They couldn't look more different, she figured, but that was going to make interesting offspring, at least she hoped. Worm was dark furred with glowing bands of color. Lark was a pretty pastel on white fur. Still though, she was sure things would work out between them rather well, she couldn't wait to see what they looked like when she was done with them. Lark had been bred the month before, but she didn't remember if Worm had been bred yet, she was leaning toward no. Everything was fine for the moment, and she carried Lark in her arms as Worm waddled beside her, hopping every few steps to keep up with the woman. Jack slowed down a little, not wanting to wear him out until it was time to breed and all that, though she wondered if this was really a good idea or not. Pastel on black would be lovely, as well as bright on white, but there was no way of knowing what they would look like anytime soon and all that, and the woman smiled a little as she thought about it. At least things were going to work well between them, or at least she hoped so.

Jack knew Lark was going to be sleeping for awhile during the breeding, but they had to get to the Breeding Center first of course. At least that was fine no matter what, she'd rather have a sleeping Orbaru than one that was struggling to keep up. At least Worm was keeping up pretty well and all that, though she was going slow no matter what to make sure he could keep up with her at the moment. Giving a little smile to Worm, the woman wondered what was going to happen between them, and knew that whatever it was would be nice. She really hoped for a black furred Orbaru with pastel markings, maybe glowing, but she didn't know if that would really look good or not. Whatever happened, she would be happy with it, she knew that much, she wasn't disappointed with Lark's offspring yet, and she was sure that wouldn't start now. Giving a little laugh, the woman kept walking, making sure Worm was keeping up with her for awhile as she carried the sleeping Lark in her arms. At least things were going to go well, and she knew she had to figure things out all the same.

It was well that Lark was sleeping at the moment she figured, it would make things easier to get to the Breeding Center and all that. Jack smiled a little as she walked, leading Worm behind her on a leash, and saw the Breeding Center out in the distance. All would be well she knew, and she smiled a little as she thought of the potential offspring that would happen from these two Orbaru. She knew that she would be happy with them no matter what, and the berry in her pocket made it sure that they would have at least two offspring from the breeding, so maybe she really would get what she was hoping for from the two of them. That would be nice, she figured, but that also meant that things needed to be done all things considered. She smiled a little, though somewhat forced this time, she would get this no matter what and all that, they just had to get to the Breeding Center first before anything could happen. She just hoped the fruit would work out for them well enough, and she really hoped for a male, but they weren't guaranteed at this point or anything.

All she had to do was wake up Lark when they got to the room they were going to be in, which wasn't all that hard whenever she could see a ball to play with. That was the best part about Lark, she was eager to please, when she was awake and all that. Jack chuckled a little and patted her on the arm as they walked, her and Worm. She was still holding the Sloth Orbaru which was fine when all was said and done, and she hoped that things would work out between her and Worm and all that, and she was really hoping she would get the offspring she was looking for, but if not, no big deal! All she could do was hope that things would work out between them and everything would be alright. At least Jack had some idea of what she was looking for, as long as she liked the outcome then things would be perfectly fine at the moment. Jack sighed a little as she walked, Worm walking behind her a little bit, she was bored and wanted to get to the Breeding Center pretty quickly at the moment, but that was going to be awhile.

If anything, at least she knew that they would get along rather well once Lark woke up and all that. It was perfect, they would love each other, she was sure of it, though she didn't know if she could really guarantee it or bet on it if someone asked her to. It was hard to say, really, but she didn't see them fighting each other or anything, they were pretty passive creatures, and Sloths usually went along with anything at this point. Giving up on getting to the Breeding Center quickly, the woman slowed down her pace a little so Worm could waddle beside her, still hopping every few steps to keep up with her long strides, and she smiled a little as she thought about it. It didn't matter what was happening, at least she had something to do, and that was all she could really ask of herself at the moment. Jack was pleased with herself, and that's what she needed to do at the moment and all that. After all, she knew her animals better than anyone, and she knew they had to get along with each other at this point. They really just had to right now.

Leafy had been running a bit late. She’d agreed to help Jack breed her Orbaru, but she’d gotten held up at the shops. She knew the way to the breeding centre so it shouldn’t take her too long to get there. Thankfully, it didn’t look like Jack had gotten there yet. Leafy spotted the older woman on the path heading towards the breeding centre. It appeared she wasn’t too late after all.
“Sorry I’m late! I hope I didn’t leave you waiting too long, Jack!”
It’d been a while since she’d seen Jack. Leafy found herself having less time to meet up with the people she’d knew. She’d always been a bit of a social recluse, but she liked spending time with Jack. As she approached Jack, Worm took an immediate interest in her presence. He glanced at Lark and then towards the newcomer. Leaving Jack’s side, he booped a greeting towards Leafy. The girl grinned down at the Orbaru and waved enthusiastically at the small creature.

"Nono! I'm the one who'd late!" Jack insisted, handing over Worm's leash to the other woman with a grateful smile, "Trust me, it's a long walk from the Preserve with two of them, so no worries at all." She smiled and nodded a little before stretching out and putting the female Orbaru, Lark, onto the ground. An upset boop accompanied the movement, of which Jack laughed a little bit and shook her head. "It's been a long time since we've seen each other! We have a lot to catch up on, how have you been?" she asked, holding the door open for Leafy and the two Orbaru to walk through. Her shoulder felt odd without Tok on it, but that was what needed to happen for the moment. Still, she rubbed her shoulder a little and then went through the door, briefly touching the pouch with her nodes in it. It was a security measure, she did it all the time no matter who she was with.

