This was one of those pairings that Renathan had just thought of recently, but he figured could not go wrong. The glowing markings of the beautiful male, and the sort of stripe-spots that the female had seemed like they would be perfect matches. The images of a white or black orbaru with those gorgeous rainbow colored glowing stripes was just... Wow. Sure, babies didn't always wind up the way you wanted, but Renathan really, really hoped that this pair would put off an offspring, at least one, like that. He was not, however, hoping for grey, and man that was a possibility too. It was a real gamble, but one that Renathan was willing to make though it was going to take another coupe of hours today to do, despite the fact that he probably should have been doing something (anything) else. While Pursia was of course quite ready to breed, having gone into readiness and all (which was one of the reasons why she was here), Gummi was positively flipping out. He wanted to play, and he wanted to play NOW. Renathan was having a hard time keeping him balanced in his carrier. If only he had been asleep like Howie had been this last time!

The so-called 'gummy worm' or whatever Orbaru were amazing to Renathan. It was simply baffling that their stripes glowed the way that they did; usually only certain male orbaru had bioluminescence, and always in their tail orb. However; these had glowing stripes on both the male AND the female. He had a female too, honestly he liked her colors ever so slightly better; but alas, the males were also adorable. The ones that Renathan had were named Candi and Gummi; and it was Gummi that was being bred today with any luck. They were v2s, and v2s were always Renathan's absolute favorite. They were just perfect, absolutely perfect. He loved their curly ears, their thinner bodies, and their three-toed feet; he was so glad that these had been created. Renathan did, however, hope that Gummi would stop moving around in his carrier so much as they made their way to the breeding center; he could see the female through the holes in their carries, and he was super ready. His eyes were bright neon green and practically glowed in the critter crate. Pursia, on the other hand, hadn't noticed him yet and instead was licking her super long fur into place. She'd been bred before and wasn't too worried it would seem.

Pursia was a beautiful female, and was chosen not only for her beautiful silky white fur and black spot-stripes, but also her bright cherry-red eyes. There was no orbaru like her anywhere else except for a single son that she had; and he had the prettiest cherry-red tail orb that Renathan had ever seen. He'd wished he had been able to keep that one himself, but he tried not to take the first pick in his shared breedings; he thought it was icky of him. However, he was hoping that Pursia would produce something similar for him again, he really, really loved the idea of that. This was the last pair that he was allowed to breed this month; which sucked because next month he was going to have substantially less time to actually do this... Ah well, he had a few other pairs that were really exciting for him; including repeating this one if the babies turned out in a way he hadn't been expecting. That happened most of the time, actually, sometimes they were even better than he had thought that they would be! "Gummi, hey, stop moving around so much!" He said, stopping to stare down into the critter crate. "Goodness, Gummi."

Right about that time, Pursia made a soft noise; a surprised noise. Oh, oh no. That isn't good, Renathan thought. He glanced down at her next, and she had finally noticed the male. Her being in the condition that she was indeed in; she was really excited about that. Thankfully, Renathan was constantly vigilant with his pairs at home, so whenever the females went to go into that condition; he kept them away from the males, so they weren't quite used to, well, this. Pursia, however, had pretty much been in this exact situation before; and she seemed to know why she was here. Now he had not one, but two orbaru beneath his arms in carriers trying to jump up and down while he was walking. Great. That and it was hot outside this time of year, so he was having a bit of a hard time dealing with that. They were going to over heat theirselves at this rate, and he couldn't stand that. "Hey, hey you two, will you hold off until; HEY." He was babbling at this point. "You two have got to stop until we get in; oh thank goodness we're almost there." He sighed.

The first time that Renathan had been here this month; the lobby had been absolutely filled to the brim with people. It had been a long wait, and wholly unacceptable really. Renathan told himself that if too many people were there today; he'd just go home. The last time Renathan had been here, with Howie and Koi (a pair that Renathan probably should have waited until next month to do in all honesty), they had nearly been here for two hours, which was just... Wow. Hopefully, today would be a bit different. He was really hoping that there would not be very many people today here at all; people were just super excited about them, after all, so maybe it would have died down just a bit? He didn't have two hours to spend here, today. He really needed to have a more open time slot during his day to do this, but he really wanted to work on this pair this month, so this time slot it was to make sure that they caught the female in her condition at just the right time. Orbaru were, after all, a little different than pachee. That made them a tad more difficult.

