Great, so did that mean that whatever she was meant to do here, would be in this room? Not some big cosmic change that she could use for the better of her people? There was nothing even in this room for her to do! Nothing she could use. Her room had been pretty bare while she was growing up, since she spent so much of her time out there doing fun things and practicing. She hadn't been the type of girl to lay about and daydream with her pretty knick knacks decorating the walls. She hadn't lain across her bed writing poetry and secrets in journals that she could revisit and find some useful forgotten information in!
Frustrated, she slid down the wall until she was sitting on the ground next to Gulli. The dragon looked at her distressed human and sidled over to her, cautious for another outburst. She nuzzle Jinx's arm, trying to be reassuring.

While she understood that Gulli was trying to help, Jinx wasn't in the head space to accept the comfort. She didn't react to the dragons attempts, though that didn't discourage Gulli either since it wasn't a negative reaction! She just stared off into space, thinking and wondering. She occasionally muttered to herself. Why in the world had the mansion thought this would be a good place to send her?
She let her mind wander in the hopes of finding clues and ideas and it led her down the path she had taken, everything she would be giving up if she had been able to turn back time and right some wrongs. She never would have left her kingdom, that means no meeting Ashe, no traveling to the city, no dragon hoard of her own.... no Gulli. She frowned down at the baby dragon, suddenly sad that she had been ready to give all that up.

She was not, in fact, ready to give all of this up. Lillai? Selkie? Gulli? She didn't want to lose them. And even if she had ventured to this city on some journey quest, she wouldn't have met people in the same way, the same circumstances, as she had as a runaway. She realized that she had been closing herself off, worrying too much about the past, almost like she was in a box with no doors. Huh. She smirked to herself and reached over to pull Gulli into her lap, stroking her scales gently.
"I could never give you up, precious," she admitted, feeling a bit foolish for the emotional turmoil she had just gone through. But glad, ultimately, that nothing had been done physically. She still had to get out of this dream room and back to reality though.
The dragon chirped happily, relieved her human had come to her senses at last!

Now she just had to find a way to get them out of here. Her room had been windowless, as were most bedrooms. The castle had been built into the side of the mountain and the sleeping areas were required to be safe, from the times when the kingdoms were at war. This was one reason Jinx had spent her time outside of her room, enjoying the sunshine and crisp, fresh air. She'd even sometimes fallen asleep with a window open on the outer rooms of the castle.
So there were no doors or windows here that she could use to get out a normal way. "I don't suppose you know how to teleport us to somewhere else?" she asked Gulli. But unlike the tat lung, Selkie and Lillai, Gulli and she didn't speak the same language. The baby dragon looked at her and tilted her head. Jinx was willing to bet the dragon understood her intent, but the words were lost.

Jinx first started to go around the room and press the stones that made up her walls. Maybe there was a trap door somewhere in here? She walked around the room for what felt like forever, trying what ever she could think of. She ended up finding a couple more eggs to add to her necklace, which seemed decently laden now though not at all as many as she had found at the river, but no trap door. Think, think, think... she groaned and rubbed her temples. Maybe she could think their way out? She closed her eyes and invisioned the mansion where they had left. Not the inside, since she hadn't seen enough of that to commit it to memory yet, but the outside would do. In fact, she'd prefer the outside at this point. She tried real hard to put them there. She strained enough that Gulli nudged her arm, concerned about the groaning noises coming from her human.

But that didn't help. When she cracked her eyes open, they were still there in that room. But if she wasn't mistaken, there was a crack in the wall that she didn't recall being there before. Had she thought hard enough at the wall and caused it? Or was she going mad? She tried again, this time forcing her thoughts outward rather than inward. Forcing he will upon the wall instead of wishing to whisk it away from here. She heard the cracks before she even opened her eyes again, and Gulli's chirp of alarm pierced her ears. Her eyes snapped completely opened and she saw the crack had widened. Feeling extra powerful, she did it more. And more. Until the wall had a solid crack in it almost big enough for her to slip her thin form through. It was all darkness beyond, who knew if it was a rat infested tunnel or freedom.