She accepted Worm’s leash, glad that the Orbaru was friendly. Orbaru in general were pretty easy-going. It really wasn’t too difficult to make friends with them. She followed Jack inside, ushering the small Orbaru in after her. She had a pair of Glow-Worm Orbaru herself, but admittedly she hadn’t done anything with them yet.
“Yes, it really has been too long! I’ve been doing really well. I got a Tat-Lung egg and the egg has been helping me through a lot. I haven’t been losing myself as much as I used too.” Leafy grinned brightly.
The egg might disagree with her at times, but she felt that it did a lot to help her. She knew she was very different from the people around her, but the egg had been helping her with that! She wanted it to hatch, but it seemed to be taking its time. She didn’t mind too much, but she was endlessly curious what it would look like.

"Oh that's great! What colors does it have?" Jack asked her as she filled out some paperwork and then motioned to some seats that were together in the waiting room. No one else was there yet and all that, but that was fine! Maybe they would get fast tracked to a room or something soon then. She didn't want to let Leafy know she had a Tat-lung egg too, not when she was this excited about it, she didn't want to kill her buzz a little by letting her know she had the same thing, though admittedly their dreams had to have been different. Leafy was a little different, but Jack didn't mind, she still liked the younger woman no problems there! Brushing her node pouch again, she sat down with Lark in her lap and watched as the Sloth lazily booped toward Worm. She knew what they were here for, even if Worm maybe didn't at this point, she'd been bred before though!

“The egg is crimson and purple! I don’t really remember how I got it, but the egg tells me that it belongs to me. I think Tat-Lung are smart enough to know that kind of thing. What are the Orbaru’s names?”
The change in subject might have been abrupt, but that was fairly normal for Leafy. She sat down next to Jack, still holding onto Worm’s leash. The male Orbaru was curious of the new surroundings. His eyes laid on Lark. He didn’t quite understand why they had been brought to this strange, new place, but he was glad to have another Orbaru to play with! He booped in return, happy that the other Orbaru seemed to like him. Leafy had a rather slack hold on the leash which allowed Worm to step closer to Lark. He leaned up and peered up at the other Orbaru. This one didn’t glow like he did!

"Oh that sounds interesting! You'll have to let me know when it hatches!" Jack exclaimed happily, and smiled at the sudden turn of conversation. She chuckled a little and stroked Lark's back as she answered, "This is Lark, she's been bred a few times before. I'm surprised you hadn't wanted to breed with her before, honestly! The male you have is Worm, I... ran out of ideas..." Laughing, she shook her head a little as Lark pawed at Worm and then yawned in his face. She knew that things would go well with them, or at least, she hoped things would go well with them she figured with a smile. It was more fun doing this with someone else than by yourself, she figured as she continued to pet her little female Orbaru. She was sleepy, like all Sloths were at this point, she figured, and she didn't know if there was anything she could do about it.

“I don’t think it’ll be ready to hatch for a while, but when it does, I’ll definitely let you know!” Her egg seemed rather odd even for an egg, but that simply made Leafy more attached to it. She didn’t really know any other eggs that seemed as intelligent as hers was.
“They should make some interesting offspring!” Leafy declared. “I honestly haven’t had the time to breed anything lately. I think the last few breedings I’ve done have been all Pachee.”
Leafy studied the two Orbaru. She liked Worm’s bright colours and she thought that they would mesh well with Lark’s pastel tones. Worm already seemed rather attached to the female. The sloth Orbaru didn’t seem to do much in Leafy’s opinion. It appeared to really like napping, which she supposed wasn’t unusual for a lot of creatures.
“What have you been up to? We really haven’t had a chance to talk in so long.”

"I hope they will! I'm hoping for a glowing one with Lark's colors, to be honest..." Jack trailed off a little, wondering how odd it would be to have a glowing, pastel Orbaru in the Preserve when she got the room for it. Giving a little chuckle, she realized it wouldn't matter too much, it would be right at home with the rest of them, she was sure of it. The woman stretched her arms out over her head for a moment or two, giving a big yawn, and then shook her head to get some cobwebs out for the moment.
What had she been up to lately? "Well.... I got some more nodes! I paid a couple of people to make some for me. Now I have six of them. I also have a familiar, but I was able to leave him at home, with thanks to my hollow node's power. He's a halfbreed named Tok," Jack told her with a smile.

“Tok is a very good name!” Leafy beamed. “I haven’t made any nodes myself, but I think my luck will change in the future. I have one of those Evergreen creatures that you can harvest the healing berries from. I just need to find more crystals.”
The node making process was complicated and Leafy tried her best to understand it. She figured when she was ready to make a node, she’d be able to straighten out the information that she had on the process. Most of her experience with nodes came from what she had read in books. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a ton of information available in the books she had access too.
She glanced over at Worm. She liked the bright, sporadic colours of the Orbaru. They were certain to make an interesting combination with Lark even if she didn’t have a preference for how they turned out. Worm booped happily at Lark once again.