Renathan put his padded hand on the doorknob to the door, and then moved the orbaru carrier under his arm just a tad in an attempt to get the door open. After a bit of finangling, Renathan managed to get the door open just wide enough to catch it with a foot, and then he could open it the rest of the way for himself so that he could get through. The lights inside were a lot more dim than the sun, so he squinted into the relatively dimly lit breeding center. Perhaps he should have come later in the day so that he could see instead of looking around like an idiot in front of what could be a huge waiting room full of people. He stood there for just a moment while his bright pink eyes adjusted to the change in light. Soon, he managed to see more around him, and he immediately got in line. Thankfully, there was hardly anyone here already in the waiting room; but there was a goodly amount of people in line. That was probably a good sign, Renathan figured as he moved the orbaru carriers back into his hands from under his arms.

There was so much stuff going on recently that Renathan was super surprised that he'd actually had time to go out and work on this orbaru breeding thing as opposed to actually going out and doing any of the stuff he REALLY needed to be doing. "Welp, we're here." He murmured gently to the tiny creatures he had in the critter boxes. They had completely ignored what he had said earlier because of course the critters did not at all, with their tiny orbaru minds, understand a single word he was saying or even his body language in a roundabout way. Ah, well. Renathan had known that it would occur, of course, but it still made him feel better to talk at them. He hoped that they would be able to get in to the breeding rooms pretty quick so that he could have an excuse to sit down for a period of time. He'd been working so hard recently and it was a bit hard on his back to be standing hunched over much of the day. He was trying to work on a very fancy saddle he'd been commissioned to work on... Yeah, standing in the line was giving him a bit of a headache already.

Thankfully, the line was never too long for Renathan when it came to these kinds of things, especially since the waiting room didn't appear to be too crowded today. Ah, well, maybe next month would be much less difficult to wait through? Renathan was holding out hope that there would be less and less people to wait on each time he came in. This go around, Gummi and Pursia seemed much more excitable than any other pair he'd brought in recently. Well, maybe that was not quite fair to say? He had only brought just now three pairs in since orbaru had started being able to be bred again, and this one was indeed the most excitable of the pairs. Renathan stood there, an orbaru beneath each arm in creature crates, and boy were they loud with all of the 'booping' and leaping. Renathan had nearly forgotten how excitable orbaru could be, his last few pairs were very calm in comparison. Pursia had never been too excitable on her own, but she tended to feed off of the other orbaru she was with, and Gummi was practically bouncing off of the walls of his carrier; staring at Pursia with bright green eyes.

There was only so much time that Renathan had to do this in today, and he was determined that they would get it done today, instead of having to leave and possibly come back some other day. He really needed to get his allotted three breedings done this month. It was super important to him, even though he was really busy doing other things. He really cared a lot about finding new colors of orbaru; perhaps that would be a bad thing if he was doing the same thing with another sort of creature that perhaps didn't take to breeding in quite the natural (or rather, lab-created) manner that Orbaru tended to. Orbaru were, in fact, much different than other creatures. Renathan couldn't help but let his mind wander while he stood there in line, trying to ignore his headache. He disliked loud droning noises, and it seemed like people were talking a little more today among one another than they had been the other day. Huh, he wondered why that was? Perhaps there was a group of people that knew each other here today. Between them and his rambunctious orbaru, his head was absolutely splitting in pain. It was horrible.

