Current Quest
*Equipment currently in Possession* While he had taken a break last month from taking up another quest from the Center in order to recoup some from his adventure in the mines, he started to feel curious on what this month might be like. Taking Dysis with him, he lets her rest comfortable on his right shoulder as he makes his way inside the building, the murmuring of people talking fills the whole building. He isn’t certain what it is about. Archmage? The word gives him a feeling like he might have forgotten something but he couldn’t say what that might be. Gentle he strokes Dysis back just before her wings are formed when she lets out a soft trill as he feels her move her head this way and that to look at what is going on, he hadn’t taken her with him last time to this building before. The noise she makes is soft enough to not disturb any of the people walking around him as he makes his way towards the board, curiously enough a short male is pinning down a piece of paper on the board and upon noticing him as he comes closer, starts to look sheepish for some odd reason. “Um uh, you must be one of the questers? I guess I am in luck, this is a very important matter. I uh, I really need someone that can come to the Archmage's Tower, you know, on the sly? And uh, I really need you to kill a BIG, BIG mutant creature in the dungeon. PLEASE, Please, Please I am begging you to help!” The man looked like he is shivering, but if it is from fright, or the slight chill inside the building he couldn’t say for certain. He blinks in surprise at the request when he goes over the man’s words. A big mutant creature? How did that even come to be? “Trii?” “I don't need the Lady Archmage to find out!” He strokes Dysis head calmly in order to keep her quiet, her antennae tickling his chin slightly as she turns her head more towards his face in contentment. “I do plan upon taking a quest yes,” He muses, and eyes the board. Next to the newly pinned one, two other requests where on it as well. “but I am not sure if yours is the one I would be interested in taking.” He finishes as he turns himself to the board, eyeing the other requests with interest. “Please help, uhm, those other ones they’ll uh,” The man in question eyes him in panic as he flaps his hands around. “they’ll pale in comparison with the need that it must be done, and, and…” He raises an eyebrow at that comment, raising his arm to tap with one finger at one particular request pointedly. “I very much doubt that, this one here for example.” He coughs for a moment to clear his voice and says in a bored tone. “Please help! Five Pink C.O.D. adults are on the loose, they broke out from their cages on my farm. I haven’t had the chance to tame them yet, need someone to track them down and capture them alive before they hurt anyone. Escaped at -well, you get the general gist of that one. That one certainly seems like a risky one to leave alone considering what they are capable of.” Lowering his arm, he turns his attention completely to the guy as he seems to look at him in dismay? “Though, I suppose I can help you out fir-“ “You Will?! Oh! Thank you so much! You do-” He hears the man babble as his arm gets grabbed, he shivers and pulls away from the unexpectant touch. “However!” He interrupts harshly as he rips his arm free from the guy’s grip with a grimace when the man didn’t get the hint. Normally he wouldn’t have too much of a problem with it, but there is just something about this man that he doesn’t like, and by the fluttering of Dysis wings he feels slightly at the back of his neck gives him the feeling Dysis has similar thoughts with it. “I need the full Information on its capabilities in order to know how to handle it best with which fighters I should take along. And what’s this about an Archmage?” The man’s cheerfulness dims slightly at that as he seems to eye Dysis with just a little doubt. Narrowing his eyes at that, he feels slightly affronted for Dysis sake. Just because she is small doesn’t mean she could be capable of great feats. “Yeah, yeah, that’s something ehh, understandable.” The man claps his hands together, seemingly to keep himself from fidgeting. “All I know is, is that it is too powerful for me to fight physically, and seems capable of some magic? I didn’t stick around long enough yah know? But the lady Archmage can’t find out about this! She might be annoyed enough this happened in her tower to kick me out of the program!” He flaps his arms around again almost automatically before he could restrain himself with visible effort. “As for what she is? Well, I can’t believe you don’t know this already, but an Archmage is someone at the height of magical strength and can do a lot of different magic that can change her surroundings, the way her foes think or even bend them to her will had she been so inclined. Uhm, but that’s just in battle, outside of it, she’s doing a lot of projects with her magic to help the people and invent new magic spells people could use, supervising students who show up with magic but need to learn more. Uhm, she is quite an important person!” The man grins again, but in a nervous way. He still didn’t get it though. Magic is able to do those kinds of things? This lady Archmage doesn’t sound like a creature, he’s only heard them being able to do that before. Still, if people are able to do magic, and with that magic it might be possible to not just change the surroundings, but more the caster themselves when they want.. “Are all kinds of people capable of using magic? And how?” He says, his tone of voice giving away how curious he is about this. “Well, ehh, basically people can just swallow a small orb that has some magical strength in it, and align themselves to that element of the node be able to use magic without ever losing it, or keep the node close at hand and use whatever element you have at hand to do spells with. Look, these things are uhm, basically written down in a book you can find in the book stores, it should be easy to find as their, ehh, really popular lately.” The guy exclaims, starting to look both nervous as he looks around at the crowd, and uncertain as he starts taking the quest off the board. “So since your ehh in, I’ll give you the location on this piece of paper, and uhm, since you said you need to prepare for this, I’ll err see you tomorrow, nine o’clock, don’t be late!” The man had grabbed from his pocket another piece of paper, handing it to him before leaving quickly. Not even giving him the chance to say something back. “Chrrree...” He hums back in agreement to Dysis as she sounds almost exaggerated at that guy, her antennae twitch slightly from what he can tell when one of them touched his throat, but she doesn’t do it on purpose. Still though. Looking down at his hand he unfolds the piece of paper, the location written on it sounds easy enough to find. He’ll just have to come with those best suited for the task of killing this mutated beast. ‘ Right then, best to go and hit the books in order to see which is more battle ready for this challenge I suppose. He didn’t even tell that much about magic from what I can tell.’ Sighing at that fact he leaves the building, ready to head to the kennel and figure out which would be best to take along. The next morning, he almost came too late on the man’s demanded time, figuring out which beasts would be perfect to have them partner up in the fight isn’t exactly easy when he still doesn’t quite know if they might clash against each other. Luckily though, with his choice settled on Envix, a Shadow Lurker who is intelligent enough not to sink into her instincts too much when things get rough. It likely won’t be too much of a problem with Seraiah who is all about physical prowess. And for some further experience for Dysis, he took her along as well. He doesn’t think she would need to do anything when he might have the perfect combination already at hand, but if she wants to lend a hand, he certainly wouldn’t mind it.
‘I’m only coming along to see what this is about.’ He hears Envix say in his mind as she slinks past him, her haunting voice holding the notes of curiosity in it as she grumbles the words out to him. While Seraiah walks behind him at a sedate pace, sometimes stopping to look at something in the distance before being encouraged with treats to continue further. Seraiah luckily doesn’t seem to care too much about the things he encounters that makes him curious enough to stop and stare, as he more or less just needs to wave a couple treats in front of his nose to get him moving again. He is glad though, when he finally sees the tower and the man from yesterday fidgeting with his clothes as he waits at a rather impressive looking door, all dark wood that hints more to black then the brown it should have been for the more natural look, and decorated with gold leaves. He wonders if that tower has always been there, the black stones of it give a feeling of foreboding to them somehow. “Ahh! You’re here! Finally!” The man claps his hands together only once, and he felt in that moment he should take a step back instead of forwards as the large door opens itself outwardly, and didn’t show anyone behind it that might have pushed them open. “Ok, just take the stairs down to the dungeons, it is just past the long hallway and taking the door to the left at the very end. You can’t miss it, and just uhh ignore the stairs leading up at the end of the hallway. Best not to go there or the lady might sense what type of err mess I made. I’ll uh, stay here and uhm clean up as best as I can after whatever mess that fight might give you and your err two companions when you get ehh back in one piece I hope.”
He isn’t certain if he even had wanted to bring him down below in the dungeons when the man seems to shrink and move aside at the sight of Seraiah coming closer and growling lightly at him. He raised an eyebrow at that, looking unimpressed at the man for being scared of Seraiah and for having missed Envix going past him, and through the door. Granted she might be more of a flat shadow moving on the ground instead of raised up right now, but that the guy didn’t even notice it means his observation skills need quite a bit of work.
“It’s three companions that are with me, not two.” He grouses back, deciding to just head inside the well-lit room with multiple chandeliers suspended on the ceiling, each about three meters apart from each other he guesses, and leave that man behind to his appointed task, he’s not certain if the man is just clueless about his surroundings or more of an imbecile for both the first part, and not being able to use his magic to subdue the mutated creature considering what he read magic would be capable of. At least he is glad with the tip he got yesterday about the magic book from him. It’s quite surprising that it is actually in his study room when he tried to see if he might actually have one, he’d really need to check up on the Bookshelves more often as he definitely had overlooked that book it seems. ‘Food?’ He hears Dysis say as she tries to crawl on his arms in order to get a bit closer to the pocket he holds the meat treats.
Stopping her movement by placing his hand in front of her face, he gentle forces her to crawl back on to his shoulder again. ‘You’ll get some Dysis, don’t worry.’ He says back in his mind to her, giving her a treat when she is right back where he wants her to go and hears her nibble softly on it. Turning his head he watches Seraiah enter the tower as well, sniffing subtle at the environment but not coming closer to any particular decoration that is placed in the hallway, or the doors leading to different rooms. All of them would have looked the same if not for the slightly different decoration adorning the door handles “Seraiah? You coming?” He asks, getting the attention of the large creature as it comes closer to him as they walk further into the hall. Envix already raised up her body once more and is moving in front of them, leading the way to the stairs. ‘I wonder if they make a fortune with this job somehow, all these pieces of paintings or other decorations look like they hint at it.’ He comments to Envix as he sees she stopped for a moment to look at a painting depicting a rather nice portrait of a women dressed in finery and holding a soft expression on the face, the smile softening the look on the face while having styled the hair in a severe bun she has her hair in and would have made her look more fearsome if she hadn’t done so.
