If she was going to be honest... she was pretty excited to be doing this today. Jag was in her arms, she had been bred before and given some lovely babies, so she couldn't wait to see what was going to happen with this one. She grinned a little as she walked up to the Breeding Center and opened the door, setting Jag on the floor in front of her as she booped along. She hadn't seen him in awhile, they were overdue it seemed, and she wondered what it was going to be like, they really hadn't seen each other for awhile. That was fine! Or at least that's what she kept telling herself, she was starting to wonder if he was mad at her, but that was crazy, wasn't it? She smiled a little as she walked over to register for the two of them, she was actually a little nervous.

Renathan was admittedly exhausted today; having spent most of the morning dealing with Shy Guy (who was becoming rather prissy) and his little tantrums about what he was being fed, and of course actually feeding the other critters as well. He knew that he was going to come in to participate in a breeding with Jack today, but he was so tired and aggravated that he was really wanting to just stay home. However, it needed to be done; this breeding was part of a gift for someone else after all; and it was tantamount. He gets washed up kinda slowly, and then picks Espresso up from his little orbaru house, getting him ready to go. Espresso was a real understated beauty of a male orbaru, but Renathan hadn't bred him before; he wasn't sure if he would have the prettiest babies with any of his females specifically, after all!

Jack settled down in a chair and glanced around a little at the windows to see if Renathan was coming. Jag was a little eager as well, it had been awhile since she had been here, and while she'd had a few kits of her own, and was part of one of the largest litters of these 'version three' Orbaru, she always looked forward to meeting new people and Orbaru as well. She knew what she wanted in life, and that was a good thing for her at the moment. She wiggled a little and groomed her fur as she waited in the chair next to the woman for now, waiting for the other two to arrive. Jack chewed on her lip, what if he was mad at her? She had fallen asleep last time they'd seen each other, which was rude, but she had been so tired, she just... didn't know what to expect.

Renathan makes it to the Breeding Center okay, Espresso under his arm. He glances around tiredly; kind of hoping that no one was here and that he'd been early so that he could prepare for this. He was not really ready for any kind of emotional thing, not so quick after the tournament, and really he was feeling sick any time he thought of it. Just the last time he was here he had several panic attacks about it. At least Espresso seemed calm. He could focus on Espresso a bit and try to ignore the panic. Renathan thought he saw her, and made his way to the front, checking in real fast with his orbaru. Then, he goes to sit down near her, head down and embarrassed. He knew the barrage of questions was coming, and he wasn't sure what to say. Espresso, however, booped excitedly; teal eyes glimmering!

She knew how he felt about losing, and as Jag hopped onto her lap and she started to stroke the Orbaru's back, she smiled at Renathan as big as she could when she saw how he looked through the mask. His eyes were... tired. Nope, not going to do it. She reached out to gently touch his shoulder, her smile still genuine, though smaller now, "Hey Renathan, I'll only ask two questions. Are you okay? And how is Shy Guy?" She wouldn't tell him she had been looking forward to their fight ever since Shy Guy had beat one of the other Thundergugs, that would probably just make him feel worse at this point. But that was okay! She wasn't going to do that to him, not after... well... Had she dreamed that? Or had it been real? She really didn't know what to expect from him today, but she felt like she needed to brace herself after she had seen his eyes.

Renathan had been purposefully avoiding going out for a long time, and was even now not exactly ready. He was glad his mask was on, to hide the worst of it, but he sure was quite surly about things. He was expected the questions but he was not at all expecting them to be so calm and kind. He loosened his shoulders a bit, and breathed a bit deeper. His mouth moved, but he didn't say anything at first. Then, mercifully, finally, he was able to speak. "I'm... I'll be okay I think. Shy Guy is... Well, he's Shy Guy?" His voice cracked near the end there, feeling awkward. Being... Emotionally connected to a creature that basically should be "dead" was really hard. That last hit was strong enough that he felt sore, a ghost pain. He still felt sore, even though it didn't make any sense. He wasn't really ready to talk about that part.
Renathan tangled his fingers in Espresso's fur, like he would in Shy Guy's mane, searching for comfort.

"I'm here for you, okay? Whatever you need," she told him honestly, with an earnestness in her eyes as she tried looking in his for a moment. It was hard with the mask, but she knew he had it on for a reason. For one, they weren't alone, and two... she didn't think he would take it off even if they were alone right now. All that had happened in the Pit left him rather vulnerable, she knew that, she could read his body language, and she wasn't sure what to do for him except be there if he needed her. Jag reached out with a single paw as Jack stroked her back and batted for one of the male's paws. She was ready to meet him, if a little impatient, certainly not like Jack was. She smiled down at her a little and patted her on the head, just waiting to see if he needed to talk about anything.

