Here was the moment of truth. Jewel watched as Rosie considered - her mouth was on the apple, she could practically swallow it whenever she felt like. However, she was held still, looking up at him with what seemed to be a mixture of curiosity and annoyance. Either way, it was stopping her, and that was the goal. Then, with a huff, she let it drop and straightened up. " Good girl! What a good girl!" He advanced on her immediately and rubbed his hands over her neck, smiling when she pressed into the petting. " You're so smart. Good job, Rosie." It was high time that she got to have the apple. Jewel scooped it up from the ground and dusted the dirt from it before holding it out to her. Suspicious, she eyed him; she wasn't going to forget that nonsense so quickly. " Seriously, eat it," The fae laughed. Once she was satisfied it wasn't going to be removed, the Chiryma was happy to acquiesce. (No - 5

That was eventful. Was Rosie going to get sick of apples? Jewel doubted it, but maybe if they went too hard she'd lose interest in working for a reward. Still, he was confident that her stomach would be able to cope with it, so they'd press onwards - they'd go with stay as their next venture. He wasn't sure that Rosie was interested in following him in the first place, based on the effort he'd taken to coax her up to the lot, but he wasn't going to take any chances. While she was preoccupied with munching her apple, he began to back away, creating a decent amount of space between them. It couldn't have been more than ten feet or so; baby steps, so he could build up. " Stay. Stay, Rosie." There was a twitch of recognition at her name, but the other word meant nothing to her, and she was still crunching the remainder of her fruit. (Stay - 1

Well, that worked. If she wasn't interested in coming to him, that still counted as a 'stay', right? Jewel's lips quirked with amusement as Rosie finished up her treat and recognised that he was backing away from her - her head cocked to the side in confusion. What was he playing at now? " Stay. Stay, Rosie." He kept his tone firm and rooted himself to the spot. The Chiryma put one toe forwards, and he was there to correct her immediately. " No! Stay, Rosie, stay." That was confusing. She understood that she was doing something wrong, but what? Moving? She decided to press forwards with her other foot to see if that was any better-- " Stay!" There it came again, the sharp word that she didn't understand. Her tail lashed impatiently. No matter how many apples she was fed, she wouldn't be pushed around! With a huff, she took a step. " No!" Jewel wasn't going to let her get away lightly. Even if she had a tantrum, he was going to get through to her - and then he'd pet the living daylights out of her once they were done. All work and no play would make the pair of them miserable. " Stay. Rosie, stay." The Chiryma was once again at a standstill, though not because she particularly wanted to be. It was mostly out of annoyance; she didn't want to be by him if he was going to be a nag about it! " Good. Good girl," He called, then slowly made his way across the lot. Her eyes followed, and he could see her twitching, raring to chase after him even if it was just to peck him to death. " Stay, Rosie. Stay. Good girl." At last, he stood at the opposite side of the field, as far as he'd dared risk it thus far. (Stay - 3

Jewel stared, and Rosie stared back. They were locked in a breed of western showdown; he half expected her to pull a gun from beneath her wing any moment. That'd be a sight. Her neck bobbed as she considered, but she didn't move. " Good stay, Rosie," He said. Spurred on by his voice, she raised a toe to move forward. " No! Stay. You're doing good. Don't ruin it now." Rosie had no concept of ruining anything, but begrudgingly put her feet back to solid ground. Whatever. It was getting old fast, and there were more interesting things to do-- was that another apple flying towards her?! Indeed it was, and it hit the dirt at her feet with a thunk. Great! Instantly pacified, she leaned down to snatch it up. Good. With that final distraction, Jewel made his way over to the opposite end of the plot. He was almost there when Rosie caught wind of him. She was going to move. Jewel could see it - she tensed, her eyes locked on him, and her leg twitched. " Stay!" It was as authoritative as he could hope to get with a giant bird. " Stay, Rosie." By some miracle, he saw her relax. She didn't look quite as frustrated after eating another apple, but for goodness' sake, he couldn't stuff her like a turkey until she was too full to move. Still, if it got the job done for now, it was a win in his book. He took the opportunity to shuffle along the fence, towards the far corner; she kept an eye out, but stayed where she was, albeit with a curious squawk. " Good! What a good girl!" She seemed excited by his happy tone when he rushed back across and held his arms out. Her tail swayed, and she made a throaty cooing noise as soon as he touched her, scratching at her neck. " You're so smart. Aren't you smart?" (Stay - 5
