Jewel had heard about the Traveler's Emporium through the grapevine. His previous excursion to the marketplace had not lead him there, which was perhaps a good thing; goodness knows he couldn't resist the temptation of anything exotic and sparkly. Now, though, he had good reason to seek the store out. He'd heard of the wonders of the Ribbon of Telepathy, and was keen on investing in one with what little money he had to spare.
Not having to pay Aura any rent was doing miracles for his savings.
All things considered, he was expecting something a little more flashy than what he found. A cart? A stall? A splice of both, apparently. Still, he was drawn immediately to the array of foreign goods like a moth to a flame - and considered whom he assumed to be the store owner with a smile. A handsome face was always a nice bonus.
"Hey," He offered. "I've heard great things about this place... Ribbons of Telepathy, huh?"
[Buying - 1x Ribbon of Telepathy (Pink) - 175 Credits]
Alan was more than happy to see a customer coming, as he always was. He slyly grinned as the customer showed up. "Hey yourself." He said, in a friendly manner. His mannerisms were smooth and practiced, as always. "Oh yeah?" He was always glad to hear that the word he had spreading out was getting around and doing what it was supposed to do; get people to come to the cart. "Oh yes, plenty of them. Purple ones, blue ones, pink ones..." He lifted a hand, and touched some of the uncut long ones tied to the cart. "Any color caught your fancy?"
Jewel looked Alan up and down. The suit didn't really fit in with the aesthetic of the cart, but he wasn't going to complain - there was never a downside to a man in a nice suit. After his entirely unsubtle appraisal, he turned his attention to the lengths of ribbon. Pretty colours. If he was feeling more liberal with his cash, he'd set up with more than one, just because they were nice if nothing else. They'd work wonders as accessories.
"I think pink would work best," He concluded. There was no solid decision as to who the ribbon would be used on yet, but pink was a universally nice colour. It matched his hair, too. "How much do I owe you, Mr...?"
It didn't hurt to butter the salesman up, just a little. Jewel was hardly expecting a discount as a first time customer, but he could test the waters and observe how he might respond in future.
It occurred to Alan quite a bit ago that the customer was indeed quite an uncommon sight around his cart; not that he didn't get customers often. Alan got customers quite often, in fact, but not typically fae in the city. "Pink, coming right up." He said, gently untying one from the cart and laying the clean object down on the cart. "Alan." He said, shooting them a smirk. "Your total would be 175. Could I manage to get you anything else?" He said, gesturing a tad. "RoTs aren't all that I have- if you are ever interested in returning to browse." He winked. He was quite proud of his wares.
Fae in the city indeed. Jewel hadn't seen many of his kind since arriving, and was aware of his looking different to the others milling around - enough mammalians and humans and variations thereof to last a lifetime, but none like him. He was accustomed to being a novelty, though. It was beneficial for him on occasion.
"That's as much as I can spare right now, Alan," He replied, his voice mournful. What he wouldn't give to be able to splurge properly. "I'll be back when my pockets are lined. Here, take it quickly before I get sad."
His pouty face when he pulled the credits from his jacket was almost comedic. He hated to see his money go, even when he was getting something special for it. Still, needs must, so he held them out and turned his eyes away. What a rotten old world, to have to make sacrifices to get what you want.
"Oh of course!" He said, gently holding out his hand as the credits were handed over. The man nodded, and took the money of course. It was a small enough amount that he could count it simply by having it in his palm without really blinking an eye. "Here's your ribbon. Be sure to come back, I am sure that we can work something out in the future. I remember my repeat customers." He said, holding out the thin silky thing for the customer to take now that the transaction was otherwise completed. Still, he understood the nature of business, and was sure that the customer did as well. He knew a bit of a ham when he saw one, and he could certainly appreciate that. It would seem they were somewhat similar, perhaps.
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?

Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.
Jun 1, 2020 6:02:21 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)

Twilight-Claw: I am still interested in trading it for a green drake.

Riku: I got three pet levels and 15c out of it. <3 And all the necessary posts for my job salary form.

Riku: In mine my crossbreed used foxfire to burn it - but then it used incendiary illusion, which was extra scary because my cross is a plant pet with thick fur. It used the distraction to escape. I’m proud of it, and it’s okay that I won’t finish this month.

Renathan: *But of course, the RNG was not having that. / In Morgan's story, the Nyssa was a real thing, so I wanted to have two different situations for the variety.
May 31, 2020 18:15:27 GMT -6
Renathan: Yeah, the 'finished the story but the RNGods are being a butt' thing is a rather unfortunate situation to be in. I had already decided that in Ren's story, the elderly woman had lied about the nyssa and just wanted someone to talk to*

Riku: That makes sense. I've considered that before. -nod- I hope your non-hxr life is going smoothly.

Haix: Just quitting the job. Don't believe I'll be making the ten posts required per month any time soon. XD
May 31, 2020 16:34:01 GMT -6
Riku: Note to haix, I believe you can post the new application form at the same time as the quitting form. Unless you are simply taking an overall break from the job system.

Fiera Ferella: even AT the gardens yet. XD It sucks when you've finished writing your story and haven't gotten a success, because then its like "well... now what?" XD
May 31, 2020 15:51:47 GMT -6
Fiera Ferella: ive found that when there's a quest that might take longer like this, its a good idea to try and space out the story beats to try and roll a success before i get to the meat of the story. XD Like, by the time i was 5 posts in my character wasn't