Renathan was quiet for a moment, considering. He hadn't really looked around the room before to see how long they'd need to wait, he hadn't even noticed the other people around him at all; which was something that had made him nervous in the past when there was a large group. He gives a quick glance around the area, looking to see how many folks were here. After a second, he realized that his hand was firmly wrapped in the silky's fur, which wasn't good. He gently pulled his fingers out and petted him, to make sure that the fur wasn't tangled. 'Sorry little guy.' He thought, gently petting Espresso. "Thank you, Jack." He said, tired and earnest twined in his voice. "So, little Jag, how is she?" He asked, not quite ready yet to dig into it. "And uh, how are you doing in the tourney?" He'd stopped going, and the thought of tournaments made him feel icky, but he needed to talk about anything else right now.

Understanding, she nodded, happily joining him in changing the subject if that's what he needed. She knew it had to be rough on him, he had a fear of losing... that had to be hard when confronted with it. She would do what she needed to do for him though, because... Well... Had that been a dream? "Jag's good! Just curious about your little guy," Jack started with a smile as Jag booped again at Espresso. She knew she was getting impatient, and wrapped her arms around her a little more firmly than she had been for a moment, just in case. Honestly she didn't want to deal with her hopping on Renathan right now, she didn't know how that would do for him. "I'm doing well I guess. Kro goes up against the Tat-lung next, and I'm nervous about it. He's quick, so... it should be interesting at least," the woman told him honestly. If he asked, she would answer.

Renathan didn't want to think about his weaknesses much if at all, and this had forced him to not only think about that... But the fear was extreme, way more than any other he'd felt before. Like a need to run and never stop running, or jump out of a window just to get away from it. It was horrifying, to face that loss and be unable to do anything about it at all. Still, he forced himself to smile beneath the mask. Jack was nice to be around, and he'd be fine. He just had to stop dwelling on it. "I was curious about her! She's the sibling to a few of mine, and of course I love how they all came out." Leo made gorgeous babies, in all honesty. "Kro will do fine, he's still my favorite to win." Renathan said, truthfully. He wasn't sure what he'd been expecting now, honestly; if it wasn't one, it was going to be the other. He guessed he just wanted to ace, and if he was going to lose, he'd expected it to be against Kro.

"Oh that's true! She gives good offspring too, I have at least one back in the Kennel," Jack told him with a firm nod. It was hard to keep track of lineage with Orbaru and even Pachee, but it was something that was necessary sometimes she figured. Speaking of... weren't these two half-siblings? Her eye twitched for a moment but then she shook her head, it hadn't hurt Pachee, it wouldn't hurt Orbaru, she knew that much about it at least. Giving a low chuckle, she shook her head again and patted Jag on the head as she reached out for Espresso again, trying to be sneaky and mess with him a little. Even just a little fur would be good for her! "Well thanks, I'm glad someone thinks so at least!" she told him with a little smile on her face. Tournaments always worried her, she really wanted to win, but losing was fine too as long as they learned something, right?

Renathan didn't really mind when it came to orbaru or pachee about inbreeding. This sort of thing happened out in the wild relatively often, maybe not all the time, but it was a thing that did occur. He had thought about these two having shared parentage a bit, but more in passing. "Oh I bet; her spots are really gorgeous." He said, mind temporarily off of the whole pit thing for the most part. "Espresso here is a good boy, I am sure that they will play well." He petted him softly on the head. Maybe he should have named him cinnamon? He was a lot lighter than espresso, to be honest. He did have the same belly color as the female, though; how neat! Maybe one of the babies would be all cocoa-like. He thought it was a nice color combo over all. "Of course, Kro is well trained, and just... Huge. Super big critter right there." A regular chonk, he was.

"We just need to get called back now..." Jack half muttered with a frown on her face as she glanced behind them at the receptionist's desk. She sighed and turned back around with a smile on her face, "Not long now it looks like, and if not, well then it won't be the first breeding to happen in the waiting room I'm sure." Giving a bit of a chuckle, she watched as Jag batted at some of Espresso's fur with one of her paws. Jack couldn't wait to see what the babies were going to look like, and she hoped that things were going to be better off when it was all done, though she didn't know why that would happen at all! "He is huge... maybe I shouldn't have given him that Elixir of Giant Growth," she chuckled a little as she thought about it. Jack leaned back in her chair and then went to gently touch Renathan's shoulder again. It had to have been a dream...

Renathan's mind had been quite spotty during this time period, he honestly hadn't thought much of the fact that they were in the waiting room. Of course, before the breeding center had opened back up again, he'd done a lot of breedings. So long ago the breeding center was super lax, and it would seem that the waiting room was 'sterile' enough for a breeding or two to happen there. He'd had it happen too. He'd been a lot more careful so far out of fear that something may have changed. Now that gave him thought; was he really that sort of person? That looked before they jumped no matter what the cost? Renathan looked over at the two orbaru, back and forth for a moment. Espresso was already waving a little paw at her, not really a 'wave' but more of a 'I want to play now and I'm trying to reach you' kind of way.
