The moment her fingers slipped loose of the mare's halter, happy enough to have drawn her out in the open to really think all that much about what she was doing -
Mavelle's ear twitched, nostrils flaring before a small squeal escaped her, spooking at something and skipping sideways. Well. What good did leaving the leadrope attached to her to, when you don't do something smart like hold on to it?
It was clear from the slight jaunt in Mavelle's lofty trot away that she didn't really think that she was in danger anymore. But now energized by the bolt of adrenaline, she pranced a wide circle around her owner, ears pricked and tail held high. Apparently now it was fun! The satyr spared herself a glance around the arena for the other contestants, making sure none were too close. She had little to fear from the pure striking out at any of them, considering she was that kind of pure that wouldn't so much as swish her tail at a fly.
The area around them clear, Lethalia playfully lunged at Mavelle, sending the mare squealing and veering away, curly plumed tail flagged high off the ground. Another lunge and the mare went bounding away, and only once was she a reasonable distance away did she break out in a small fit of bucking and lashing out with her hind legs. It might not all be pretty, exactly, but the satyr enjoyed watching creatures at liberty!

Just to make sure nobody thought that she'd brought a feral equillion into the arena, Lethalia put an end to her play with a quick "Woah!" that brought Mav to an easy stop. The small workout seemed to have calmed her nerves a little, or at least burning some energy could do wonders for how jittery she could get. To her credit, the mare was calm enough to approach and mount with little fuss, even if she does have to grab two hanks of mane to haul herself up bareback. Settling in and taking up the reins - luckily she'd tied those up in her mane so they wouldn't fall in the walk over - Lethalia didn't bother trying to get Mavelle to do too many special tricks - she didn't know especially many. Instead, she chose to steer the mare in a quick circuit around the arena to show that the equillion was indeed trained. Not that she was amazingly trained, but the satyr can't help but be a little bit proud, especially how easily Mav responded to her urging from starting off walking, back into her flowing trot, bending to her cues to bend around the arena and break into a few paces of a canter. Satisfied with their simple demonstration, Lethalia called the mare to a halt and waved a little before nudging the mare to take their leave. |Mavelle used Stop, Carry Rider, Bridle Knowledge, Faster/Slower| Mavelle lv|24 ly|53

Fiera was practically vibrating with excitement as her turn in the ring drew near. Lunara was standing close behind her, peering out at the crowd. Fiera grinned. "You'll do fine, dear. MORE than fine, I think." Lunara was gleaming bright and beautiful having been bathed the previous night, followed by a brushing of her peach fuzz fur. Overall she looked amazing, glowing faintly in the lights, reflecting some of it off in gentle motes. To top the whole look off, Fiera had tied a cute little scarf around her neck, a bright dash of red among her gentle yellow tinge. There was no way they could fail now. Just in case Lunara had some stage fright however... Fiera had packed some mochi, carried in a secret pocket on her dress. Finally they were waved forward, and Fiera pranced into the light like a show equillion, laughing, waving, and blowing kisses to the crowd. "Hello, lovelies!" She called out, striking a pose. "I've got a wonderful surprise for you today! Believe me, you haven't seen anything yet!" With that she turned on a dime and waved off the ring. "Lunara! Come here!" Lunara froze, struck by fear... only for Fiera to sneak a glance of the mochi, enough for Lunara to see but not the crowd. Finally, the yumenokei began to move, bounding across the distance between her and Fiera. It was a beautiful sight, as she looked to be running in slow motion, with her ears and tendrils floating behind her. ((Lunara uses Name, Come)) (I'd like the black panda pachee, please!)

Fiera was only excited further by the oohs and ahs from the crowd, and the appreciation seemed to reduce Lunara's anxiety somewhat. Fiera let the yumenokei climb up onto her arm and whispered quietly. "See, was that so hard?" She said. "They love you, and you're doing fine. Let's wrap this up, ok? Big finale!" Then, she turned to the crowd, splaying her arms wide, with Lunara perched on her right arm. "Isn't she glorious, folks! As pretty as the moon at night. Oh, but what's this?" She said in mock surprise, looking at Lunara. "The moon isn't glowing! And it's not even in the sky yet!" She gave the audience and judges a dazzling smile, filled with just a few too many sharp teeth. "We'll have to fix that, won't we!" She laughed.
She lowered her arm. "Ready?" She said to Lunara. Then, she tossed her arm upward, shouting- "Leap!" and so Lunara did, catapulting herself off of Fiera's arm. Using her drifting abilities, she went up, up, five, ten, fifteen, twenty feet, seeming to hang there in the air, just like the moon. "Now, Lunara!" Fiera shouted up at her. "Crescent!" Lunara complied, a soft glowing forming around her, before whipping her legs around in midair- sending out a bright crescent of light above the crowd, dazzling them as it spread out and faded right over their heads. "Ok, now come back!" Fiera called to her as the audience marvelled. "Glide!" Fiera held out her arms and Lunara slipped through the air like it was water, before finally landing in her owners arms. Fiera waved at the crowd as they applauded, and strutted back to the backstage. Bet they hadn't seen anything like that today.