Truth be told, Renathan should probably take all of his orbaru out and train them their names, stay, and silence. However; training a single orbaru anything at all was an extreme exercise in patience. They just weren't at all intelligent, and they tended to be easily distracted and simple. They were great house pets, but absolutely terrible at learning tricks and such. It baffles Renathan to no end that there are battle orbaru out there, somewhere. How were they trained to battle? Perhaps it was not surprising at all that he'd never heard of one actually being used in battle. Why take such a simple creature and make it battle? It would probably only be about as averagely strong as an Equillion; and obviously that didn't turn out well at all. Renathan shuddered at the thought, standing there in the line and feeling sick suddenly. He still wasn't feeling all that great about the whole tournament. Just thinking about it made him feel panicky, and he already felt absolutely terrible about everything. Luck sometimes left him in the most horrible of moments, and he couldn't be more upset about it. He was trying to distract himself from that, here with Gummi and Pursia today.

Renathan was honestly doing a terrible job running away from that fact, that... Loss. Something went wrong that day, he just knew it. It didn't even feel well, in all honesty; but of course he was being a sore loser. There was nothing worse than a sore loser in the pit, and now Renathan was just rolling in it. He disliked himself immensely now that he knew his own propensity for doing such. He wished... He wished that he'd known to keep his nose out of that mess. Now he was embarrassed, hotly so, and he refused to be around anyone else outside of a work situation because he didn't want to have to deal with any part of this at all. He hated the idea of it, the entire situation. So he was just running from it, and it wasn't working too well. He'd tried mining; and it made him a bit sick. He'd tried doing the mansion, and he hadn't been able to outrun it. He just has never once managed to deal with it in a healthy way. Breeding the orbaru was in the same thing, and really; the situation was not being dealt well with this either.

Renathan tried to quickly push the thoughts from his mind with happy ones. He grasped desperately mentally as he steps forward in the line, continuing and waiting as he did. Had he spent this long in a line previously? He really wasn't sure. He could feel the large baby berry in the pouch at his side; he knew that these baby berries were technically for people that borrowed his orbaru, but since no one was asking to do so, Renathan was going ahead and breeding his own pairs and using them himself. He perhaps felt a bit bad about that; but he would go back in order to get more if he ran out right away, so he was not at all worried. His babies from the Howie pairing had not been produced yet; but Koi was looking more and more ready to have them as the time went passed. He wondered if Pursia would manage to throw him some really pretty babies or not? He really wasn't sure, but he hoped that this pairing would turn out even better than he thought it would. Now that his mind was sincerely on other things, his head was starting to hurt just a little bit less.

Renathan couldn't help but glance at Pursia in the carrier. She was easily Renathan's prettiest female, in his own opinion. Her cherry eyes were especially pretty; he thought again. He really adored them and hoped that they would pass in the future again. They had passed to one offspring in the past, and he was super pretty. Renathan had not wound up with that one, and he was a bit jealous of him. However; it was all good; he could make an infinite number of orbaru if time went on forever, so he was sure that she would pass them to a pretty offspring in the future, even if he had to breed her every month for the next seven years. That was what the mammalian had decided. She peered out of the critter crate at him with those big cherry eyes, blinking rapidly. "Aren't you a pretty one, Pursia? Don't worry." He said to her, stepping forward in the line again when it moved forward. He then glanced over at the black and rainbow glowy male. "Don't worry, you're pretty too boyo. You better not pass anything funky though. Who knows with your color scheme?" Wasn't that the truth!

Neither Gummi or Pursia had any idea what Renathan was talking about, or really even cared if he was talking. Pursia was a little more used to him than Gummi was, of course, since she had been owned by him for a very long time. However, Renathan was not exactly one of those very patient individuals that had trained their orbaru. He wanted to train some of them actually in the future, at least Lazare, but for now, he was one of the many that did not feel comfortable working with them as they were. Renathan quietened down again and instead waited in line as normally as possible. He didn't have all day to be in line, but maybe it wouldn't be as long as he thought it was going to be. Say, was the regular individual here working at the desk? That individual seemed so overworked and tired all the time and took a little bit longer by this time of day, it was probably close to her time off in all honesty, so Renathan wasn't bothered by it at all. Still, he wanted to get these guys out and playing in a room as soon as possible, they were being miserable leaping around in the crates and such.
