Gegenschein
Welcome to Gegenschein- a world within a world, a land on the inside of the crust of a hollow planet. Sustained by mist that collects and refracts light coming in from the outside surface, from an evil star. Upon this world dwells a variety of fantastical creatures, big and small. Together, they live in relative harmony, building civilizations under the light of their false sun. You are now invited to join this world- to encourage the paths and lineages of the creatures therein. By all means, step into the shoes of a guardian spirit, and take in the creatures you find here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok but what is Gegenschein really?
So glad you asked! Gegenschein is a genetics project that I've been working on with a friend for several years now. In it's complete, final form, it will be a roleplaying site (not entirely dissimilar to MML- I've been on here for over a decade, I'd be a fool to not say it's in my list of inspirations) where people can play as a variety of magical creature species and breed them, allowing them access to theoretically infinite characters. That is still way, WAY in the future however, and for now I just want to play around with the genetics I've come up with for each species. With your help, I'll be able to see how well the system I've come up with works- or...doesn't work, if it comes to that.
Every so often, I'll put up some randomly generated pets for people to adopt. I'm going to limit it to two pets per batch to start with so everyone has the chance to get some. If things change or only a couple people are interested, I'll adjust that number. From there, each pet can be bred twice a week. Again, this is subject to change. From there, each offspring must wait one week before being bred. Other than that though, go nuts! There's a lot of rare mutations and hidden recessive genes that I've written in, and I may well add more- you never know quite what you're going to get!

Adoption CenterThe individuals here are all free for you to adopt! Remember, you can only adopt two from each batch of a species! If there are multiple species up for grabs, you may grab two of each species. If a certain batch still has individuals unclaimed after two weeks of being up, you may adopt two more, and an additional two more if there are still some left two weeks after that, until they are all claimed. To adopt an individual, please fill out the following form: A note on the number code- DO NOT LOSE IT. That is your pet's ID, and without it, I will not be able to find their genetics in my files and as a result, will not be able to breed them, clone them, or do anything with them, really. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Creatures Available:Glacerv Batch 1: ID: #00001, ID: #00002, ID: #00003, ID: #00004, ID: #00005 ID: #00006, ID: #00007, ID: #00008, ID: #00009, ID: #00010 ID: #00011, ID: #00012, ID: #00013, ID: #00014, ID: #00015 ID: #00016, ID: #00017, ID: #00018, ID: #00019, ID: #00020 ID: #00021, ID: #00022, ID: #00023, ID: #00024, ID: #00025 ID: #00026, ID: #00027, ID: #00028, ID: #00029, ID: #00030

Breedings
Have two pets you think would make pretty babies? Breed them! Each pet can breed twice a week, and each baby takes one week to 'grow' before it can be bred. A random number of babies is created per breeding, varying on the species- a small, rodentlike species may produce entire litters, while a large species might have only one or two babies. The only exception to this is if two different people own the parents, in which case there's a guaranteed two babies in that breeding so everyone gets one. Just let me know if this is the case! Also, while I understand that we can't keep perfectly clean lineages, egregrious cases of inbreeding (such as aunt/uncle to niece/nephew, parent to child, sibling to sibling, grandparent to grandchild, etc.) will be rejected.
To breed two pets, please fill out the following form:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Cloning
Have a pet that you wish you...well, had two of? Well, now you can! Each gegenschein creature can have one clone made of it, to help preserve and proliferate rare genes. Each cloned individual is considred separate from the old family line, with no parents or lineage. As a result, the usual inbreeding rules don't apply. To clone a pet, fill out the following form:

Species
There are many races in the world of Gegenschein. Each species has a tendency to mingle with others, and as a result cultural differences are on a country-wide scale as opposed to a species-wide scale. Regardless, each has its own tendencies and preferences for environment and personality. For your benefit, the species of Gegenschein (or at least, the ones we currently know about) are listed below, along with basic information about each.
---------------------------------------------------------
Glacerv
Creatures of water and air, glacerv are well known for their delicate consitution and colorful beauty. Their fins are always flowing, even when not under water, and their scales often display a wide variety of colors and patterns. Males are known for their long horns, fin-beards, and vibrant colors, while females generally have shorter horns, duller colors, and no fin beard, though they do have longer, sharper fangs. Glacerv also have the ability to walk on water as well as swim below it, and can purify contaminated sources of water. Glacervs tend to be artistic and graceful, but socially awkward, having originally come from secluded forests with pure pools of water. Don't let their gentle appearances and delicate personalities fool you however- all glacervs are carnivorous, and feed on a combination of fish and smaller animals that come to their pools for a taste of pure, fresh water.

Gegenschein is now OPEN!
And to celebrate, I'm running a super special opening event! For this first batch only, you are allowed to pick SIX pets, instead of the usual two! This is to ensure that everyone gets a couple of breeding pairs to play around with to start them off. Remember- males have beards and longer horns, females have duller colors and fangs. Hey everyone. I'm going to be shutting this down due to lack of interest. Jack, you're more than welcome to keep yours if you'd like. HxR's creator's corner days are over, I think. XD