"I'm going," she told Gulli. She strode over to the Gash in the wall and slid her arm cautiously through it. The darkness was Intangible, so it was an open space beyond the wall, not a black stone face. Encouraged, she ducked her head and brought a leg up to slide sideways through the crack. She twisted her body and wiggled, feeling like the walls were closing in on her, ready to crush her, but she pressed on. She rolled off the side of the chunk of wall and fell into the darkness. She expected to hit the ground a few feet down, perhaps have a little of her wind knocked out of her, but instead she... kept falling. And falling.
She suddenly thought maybe there was nothing between her and the ground three stories down! Was she falling to her death?
With a squeak, Gulli was able to slide through the hole too, and she jumped down into the darkness.

They were falling through the darkness again, Jinx was loathe to admit. At least she wasn't going to splatter all over the ground from three stories up, because that would have happened already. The fact that she was still free falling had to be very much like when she left the mansion all that time ago. Now she was slowing down, or perhaps her sense of falling had dulled, and it was like floating in space again. Gulli floated, or perhaps glided, over to her and climbed into her lap just like last time. Jinx welcomed her and let her do her thing, thinking that maybe this time Gulli would take them home, get them out of here.
She waited, she tried hard to wait patiently, and finally there was a sliver of light ahead of them. They were approaching something, and she thought she could see green... perhaps outside of the Mansion with all of the flowers?

Unfortunately, it didn't seem to be the grounds of the mansion, or at least not the grounds Jinx had seen. They were in a forest - when the darkness had faded and dropped them, on Jinx's butt and Gulli still in her lap- and it wasnt a familiar one to her. She helped Gulli off her lap then stood up and dusted herself off. She looked around. There was a well worn trail nearby, and dense trees and underbrush all around. The sky was visible through leaves, sending patterned shadows down to the ground level. Jinx sighed softly and took in the fresh air. She loved the woods, felt most at home in the tree cover. But why was she here now? It seemed past midday, which was odd but she wasn't going to question it. It was harder to tell time here, after all. Gulli was on the ground, gazing around her in wonder. She seemed to like the woods too!

"Well I don't know why we are here..Herr... this isn't a place with strong memories for me. I dont even know where we are! Do you know?" she asked the dragon. She gazed up at Jinx with the cosmos swirling in her eyes and the girl found herself excited to go on an adventure with this being. While they couldn't communicate like the tat lung could, she felt like they were still bonding. Maybe one day they would speak! She called to her baby dragon and off they went at a brisk walk down the path. Jinx cared less about getting back home when staying right here could be a fun adventure!
As they walked, Jinx was sure she was hearing running water nearby, perhaps a stream or a babbling Brooke. That would be a great place to freshen up a little bit if nothing else! She listened hard and headed in the direction the sound was coming from.

Things started to get a little weird when she reached the stream. Jinx glanced around and it looked like they were alone, but she felt like she was with a group of others. She couldn't tell if these others were animals or people, she just had the feeling that... others... were near. Surrounding them. It wasn't out of malice or anything negative, either. Almost like a clan gathering at the watering hole to drink in peace.
But it was enough to raise the hairs on the back of her neck!
Gulli sensed something was up as well and she was hesitant to go to the water. But they were both so thirsty, suddenly, and the water was right there... Jinx could probably hold it and find water elsewhere, she'd gone longer with less before. But she could sense Gulli's need and knew the dragon wasnt going to drink without her drinking as well. And maybe not even then.

Jinx steeled herself before she walked down to the water's edge. She knelt there, in the midst of Other and leaned over the water. She slipped her hands in and relished the cool feel of the water running over her hands and through her fingers. It was reassuring even while her nerves were tingling violently to try and get her out of there. She brought the water she captured in her clasped hands to her mouth. As she did so, she thought she saw a dancing of colors in the water. She hesitated, watching. Was she seeing things or was that magic in the water? She waited a heartbeat more before making her decision- she decided to drink anyway. She swallowed the water down and sighed audibly, startling Gulli who had been waiting on pins ans needles to see what Jinx would do. When nothing happened immediately to her, the dragon scuttled down after her to join her.
