It was time to volunteer a little she figured with a little smile on her face. She walked toward the Abandoned Pet Adoption Agency, the APAA, with Tobi on her shoulder to help her out and to bond a little with him for awhile. Sure, they were incredibly close already, but he needed more experience out in the world she figured with a smile, he wouldn't do too much at the moment, just hang out with her and the animals and help her if he needed to. She thought the APAA animals were pretty well behaved, but that wasn't really the point of it she thought. Sometimes a bad seed was in there she thought, and that wouldn't do at all. Jack pushed her hair back as they walked, and she wondered what all they were going to have her do. Clean out kennels and perhaps socialize some of them she thought, that wouldn't be horrible. 1

Whatever happened, she was thrilled with the prospect of helping out. Well maybe not thrilled, but who knew really, she was at least happy about the idea, which was definitely something that was good for her to think at the moment. Jack stretched out a little, upsetting the little bird on her shoulder for a moment before he finally settled back down. It was a long walk to the APAA, and it was quite hot outside, she couldn't wait to be inside where it was much, much cooler. Just not so cold as to be freezing she hoped with a little laugh as she reached up and patted Tobi on the head. She wasn't quite sure what to do with things at the moment, and that was fine when it all came down to it she thought. Almost skipping, she was excited to help out the downtrodden animals, and she had to admit, she'd donated a few animals herself...

She felt bad about taking animals to the APAA, but she had no other choice, at least here they were taken care of and all that, she had to admit they were probably better taken care of here than at her Kennel at this point. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, she didn't know what to do about it, but that was the only option she'd seen at that point. She shrugged a little, disrupting the Jibiji again, and she didn't know what to do about things at the moment. Without a doubt, at least they were taken care of, and that was all that mattered, she was trying to clear out her Kennel a little, not hoard so many animals at a time it seemed, and it was working, she had gotten rid of a lot of animals in the past, and a few were here at the APAA, she wondered if any of them would remember her.

Everything would be fine she figured as she finally reached the door to the APAA, Tobi on her shoulder. They reflected in the glass door, and Jack realized she looked a little sad for some reason, maybe it had to do with seeing some of the animals she had given away awhile ago. Sighing, she pushed open the door and entered, smiling at Matthew, "I'm here to volunteer!" After getting permission, she walked into the back of the building with Tobi flying behind her now and looked around. The first matter of business was to clean kennels she figured, and she found trash bags and shredded paper and pine chips to put in the bottoms of the kennels. This was going to be easy enough she figured with a smile, but she didn't know what else to do at the moment aside from this. She really didn't even know where to start at this point.

Well, start at the left and work your way around, she figured to herself as she sighed a little. Tobi sat on the top of one of the kennels, tilting his head and watching as she got everything together and then looked down at the kennel. A small Wild Equillion looked up at her with big eyes, and she wasn't sure she could handle this after all. She had brought her own Wild Equillion here, but this one was much younger, a juvenile she figured with a little sigh. She was here to work though, and work she would when it all came down to it. Yes, she could do this, she could push through. After she cleaned the kennel she would groom the animal, feed them, and then put them back into the kennel. It would work out rather well she thought, and she shook her head a little bit, at least.

The little Equillion played for awhile as the woman cleaned out the kennel. Taking care of all of these animals and their kennels was going to take all day she figured with a little sigh. Oh well, that was what she got for doing what she did all the time she figured. Smiling, the woman watched as the little Equillion played before yawning a little. It wasn't a baby, but it would still wear out after awhile, but that was fine and all that, she figured with a little smile on her face. It didn't matter either way and all that, but that was fine as well. She smiled a little more as Tobi fluttered down to her shoulder as she cleaned out the kennel, and that was the issue right now. Really she wanted to keep him out of the way, but that was alright at the same time she thought with a little nod.

She wasn't sure what to do with things at the moment, but that was alright she figured. Tobi was happy with her at the moment, and that was all that mattered she figured. Jack wasn't sure what to do with the kennel after it was all cleaned out and ready to go, so she left it for now and went and got the grooming tools to clean up the little Equillion. Tobi watched as she brushed the Equillion's fur a little, getting any knots and tangles out of its mane and the rest of its fur. Jack pushed her hand through her hair and smiled a little bit as she wondered what was going to happen. Everything was fine so far, and then she ushered the little one back into the kennel and looked around some more. Some of them were stacked if they were small enough, but most had their own wall space it seemed.

