It would of course have been quite surprising if Renathan ever did get a custom that was easy to take care of. Most of them had come with difficulties in some way or another, unsurprisingly, and Renathan would find it incredibly funny to finally have a creature that behaved theirself from the get go. Then again, could anyone really expect their intact males and females to act right around one another in creatures like the orbaru, where they are breedable at all times and such? Renathan chuckled to himself, beneath his breath, trying to keep from drawing any more attention to his rather large battle orbaru. The line was slowly working down, of course, and since his orbaru were already playing, he wasn't too worried. As long as they didn't get up to anything before he could get the berry in them, he could really care less. But he also didn't want to waste the berry; he had to know that they were going to get along once Cinnabon was let out of her carrier. It was a conundrum, for sure, but Renathan wasn't certain that Lazare wouldn't jump on Cinnabon for pulling his ears. This was certainly going to be his most difficult pairing yet.

Renathan had surprisingly enough not had too many difficult orbaru pairings in the past, perhaps surprisingly. He had worked with some pairs that he thought would be an issue before, but Cinnabon and Lazare were easily a big mess, probably his two most difficult orbaru, and he was nervous about it. Thankfully, he had a lot of time to stand there and wait; he had a long ways to go to think this through. Of course, he had thought this through; the only females that could possibly come out with the sort of offspring that he wanted were Cinnabon (the preferable one appearance wise) and Liliana. Liliana was too pale, too spotty. Renathan didn't really want spots out of these to be honest. Renathan thought about this for a moment, of course it was probably dubious to breed most creatures entirely for their coat colors, but Renathan would never breed a creature that was indeed sickly or otherwise, and orbaru tended not to be difficult like that at least. The closest thing to a sickly orbaru that he'd bred was Howie; and it turned out that his slight aversion to most food items was not at all genetic. Renathan was relieved!

Standing in line was perhaps one of the most annoying things that Renathan did on a semi-regular basis now. He didn't think at all that he was entitled to not have to wait in line when everyone else had to, but he honestly hadn't remembered the Breeding Center having been this bad in the past... It was a real mess. He really enjoyed working on orbaru like this, and he didn't want to have to stop, but did he really have the time to work with them as much as he was doing recently? He really wasn't sure, but he had to start looking into whether or not this was going to be sustainable or not. For now, however, he looks at Lazare and tells himself that eventually, he was going to have an orbaru of every breed with his coloration. Renathan really liked the whole red-panda style marking set that these had, and he wanted as many more of them as he could get. Still, he knew that it might be a long road to get there, especially since Cinnabon was not exactly the shining example of a red-panda styled critter, despite being related to Lazare (okay, so there was a lot of other blood there and all).

Finally, the line was slowly starting to wind down, and Renathan just couldn't be happier. Well, he probably could, of course, but he was quite relieved that he wasn't going to have to be in this line forever. He was already incredibly worried when it came to the pair he had today; what with him not having a carrier large enough for the battle orbaru that everyone seemed so afraid of around here. The issue was that if he wasn't careful, for all he knew, Lazare might not have to get very close to Cinnabon at all to 'get to her'. Renathan really did not want the two to get everything over with before the berry, or before they got into a room and all. Renathan waited in that line with a surprisingly decently well acting Lazare, who was simply staring down with his large starry blue eyes into the pink powdery eyes of the little tiny female in the carrier. The logistics of it were just confusing. However, Renathan was at least happy that he wasn't terrorizing anyone else's orbaru, and Cinnabon didn't seem afraid of him. She was, however, trying to get her paw out of the carrier, all fluffy.

Renathan knew exactly what that meant, as he watched one dusty grey paw slip out and then try to get at the male. The mammalian knew it far before the rather unsuspecting red panda battle orbaru did. He leaned forward, his head blinking, as if he were trying to get to the female; and his ear got way too close. Soon, her paw managed to get to his ear and she grabbed it and pawed it, then pulled quite strongly on it. Lazare let out a noise, and then clicked his head back a bit, backing up. The female was able to hold on to his ear a lot longer than Renathan had expected. Already, the male was holding on to his ear and staring strangely at her, aggressively for a moment, until he seemed to remember himself that she was indeed a female; and they were here for things that weren't aggressive. Renathan tilted his head quietly, and watched the male for a moment, trying to ascertain how much of a danger he was for Cinnabon if this sort of thing continued. His heart was in his throat for a moment; battle orbaru were indeed dangerous, after all. Renathan silently wished the line would empty up.

