That was exactly what Renathan thought. Shy Guy was going to get hit; and pretty dang hard too. Renathan swallowed thickly. They could have won this; but it seemed like everything was just kind of against them today. That happened to everyone; but Renathan was terrified of losing. He was grinding his teeth up in the stands, hoping that something would help, anything at all actually. Renathan knew before he heard it that the roar was going to be an issue. Ah, well. He watched as Shy Guy tried to shake off the noise, and then he whistled the command for the bite again; it was the best that they could do, right? Shy Guy caught himself, perhaps a little late, and then bared his fangs again. Come on, Shy Guy, come on, you have to do at least a little damage... Shy Guy finally shakes it off, faces the opponent, and tries his best.
[Shy Guy uses Venomous Bite again!] (Remember his stone skin, survival instincts, infectious bite and acid fang.)

Vidarr's crackling roar died off, still reverberating in the furthest stands when the stallion was already recovering himself. Lethalia was somewhat surprised to see the equillion shake it off and make for the drake in the air again, rounding on the drake for another go. Their clashing was inevitable, this time. There was such a heaviness to the air, after the first roars and blows were traded. If both creatures were still standing at this point, there was something interesting going on. Still so green to the pit herself, the satyr isn't certain she likes the feeling.
He wouldn't turn to look at her just now, but Lethalia was astounded the drake broadcast his intent to her as opposed to just... going for it. Once again she's unsure if he's shaken by this adversary or what, but she'll take it.
|Go. It's time,| she finds herself confirming, answering the drake's indirect question. That was all he needed.
|Yes!| Vidarr crowed, with a screech like an aftershock coming from him with the sheer thrill of being let loose. Talons outstretched, wings folded down for a steep dive to meet the enemy headed to join him midway in the air. It was astonishing to watch her drake in the air, how much his splayed claws looked like a raptor mid swoop... This would be nowhere that delicate with two literal giants. Lethalia sucked in a breath to brace herself against the backlash of it from Vidarr; this wasn't going to be pretty no matter the outcome of their clash.

Calculations
Vidarr uses Pounce + Harsh Gust Vidarr's Dexterity of 12 + 9 rolled by staff = 21 vs. the 8 of Shy Guy Vidarr will do the most damage possible Vidarr's Stamina of 11 + 10 damage of Harsh Gust = 21 damage 21 - 4 Resistance of Shy Guy = 17 Shy Guy has Stone Skin and will negate 1 damage Shy Guy has -8 Stamina left
Shy Guy uses Venomous Bite Shy Guy's Dexterity of 8 + 3 roll by staff = 11 vs. the 12 of Vidarr Shy Guy misses his attack!

Renathan was terrified. He was so terrified of losing; he'd done it before, but not with Shy Guy. He -felt- Shy Guy's pain with that last one, and it made him sick. Renathan saw RED, absolute RED and felt fear and rage. The owner practically ran down the stands, moving through the crowd with a speed that could only be explained by adrenaline. "STOP- Stop! I'm done, I forfeit, don't hurt him anymore!" He was stupid, stupid, STUPID for putting his favorite creature down in the pit, he was stupid for trying, and he was upset. He wasn't upset at the other owner, just at his own dumb self. He never should have put Shy Guy in danger. "Just- just stop. Disqualify us if you have to, we're done. I won't see him killed in this pit." The jackalope's heart was hammering, as Shy Guy just barely pulled himself up out of the dust of the pit, looking absolutely horrible. He should be dead, by now, he was so close to it. Renathan knew not to jump out in front of the sarane; any sarane; but he COULD speak to Sarane- using his ring. 'STOP you win; you win, he's mine, I'll kill you myself if I have to.' Renathan didn't even notice when the tips of his antlers caught flame, nor when his eyes very similarly flashed fire. At that, Renathan was down in the pit, standing over Shy Guy, he wasn't quite strong enough to get all the way back up.
Undoubtedly, they'd be banned from the tourney for this. He wanted to be.
[Renathan forfeits; please ban us from the Tourney ;3]

Dispersing the dust with his wing stroke to return to the air, Vidarr gained altitude to observe his work at a safe distance. Lethalia was distracted looking the drake over for blood; it was utterly confusing to find none. Attention diverted back the sand floor, she had something of a shock to see the stallion still moving in the dust. At first, the satyr's thoughts turned to wondering if perhaps Vidarr had slipped up and missed again, or the stallion was capable of taking far more of a hit than she'd thought. Moment more observation saw him contorted sickly, broken by a drake's weight but he was still going.
What -
What was wrong with him?! Though he didn't look to be undead on the surface, there was so much damage done for that body to be still moving. What would even result from being hit again? It was something of a relief to hear the commotion erupting from the crowd on the other side of the bleachers, relieved at not being faced with that decision before the other owner stepped in. She was no killer; not like this. |Vidarr, you need to stop.| This was certainly at odds to what she'd taught him before; weren't they supposed to finish off prey who was suffering? Vidarr had rounded on his adversary again, wings flaring before diving again; but there was a person there with his target, and they were yelling at him? |Vidarr!| snapped in his mind, and the drake's wings spread to catch the air and disrupting his dive, deterred enough. Even he knew he'd be in too much trouble for hitting one of the humanoids at the sands.
The drake slowed enough out of his steep descent stagger to the ground nearby, warded away enough from striking again between the two humans, but still panting and abuzz with unspent rage. Vidarr was utterly beside himself; this wasn't how things worked! Even he could see his opponent was down, but he had yet to have a fight end like this. Fine! Have him, the drake sneered, slinking away to the gate at his owner's behest, as she rushed down the stairs to retrieve him lest he do something stupid without her.
