It had been a long while since Renathan had actually managed to get irate and blow up. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time that he had done it. However, Renathan was super stressed, and all sorts of bad things had been happening recently. He felt like panicking, suddenly, and without much provocation, even in his own opinion. Renathan made it to the breeding center in a rush, without even realizing how he had done it, and then he leaned up against the outside wall, putting each of the carriers down on the ground faced toward one another so that the creatures could see each other. Then, soon enough, Renathan was having a difficult time breathing, clutching at his chest a bit. He remembered what he had been told about this, and focused on calming down, on breathing. He put his arms above his head and tried to breath. This was ridiculous, he knew it. There was no reason for him to feel this way, but it was here anyway, like a brick on his chest. He knew that it was just panic, just panic, nothing worse. At least the two orbaru were quieter now. He tried to focus on his breathing.

Renathan was probably going to attract attention if he didn't manage to get back up, but it still took him a while to finally stand. He wasn't sure what all the orbaru did during that time period, maybe they played a bit, or maybe they didn't. When Renathan checked on them for a second, he noticed that Twix was pressed up against the back of his crate, as far away from the female as possible. Oh, that was a bad thing. Renathan wasn't sure if they were compatible, with him acting like this. It made hardly any sense, since the female was ready to be bred and all of that stuff. Hopefully once he got them inside and out of the cage, he would do what he was supposed to instead of acting like Rafet was going to hurt him, or Renathan was going to hurt him or something. Renathan sighed softly, and then picked up both of the carriers, and then he clumsily opened the front door of the breeding center, stepping inside of the building with a much calmer, for the most part, pair of orbaru. He still didn't feel good, in fact, he felt a little sick now.

It was a shame, but Renathan was running out of time today already. He doubted that the pair would breed as quickly as he would have wanted them to, and now he was going to have to get the male checked for injuries. He felt like some sort of a bad orbaru owner, and heck, maybe he was. He felt sick, his head was spinning, and just the thought of everything that had went on recently was making him super ill feeling. Renathan swayed on his feet, and someone noticed it; a breeding center helper. They walked over, and asked him what was wrong. He immediately frowned beneath the mask and lifted up the critter carrier containing Twix. "He's been acting crazy, he's a feral, you know, one of the strays. He started jumping in the container, and wouldn't let me grab him." It was true, but Renathan still felt bad about it and all. Renathan allowed the breeding center helper to take the critter carrier that had Twix in it, and Renathan followed the tiny rabbit mammalian back to the back room, to one of the breeding rooms. Renathan hadn't even noticed that there wasn't a line this go around.

Renathan was very, very tired, suddenly. He slumped down in the nearest chair, sitting down the container with Rafet in it. "Little Rafet, sorry I keep picking these odd males for you." He mumbled, feeling a bit bad. He gently bent down and patted Rafet carefully to calm her down. She was fine, of course. Rafet had a bulletproof personality and was never scared of anything. Renathan had to admire that, he didn't like Rafet quite a bit more than any of his other females. "You're a good girl, at least." He said, mumbling again, his palm against the forehead of his mask. The rabbit helper a bit away from him was checking the male, opening up the critter carrier and looking him over. Renathan was nervous; what if he had hurt himself somehow? The breeding center helper asked him why he wanted to breed one of the strays, and Renathan had to sheepishly tell the truth; the creature had pretty markings, and well, Renathan was looking for orbaru that might breed together to make well-trainable offspring. The strays seemed a little more clever on average, if only a tiny bit, and Renathan wanted that for his bloodlines.

Renathan was glad that he had a moment to sit down and think. He was sure that this little... Tantrum that his emotions were throwing was probably another of the little attacks he'd had since Shy Guy had lost the tournament. It was so terrible, looking at him there, hardly standing in the dust, almost crushed and bloodied and bruise to the point of death. Renathan had nearly gotten sick then, and every once in a while now he felt like he was going to be sick again over it. Little things caused him great distress, since then, and he hadn't been able to be normal in a long time. He didn't feel super comfortable with it at all, and it was a mess all in all. Renathan tried to push it from his mind, but he really just couldn't. He was super worried about the entire thing, and he couldn't get it out of his mind... Perhaps he should not have been out today, instead of the whole breeding center thing. BUT he was already here, and going home at this point would be a huge waste of time. No, Rafet was going to breed today, if Twix was up for it of course.

