Ah, orbaru breedings. Renathan had forgotten what it was like to even do one of these it had been so long. Orbaru were quite a bit more difficult than pachee, that was for sure. Pachee were really simple breedings compared to the hijinx that could occur when Orbaru were around eachother. Renathan had never gotten the chance to breed a few of the orbaru he had, and well, he had a few pregnant orbaru that had never had their babies! He was glad to note that they had their babies recently, and orbaru were apparently back in season again. Renathan really didn't know what all of that meant, to be honest, but hey, it meant that they could breed again. It was one of his favorite pastimes, so he hoped that he would be able to just do this sometimes again. Renathan brought two carriers under his arms today; both of them holding a silky from particular lineages of his, and he adored them so much. One of them was one of the recent kits from his ever-pregnant orbaru; a female named Zelda. The other was a male from one of his absolute favorite orbaru of all times that he'd never gotten to breed before.

Renathan had been so busy lately that he hadn't really gotten the chance to actually work on anything other than the stuff he had to do at his job, and sometimes he really wanted to be able to do things that he wanted to do. Don't get him wrong, Renathan loves his job and wouldn't like it any other way, especially while the gemstone workshop was down, but he missed going out and just... Doing stuff. Like this. Renathan doesn't really take long to get to the breeding center with his long strides and deep thoughts, it would seem. He felt a bit odd, being without Auburn; her being around and breathing his air was like second nature to him, but a big part of the breeding center's rules were that everything needed to remain perfectly clean at all times. Sterile; they called it- Renathan's people had called it something else, but it made sense. Apparently it was much healthier for the orbaru to breed here instead out anywhere else, which was why he tended to keep his males and females separated slightly, but in his experience; it was easy to tell when the females were in season and needed to be separated.

Renathan hadn't had any issues with the orbaru causing surprise kits before, well, save for the kits that finally came after a couple of years from the orbaru that had been pregnant for so long if those counted. He'd barely even remembered which males had bred with which females until the kits had come out! However, he didn't have to worry about that any more, did he? Supposedly all of the issues had been worked out, and the orbaru would produce again. Renathan had no idea what had caused them to stop producing in the first place; and he had all of his females under his watchful eye all of the time; how had the Labs got in to 'fix' his orbaru females right under his nose? Renathan had no idea, and really, he didn't want to know. He liked orbaru too much to really figure out exactly what they were and what was going on with them. He figured that it would take the mystery out of them that he liked so much. Renathan can already see that the waiting room is filled to the brim! He takes both of the orbaru and finds a place to sit, since the line is still long.

So, it would take quite a while, huh? The poor counter worker looked so overworked and tired that Renathan knew it was going to be a while. Plus, the line had to have been at least a mile long; and there were many people holding... Slips of paper out here in the waiting room. Oh, that's never a good sign. Renathan sat both of his carriers down next to his seat, and then looked around the room for the number machine. Some places had those things, and they told you your place in line. Renathan finally caught sight of one and got up for a split second to grab one. He sat down, thankful that no one had taken his seat yet; though someone did give it a good look once they came in, but they hit the ticket machine behind him instead. Well, he hoped his luck would continue to prove out; he was hoping that the numbers really weren't all that high... Oh. 99. That's not a good sign, is it? Renathan looked up at the line and sighed. There were only so many rooms available; since they had to be sanitized between outings. Renathan wondered what he should do.

Renathan sighed and gently bent down, facing the two critter crates toward one another so that the orbaru could see each other. He figured that he might as well get the two of them acquainted while they were out here; maybe they would breed faster if they saw each other now. Poor Laharu looked scared and confused; there were a ton of orbaru in this room making their little orbaru noises, and of course that meant also a ton of intact females in heat around here in this waiting room. He had no idea where the females were, only that there were a ton of them that perhaps might need his attention, and the poor simple orbaru brain wasn't really taking it well. Zelda on the other hand was immediately interested in him; his smell was closer than the other males, and that was that. She looked at him with her powder-pink eyes like saucers, wiggling her cute little nose and then giving the long fur on her forelimbs a cute lick. "Isn't he cute, Zelda? He'll start paying attention to you pretty soon, I'll bet." Renathan looked back over to Laharu, and sighed. They'd really need to get him in a room before he'd pay attention.