The whole hallway they have been in so far is decorated in warm colors that contrast nicely with the darker wood of the floor. He hadn’t seen any carpets yet, but then again, why would a hallway even need it? ‘Perhaps they might be.’ She says back to him, starting to move once more to the aforementioned stairs. He shrugs lightly at that, getting a small chirp from Dysis for the movement as she clings on his shoulder, her antennae moving lightly against his chin, tickling him just the slightest. Raising a hand, he pets her behind the wings for a moment as he follows after Envix, and keeps his other hand occupied with getting out a treat from his pocket and handing it to Seraiah when he comes closer to their side instead of behind them.
It didn’t take all that long to arrive at the aforementioned stairs leading to the higher floors of the tower, and sees that there is a door at the right side too, the man likely mentioned the left side so that they wouldn’t go in any other room unnecessarily. “Right then, lets hope we are prepared enough for this.” He comments as he opens the left door, pulling it towards him. ‘Its certainly dark here.’ He hears Envix say as she moves downwards, and he is definitely in agreement with her on that. The stairs look old yet still well cared for as he didn’t see a layer of dust, but they could have just magicked away the dust instead of doing it by hand he guesses as he looks around. Looking inside and staring at the walls, he feels relieved that at least there are light switches here when he spots one, and turns them on.
The lights take a moment to all blink on, but when they do he can see the stairs now so clearly, hopefully he hadn’t just announced to the mutated creature that someone is coming down the stairs..

Where could the creature be? Was it at the bottom of the stairs, or had it been alerted by the lights? Who knew what sort of foul thing had been cooked up and now roamed about...

He waits tensely for a moment, ears straining for any sound that might have been out of place, but when a minute passes and he still doesn’t hear anything he starts to relax slightly. ‘Envix? Is it at the bottom of the stairs, this creature?’ He asks belatedly, remembering that Envix actually had went ahead of them all. Possibly the best kind of a solution as shadows are hardly strange to see, she’d just need to find a good cover to sink into in order to hide, that’s all. Although.. Maybe he should have waited with turning on the light till Envix had given the all clear? He would have groaned at his own act of idiocy for not thinking that far ahead, but he didn’t want to alert the creature should it be sharp of hearing, what’s done is done and he can only wait tensely for her report. ‘No it isn’t, I don’t think it even came this way when that human fled from this room.’ She answers him finally, the tone of voice sounds thoughtful.
Perhaps she is still examining the room? Getting curious now he looks behind himself to see that Seraiah has wandered slightly farther away from the door he was at, looking with interest at the chandeliers, the pieces of glass or perhaps diamonds shining brilliantly from it. “Seraiah.” He says softly as he comes closer to the beast, more of a whisper then anything else, making sure Seraiah knows he is coming closer and slowly taking his clawed paw carefully, pulling him towards the stairs that wind down. It will probably be best to lead him down the stairs this way as he isn’t certain if Seraiah would have followed them down if given the chance. “Your doing good as well Dysis.” He murmurs softly to the small Vespa on his shoulder, she has been staying quiet for a while now, perhaps sensing the need for that to be done, instead of making a trilling sound to likely keep herself entertained. The slight movement on his shoulder as Dysis comes closer to his neck is all she does in response. ‘Are you? Are you rubbing yourself against me?’He couldn’t help but say to Dysis as he feels her head move slightly sideways and back, now and then up and down against his chin as he leads Seraiah by hand down the stairs.
It felt. It felt kind of nice? Though he isn’t sure why. His lips twitched upwards just slightly before he pursed his lips together and formed a more neutral mask as he reaches the last step with them both. Envix was clearly waiting on them as she is looking in their direction, the shadows that form her body twitching slightly in agitation. ‘What is it?’ He asks when he sees that, letting go of Seraiah’s paw when he has taken his last step down the stairs as well. Ears twitching slightly as he growls, eyeing the rather expensive room suspiciously as he sniffs. The only difference to this room seems to be that the floor is made of dark marble, and the paintings depicting nature a lot more then any people of renown in certain circles on it. Though, some of the furniture such as a high-end table seems to be overturned out of haste perhaps? A vase in black with gold motifs lies shattered near it. Looking further he can see that the door of this room (looking almost exactly as the ones upstairs but more reinforced somehow?) is slightly open, making him feel nervous with just standing here doing nothing. ‘That man never closed the doorway to make sure it never would have escaped, I can’t sense if the being came this way, but..’ She didn’t finish, nor did she needed to, he could clearly hear through her haunting voice she is both flabbergasted at this, and angry. He nods at her, understanding what she is getting at. With that man’s carelessness it might be just as likely that the being could have gone up the stairs. Although..

