She had been made aware of an area to take the crystals she had found and make them into something with magic. While she hadn't believed it at first, the physical evidence was too much to ignore, and, given payment, found herself plied with a few other items and she was on her way. There had been specific instructions given as well, along with a warning, do it wrong and you die. She had her jaw set with grim determination as she reached the area with the altar. While she had never subscribed to any specific religion, she was still a tad bit spiritual. While most things needed to be seen to believed, she also believed she shouldn't anger something that might have control over her at any given moment. She would complete the ritual tonight and be done with it, send it to the woman who had paid her and that would be that. 1/5

Nat knew these things were not to be meddled with, and as she strode with purpose up the stairs to the altar, she realized there were images of the process on the walls to the side of her, and it painted a gruesome process. At least the credits would kind of make up for it she supposed. Nat was ready to begin this she supposed, and as she reached the altar, she nodded to the priests who were standing there, waiting for her contribution to the node, she supposed. She gave a quick sigh and got to work, taking the items out of a pouch at her hip she had been loaned for this very occasion. The two crystals she had found, remnant crystals she had been told, along with a prismatic crystal and an oval mind crystal. At least that's what the other woman had told her they were called. They were laid in a diamond pattern on the altar.

The last thing to be brought out was a set of berries, healing berries apparently, which were supposed to keep her alive while her soul was torn asunder. Nat eyed them suspiciously, but oh well, maybe the other woman was simply superstitious, that might explain it. Still, she was careful enough to realize she would need to do what she had been told to keep herself safe. It was a goodly amount of credits at least... Nat took the berries and carefully chewed them, wiping a little bit of pink juice off of her fur around her muzzle to keep it from staining. They were juicy and a little bittersweet, though not intolerable. They actually mixed quite nice once you had a bite of all three at a time. She eyed the priests and then shook her head, the next would be the worst, bleeding when you have fur never ended well, she would have to groom later on.

Nat stared at the knife on the altar, it looked like it had never been cleaned. Ah well, a stiff round of antibiotics would help her out if she had an infection. She looked at the knife again and then picked it up and pulled it across her forearm, drawing blood in a decent amount. She then put the knife down and then held her arm over the items on the altar. Blood dropped on the mind crystal, the prismatic crystal, and then the two remnant crystals. She pulled her arm back and bandaged it, she had made sure to bring one for herself after she had been told the process, and she didn't want to lose more blood than she absolutely had to. It was a strange way to look at things she figured, but that was alright as long as it worked for her. Nat stared ahead for a moment, waiting to see if it had worked.

Something pulled at her chest, and she dropped to her knees as it tugged and pulled. The priests were getting blurry and she didn't know what was happening. Did she truly have a soul? Had everything been true to form? Not superstition then, but what? There couldn't be this in the world, though she had opted to believe it could happen, she didn't believe it would happen, there was a large difference in the two. Nat dropped her head to the ground and gritted her teeth through the tug, unsure of what was happening and if she would survive it. She was old, that much was certain, though not as old as she could be at this point. She was in the prime of her life still, she could survive this without question. Honestly she had survived quite worse, though she didn't want to bring up the gunshot that had maimed her for life...