Renathan really needed to get in, get this done, and get the heckie out; since every second he stayed here with an aggressive male like his Lazare was a bit of a danger for the annoying Cinnabon and of course all of the other orbaru here to a small degree. Renathan of course was sure that he could control him, but he didn't want to have to deal this for any longer than what he had to. If only the people that were mean-mugging them right now knew that he was planning on coming here once a month with Lazare for the rest of the year, they would probably be throwing a fit right now. Finally, there was only about three different people ahead of him. He was biding his time well enough, and he was very glad that it would soon be over well enough. At least the line part of this. The people ahead of him had several different orbaru, each one with a pair of two, so he knew that it was probably going to be a while before they could get in yet, but he was glad that he was going to manage to get back at some point today.

Renathan was sure that he was over time already from the time that he needed to leave to get to work; it had been such a long time that he had been standing there, but he was sure that it wouldn't take too long whenever he got back there. It was just going to take a while, still. Renathan waited for a moment, and quietly stepped up when one of the individuals in front of him get their papers fixed up and then went to sit down. Renathan waited, tapping a foot, quietly. Since he didn't tend to wear shoes (well, he couldn't find any that worked with his foot anatomy for one) he didn't make any noise when he tapped his foot. He was holding Cinnabon quite close to his chest, and already Lazare was curiously watching her; if not keeping his ears far from her. Renathan honestly did not blame the huge creature for the aversion, but was shocked that he had already developed an aversion to it. Hopefully the creature would keep his aversion and would keep his ears away from the annoying, somewhat painful actions of the female. She had, after all, harassed poor S'more at home until he had to separate them.

Already Cinnabon was trying to get at Lazare's ears again, her little paws all snaking out of the little openings in the critter carrier, trying to get at them long ears. Renathan fought the urge to snark at her for doing it; she really needed to be trained not to do this, in all honesty. "Come on little Cinnabon, don't be pullin' on his ears." Renathan managed to get out as sweetly as possible, without the snarl that he'd wanted to give. Of course she had no idea what he was saying anyway, so Renathan was sure that it was wasted breath. Still, he needed to get this on the road. The next person moved forward and began working on their paperwork; the last person of course was the one that had let him in; the one right in front of him in line. Renathan knew that he was going to have to keep waiting after this, but thankfully he felt like his time he was going to get out of here sooner rather than later. The battle orbaru was going to be trouble to keep steady in the waiting room, Renathan just knew, and though he wasn't looking forward to it, he had been standing for a long time now.

Renathan was super tired, but he just had to push through it. They were nearly done; he was in the home stretch, he told himself. The orbaru were growing more and more annoying, by the second. Lazare was a huge creature and a little hard to control for such a playful creature; but Cinnabon, though tiny, was a mess. She was actually way worse than he was. Cinnabon was leaping about in the box now, trying to get out, presumably to get all of the ears pulled in the whole building probably. He knew that she could probably smell the other orbaru well enough to realize that there must be lots of long curly ears around for pulling. It would certainly be an issue. Renathan wasn't sure what to do about her ear pulling tendencies, but he hoped that eventually, some day, she would grow out of it. However, the biggest issue was that she was needed for this breeding program... He may actually have to wind up selling her if this kept up; maybe being the bottom ranking orbaru in a family for once would make her stop pulling ears so badly. Renathan frowned quietly, staring down into the box after her.

Perhaps, if this breeding went well enough, he might actually sell Cinnabon? He hadn't wanted to at first, because she was indeed one of only two females in Lazare's lineage that looked like him even remotely, even slightly, and he needed at least one that would work out. But she was trouble, lots of trouble, to keep around the other orbaru. Renathan had to really think about all of this, it was super important to figure these things out in the long run. He wondered if this breeding would actually be successful, and then pushed it out of his mind whenever the person that had held the door open for him took their orbaru pair of glittering gold matching critters; one with a sapphire tail, to the seats. He was relieved when he finally stepped up to the breeding center front desk, and reached for the paperwork. Immediately, the helper raised their hand. "Oh, yes?" Renathan asked, voice a little creaky. The breeding center official pointed to his battle orbaru and smiled at him. 'Because he's a battle orbaru, you'll be heading back as soon as the next room opens.' He was immediately told. Ah, that made sense. Battle orbaru were a bit dangerous, for orbaru standards.

