Now they were really ready to begin the repetition part of the training with this behavior, Morgan just knew it. They were starting to learn Domino quite well, and it felt like Domino was learning them as well. Morgan called Domino back to the land, and then threw her another treat, before giving the command yet again for her to swim. Domino had gotten it, now, and swam out into the water. Morgan threw her another treat, and they continued to repeat this again and again, wash rinse repeat, continuously. Domino would swim out after the command was given, and then she was treated for doing such. Morgan was sure that she would continue to do this action whenever she started to be able to fly; though they knew that teaching her to do that was going to be just as much work as this; maybe moreso. After lots of repetition, Morgan figured that it was time to move on to something else.

There were two other things that the Training Guild wanted done before the end of the month; and Morgan was really struggling to get theirself to get this done today instead of trying to wait and quite possibly missing the deadline. Working with Domino was fun, sure, but a couple of these things were going to be confusing or difficult at best to teach a fish of all things. The first one that they were going to work with out of the penultimate two, today, Morgan decided, was Submerging. This was something that would probably be easier to teach a creature like Domino, who was already quite the water-breather, as opposed to something like a mosca, who would probably dislike getting wet, let alone actually going beneath the waves. However, seryn had their own difficulties with this; namely, how did Morgan even get the Seryn to submerge like that? It was going to be difficult, for sure.

Morgan was going to have a difficult time also coming up with a command for this. It needed to be a whistled command, again, since this could be used to get the seryn out of harm's way by submerging beneath the water at some point, but heck, Morgan wasn't even sure what would be the best for it. Morgan decided to make it sound like the other two in-water commands that they had done so far, because why not? It may be easier for Morgan to remember their own commands, in the future. Morgan was training each one of their creatures to completely different commands, to keep them all separate and to be able to command them all separately at the same time if needed. Domino was watching Morgan, waiting to start, close to the land. Morgan steps out partially into the water, glad that their boots were watertight, coming up with an idea suddenly.

Morgan knew that fish could drown, in fact, but knew that Domino should be fine if pushed down in the water slightly. Morgan decided to use one hand to use the whistle to give the command that they had decided upon for this submerge command, and of course would use the tolerance that Domino had worked up a long while back to actually press down on the seryn to get her to submerge, before giving her a treat. Morgan generally had a good idea about how their creatures learned, and it didn't take long to understand them quite well. Perhaps it was because of Morgan's methodical way of thinking of things? Not long afterwards, Morgan did just as they had thought about, calling out the command, and then gently guiding the seryn down further into the water, leaned out. The seryn allowed this, and whenever Morgan let go, came back up and was given a treat for her trouble.

Domino was incredibly intelligent, and a quick learner, being super focused and desiring to please, so this was really all she needed to get the basic idea. She needed practice, of course, and that was what was going to take a while. Morgan called out to Domino to get her to swim out further, and then called out the command for submerge again. Domino dipped a bit and then came back up; not quite good enough for Morgan. Morgan called another command; the one for submerge again, and Domino went down a little bit further this time. Morgan shook their head, and called it out again; this time Domino dipped down below the waves quite far. That was the spirit! When she came up this time, after a bit more of a wait, Morgan threw out another treat for her, for doing so well. This was the start of her truly understanding it, Morgan felt.

Now it was all repetition from here, as per usual. Morgan was slowly beginning to fit into a sort of rhythm with training, thankfully. It was growing more and more easy over time, and now that they were working out which creatures they would be keeping, and which they were going to be trading out to the Jackalope for extra supplies and knowledge, Morgan was beginning to get into a groove where they felt like training their creatures would be easier to do. Morgan continued to repeat the training with the seryn, giving the command, and giving her a treat every time she ducked under the water, submerging. Morgan was sure that after more training, they would be able to get her to stay down as long as needed. As they continued to work on it, eventually Domino was staying submerged until being asked to come to land, or to do other tricks, so Morgan was pleased with her learning, and felt like she had gotten it.

Ah, the next one was going to be annoying at best, but Morgan was slogging through it, and of course Domino was just happy as long as she could be given some treats during the whole ordeal. At least she learned quickly and quickly bonded as well, so Morgan wasn't entirely hating the situation. It was, after all, important that at least Morgan would get the trainings required by the training guild done as soon as possible. They'd done quite a few thusfar, but it was starting to cut into their own personal training regimens, so that was a mess. Perhaps soon they'd have to start figuring out what meant more to them, getting their training done sooner to get to their goals quicker, or climbing up the ranks at the training guild... There was only so much time to be had. The next thing they were going to work on was (a sigh was released) tread water. [31] - [Start 'Tread Water']

Tread Water was a concept that Morgan would have probably never taught a single creature, not a one, if it weren't for this being required by the training guild. It was not at all something useful, not for a creature like Domino, and of course teaching a critter to tread water while learning to swim sounded like a good idea, but why exactly did a water mount need to learn to stay in one place, if not for rescue work? Morgan had no need to teach any creature any sort of rescue work. Perhaps it would be okay to work on with Nico at some point, to help him learn to swim, but that was only if they had extra time in the future. No matter; it wouldn't be difficult to teach an aquatic creature that already knew how to swim how to sit in one spot. The issue would be, how to get her to do it on command?

