some kind of trap, and then Haix attempts to ambush you. If you want it to be something else, let me know as the eventual combat is the important part. It will kind of be like the tournament fights where we both post introductions, then kick off the fighting posts.
If you are interested, please post in this thread with your character info, combat page(if they have one), and any equipment/pet stats you would bring, plus anything else you might want to say. Here's Haix's information as an example:
Pet: None
Equipment: Fire Dagger(1d4(fire))
Some information:
-You can bring a pet to help your character, or just use one directly against her if you'd like. Any pet is allowed, preferably one trained at least one battle command or above the flee loyalty line. Character combat against pets probably should be tested too at some point anyways.
-You want to use magic? Go for it. Stabby lizard will try to cast knife.
-In the case of character vs character, the attacker does their roll at the end of their post, leaving it on the defender to roll and determine if the attack was a success, as well as the damage done if it was. Then, in the same post after their calculations, the defender becomes the attacker and the process repeats. This is to prevent forcing either player from making posts that are just reactions to calculations, then having to post again to attack.
-If you want certain traits to affect the match, like Rat's Blessing halving/negating the odds of being grappled or Cat's Balance halving the chances of being knocked prone, let me know.
-Your character and pet will not be killed by her (if she ever gets into that spot, she won't finish them, giving you ample chance to take her down instead). There is a good chance they may take some damage. Though, since this is not official, you can decide IC what it takes for them to heal rather than having to go to the temple.
-You can kill Haix. This will be in no boundaries, aka right outside the boundaries of the city/labs, so there won't be any official IC repercussions for doing so. And Haix certainly won't be in any condition to come back after you.
-Should Haix not be killed in this fight, I am willing to have her fight others in no boundaries until folks lose interest, or she is killed.
Anyone interested?

I am incredibly up for a fite even if Darky the character necessarily isn't, but I'm also aware Darky might be a little more invested skill-wise than most other players x3; But I can have her sans armor and only the scimitar equipped, to nerf things a little?
Character: Darky Combat: Darky's Combat Pet: None (Amonuro the shijin might be roleplayed as around, or showing up after the fight, but I don't intend to involve him in the battle itself) Equipment: Scimitar (1d6 reg dmg)

Yee, a fiiiite.
No need to nerf yourself. The more equipment and armor you have, the better Haix will feel when she inevitably gets destroyed by someone who is not a Ssashirk. And, with her reason for picking a fight, the more intimidating the opponent the better. XD I'll go ahead and speed-level Haix so her attack/defense has a slim chance at succeeding.
I'll start the thread shortly after she gets those three levels. Or if you want to start it, feel free to pick between a pitfall trap or simple snare for the trap you avoid/escape from.

Duuuuuude....! I am SO interested.
I have....other priorities right now, but once I finish this (and next) month’s quest and get a feel for rp’ing again - between real life - I’d totally want to take you on. Riku is.....not AT ALL ‘trained’, but I’d love to test the pet vs player dynamics. Perhaps we can rp it as them strolling by and Haix supposing they arrived to battle or simply forcing them? I haven’t had time to read your character’s page recently, so I don’t have a feel for what they’d do.
The pet would be my Malii, Scarlet, who’d defend Riku. She’s decently trained and very loyal.

Assuming Haix does not get herself killed between now and then, I'd be down for that. We can plan out how it happens when you are ready, but I definitely could see her trying to force your character or pet to fight her, a "COME AT ME BRO" sort of thing.

Not really looking for a fight as Twilight/claw would be a lamb going in the slaughter house should it be tried, just curious about something. Why do you want your character Haix to be killed though? As that seems to be what your planning to do if the first one doesn't kill Haix. X3

It makes more sense for Darky to be out on a stroll lightly armed if she isn't expecting to run into trouble x3 The armor only comes out when Things Are Serious (cue the home fleeing scene from Mulan) or if she needs the helmet when training. I believe we might even be able to muddle in some plot elements as well, since she and Haix have had some.. interesting run ins previously (Like that one Pit fight with the drugged drake, and the Civil war stuff?)

Twilight-Claw- IC, Haix has some religious and personal reasons for doing what she's doing, and dying properly is a part of that. OoC, it's a couple of things. Darky- Makes sense. And since Haix remembers Darky somewhat as well, I'm not sure we could avoid muddling through some plot elements if we wanted to. The 'ambush' is already going to take a bit of a weird turn for her once she realizes who it is. XD
Edit: Haix is now 'battle ready'. The thread will be put up in either no boundaries(default) or plot(if you would prefer) sometime tomorrow and linked to in this thread.