Twix could have thrown a bit of a wrench into the machine that Renathan was trying to run today; of all the things he was trying to do, and instead Renathan's own dumb hangups had caused the issue. Renathan felt like that was the main issue, of course. It always was his fault, and there was no one else to look back to. He felt like no matter what he did, this was always what he had to be true to himself about. He looked up just in time to realize that the bunny mammalian was speaking to him. Ah, yes. So Twix was fine, he was just feral, and he needed to be trained a bit, or at least played with a bit, before being bred a lot in the future. The breeding center helper looked at him a bit judgmentally, and for once Renathan felt like he deserved it a bit. He should have thought about that, of course. "Yes, you are right, what was I thinking... They are totally different than any other orbaru I've ever had." He mumbled, looking sheepish. Looks like he might have to go home after all, and find another pair? He hoped not!

When the rabbit saw how anxious Renathan was being, they affixed him with a worried and exasperated expression, and then finally nodded to him. Renathan was told that he could stay of course, since he was already here, though they would be surprised if Twix was actually going to pay enough attention to the female to actually breed with Renathan in the breeding room and all. "Oh, okay. I'd like to try, since we are already here then." Renathan answered, taking the feral back into his arms carefully. It didn't like him much, not at all, but it seemed just a little less stressed now, for whatever reason. Renathan frowned beneath the mask at this, but thanked the bunny mammalian anyway and waved to him gently. "Thank you for all the help and for checking out Twix!" Renathan said, as the rabbit mammalian left. Renathan still felt bad about the entire situation, at least. However, this could still get even worse, he knew, and he stood there in the breeding room feeling unsure as to what was even going to happen as soon as he put Twix on the ground. Still, he had to do it and all.

Renathan stood there like a deer in headlights for a moment before finally shaking his head and then carefully he endeavored to sit the stray orbaru down on the linoleum floor. He immediately kicked away from the mammalian, not to Renathan's shock or anything. He knew that the creature would probably do that, which was why he had not at all tried to do this outside, but it still hurt! Renathan's chest was smarting where the creature's powerful back legs had kicked the wind out of him for a second. He slumped down into the floor, more emotionally defeated than physically so. Would he ever be okay gain? Renathan wasn't sure if he would. The fateful day at the pit had changed him forever, removed some important part of his selfhood that he would never be replaced. Renathan suddenly had no idea what he would do without this nameless thing that had been part of his soul and no was no longer. Would he ever be okay again? He kept thinking this over and over in his head on repeat, and even the stray orbaru had turned around to look at him and was now staring at him like Renathan was an idiot.

Perhaps Renathan was an idiot. He felt like all he ever did was upset people left and right. They always wanted certain things, specific things, things that sometimes didn't make sense to him automatically, because his culture was so different. He tried his best to perform his job, but he felt like he just didn't have the ability anymore to make people understand. He was a bit lonely, too, even when being around people. He didn't know what to do, he felt like a shell of his former self, like a cicada husk left on a summer tree's crusty bark, shadows only within. Renathan realized vaguely that he had not let the female out of her cage, and Rafet needed to be out for the breeding to happen. He also remembered the berry. He needed to give her the berry, or this will have all been for naught anyway. Renathan struggled to move, or rather he struggled to make himself move, because he just felt like laying there in the floor forever. He didn't feel like finishing this today, but he had to force himself. No matter what happened, or what had happened, he at least had to finish this today.

Renathan told himself; today. He had to finish this today. He couldn't just go home and come back later. The biggest reason for this was because he may not have time to come back during the rest of the month, and he really needed to get his second pairing into the breeding center tomorrow, on his day off. But he felt like falling through the floor and hiding, covered up in his covers at home. He had to get up. He had to force himself to do it. He had to, just had to, no matter what. Finally, the ridiculous mammalian was able to get himself up out of the floor and move over to the female's cage, where he laid down in the floor again. Well, he probably wouldn't manage to get there, would he? He felt like just taking a nap in the floor, but that probably would be frowned upon by the breeding center helpers if the pair didn't breed soon when they came to check in on them. It was very important that he got up and did this, no matter what happened he had to get up and keep moving on. The stray and Rafet alike stared at him oddly.

