Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is the August 5th. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 3 days to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 3 day deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

This was a common occurrence in tournaments, and she assumed it had something to do with sleeping in. Maybe forgetting. Or sometimes people were just uninterested in battling anymore. She understood that, and so did Sandy. There were times where they would just accept defeat, and other times where they would attack enough to knock the opponent unconscious, but not much more than that. Amelia was not a brutal person, and Sandy wasn't either. She was a calm soul, and together they enjoyed the experience the tournament was bringing them. Win or lose, Sandy was content with just enjoying the day and learning more about herself and her person. There were a lot of tough opponents in the tournament, so Amelia wasn't anticipating a huge victory for them. Sandy had made it clear that she wasn't interested in joining anymore tournaments, so Amelia would have to find another creature to train and enter. The mammalian had been in a rut lately, and the tournament battles were the only things she was leaving the house for. Eventually she was sure she would get out of it, but in the meantime she was focusing on herself. Looks like we're the first ones here again. Let's hoping our opponent shows up. I don't mind the exercise to get here, but it would be nice to try battling some more.
I know, I know. At least we're spending time together. And I'm sure this opponent will show up. It looks like this is a Sarane, and he sounds quite powerful. By the looks of it they've won a Sarane tournament back in the day, so we will have to see if he's still got it. So keep in mind he will be faster than you, but theres a good chance that he won't be as powerful as you. We can use that to our advantage.
I enjoy battling different creatures. Teaches me a lot. And when you train up your next creature you'll have a lot more ideas to train.Amelia rolled her eyes and pressed her forehead against the Thundergug's, who licked the side of her face in response. Unfortunately, she wasn't allowed to stay down here with Sandy, so she made her way up to the stands. Many hours had been spent in these stands, watching battles down in the pit. Sandy stretched out and relaxed in the sand, waiting patiently for her opponent to show up. 21 (Ready)

It was wholly unsurprising Vidarr had needed tending to even after a technical victory last battle. Taking a tank head-on wasn't going to turn out pretty, no matter what the outcome - even if, shockingly, the sarane had remained on his feet long enough to come out ahead. Lethalia was still a bit shocked over it, honestly - the satyr's assumption that the 'gugs would be the one to easily wipe the floor with her drake had been disproven. How... disorienting.
|You feeling okay, after that?| Lethalia finally prompted. It didn't seem right, that he was up and walking with her already - to another fight, no less! The medics worked nothing short of miracles for their bloody sport, and if nothing else, she was glad they would continue to repair the drake who wanted to keep diving right in. If it wasn't for his want to be here, there was quite little reason she would be bothering.
|After what?|
|...I suppose that means I should have nothing to worry about, then.| An even bigger issue with Vidarr would now be a complete lack of fear of beasts bigger than himself, now that he's proven he can fell one. While of course conveniently ignoring the fact that it was a lithe tat-lung that had caused his first loss, of course.
As if the forest drake wasn't stupidly fearless enough already. The only strong feelings she got from him was the floating bit of a high he found in defeating such a monster, and the utter lack of concern when there was another awaiting them in the sands. Lethalia had finally given up on talking sense into the drake, since apparently there wasn't a thing around that could ever teach him fear or humility. Seeing no reason to pick the habit back up now, the satyr left Vidarr with a solid pat on the side as she drifted off to her stand. |Don't do anything stupid until I tell you to.| Better it was a joint effort, anyway.

This 'gug was quite pretty with her deep earthen tones and spots, a pink ribbon to contrast. The smallest moment of stillness just before the fight began - this was the only opportunity she would get to size up their foe.
Vidarr was already puffing himself up, practically swelling with his pride - that had managed to avoid getting damaged in these fights, much to his owner's chagrin. Stature granted by a growth-potion saw that he would be bigger than most other beasts, and being a drake on top of that just seemed to pile the confidence upon him. In spite of brawn and ego being on his side, being able to 'brain' through things wasn't his strongest suit. Enough of a brain to fear another hit from a thundergug would've been nice, about now. A half-formed thought nearly brought her to allow Vidarr to deal with this one on his own, if he was so certain about things. She still couldn't convince herself to let him again, not against another tank - he could go at it on his own if she wanted to witness the drake throw himself facefirst at this one. Not today. |Roar!|
Upside being, the drake in this kind of mood was easier to handle than when he was as excited as he got in his first tournament. It would probably help that it wasn't up against nearly as many drakes, since his reaction to them was (obviously) so much more visceral and savage than it had been against any other enemy thus far. Whether the difference was him growing a little older or the competition, Lethalia would gladly take the break from his most savage feelings being broadcast to her.
A drake doesn't need to be asked twice to get a fight going. Vidarr bounced forward with near-glee, likely much more excited for this than his foe. Learning from past fights? What was that? Wings spread out reflexively as the forest drake's initial raspy screech quickly deepened into his booming roar.