Renathan of course was sure that he could take care of Lazare, well enough; make sure that he wasn't going to be a danger to others, but he could definitely see why the Breeding Center officials may not feel confident about all of this; especially since a lot of people come here not entirely knowing what to do with their breeding pairs. Not everyone knew how everything worked, not everything knew how to deal with their pairs, what a male and a female looked like, or how to control their animals. So Renathan understood them wanting to get ahead of the problem as soon as possible, even if it was not going to be an issue with him. If anything, the little female he had with him was much more dangerous than Lazare due to her seemingly malicious desire to pull on all of the ears. Lazare wasn't technically malicious, just possibly dangerous due to being large and such. Renathan wasn't about to tell them that they didn't have to do that to him at all, even though they didn't, because he really wanted to get back there as soon as possible anyway... Wait, Renathan just thought of something, is it possible that...

Renathan glanced around the room again as he kept working on his paperwork, furtively. Individuals were still looking at him and Lazare rather annoyingly. Oh, really? So it wasn't that they were mad that he brought in a battle orbaru because it might be a danger to them, it was that he was going to be able to skip in line because of the creature. Renathan felt bad, of course, he was certainly not quite happy about him jumping in line, but he was glad that he was able to? It was hard to think about it, of course. Renathan was quiet for a moment, and immediately finished the paperwork, giving it over. He had to put down Cinnabon during this time in order to get this over with, and Lazare had not missed his chance to notice this of course; and had immediately bent down to stick his nose to the carrier to try to look into her face. Well, at least he hadn't gotten his ears pulled this time; not for lack of trying of course. Cinnabon had her little paws trying to stick out of all of the holes to get at the ears of the huge battle orbaru.

Renathan would have to cross his fingers and beg that the pair would behave like they were supposed to, after all. Hopefully the tiny little female wouldn't be too rough with Lazare's ears for him to do what he was supposed to. Renathan stood off to the side so that the line could move again, as soon as he managed to pick the carrier back up. He didn't want to get in the way of the line while he waited for the next room to come open. The people were still staring out at him quietly, annoyed that he was going to get the room next. However, Renathan wasn't really trying to look at them, he was really looking out to see if anyone else had a battle orbaru. Of course they didn't, that would not have made sense anyway, would it have? Renathan was certain that he would have been second if there had been someone else with a battle orbaru here. They weren't very popular or common now, were they? He was beginning to realize that now at least. However, he did really like Lazare, and well, he was going to be here a whole lot soon enough. Over the next few months.

It doesn't take long for another person to come out of the hallway, and Renathan is stoked for this. He really wanted to get this over with, and it wouldn't be much longer if he got this pair together, he thought. He had to get the berry to the female as soon as they got in the room, he figured. A breeding center helper ran back to get the room all fixed up, and he knew that it was a matter of short time until he could get these two all fixed up and he could get out of here. As long as Cinnabon didn't cause too many issues, at least. "You're a mess; Cinnabon." He murmured to her, quietly, wishing that the tiny creature would have an easy time going in a few moments. Renathan fought the urge to tap his foot as he watched the line move forward, and he stood by the wayside so as not to get in the way. However, soon enough, Renathan was pleased to see the breeding center helper that had previously went back to clean the room come out and wave for him to come over. Renathan didn't have to pull on Lazare to get him to follow him.

The way down to the cleaned room wasn't too long, so it didn't take Renathan long to open up the door and then stare out quietly at the room. It was a little... Sparse. Had they removed some of the toys since he had a battle orbaru? Nothing hard or breakable was around, Renathan soon realized. He breathed out quietly, and then took Lazare and Cinnabon into the room, closing the door behind him. Renathan didn't let Lazare off of the leash; there was no real point. Instead, he tied the leash to the nearest heavy thing, quickly moving to take the berry to the female. He offered it to her through the metal grate of her critter crate, making sure that she was able to get a hold of it, and then he waited until she consumed it. He figured that the baby berry would help make this worth it; hopefully the breeding would come out quite well with the possibility of two kids. Renathan was quiet and watched the female eat the berry, hoping that she would do well like she was supposed to. After she was finished with the baby berry, the mammalian let the little grate open, quietly.