Renathan really needed to get these two into a room if he was going to manage to get them to pay attention to each other. Thankfully, the last person to have come in was the last person that had come in for a while, so maybe this is all the people that will have to wait today? The person that was currently in the front of the line had been there for a while now; perhaps all of the rooms were taken up? Renathan looked up from the orbaru and tried to figure out what they were doing, and what was going on. About five moments of looking over the exhausted group of people; someone sheepishly came out from the hallways that had the rooms in them, and the person in the very back of the line absolutely freaked out. Screaming and hollaring, pushing sweat out of their brow and holding up two carriers. The person in front of them clapped their hand over their mouth; they could be thrown out for that, didn't they know? Renathan looked down at his own pair. This was going to be a nightmare today, wasn't it? Renathan sighed; taht was what he got for being one of the first few in the door.

There was so much that needed to be done today, and Renathan was going to be here forever, wasn't he? Renathan might need to get a hold of his customers and let them know that the orders might take a bit longer to do than he had meant to do originally. Renathan couldn't help feeling a little bit selfish this go around, it was a huge accident to get into this trouble. Ah well, he really wanted to breed Zelda and Laharu, and he was going to do it; darnit! Renathan sat there feeling pretty defiant as he watched an individual run in and go to clean the room. The person at the front of the line looked hopeful; but it would take a moment to clean the room, right? Renathan waited there, tapping his foot on the ground and watching Laharu's carrier, hoping that he would stop being so shell shocked soon and at least play with Zelda through the grate or something. He wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, and that meant that when it was time to get them into the room, that they would need to breed as soon as possible. So they needed to bond, like, now.

Renathan put his finger in Laharu's carrier carefully, and then smiled at him. "Hello there boyo, you're going to have to be calm and wait for a bit, okay? I know there are a lot of females in here, but this one right here is yours. You need to woo her, or she'll never accept you." He said, softly, trying to think about the critters instead of the situation that they were in right now. Laharu seemed to realize that Renathan was there only just now, perhaps he couldn't smell Renathan like he normally could right now, with all of the female smells. "See Laharu, I'm here. Just sit back and enjoy yourself, and calm down." Renathan continued, trying to keep him calmed down. Zelda had scooted forward in her carrier, trying to put her paws through the grate to be able to get to the male. However, she couldn't quite do it with all of that fluff in the way. Ah, well, that was fine. They'd have to wait until they got into a room to breed, or Renathan could get into trouble, anyway. Renathan wasn't sure entirely how orbaru did that sort of thing; just that there was a light at the end.

Renathan sighed. He'd really wanted to get these two bred today, but it was going to be difficult now, wasn't it? He looked up, pulling his finger out of Laharu's crate, and glanced around. He was number 99, but that didn't necessarily mean that there was currently 99 people he was waiting on, right? He took a quick glance at the person closest to his seat's number; 35. See, that was a good sign; that meant that there were quite a few people, but it probably wasn't from 0, right? Renathan tried to reason with himself. Suddenly, someone scurried out from the hallway with the breeding rooms; ah, the cleaner. So that meant that the room was done... The breeding helper called out a number; 29. Someone got up from the seats, and practically ran back there, with two crates under their arms... Ah, okay, so it was 29 to 99, all things considered, it could be worse. Renathan wondered if there was any water around here that he could give to the creatures, in the meantime. The person at the front of the line went and sat down in that person's seat; their number was... Renathan squinted. 37. Ah, okay, now Renathan was getting an idea of what was going on.

