Morgan would be happy with him even if he Never grew, but Morgan was super fearful for Shigeru's happiness if he did not, in comparison to the other older tat-lungs. Morgan was planning on procuring other breeds of tat-lung (they were considering an agate next, if they could find a sufficiently young one) to work with, so he would have younger brothers and sisters as well! How would he feel if all of his younger siblings were mature and he was stuck at this stage? It would be a real travesty for him, Morgan was sure. Still, Morgan wanted to teach him as much as possible. "Look at that, over there? Apples are normally yellow, green, and red. I've never seen a pink one before!" At that, Morgan walked a little faster, moving the travel tank over to the tree with the strange pink apples in it. "Why do you think they are like that?" They asked Shigeru.

Shigeru seemed to think for a moment. Then he finally gave an answer, 'I think they are pink because they have the same thing that causes them to be yellow, and to be red? Maybe?' Morgan hadn't really taught him his colors, but he was picking things up through 'conversation' using the ring every day. "That could be it, indeed." Morgan said. However, they still needed to get to them, so that Morgan could bring one home and study it. That was what they enjoyed doing with their time, and maybe it would prove useful for their herbology studies. "I'll have to climb up and get one for testing. I'm learning to make salves and stuff." Morgan explained and informed, and then quickly swung theirself up by grabbing the lowest of the branches. "I'll be right back down soon, Shigeru." Morgan spoke and conveyed, but this time didn't use LSL. [88]

Morgan was able, as they had many times before, to haul theirself up to the low hanging branch. The closest pink apple was just above them, and they pushed up a bit and used their body's momentum to swing up to that one. Morgan may not be very physically strong, but they were quite agile. The human was able to grab on and sit on the branch. At this, they scooted forward and grabbed the pink apple personally, and then came down out of the tree quickly, landing on the ground quite easily. "There we go, Shigeru, I got it." At that, they moved forward, and showed it off to the blue tat-lung. Shigeru had watched Morgan with wonder, the world outside of the water was so different than the world beneath it! "Well, at least I managed to get something out of this trip." Morgan grinned.

At that, Morgan looked around, having heard a noise in the bushes. "Wh- what was that?" Morgan said, and then turned around. They had forgotten to convey or use sign language for that one, leaving Shigeru to be concerned. Morgan did see something, when they turned around, in the bushes. What was that? It was a dark shape, and kind of... Whispy, now that Morgan could think about it. Oh. OH that was that- "We've got to go!" Morgan said, turning tail and taking the apple and the wagon with the travel tank with them. They didn't want to be chased by that canid thing again! Luckily they were not far into the orchard this go around, so Morgan was able to get them out of there without a big chase. Morgan sighed, they were really hoping to get some nice loot from this trip... "Oh well, Shigeru, let's check around before we go."

Perhaps the first place that the normal individual takes a couple of freshly-hatched baby tat-lung to is not normally the mansion. However, Morgan was fond of multi-tasking all the way around. Morgan had the transfer-tank running like a dream, and wanted to try it out again anyway, since they made some rather nice changes to the way it was working at least. Morgan was here for lots of reasons, but the first and main one was that Morgan needed more loot from this month. They haven't managed to get any other colors of apples, or find any more neat looking flowers, or even get some more of that strange juice stuff. There were just some things that Morgan had heard the mansion had in store this month from others talking quite loudly about it that Morgan just had not found at all! So they figured that they would take Pao and the crystal that they hadn't quite named yet to the mansion as well, to spend some time with them and maybe even get them 'talking' while also looking for some sweet stuff to study. Morgan was pretty pumped today, a lot more energetic than they had been in a while. Perhaps they would be luckier this go around!
And maybe they'd stop finding so many of those blue flowers...

That was just the way that it had worked out this month. Morgan had found a ton of stuff, only to not find the things that they had really been looking for in the first place. It was a real mess, but Morgan was sure that they still had some time this month! The human opened up the wrought iron gate at the front of the mansion grounds, and then gently pulled in the two tat-lungs before getting it shut behind them. This month had been pretty benevolent so far, but Morgan was sure that the mansion could be pretty awful sometimes. They had heard stories, and of course last month a killer sandcastle tried to eat Morgan and the pet that they had kept. Morgan thought about it quite a bit, when going to the mansion. They had to keep it on their mind just in case something like it happened again. It would really suck to be bringing the tats along for a nice field trip only to be attacked by something like that. Morgan's plan was to get these two more used to communicating in 'tat-lung' using the ring, since their older brothers were too busy doing whatever they did all day. Morgan didn't mind teaching, not one bit.

Morgan had brought them out first thing in the morning. Pao had hatched two days previously, and the crystal had just hatched last night. Both of them were quite small and young, but Morgan knew enough about tats to know that they were already as smart as whips and learning all kinds of things. It was important to get to them as early as possible! The human hadn't known that Pao's egg was a tat-lung egg, but they had carried her everywhere with them for a long time without even knowing it. Morgan had woken up one morning with the egg in their hands, warm and with a faint sort of chirping noise that sounded oddly like fireworks going off in their head. They didn't know what it was, and honestly thought that it was indeed a gem or something, but they felt this odd need to protect it. Apparently, that was a good idea, because it was indeed a baby Pao! Morgan had to get a hold of a couple more tat-lung eggs just to make sure that it was indeed a tat-lung egg; Morgan bought a silver and a crystal. The crystal was apparently older than the silver, and hatched as well! Yup, tat-lung eggs!