‘With how that man was talking, they made it out to be something huge while the stairs are more designed for humans or other Races to walk up or down from. Lets assume it is still down on this floor somewhere.’ He suggests, feeling strange that he is getting so talk active with Envix of all beings considering what she had done in the past against him, still.. This thing that they are doing? It is in a way a something to build up their trust in each other again, him more so then her as he still remembers the feeling of helplessness she made him feel when she pranked him. Something that still makes him feel agitated at the memory of it.
Seeing as this room is still relatively peaceful to be in, he slowly takes off the straps of his backpack, making sure to do it slowly enough that Dysis is able to easily cling on to his trench-coat without much trouble instead of both that and the straps on his shoulder. Laying it on the ground he opens the zipper to look through the contents, he is certain he packed something that will be helpful in detecting the beings presence. ‘Found it!’ He couldn’t help but think after rummaging through the contents. Taking out a life radar from it, and turns it on. It crackles slightly in sound as it hasn’t seen much use, but when it finally started to show something on its first soft ping the radar shows two life signals in the middle. He frowned slightly at that, but the tickling of Dysis antennae made him realize why that could be, Dysis is on his shoulder so they only show up as one dot, while Seraiah could be considered the other, and Envix.. Envix isn’t seen by the radar as alive since she doesn’t have a physical body. He eyes Envix for only a moment at that, she really is more of a shadow spirit then something alive as he sees her stretch her wings out as far as she can in a way a living creature wouldn’t have been able to do. With that confusion over only seeing two dots on the screen. He looks further at the dials, switching things around as it is now set on detecting things being only one feet in diameter bigger then them. He is quick to set it on six diameter since the beast is said to be huge and he hasn’t seen it at the one diameter yet either. Then allowed the radar to ping again.
Nothing showed up. He sighed, well, it figures this cant be easy, and looking at the room, it is rather spacious too. The tower is likely bigger underground then above it. Setting the life radar on the ground for a moment, he grabs out of the bag a laser mouse, if nothing else he might be able to help in distracting that beast somehow with it. The scalpel he picked out from the bag is quick to be pocketed in his trench-coat as well for protection. Letting it rest right next to the laser mouse for now. And finally he takes out Galuchin a rather fancy scouter in just the size of a tennis ball, that was custom made for adventuring into dark places. He never had a reason to use it before, but now it might be of some use perhaps. He lays the scouter on the ground for the moment, its fans pointed pointing in the air. Zipping the bag closed he is just as careful with getting the straps on his shoulder again, making sure Dysis doesn’t get her feet crushed under it. “Good girl.” He mutters when that is done and she is settled again, giving her a meat treat that makes her trill softly in thanks, and gives one to Seraiah as well for waiting so long on him. The pink beast grabs it easily out of his hand, being quick about it with stuffing his mouth with it and crunching on the meat. ‘Envix do you wish to scout ahead or stay close to the group?’ He says inside his mind to her, looking at the life radar as he tries once more to see if it can capture the mutated creature’s signal. So far no luck in that unfortunately.

Then turns his attention in Envix’s direction he sees her sinking into the ground, becoming just a flat shadow that is in her usual shape should she stand upright for now, but her eyes dim in its green glow until finally he couldn’t even see them at all. ‘I’ll go ahead, the rooms past this have the lights still turned off.’ She slinks out of the room at a fast pace, hopefully the beast will never notice her coming at all he hopes. It will certainly now be so much harder to spot her when she is in the domain best suited for her kind. Slowly standing up he looks at Galuchin, focusing in his mind on the link he knows is there to control it. Closing his eyes for extra focus when he couldn’t tell where exactly the connection is, he starts to focus mentally first on the ribbons connected to the other beings he owns, and feels their connection for a moment, not doing anything except feel for the ever-present connection before moving on.
In his mind’s eye he sees each ribbon there with a different color and feel to the creature it is connected to. After perhaps a minute or two he finds it in his mind, that subtle connection almost like the threads in his mind that represent the ribbons, only this glows blue. A soft blue that lures him closer in his mind towards it, making him see it is not just one thing that glows but that it is separated into six round shapes forming a circle, and coming closer he notices that each shape is separated into four glows. These must be the representation of the eyes in order to see through it. Focusing on it as a whole for a moment, he wills it to be turned on. Smirking just a bit as he ‘feels’ it in his mind rise up from the ground and like a flower opening its petals, so too does the scouter when it opens its fans, spinning slowly to the left. Now that it is active he looks through the eyes and sees the room in a kaleidoscope pattern that feels rather unsettling when seeing everything from so many pairs of eyes at the same time, it is confusing enough that he decides to quickly deactivate the sight by taking a mental step back and focusing only on the glow, dimming it to be only useful enough to know your not walking into any objects. He imagines his hands are covering it just enough to be like that without completely snuffing out the light. Holding the mental image firmly into his mind, he slowly opens his eyes while staying focused and smiles.