Next up was an Inkrum. She'd had one at one point but had sold it, this one wasn't familiar to her, but not many people had Inkrum to begin with it seemed, they weren't a very popular species she figured. Not that there was anything wrong with them, they just didn't seem to do much to begin with it seemed. Jack sighed a little and let the flying turtle out of the kennel, and it swooped around the room in front of Tobi for a little bit before he got agitated and flew after it. Jack chuckled a bit and then turned to clean out the kennel. This one was quite messy it seemed, and she didn't know what to do with it. Well then, she figured she had better clean it to the best of her abilities. The room back here was slightly slanted and there was a drain in the middle of the floor.

Really, all she had to do was spray out the kennel when she got the old paper out of it and the water would flow into the drain. It was a good thing there was no carpet she figured with a little smile, that made it much easier than any other way it seemed. Well, time to work she figured as she cleaned out the kennel. Tobi was having fun with the little Inkrum, though she knew he was aware not to make friends here, because they weren't taking any of them home. It was the place where nothing else was going to happen, she might taken home one of the pocketpets, but she wasn't sure just yet she thought. Jack pushed her hair back and then finally tied it back, wondering what she was going to do at the moment to get everything finished. She sprayed out the kennel and then dried it and put new shredded paper in. There, all done.

The Inkrum was going to be different to groom than the Equillion had been she knew with a smile, but that was alright. She reached out and plucked it from the air when it passed by with Tobi flying after it, and then started to groom its wings and shell. The shell would be polished, and the wings were worried a little with a special brush for feathers, and while a few fell out, she was sure they were supposed to fall out, they were most likely loose to begin with and just needed that little extra touch to fall. Smiling a little, she put the Inkrum back into the kennel and then stretched herself out a little bit, this was going to be an exhausting day, but she figured at the end she would be tired enough to sleep like the dead, which was part of what she was aiming for at this point.

Tobi landed on her shoulder and chirped at her until she patted him on the head a little bit. She then turned her attention to the next kennel, a Kakum Baakir was in there, and looking quite regal at that she thought. Jack smiled a little and let it out of the kennel so it could kick up its heels a little bit and run around. They were all cooped up in their kennels for awhile it seemed, so they enjoyed when they could head out of the kennels when they were being cleaned. Once again this kennel was a little dirty, and the woman sighed a little bit as she started to clean it out. Matthew took good care of the animals here, but there was only so much work he could do at once she supposed. That was fine though, she didn't know what else there was going to be about now.

Fluttering over to the Baakir, Tobi chittered to it for a moment before perching on its head. It yawned a little and settled down, even though it could move around better than in the kennel, the young Baakir was tired it seemed. Well, she had woken it up from a nap, that had to count for something she thought. Oh well, if it didn't want to run and play that was fine she thought with a smile on her face as she started to spray out the kennel. She had gotten all of the shredded paper out of it at this point and just had to spray it out and dry it. She grabbed a towel from a large stack of them in the corner and then dried it down, stretching out her shoulders a little as she did so. Things were going well so far, she had done three kennels out of... well... she didn't really know.

Jack slowly counted the kennels in the room and swore under her breath. There were thirty nine kennels in the APAA that had animals in them, that was going to take all day and maybe all of tomorrow as well with as much as she was doing. Giving a little sigh, she shook her head and started to groom the short fur of the Baakir that Tobi was perched on at the moment. He wasn't very impressed with things, but at least he was having a little bit of fun with some of the animals, and he definitely needed it if he was going to fight. Sure he was exposed to a lot of different animals at home, but they weren't going to attack him, he was safe there. This was another story she figured, and while they were the least scary of any animals there, she figured it would do something good for him.

The Baakir went back into the kennel and Jack stretched out again. She would need to do that after every cleaning it felt like, she chuckled. Tobi was helping by distracting the animals at least, but she was worried about what the Estharne would do to him if he hovered too close to them. Maybe they would be the breaking point for him at the moment, that would be nice. An adult Frost Izer was next it seemed, and it waddled out of the kennel without taking to the air. Tobi tilted his head and chirped at it, to which it squawked back at him as though trying to talk to him. That wouldn't be a bad thing at least, he needed some birds to talk to, but he wasn't sure what was going to happen at the same time. Well, time to clean the kennel she figured, that Izer must not know how to fly.

Jack cleaned out the kennel as Tobi and the Izer talked to each other. It must be nice to know what they were saying she figured with a smile on her face as they chirped and tittered at each other. It was kind of nice to see him with another bird, she should get another Jibiji to mate him with or something, and one breed flitted across her mind for the moment. They were the biggest ones, which would certainly be nice she figured, and then she nodded, she would try and find one, though they were pretty rare at that she thought. Jack pushed her hair back as she worked on the kennel, finally getting to spray it out and dry it before putting more paper shred in the bottom of it. She wondered where he got so much of it, but wasn't about to start looking through it. It wasn't her place to look, after all.