Renathan just had to... Wait. He'd get into the line a bit later, he decided, when it was about half of where it was now. He wasn't about to wait that long standing with these two creatures having a hard time dealing with the moving... Laharu was already acting really anxious, after all. "Don't worry you two, we'll get y'all in a room soon." He said, murmuring to them. Someone else had their orbaru out on leashes instead of in crates, and Renathan wondered if that somehow kept them from being able to breed or something in the meantime. Ah, well, it couldn't be helped, everyone was having to wait. Someone else came out of the hallway with two orbaru crates; and then another individual went back there to clean the room. The person at the front of the line was looking hopeful, but Renathan knew that they probably were not next. Renathan felt even more bad for the person that came in behind him; number 100, or something like that, right? It didn't take as long this time for the room to be cleaned, and then number 30. Just as number 30 was heading back, someone else came out of the hallway carrying two crates.

It would seem that it was going to be a tad quicker than it had already by now, and Renathan was glad for that, for sure. He didn't want to sit here and wait forever, to be honest. "Well, looks like we might get our chance... Well, not soon, but at some point." He said, gently petting Zelda's front left paw, which she has stuck through one of the holes in the grate. That's fine; they were big enough for her to without getting hurt, at least put it out there a little bit. Renathan thought that Zelda was one of the cutest little critters that he'd seen in a while; her markings just looked great in that long silky fur. "Aren't you just a cutey? I bet this guy will be all excited when y'all get to focus on eachother." Renathan said, trying to fill up the time. Already, someone was already going out to the room that was just made unoccupied to go clean it. The first one came back pretty quickly; and called out number 31. It didn't take long for the next one to come back as well, and call out 32. Renathan smiled down at the two orbaru at his feet.

The pair were just adorable, and he was sure that they would be adorable to watch play, here soon. There was so much that he needed to do, so he told himself it would be soon even thought it was a very good chance that there probably would be a huge wait for them. Renathan was not happy about that, of course, but it was just the way that it worked out sometimes. "Don't worry you two, we'll get our chance. They're coming out pretty quick now." Almost too quick for the assistants to be able to keep up with it and actually get the rooms cleaned. 33, 34, and even 35 were called back in quick order; with about ten minutes apart between them. That was funny to Renathan; but at least more people in the line were getting to sit down now. Soon enough, Renathan would be able to get in line and get the forms all filled out. He gently made sure that the creatures were comfortable, and then was very pleased to see Laharu begin to creep forward, slowly, as if he just figured out that there was a female right in front of his face.

"Ah, now you see her, don't you?" Renathan asked Laharu, of course rhetorically. The room was getting less stuffy a bit at a time, and it would seem that the male could now start to make sense of his environment. Then again, there were six less females in this room than there had been earlier. Renathan looked up, and then tried to figure out if it was best for him to go get into the line now, or not? Renathan tilted his head, thinking. 'What do you two think, huh?" Renathan said, once again rhetorically, to the two orbaru. Zelda was rubbing up against the grate now, her sides; perhaps showing off her markings a bit. Weren't silky orbaru just very vain in a way? Renathan shook his head, thinking about how these creatures would make great show critters in the long run. 'Alright, alright, we'll get into line." He said. He held his number carefully in his hand and then picked up both orbaru crates ever so gently, and then got into the line, trying to hold them as straight as possible to keep them from getting stressed in the crates. He finally gives up on that, and puts them down on the floor in the crates.

Perhaps getting into the line at the end here wasn't the best idea. The person in front of Renathan was very angry acting, and Renathan wasn't sure what to do about him. Sure, Renathan didn't really want to get thrown out, but they were starting to think that this person might just hurt somebody if they weren't careful. How long had he been standing here at the near end of the line, anyway? Thankfully the person in front of them seemed to be keeping them at least somewhat controlled. Should someone that angry really be allowed to keep critters? People needed lots of patience to be able to deal with orbaru, which were pretty stupid all things considered. Renathan kept an eye on him anyway, worriedly. However, he made sure to bend down and make sure that the orbarus that Renathan had bought were faced toward one another. Laharu was now super interested in Zelda. Renathan was glad about that, at least one thing was going good today! Suddenly, someone came out from the hallway with the rooms, carrying two crates again. Renathan grinned beneath the mask as he watched someone go back to clean the room. Soon, soon enough, he just had to wait.