What a lovely looking drake. Amelia liked the look and colours of this one, the earthy tones and the greens were very lovely. He probably had the confidence that a lot of drakes seemed to have, as Amelia knew all too well with some of her creatures. Still, she imagined it could be a difficult fight. Amelia was content to watch the battle play out, and she wondered if her tank of a creature would stand much of a chance. She had taken down drakes in the past, but every Sarane was different and this one may have some troublesome tricks up its sleeves. With injections lately being part of almost every battle creature she wouldn't be shocked if this creature had some sort of unnatural ability. She had considered the same for Sandy, as having a non-physical move would give her more chances at success. But, with the Thundergug being very clear she wasn't interested in going into another tournament, Amelia wasn't quite sure if it was truly the best idea.
So, what're you thinking? This large creature?
Just as Amelia asked her Thundergug this question, something already was happening. It appeared, as usual, they were too slow. The drake let out a great roar, and she could already tell that this battle wasn't starting out in their favour. Sandy pulled her head back and growled angrily, the loud sound bothering her ears.

At least the one thing the drake managed to have learned was that he should prefer getting airborne as soon as he could. Sarane tournaments at the time she'd been playing in them were mostly dealt with from the ground - usually over so fast neither would have time to take to the skies. He just hadn't gotten an appreciation for his element until it became more relevant to avoid beasts like these. It had been happening enough this tournament that he was finally beginning to realize why taking to the air was something he wanted to do - and he might like it now only because it was a setup for violence. |Fly.| Vidarr found he enjoyed the swiftness that the air lent him, and was quite happy to launch himself skyward at his owner's request. It might be biding time, which he wasn't a big fan of. But it's proven so far to be just the beginning of some really good bloodshed, which he is pretty excited for.
Vast wings churned the sand as Vidarr launched himself, taking advantage of his foe's temporary distraction to get into the air. It was likely to come back in turn, wasn't it? As long as he was in the air, the wind drake was all too confident he was untouchable. Leave it up to his owner to be worried about the odds and consequences if a thundergug does manage to catch him out of the air!

Sandy shook her head, the sound going away. She grunted loudly and stepped forward, looking at the drake. The camp coloured creature stood out against the soft sand, and the Thundergug had to act quickly if she was going to cause some lasting damage. The drake was a tad faster than Sandy, and being airborne would just make him quicker. Like Sandy and Amelia, the drake and his owner were communicating through a telepathic connection. Although no words were being spoken out loud, conversation was happening between both duos.
Use his tactic against him. Make some thunderous sound, disorientate our foe
As Amelia explained this, the drake shot into the sky. She growled to herself, her crisp blue eyes following the Sarane into the sky. This would make things much harder for Sandy, but if she was able to strike the creature when it came down they would be okay. They had gotten very lucky with the Tat-lung, and she imagined few others were able to take that creature down. Sandy grunted and turned to her owner, her dark eyes fixating on the mammalian. Let's hope I can reach him from the sky. All that gym training has to be for something.
Sandy was quick enough in her action, and although the drake would be in the sky, she was hoping they would have a chance to disorientate him and then attack.

