Renathan was perhaps not the most excited about going to the Temple. He hadn't been last time, and he wouldn't be this time. However, he had promised to help Jack, and he always went through with his promises, even when he was nervous. He'd been planning on this anyway, giving his node-making services to individuals for pay, and he felt a bit bad taking pay from Jack to do it, even if technically she was a customer in this sense. He sighed, at the bottom of the steps, and looked up at the top. It was almost barbaric; looking at this strange, nearly out of place area from the bottom to the top. The mammalian would have to watch his feet and his tail as he climbed. And climb he did, of course, step after step after step, claws clicking against the stone of the steps. He sighed out, touching the pouch around his neck filled with the things that Jack had sent him with. He'd have to be careful, ever so careful with all of them. Remember; eat berries, cut, put blood on everything. Remember that. He told himself.

Renathan didn't take long to get to the top of the steps, and it really did wind him before he got up there. Recently he hadn't been doing well again, and had been staying at home a lot so that he didn't have to do much. Just feed the creatures, and weep mostly. He was bitter, at the moment. Perhaps that was why he was doing this so soon in the first place; he wanted to get it over with and get home. No one that died here really stayed dead anyway, so he wasn't too worried about the entire situation. He'd done this before, he knew how, after all. Renathan can already see the creepy people, the priests or whatever, up here. He didn't turn to look at them as he passed them, he just made his way up to the altar relatively quickly. Briskly. He wanted to get this over with, and he was a bit... Nervous. Renathan tried not to think of that.

Renathan was standing at the altar now. He could see the many stains here, he knew what they were. No longer was he the somewhat naive new individual around the city; he knew what was what now. Or at least he felt like he did. Renathan took a moment to catch his breath, and then pulled the pouch from around his neck, touching all of the items. There were so many pure crystals, the hum would probably have been deafening if it wasn't for the fact that he was right up on them. Crystals had a way of making his head hurt. Some of these had actually been found by him, actually. Renathan sat the mind crystal on the altar first, putting it in the middle. He carefully spread out the pure crystals around it after that. He looked down at all of them; he was holding the healing berries in his hand; they were in a baggie.

Renathan knew the process; objects, berries, blood, soul. He'd been here before, but never had he felt so... Strange about this. Perhaps it was because he'd brought magic to that one individual; the kid. The kid was so... Different now? Magic didn't help everyone, some people it became a nuisance, an obsession. It could be a force of evil, and he hadn't realized this before. Pethians were so different than the people of his homeland, and he had not been prepared, not really. He reminds himself; take the berry first. Renathan took all three berries into his hand, and then located the knife. The knife is ugly and scary, but he picks it up anyway. He knew that the berries would take care of him. Renathan takes the berries and pops them into his mouth. They are sweet, and have the hum of life in them; they would keep him safe. The incision would be next.

The incision was done as soon as he popped the berries into his mouth, his mask still on of course. He carefully took the knife and made the incision exactly where he had last time. He knew the drill; the blood needed to get on all of the ingredients. Renathan held his arm up over the ingredients, dripping the blood on each one of the crystals (so much blood, so many crystals!) and on the mind crystal, making sure all of the ingredients got at least one drop of blood. Renathan was anything if not meticulous. At this, Renathan took a breath. Ingredients, Berry, Blood, Soul. The work was nearly finished. Renathan offered the piece of expertly; he'd done it before and he learned everything so very quickly, the first time he did them. He felt the jerk; and was sure that it was the correct jerk; he felt a bit sick suddenly, and dropped to his knees. Ingredients. Berry. Blood. Soul. Renathan gave up the last piece, and saw black.