Useless feeling as though it may be, it was still required to be able to prove it's learning on to the training guild to get 'points' for this, and well, they might as well. Morgan chose a command for it, similar to the other ones since they had already thought about this previously, and then walked back onto the dock, holding their hand and a fish above the water. Of course, Domino came back over to the dock as well, looking up at the treat that she so wanted. Morgan called out the command for the 'tread water' and then waited. Of course, Domino had no idea as to what she was supposed to do; but she did sit in that one spot, sure that Morgan would show her how to do whatever she needed to do. The trust was there, of course. They'd been working together quite a bit, surprisingly enough. After a moment or two of Domino staying in that one place; Morgan dropped the fish for her.

Domino was a little confused by this; she understood a bit that this was good, she had done something right if she had gotten the treat, after all. But what had she done correctly? She took the treat, snapping it up, and then glanced up at Morgan as if to ask 'what am I supposed to do?' Morgan was sure that she would get it eventually, this was, after all, the easiest trick in the book for a creature like her. It was practically 'stay' for a fish. Thinking that made Morgan chuckle a bit, beneath their breath, but they needed to continue working on this. Morgan performed the same whistle again, the one that meant for her to 'tread water' and then held a fish up above her for some time. After she stayed still, like she had last time, Morgan gave her the treat. They repeated this again, and again.

Thankfully, Morgan was sure after the continued repetition that she got it. Morgan wanted to make absolutely sure that she remembered it, though, and knew it in context of other commands, so they called out the command for 'swim' so that she would move away from Morgan, and then gave out the command without holding a fish up above the water for her this time. The seryn did stay in place, assuming that it was what she was supposed to do, treading water. After a few moments, Morgan threw her another fish. They continued like this, with Morgan telling her to move one way or another, and then asking her to tread water using the command, and as soon as she did it of course she was given another treat. This continued, repeated constantly, until Morgan was absolutely sure that she knew the trick of practically staying in water, the 'tread water' command.

Morgan was sure that they were done for the day, but wanted to continue to work on the commands that they had done to make well sure that they were accepted by the creature and understood well. "Alrighty Domino, we're just about done for today." Morgan was feeling a bit conversational, feeling calm and not quite overthinking things as badly as they normally did. How commonly was it that Morgan just had a good day? Perhaps on the way home they would stop at one of the boardwalk food shops and get something unhealthy to eat. Or at least Morgan would, they were planning on feeding the seryn once they got back home, anyway. There had been quite a bit of expansion going on with Morgan's land; they were considering even expanding further in the far future, but for now it was less loud to be out during the day instead of at home.

Morgan did have something else to do today too; about an hour's worth of 'physical therapy' as Morgan was calling it, with Waar. Waar needed more time to get used to Morgan again anyway, so that would be a good amount of time to get him used to them. Working with Domino today hadn't been as painful as Morgan had thought that it would be (of course not physical pain, more like annoyance) because they had been expecting it to be pretty dang bad. So between the two of those, and perhaps a good walk with Nico, Morgan had a full 'off time' today, whereas Morgan was also needing to go to their first lecture on plant studies. Botany was not Morgan's favorite thing, but it was needed if Morgan was going to learn how to work chemistry; it was basically a pre-requisite. Morgan was learning quite quickly, almost as quickly as their critters.

The things that they had worked on with Domino today were thought to be useless, but perhaps in the future, while training the tat-lungs to swim in their new bodies, Morgan would touch on some of this in the future again. It was important to get easy practice out of the way before doing more harsh things, so it wasn't all a waste of time, at least. Plus, Domino would make a much better mount now. Morgan was running Domino through her commands as they thought about the state of their life currently. It was a quiet time, the most quiet that it had been in a long time, and Morgan was already feeling very well prepared for what was coming soon. There was so much training they needed to work on soon enough, but at least Domino was seemingly getting hers. She was running through all of her commands easily enough.

After running Domino through all of her commands, Morgan knew that it was time to get her back into the transfer tank to take her home. Even though Morgan was giving her quite a few treats for her trouble, they were small on purpose, so as not to spoil her dinner, or make her too unhealthy. Morgan took their creature's diets incredibly seriously, at the very least. It was not difficult to call the seryn back to Morgan, and then place her back into the transfer tank using the transfer tool that Morgan had designed theirself. It reduced stress on the creatures that were water based, and of course Morgan changed out and sterilized the tank every time they did this. Everything that had to do with taking care of their creatures was the most important thing to Morgan. After getting Domino back into the travel tank, they took the tank on the wagon over to the boardwalk.