As expected, there came the thundering answer to Vidarr's roar - and Lethalia can't help but be impressed by a 'gug's display of power, making such a thundering with their weight alone. It was this kind of thing that was most helpless moments in the pit; where Vidarr's only defense remaining was mostly luck. As proven so far, it had it's ways of keeping him out of harm's reach thus far. Just as easily, the scales could tip, and he could just be flying ever so slightly too low - |Vidarr, c'mon, wake up,| she urged him instead, fighting off the want to linger on that thought. The fact that there was nothing to be done until her drake recovered, she hated it.
Being aloft was enough for his wings to keep him that way, some kind of survival measure akin to breathing while unconscious. Ah, how he hated the loud noises in return - if he could only manage to silence the notion if he was fast enough. No matter, especially if it meant he was skyborne instead, right? As far as he was concerned, there was still quite little that could go wrong!

They wouldn't have very many opportunities to attack the drake. Sandy was significantly slower than than Vidarr, and now that he was in the air this made it even more troublesome for the gug. They had put work into her so that she was able to attack faster creatures, but that didn't always win them battles. Thundergugs were tanks, but still rather slow creatures. Creatures that were more nimble than them could easily sneak out of their grasps, and luckily Sandy didn't take failure too hard on herself.
We might only have a couple chances to attack, depending on how fast this creature is.
The Thundergug's words echoed through the mammalian's head. She recognized the situation, and was very realistic about it. This made it easier on them when they would lose, because Sandy never took it hard and in turn Amelia recovered from a loss very quickly. Of course, they enjoyed the wins that they did have. Nobody was ever upset that they had a run with success, but some took losses harder than others.
Alright, use Rend. It's a hard hit but it'll be necessary I think.
Sandy rarely questioned her best friend's requests, and this would not be a time that she did. She growled and quickly charged towards the drake. It swooped through the sky, and she aimed to catch it as it neared the 'gug. If all played out right, her claws would dig into the drake's flesh and hopefully be a one hit knock out, if it didn't work the drake would slip away and she would be charging aimlessly through the sand.

Every moment that passed by was another opportunity for the beast aground to catch her drake right from the air. There were certainly creatures that could wipe him out with a single hit, and there's a damn good chance that a 'gug would be the one that could. Vidarr couldn't even come close to being able to deal nearly that much damage to them in turn, not all at once.
It was difficult to want to have Vidarr close the gap that was keeping him relatively safe, but Lethalia couldn't see his element having much use here. Though the winds upon his wings could toss and whip at a smaller foe, this creature would be largely unfazed at a breeze. The drake's way it was, then. |Crunch!|
Just like he had expected, being airborne kept him completely safe! All of the concern he can feel radiating off the satyr, for nothing. Clearly, she worried too much. Vidarr banked hard to avoid the oncoming battering ram, another tilt of the wing brought him swooping right back down after it. At least sometimes his owner could get with the program - straightforward was best in the drake's opinion, naturally!

Sandy felt herself fly past the opponent, as his airborne tactics kept him safely out of the way from the Thundergug. Sandy grunted and stopped and turned herself around in the sand so she was once again facing her target. He was easily able to dodge her movements. Amelia cursed herself for forgetting the agility bracelet at home, perhaps this would have been a good time to use it. Certainly would benefit the Thundergug. The large tank was not a dexterous creature and unfortunately Sandy's strength only mattered if she could hit the creature.
Alright, that's okay. Obviously he's a little bit quicker than us. So let's try it again. He's not quite as stunned anymore, which means he has to attack. He's not strong enough to take you out in one hit, so we have another shot. Once he comes down to attack you, you try to retaliate back, and let's try the same thing. Use your claws for a rend.
So what's going to happen is he is going to attack me with little problem and I'm probably going to awkwardly stagger past him again. You know, I can't wait for this tournament to be over. Battling is just not what I'm meant for.
Amelia chuckled to herself. These creatures were made for strength. They could pull large carts for long distances, and were incredible pack animals. Those characteristics made them formidable battle creatures, aside from that they weren't all that quick to move. The lack of dexterity made battling challenging. Amelia had put work into Sandy to make her more dexterous for battles, but it wasn't enough most times. Sometimes they got lucky, like with that Tat-lung. And who was to say it wouldn't happen again?
The wind shifted and the drake circled and came back towards her. It was clear this time he was going for an attack. Sandy wasn't going to be able to get out of the way. However, she could play her cards right and if she attacked back soon enough she just might not miss.