In the air he sees the hovering scouter spinning its fans, the glow appearing like a screen is in front of it. He can tell just by looking at it that the device will work perfectly for this quest. Focusing on it mentally he slowly walks closer to the door. “Seraiah?” He says softly, beckoning the beast to follow him as he opens the door wider for them, the scouter he wills to be going in the hallway. Its light just enough to see that the path is free of objects that might get in the way when they walk. It looks less fancy in a way somehow. A lower quality perhaps? There might be a few decorations here, but its mostly vases with a simpler flower patterns and colors on high-end tables. A few closets are here as well, but it contains keyholes in it? Whatever is in it, the mages of this place certainly don’t want someone to just snoop around in it if they weren’t cleared for it in the first place. “Chrrii?” Dysis trills suddenly at him, startling him enough that the device deactivates as he looses focus on the image, plunging the room into darkness. The growling of Seraiah is what he next hears, but it is luckily not as loud as Dysis did just now.
‘Dysis, no!’ He snaps for a moment, regretting it just the littlest bit as he feels Dysis shiver on his shoulder. Sighing he brings his hand closer to her, scratching her under the chin as a way to get her to relax again. “Seraiah, its alright.” He says softly to the beast as he had been growling for a bit, and focuses once more on the scouter’s presence in his mind. Slowly starting the same progress until it activates once more and brings a dim glow in the hallway after a minute or two. Looking at Seraiah he can see that the beast is slightly annoyed at him, likely from being plunged into darkness all of a sudden. Better rectify his mood before it could affect him in combat. He thought rather quickly, and with the hand not holding the life radar he picks out of his pocket three meat treats. Giving them to him. Seraiah happily snatched the treats up, crunching on it with a certain delight only predators could get from it. He’s certain that is what Seraiah is despites appearing more as a herbivore. Giving a small treat to Dysis as well, he moves further, constantly checking the radar by willing the scouter to hover on the opposite side of his shoulder where Dysis is not. No new dot yet it seems. Nor any sight of Envix either come to think of it. He looks carefully around, but without her eyes actually glowing green he isn’t able to see if she is still ahead of them, or actually at their side.
He’ll just have to trust her to stay safe. Walking further he starts to notice that with each door that they pass it starts to look just the slightest not as well cared for. Making it really start to feel like this would be the dungeons once it starts to turn all gray at each side, the doors more like heavy slabs of wood with locks on them. And more furniture is seen at the sides of the hallway, but claw marks od something large indicates that the beast was here. It makes him tense the further they go in the hallway, but he presses on. He has both Dysis and Seraiah near him, everything should be fine. This quest might be easier than trying to capture some man-eating chickens alive after all. Still, even with the walls becoming gray and small layers of dust appearing. There are still closets with locks on them What exactly are they even hiding? And why did they make the hallways so long? It almost seems like it never ends! ‘I found the beast!’ He hears Envix say in his mind, almost making him loose focus once more on the scouter before willing it to be in the exact mode it has been in previously. Looking at the life radar he still doesn’t see the dot that might indicates the presence of this beast, but as its reach is only twenty yards, its not so surprising either. ‘Where?’ He says in his mind to her, struggling a bit to get just that word out when he also needs to keep focusing mentally on the scouter.
He knows in time it will get easier to multi task the mental connections between the two different sources, but for now. This is the best he can do. ‘Just keep walking straight ahead! There is a large hole on the right side. The door is ripped to shreds you cant miss it!’ Her haunting tones in that moment sounded almost on the side of cheerful and excited. Nibbling on his lower lip he turns his head to look at the scouter and then at Seraiah. ‘Do.. You. Think. That it is. Possible to pin it down before we get there? Light might. Give us. Away.’ He says slowly in his mind towards her. ‘It sleeps for the moment, you should be fine. But I can do that if I have too. Just don’t know for how long.’ He mulls on that, it likely would be better that the actual fight starts when everyone is there. Letting Envix do all the heavy lifting is risky should whatever the beast is be mentally stronger then her. ‘Wait.. for.. us. Better all. Together.’ He decides on. He hasn’t asked what the mutated creature looks like, it would cost too much of his focus to listen at constant chatter inside his head. For what feels like eight minutes later a ping on the life radar shows its first signal.
Carefully pocketing the radar, he takes out two treats. Feeding one to Dysis and one to Seraiah. The pink bunny has his ears moving in the direction they are going, eyes bright as he chews on the treat. His claws curling and uncurling. Seraiah might be sensing whatever it is that they are after but he isn’t leaving his side yet to investigate on his own what might be ahead of them luckily. ‘We.. are. Close.. now.’ He says carefully as he tries to walk as softly as possible in order to not alert the beast. The closer they come, the more he starts to see the damage this beast had inflicted at the dungeons. Furniture shredded to pieces, vases broken into a large and small pieces. He is able to avoid most of those pieces, but Seraiah isn’t so luckily, they crunch under his feet. Making him tense each time Seraiah does that as he starts to hear soft snoring coming from the hole..