Stirred into action finally after what felt like ten thousand forevers, the mammalian finally sits up and uses all of his emotional strength to get his body to unlatch the hook that was keeping the female in the crate. Rafet boredly huffed at him, as if not understanding why he was being lazy now when she wanted to get out and do what female orbaru do, and then she stood atop of him for a moment, and big female for sure, and she began licking one of her ears, grooming it carefully, as she had seen some fluffy orbaru do a few weeks ago. She had learned how to make sure that she was very much a beautiful female, and the stray looked at her. All the stray had ever seen were poorly fed, scrawny females, and to him she was the prettiest female in the entire world, being all well-fed and lazy. The stray thumped the ground with his hind legs, trying to get her attention in the way that the strays did, but she wasn't paying any attention! He had to find some way to get her attention, he decided! Renathan was gently sitting up, putting Rafet gently down on the floor instead of on top of him.

Renathan felt like he had fought and won a war, finally, but was still feeling a little groggy. He needed to get to the berry in his pouch, and he carefully grabbed the pouch and opened the thing to procure the blue berry from it and he held it between his thumb and forefinger carefully. "Alrighty Rafet, I need you to eat this before you go get the boy." He said. He was sure that given enough time, the two would breed, but it may take longer than usual since the stray was so weird and they didn't seem to speak the same language at all. Rafet liked Renathan a lot, she had been around him quite a bit now that she had been to the breeding center twice, and she moved over to him from her spot on the floor, ignoring the male for now. Renathan gently gave her the berry, and her alone, and she began to eat it right in front of the male. Still, the male was very wary of Renathan, and refused to come any closer while Renathan was there. Renathan was going to have to move back and sit down in one of the chairs, anyway.

Renathan struggled to get himself to move back up into one of the chairs, and he did so by pushing himself backwards with his legs like a petulant child. He was wanting to go back home and get into his warm bed underneath all of the covers, so that he could sleep. Sleep sounded like a great idea, now, even though he had lots of things to do today. He felt a little sick, still, and nearly was sick as he sat up in the chair, his back pressed up against its' back. Now that he was away from Rafet, who didn't care either way now that she was eating the berry, the male was more inclined to come forward to the female, though he was slow and careful. Renathan was still shocked at his actions, he wasn't eager to play like domesticated orbaru, not that he wasn't domesticated, he was feral at best. However, he was much more wary of his surroundings and others. Still, when he finally got close to Rafet, she huffed a bit at him and then gave him a small piece of the berry; which he stared at absolutely floored, unable to understand a gift when he saw it.

Renathan should have found this interesting, and perhaps would have had he not been so tired and aggravated with how the day had went. He wished that he was back home in his warm bed under the nice covers, and not sitting here with his knees pressed up against his chest and his arms wrapped around them. He didn't really want to be here, finishing this breeding and having another one of these breakdowns he was quickly beginning to see were getting worse in some ways instead of better. Didn't things always get quite a bit more bad before they got better? Renathan had heard that somewhere, but where had he heard it. Renathan hoped that the days would grow less stressful, and that time would heal the pain of seeing that poor beloved creature all smeared down into the dirt, loving him so much that he was willing to stand up even though he was almost crushed. It was horrible, sickening, and Renathan hated it, hated it, hated it. He pressed his hands to his mask for a moment, trying to gather his chasing, repeating, swirling thoughts. He had to get his head back together. At least the orbaru were... Doing whatever kind of game.

Little did Renathan know, but the orbaru were not really playing. Rafet had already realized that this male wasn't the kind that played, and instead was trying to find ways to communicate in her little orbie way to him that he could EAT THE DANG BERRY PIECE or SHE WOULD if HE DIDN'T. She was practically screaming it to him in her own little way, but Twix was still sniffing it, looking up at Rafet warily, and then sniffing it again. Finally, she snorts and makes a dive for it, which forces him to snatch it up and run away with it as if she were trying to steal it from him, and then he ate it. As soon as he ate it though, he seemed to realize that the female was there, and he was there, and there were no other males around (or females but ah well) and she was ready for that sort of thing. Perhaps he should do that? He thumped his hind feet against the ground again, trying to get her to pay attention to him. This time, she seemed to catch notice of him, so he came closer, tapping his foot against the ground again loudly.