Morgan had wanted to be absolutely sure, it was very important. Because Morgan knew how they got the crystal and silver eggs; they had sent someone to get them at the Hunter's Lodge. But Morgan had NO idea where Pao's egg had came from. Or heck, even where the name came from! Morgan just looked at the tiny baby tat, freaked out, put it in the water before it drowned, and then immediately knew that her name was Pao and she was a female. Like, what? Morgan had no idea what to think about it, but was very glad to raise her, and teach her. There was nothing more rewarding than teaching dragons and helping them find their ways in life. Morgan was so glad that they were able to provide them homes! Morgan was going to have to make the Konpeito Inn a little bigger for them, especially now that the silver was going to hatch at some point. Still, the human hadn't been happy since their father died.
But somehow, being able to be around these tat-lungs was making it a little better. They wondered what their dad would have thought about them raising dragons like this. Would he have been proud?

Morgan knew that their dad would have been proud no matter what, but he always talked of tat-lungs with a kind of misty gleam in his eye. Morgan had been taught about 'dragons' by him, and they knew that at some point, he had to have had a tat-lung, though he didn't really like owning sentient beings much. It was just the way that he talked about them. It was what made Morgan respect them so much, and of course want to help them so much! Morgan continued on, until they got to a particularly nice area in the shade of a smaller apple tree. Morgan breathed in the nice crisp autumn air that hadn't quite made it to the rest of the town yet of course, since it was still summer, and grinned. "What a nice day. This is a tree." Morgan said, feeling a bit dumb already. They were 'speaking' to the tat-lungs in triplicate, with the ring, in common, and in LSL with their hands. They wanted to eventually teach this to the rest of the tat-lungs, and starting early was the best way to do it, completely. Both of the baby tats looked at Morgan with mild interest, mostly at their hands.

A tiny goblin, potato-like in appearance for all it's filth and lumps, hunches over a bushle of red grapes to 'welcome' the group to the mansion grounds.

It didn't take long for Morgan to immediately watch how quickly the two tat-lungs seemed to realize what was going on. Morgan was communicating. Pao seemed to already know that Morgan could do that, she seemed to understand so much more so quickly, as Morgan was quickly learning, than some of the other tats. The crystal, however, seemed to be just now figuring out, like a human does when watching a sentient species that does not communicate the way that they do, that Morgan could indeed communicate and that meant that they had some sort of intelligence. Morgan surprisingly feels a little bit insulted at that, but then again, Tat-lungs made people look like how people made orbaru feel, Morgan was sure. They just felt so stupid sometimes working with such intelligent creatures. Already, Morgan was attempting to 'babble' in tat-lung, just from watching a few of Morgan's translated movements from the ring. It really was shocking, just thinking about it, but Morgan was always surprised when it came to Tat-lungs. They hadn't known Seimei and Ryuusei from hatching... Both of them had practically been teens when Morgan got to them. It was just absolutely amazing, getting to have this opportunity.

Morgan was so glad that they got to teach tat-lungs, even though it was going to take a lot of work to work with so many. Morgan was ready for it, even if it took them some time. However, they seemed to be fairly happy with Morgan, even though their situation with the labs was a mess. Morgan didn't mind letting them do what they wanted to do, heck, they probably couldn't really stop them either way. So it was important for Morgan to be friendly with them from a young age; like an older sibling or dare Morgan say it, maybe a parent? Still, they were quite happy to be able to teach them, regardless. "Trees are a plant, and plants are a type of living thing that creates their own energy from the sun, nutrients from the soil, and water, typically. There are certain parasitic plants and other such eccentricities- that don't bother to make their own energy, but overall, that is the gist of what a plant is." Morgan said, in triplicate. They knew that there was no way the tats understood all of that, they were too young, but Morgan wasn't going to treat them like they were stupid just because they were young.

Morgan hated that humans did that to their young, treating them like they were stupid and arresting their development and such. Not only that, but they felt like it was possible that the tat-lungs, being as hyper-sentient as they are, were probably already soaking up everything like a sponge. No need to treat them like babies and 'goo goo gaa gaa' at them like a baffled buffoon. But still, they didn't really have a complete concept of everything yet, so this sort of thing wouldn't hurt for a long while. Morgan reached up to take an apple from the tree anyway, barely able to get at the lowest hanging fruit on the tree thanks to their diminutive size. "This is a fruit, specifically, this is an apple fruit from the apple tree. Each tree has it's own was of delivering seeds, basically their eggs, to the ground, where they may germinate and grow into big trees. Most living things on the planet happen to reproduce in some fashion or another. As for you two, I am sure you know you both came from eggs." It was hard to tell if they really understood if anything yet or not, really.

However, Morgan was not deterred by their possible lack of understanding. They just HAD to understand. Morgan wanted to have them 'talking', unlike Shigeru, whom Morgan had managed to not really notice when he started 'speaking' all of a sudden, Morgan wanted to have these two understanding what is going on first, so that their explanations worked much better than with Shigeru before. Morgan also hoped that raising similarly aged ones would keep them more humble than Shigeru, who was already super high minded. Morgan could only imagine what working with Seimei or Ryuusei would have been like without working with them together. Seimei at the very least would have been a damn nightmare! Morgan showed the apple to the two tat-lungs before them, Pao seemed especially interested in it. The crystal seemed much more interested in looking over her instead. That made sense, the crystal was indeed younger than Pao, and Pao had already met the other tat-lungs. The crystal was only just now meeting another tat-lung! It was good that they were having them with one another now, instead of just putting them together when it came time to start the 'school'. For now, they needed to get used to living, first.