Perhaps the creature was there, hidden in it's little lair after such a big hissy fit... Would sneaking up on it help; or make things worse?

When he is as close to the hole as he dares currently, not allowing the light to reach the hole by willing it farther behind him for the moment then closing the connection carefully with the scouter while taking ahold of Seraiah’s paw for the moment, he growled very lightly as the light went out, but compared to the snoring it might as well be hardly noticeable. He then focuses on his connection to Envix’s ribbon. ‘Envix, we are here. Any chance you can tell me what it looks like? Even if just a basic description?’ He asks while listening to the snoring, feeling reassured that with it still going strong the beast is asleep. The shivering of Dysis wings against his neck are ignored by him, he just hopes she won’t be making a sound right now while they are still strategizing and waking the beast up. ‘It looks like one of those dragons you keep, four paws and wings on its back, long tail.. This being.. Its much larger than them. Its.. Odd. Something is off. The hide is strange. Twisted.’ She comments thoughtfully, he wonders what might make her think that aside from height the hide would seem so off she notices that enough to comment about it. ‘Alright then, on my signal pin the beast down with Shadow Strike. When I saw go! The fight will start.’ He says.
Hopefully he will be able to relay battle comments quickly enough while controlling the light of his scouter, but if there is a change there might still be a light switch in the room, and the lamps haven’t been destroyed, he’d try hat instead. Still, with a sinking feeling when looking at the hole, it likely has destroyed the light switch already. The hole is too large to have left the switch intact, since it is common practice to have those be placed close to doorways. Rubbing his thumb in a soothing pattern against Seraiah’s paw as he starts to shuffle in impatience.

He focuses on his connection to the scouter, finding the feeling of the scouter’s presence more easily this time in his mind, and wills it to activate, allowing it to hover right next to his shoulder but far enough that it wont impede his movements and far enough from Dysis’s position that it won’t cause her trouble either. The snoring still continues luckily, so he gentle pulls Seraiah along with him to the hole, as his companion starts to become tense the closer they come to it. Squinting a little as he tries to see where exactly the beast is, two small green glows spaced close together somewhere far on the right makes him think he is seeing Envix actually, the glow dimming and becoming brighter as if she says without relaying the words to his mind ‘yes I am here, now what?’. He isn’t certain if that might be exactly what she is thinking, but he likes to think it is. Nodding slightly in her direction, he strains his ears to hear where exactly the snoring is coming from, willing the scouter to turn just that bit brighter and move into the room. “Trriii!” He hears Dysis say both cheerfully and with a hint of interest against his ear as she seems to have noticed the beast now, the pitch of tone is louder than the snoring of the beast. Something he can tell instantly with dread. “Snrgff?” ‘Shit.’ Almost automatically he let go of just how bright the scouter could become, only focusing on having it stay high up in the air and out of reach.

The flash of light made them all squint as it became on its brightest setting. ‘Envix go!’ He says with urgency in his mind towards her, shading his eyes as he lets go of Seraiah’s paw. “Seraiah use bound.” He says when he sees Seraiah running at the beast the moment he lets go. He thinks it’s a brown Sarane Drake he is actually seeing as it does seem to carry that color but just differently while the hide seems to be melted at parts, or torn off to reveal newer scales of likely a harder quality, and at times it seems like the scales shine white in slash patterns almost too fast to follow while its eyes seem to glow a poisonous yellow, glowing so brightly that one will always be able to notice them first. Though from the quick glance he is taking he notices almost immediately that the wings are torn in places, holes left behind large enough that using them in any form might be difficult, but he can’t say so for certain.
The Drake dodges Envix attempt to grasp at his shadow somehow, even with the room being only about two times its size in length. Its attention on as he darts left and right. A snort of contempt on the Drake’s face even as it is starting to squint lessens shows exactly what he is thinking of that attempt and charges at Seraiah. With surprisingly fast speed he tries to rams into Seraiah, its only at the last moment that Seraiah dodges the attack, growling loudly in return at the sneering Drake for almost getting hit. “Envix use menace! Seraiah come closer to Envix and use Rend when its possible to get a good hit in!” He says in a tone that could not yet be called shouting but comes pretty close to it as he tries not to get noticed by the Drake, ducking in the hallway at times when it seems to look in his direction, the trilling noise that Dysis makes on his shoulder not helping with remaining inconspicuous at all. “Shut up Dysis!” He snaps at her for a moment, bringing his hand close to her mouth in order to press two fingers against hers in the hope it will make her silent as he focuses on the fight.
