{I admit, it does surprise me to see a rabbit in the dunes of a beach.} he pointed out. Any rodents of the desert were small, large earred and very skittish around anyone, really. "Ha. Beach bunny. Hahaha." the rabbit outright cackled at that, smacking his knee with a fluffy clawed paw. Flare could feel the pup trying to hide under him as much as possible. "Thats rich. Yes, we're everywhere, beaches included. Sand's not easy to burrow in, so you won't find warrens on the beaches." He scratched the corner of his dark eye with one claw and flicked a bit of sand grit away. "Caveins, you know." Nobody had tried mining in the sand, but to excavate, yes. To clear it away. "Now." he seemed to get back to business. "Don't put all your concentration into making those sand spots to stand on, the hardening of the stone." 15 19.20

Is that... can you hear squawking? As you move, the sound of wings in flight becomes increasingly audible and-- ack! A flock of seabirds descends upon you and your companion, rustling and wheeling. They must've arrived to pick up the scraps now the tide's out! They leave after a few moments of chaos, but may not have left a good impression on your pet... or your clothing. Oops.
[Any pet less than 5 loyalty bolts and cannot return. Any pet with 5 loyalty or more will remain, though they are shaken. Pets taught [Accept Noise] are not affected by this event.]

WIth shabh and Percy The last time he'd come to the mansion, an alarming amount of seabirds chased them out of the area. Also, Shabh hadn't come along. Flare watches his companion's rigid behavior as they step over the threshold of magical barrier that separated the city from this... place. Having been born and bred in the desert, he has never actually 'seen' the ocean. Big water, thats what the books or the loud traders called it. Big mannah, that you cannot drink. If it is drunken by the sun, it left behind salts. Its sunny, theres a lot of grass peppered about that looks the color of straw and it smells of fermented plants and salt. He stretches a bit. The lead in his hand is not nearly as tight as it was. Percy sniffs the air a few times, his paws sinking in the sand a bit. He's not nearly as spooked as last time... and he feels... more confident. Less likely to flip the hell out and bolt on being mobbed by birds. The rakai doesn't venture too far, keeping close to the bigger him. Who seems incredibly tense. Wonder why that was... it didn't 'feel' bad? For Flare, he wasn't sure about convincing the pup how to fish, but how to retrieve, he can do. Its as simple as tossing in the water, right? The first thing came from finding a big enough mannah that he could toss a few things into the water and convince Percy to retrieve them. Flare had honestly no idea how to fish specifically. Because the 'how' is so different between each species. Like dogs dont' fish with their hands, people do. People don't have tails to splash the water and spook fish, but dogs and he in specific, do. Rakai had nice long tails like his own. Bark! Shabh plodded ahead of the motley pair, following a strong smell of salt. Strong enough that if he lapped the air it tasted salty. Just over this little ridge is a space that shimmers and is much longer then he can see across. His alpha and the pup come up alongside him. {This might work just fine, Shabh.} Flare mutters to his companion, with gratefulness and pride. The rakai puffs his chest out just a bit at that, ruffling his bones and slides down the tiny sandy incline to reach the water. Sniffing it, tasting it, backing off with a spitting. Shock! Bad taste! Something catches his eye at the bottom of the water. They shine... what are they? 2 fishing 2 x.20
