The two kappers looked nervous, but in different ways. The smaller one shook a bit, while the larger one petted his head comfortingly. Morgan was more focused on the door, which they carefully opened, allowing theirself and Nico out into the yard. Nico immediately began sniffing around, and Morgan knew that something was out there. "What are you smellin', boyo?" Morgan said, voice soft as they looked around for something warily theirself. They scanned the area for any movement with their eyes, and then eventually stepped out onto the green grass of the yard. Yup, that was the feeling- Morgan's gut feeling returned, making them feel a bit nervous. Nico was immediately by Morgan's side, as if he could feel this was well. Morgan made a soft tsk noise beneath their breath, but didn't say anything. There was something here, but where was it? What was it, as well? They tilted their head, trying to listen.

At first, everything was silent and still. Then a small gust of autumn wind pushed through, whistling through the trees in the front yard again, and Morgan could even hear that! It rustled through the leaves of the bushes and other such flora. No fauna could be heard at the moment, however. Morgan glanced over at the houluh, trusting his instincts, and followed behind him languidly, sure that there was something to be found nearby. The houluh was slow, his nose to the ground and his tail wagging loosely at first. As they continued on, moving forward in small twisting directions, since the houluh was vaguely searching at first, the houluh's tail stiffened harshly, and then he carefully moved in the same direction roughly. Morgan was sure that whatever it was might have been somewhere nearby. It hadn't been too long from when Morgan had first been nervous, after all. Nico seemed to be finding the trail more easy to follow, as well.

The trail was long and seemed to wind, as if the creature had been checking various spots around the area. Nico followed it faithfully, wet-nose to the ground, and Morgan followed close behind, trying to come up with contingency plans on the way down. Their arm was carefully tucked up against their body, but they were sure that they could take on whatever it was. The question that Morgan had niggling in their head though; Why was an animal stealing art supplies? Morgan frowned a bit, and watched as Nico carefully checked the ground near every single window. Oh, that made sense. The creature must have been checking in the windows to see if anyone was- wait.
Only smart creatures would check windows like that, Morgan doubted that any animal of regular intelligence would check windows specifically before going in. Nevermind the fact that it was all the windows. Now Morgan's interest was piqued.

The bespectacled human used their off hand to awkwardly push their glasses further up their nose as they crept carefully behind the sniffing houluh. Things were not going as planned, not really, but Morgan was feeling that cool-icy feeling on their neck again, forcing their hair into a standing position. The houluh felt it too, and stopped moving for a moment, looking up and all around, hackles raised. They had to find it, and soon, before it found them. They continued on, with no urging from Morgan, since Nico could practically feel every nuance in Morgan's emotions at this point, and they went further into the brush. They walked, and walked, for what felt like an hour, but could have only been about ten minutes at a rather good clip of jogging speed for a person with an injured arm in a sling.
They found something; but it wasn't the creature, not yet.

The nest, if one could call it that, was FILLED with various paintbrushes, little chisels, big chisels, hammers, and the like. A few squirted out tubes of paint littered the ground in every color known to man and then some extra from the looks of it, and the area was built of sticks. Morgan frowned, and glanced it over, as Nico sniffed it over. "Getting a good scent for it, boyo?" Morgan said, but their attention was elsewhere. They were glancing in all directions. Morgan felt distinctively watched, and whatever it was had started getting nervous. A small crack could be heard from behind Morgan, a broken twig, and both Nico and the bespectacled human turned around in a flash to find it.
"It was you!? Why are you stealing paint supplies?" Morgan called out incredulously at the long shape in the weeds. Nico didn't bark, and his little ears fell down to a relaxed stance when he saw what, or rather who, it was.

Morgan stood, arms crossed, glaring down the creature. The being huffed, moved it's body further into the light, and then sparkled in a rather golden fashion. "Come on now, explain yourself." Morgan goaded, in triplicate, as the golden tat-lung looked sheepishly at the ground at Morgan's feet. 'Shigeru wants to be a sculptor when he grows up. He was embarrassed to ask you for sculpting stuff since he isn't mature yet. So I went out to go get him some on my own.' Ryuusei said, feeling a bit sad. He was definitely one of Morgans more emotionally understanding tat-lung friends, but it was still painfully obvious that he was still young, newly matured. Nico fell back into place at Morgan's feet, and then wagged his tail, barking a greeting at none other than Ryuusei. "Ryuusei, that is the kindest, sweetest thing ever. But Please, feel free to come to me over Anything, anything at all. You don't have to steal to get anything. If money can buy it, y'all can ask me for it." Morgan smiled, and the moment was over.
"Alrighty you big twisty snek asshole, go home and don't get seen. We're NOT going to tell this terrified kapper couple that one of my wards was stealing their paint and stuff." Morgan's face had fallen to a serious expression at that point.