The Drake tries this time to lunge at Envix with its teeth when it notices her, but she dodges the attack easily her eyes narrowed on the beast after that. Seraiah instead of waiting on Envix to go first like he hoped Seraiah would have done, aims his claws at the beast, and as if sensing the attacking, dodges at the last moment by jumping backwards for a moment, then looked in both Seraiah’s and Envix’s direction. Freezing in place for just a moment as it sees Envix gain height, stretching herself out and flaring her wings to appear even bigger. “Seraiah here’s your opportunity! Use rend again! Envix try to pin it in place! Use Shadow Strike!” He encourages them, and with what passes as relieve to him, he sees Seraiah getting the first hit in. His claws tearing into his hind-quarters and leaving bloody gashes behind that are dripping blood all over the floor, the Drake likely from the pain bellowed out a roar, freezing all of them in place at the suddenly loud noise that reverberates throughout the room and to the hall from which it echo’s even further back in both directions.
He isn’t certain what exactly the beast did after that, but with a huff the Drake puffs out of his mouth a heavy gust of wind that is blown into Envix’s direction. Which to his astonishment twirls Envix around like she isn’t an ethereal being at all! He isn’t certain how many times she spins, but he could tell just by looking at her it made her dizzy when it finally ended. “Seraiah! Try to use rend again!” He calls out, his fingers still pressed against Dysis as she is still making some noise out of excitement, her wings fluttering and hitting the back of his neck lightly. “Envix! You alright there? Try to use Shadow Strike!” He says to her as he ignores Dysis excitement with it all, hoping she understands his words without saying them mentally as he is still needing to focus in keeping the scouter in the air without breaking the connection. But he can see it is hard for her to focus on what is going on around her.
Seraiah tries to land another hit in with his claws at the same moment that the Drake finishes twirling Envix around, but misses the attack by a feet as the creature leaps to the side and snaps with his teeth against Seraiah’s shoulder, tearing right into him, and a scream of pain escapes Seraiah’s mouth when that happens before he is getting roughly dropped to the ground as Seraiah lets out a whine, blood gushing out of his shoulder. And as for Envix.. he glances quickly in her direction hoping she is alright and would try once more to pin the creature down, if they just succeed in it, they could still win this! But, looking at her he sees something he hadn’t thought possible, are the shadows of her form attacking herself? He winces when he sees that happening. Her confusion still apparent in her body language on what is going on.
The Drake seeing some sort of opportunity in this, growls, but doesn’t attack yet, no, instead it only grows bigger! ‘What the?!’ “Seraiah use lick wounds! Envix, try to use Shadow Strike once more!” The beast became so large it had to duck its head when it started to touch the ceiling! He can only hope it will slow the creature down as it seems to be too big now to be capable of dodging so easily like it did the first couple of times. Seeing Seraiah is busy treating his wound and out of the count for just a bit as he licks his wounds, shuffling backwards and away from the Drake’s body, he looks at Envix and sees her movements are still erratic in her confusion, but with a shake of her head she almost seems to leap at the Drake’s shadows! Tearing her claws right into the Drake much to his relieve while it bellows out a sound of pain when before it might have been more a grunt with Seraiah that ended into a roar.
As the Drake tries to lift its front paw to swipe at her form a moment too late, freezing into place. “Keep using Shadow Strike Envix! Seraiah, lick wounds!” He shouts at them, he’d rather not risk Seraiah in the moment while everything might be safe now, better to heal the wounds for just a bit longer even if those gashes made from the Drake’s teeth can’t be completely fixed right now. Focusing on Envix he sees she is still struggling with keeping her focus, and almost wavers, her shadows becoming irregular for less then a split second before she grasps at the shadows once more, tearing right into it somehow, holding the beast in place just as it is able to finish the strike it wanted to do. The Drakes whole clawed paw going right through Envix just as she freezes it in place once more while Seraiah is still tending to his wound, his eyes never straying far from the Drake’s form. Envix stares the large Drake down, and somehow, he gets just a flash of amusement, yet it feels foreign. This isn’t a situation he could be amused about, not with one of his fighter’s this injured. “Seraiah you up for another rend?” He asks, wondering if Seraiah would still be willing to fight but as he starts to stand up, he feels that Seraiah might give it a go anyway, even when he is still injured.
Focusing on Envix he sees her looking in his direction, eyes narrowed while the Drake’s form looms over her much smaller one. “Envix keep using Shadow Strike!” He shouts again. They are so close now! He can feel it in his bones. Letting his hand drop away from Dysis mouth as it likely won’t get the Drake’s attention now that it got bigger fish to fry, he hears her trilling. ‘Food! Food!’ He can only blink in surprise, perhaps with a bit of consternation mixed in it when he hears her exclaim those words through their link. Because.. Really?
Shaking his head, he focuses instead on how Seraiah with delight starts rending on the side of the Drake’s belly gaining a low groan of pain from the Drake while its body remains frozen. And when he looks into Envix direction he can see any confusion she experienced in that whirlwind is gone now, her eyes completely focused on the shadows of her foe, her clawed hands rending the Drake in a way that doesn’t leave physical marks, but still does something to wound it. Perhaps she strikes the soul directly with it? Or its essence? He doesn’t know how, but the end result remains the same. A choked off scream is the only thing the Drake lets out before collapsing as Envix lets go of its shadow, it breaths shallowly only once, twice as its tongue lolls out, then stops.

Seraiah didn’t seem to care that it is collapsed now, instead the Pink Bunny is still tearing into the now likely dead Drake (whose flashes of white on the hide are slowly disappearing) and the alarmingly large pool of blood that is gushing out and covering the floor. He isn’t certain if he should come closer yet, but at Envix’s rather calm appearance, he slowly enters the room. Eyes watching the Drake’s form. ‘Food!’ He hears Dysis chirp in his mind just as she lets out a trill, and flutters her wings fast enough to start flying off his shoulder and onto the Drake at the hind-quarters, tearing small pieces of meat from the wound and chewing on it. ‘Did you really think it was a good idea to bring that insect along?’ He hears Envix say with a note of curiosity in the tone as she moves to his side, unconcerned with how bloody the floor is getting. ‘For battle experience yes, to show her how things are done.. But, I hadn’t thought I would have needed to teach the little brat the art of silence as well.’
He frowns at seeing her eat the now dead Drake while Seraiah has stopped clawing at the hide and is busy licking his own wounds clean once more. ‘It seems I will have to teach her not to eat her opponent as well should I ever allow her to fight on her own.’ He sighs as he looks at the mess they all made. The floor is cracked with how large that Drake became and stomped on the tiles, while broken pieces of furniture could be seen everywhere. He could recognize a piece of a chair here, maybe a leg from a small table, or what would have looked like metal pipes but makes him think of something that was once a cage in shape, but everything just starting to become covered in blood and just so much wood splinters. He doesn’t know what else could have been stored inside the room before the Drake had rampaged inside the room.

How that man will be able to clean that room on his own would have been a mystery until he had read that book last night. He can only wish him good luck with that. “What a mess..” He says in a idly tone of voice as he moves closer to Dysis, picking her up carefully when he is in teach while she keeps chewing on a piece of meat she was able to detach from the corpse, and places her on his right shoulder. He backs off quickly from the Drake’s body when suddenly it started shrinking! Seraiah lets out a growl, claws at the ready while Envix tilts her head sideways for a moment in curiosity before looking back at him, unconcerned when the corpse was finished shrinking. ‘It seems whatever that Drake used to enlarge itself has worn off now. Are we going now?’ She says slightly impatient. He nods at that, looking only once at the Drake to be certain it is still dead before looking at his scouter, glad that he brought it along even if he still needs to train himself in controlling it better, yet he remembers suddenly. He did just now talk to Envix without even thinking mentally how he needs to keep both links balanced, so perhaps he is already starting to get the hang of it? He wills the scouter to come at his side again, imagining that he is slightly cupping it into his hands in order to have the lights become dim enough that they won’t hurt their eyes when looking directly at it, it almost feels easy now, but he doesn’t dare and try to see what would happen should he try looking through the eyes of the device. That will just be a whole other level of difficulty.
“Seraiah, thanks for having fought so well.” He praises the Pink bunny as he turns his attention to him, gentle stroking his head and avoiding his shoulder wound. He’ll likely need to get that checked out at the Healer’s Temple, but for now it has stopped bleeding. Seraiah tilts his head slightly to the side as he stares at him in surprise at the sudden touch. He turns his head slightly so that he can see Dysis better and retracting his hand from Seraiah he taps her between the eyes. “As for you.. You’re a brat Dysis.” He sighs, exaggerated when he hears her trill at him, not minding being called out on her behavior one bit, while he secretly enjoys her rather sassy personality.. just a little.. ‘Thanks for helping out Envix.. I.. I don’t think we could have made this work without you.’ He swallows slightly as he looks at Envix, seeing her standing at attention and watching him in a type of concentration he has rarely seen her do. ‘You’ve earned some of my trust back again.’ He says, still remembering what she did to loose his trust in her, but he is willing to try again.
Without her help, Seraiah, Dysis and himself would have been likely dead already before they could have landed a scratch on that mutated Drake. And Envix did her best in everything she was able to do. ‘I’m glad of that.’ He hears her say as she stares at her right shoulder with narrowed eyes before looking up innocently in his. He isn’t certain what that was about, but with a shrug he says. “Alright everyone! Lets go.” And slowly moves out of the room, making sure Seraiah is following him while Envix is going ahead of them all. Her form just a flat shadow as she moves through the hallways while Dysis is rubbing her head against his neck.
He wonders absentmindedly if the man who wanted this quest done is going to fall in a death faint when he sees them all come out of the tower with blood covering all but one of them, and leaving bloody footprints behind. He has no doubt Dysis is rubbing her bloody mouth against his neck and leaving red streaks behind that for just this moment, he doesn’t mind all that much to be wearing on his skin.
