Her first impression of the room she ended up in was that it felt quite similar to being underground in the mines. She kept Minnow held closely to her chest, wanting to check that things were safe before she’d set her down. They appeared to be in a cavern with a ceiling that stretched high above their heads. There was a variety of tunnels to choose from, but Fanged couldn’t see any conventional rooms or doors. She wondered how they would be incorporated in this them. Minnow squirmed, clearly wanting to be free to explore for herself.
“Stay still. I’ll let you go soon, but first we need to check that it’s safe.”
She scanned the room, keeping her senses open for any sign of danger. She could generally tell when something was amiss, but the mansion felt calm for now. She set Minnow down allowing her to have a certain amount of freedom.

Fanged didn’t know what had compelled her to purchase Minnow. It had been like an impulse, one that she wasn’t used to having. She didn’t regret things at all. The kitten like creature was awfully cute and came equipped with an adorable bow. The cuteness was overwhelming and she was attached to the creature already.
“Keep safe, Minnow.” She whispered to her new pet.
The Tailypo blinked up at her with adoring eyes. Though the promise to avoid trouble was clear, Fanged suspected that the creature wasn’t being entirely truthful. She sighed and turned to explore the cavern. There were three paths to choose from and all three looked vastly different from each other. Minnow darted away from her heading down the path of her choosing. Fanged chased after her not surprised in the slightest by the kitten’s troublesome attitude.
“You’re going to be a handful. I could tell the moment I first met you.”

She followed Minnow down the tunnel, surprised to see that it was more like a hallway than she had anticipated. One closer inspection, she could see that the walls were formed of stone, but they were clearly shaped like a hallway.
“Don’t move too quickly! We need to be prepared for all kinds of outcomes!”
She thought that if Minnow could speak, the kitten might have taunted her. She wasn’t malicious in her teasing, but she still didn’t listen to Fanged! Her personality was a change from her other pets. However, that managed to endear Minnow to her further. She might need additional training, but the challenge she presented was enticing to Fanged.
“Your cunning nature will do well in our hunt for treasure. We’ll need to find more since I sold my hoard of pocketpets.”
Pocketpets were always a good thing to find. Individually, each one from the mansion were worth 40 credits.

It didn’t take them long to come across their first, proper room. Minnow scratched eagerly at the door that stood before them. The demand was clear for Fanged to let her in.
“Alright I’ll be there in a moment.” She laughed at the kitten’s impatience.
She leaned close and grabbed the golden handle of the door. It twisted downwards and opened swiftly. Minnow darted in before Fanged could even blink. She frowned and chased after the Tailypo. She hoped the mansion wouldn’t throw anything too dangerous at them. After all, she was here with just a small kitten. They would be unable to fight off anything stronger than them and she assumed that most creatures would be stronger.
“I can tell that training you ‘no’ is going to be a huge hassle!” She commented.
Minnow had a mischievous glint in her eyes as she stalked over towards Fanged. She paused for a moment and then pounced on her foot.

Despite your tailypo's antics, it looks as if they're helping you out- you probably wouldn't have spotted these without it "helping"!

For a moment, Fanged was distracted by Minnow batting at her shoelaces with tiny paws. The playful kitten was extremely cute and she found it difficult to refrain from indulging in her antics. When the creature had finished playing, Fanged’s attention became fixed on a few strange objects in the room. The first object looked to be a strange little contraption. She didn’t quite know what it was, but something told her to keep her fingers away from it. She slipped the object carefully into her bag, placing the lantern found next to it inside as well. When she finished the task, she turned back to Minnow.
“Well it’s a good start. Thank you for helping me find the little treasures.” She smiled down at the critter.
Now that she had found something of interest, there was less pressure to find anything else hidden away within the room. She could take her time exploring, but she’d be able to leave whenever she wanted to.

She had grown attached to Minnow quickly. The little kitten like critter had won her over by reminding her of Rusty. She had a fondness for the helpless pets, taking on the role of a protector. Fanged took a leisurely pace as she decided to take a look around the rest of the room. The ceiling was far above their heads. She would never come even remotely close to touching it.
“At least one cannot be claustrophobic in such a space.” She remarked.
Even if Minnow wasn’t fond of small spaces, one could hardly call this a small space. The Tailypo was content to run around, chasing after beams of light that reflected down from the crystals serving as a light source. A greedier person might have tried to take the crystals, but Fanged presumed that they would have measures in place to prevent such a thing. It was usually obvious what the mansion offered in terms of treasure.

There was a strange assortment of furniture in the room as well. All of it appeared to be crafted from crystal. In her opinion, it seemed like it would be a rather difficult material to work with. She moved closer to what she presumed to be a couch. Curiosity got the best of her and she plopped down on top of it. Minnow raised her head at the noise and rushed over to join the woman. She reached up with her paws and batted them against Fanged’s legs as she demanded to be lifted up.
“Alright, alright I’ll lift you up.” She leaned down and picked up the baby creature.
Rather than settling down on the couch, Minnow pranced across the piece of furniture. She skittered this way and that, moving quickly on clumsy paws.
“You’re feeling rather energetic, aren’t you?” She teased the Tailypo.
Minnow kept her gaze fixed on the bouncing lights.

They sat for a short while. Fanged was testing out the comfortability of the furniture over anything else. It was comfier than she expected. On closer inspection the surface of the couch was made with some sort of fabric that she had never seen before. The item was curious, but she didn’t want to dwell on it for too long. There was still the rest of the room to explore. Minnow required assistance getting down to the floor and Fanged was happy to help her.
“Alright, let’s get a move on. First, we’ll finish up exploring this room though.” Having a plan of action always made Fanged feel more confident.
Minnow was quite easily distracted by shiny objects. She pawed at the crystals embedded on the edge of the couch, trying to break them free. The baby was much to weak to ever accomplish such a feat. Fanged was fairly certain even she’d be unable to loosen them.

Maybe if she had her mining tools, she be able to accomplish something like that. But those tools were cumbersome to drag around. She certainly didn’t want to take them places where she wouldn’t be doing any mining. Before long, Minnow was distracted once more by the glitter of crystals. Fanged scanned the room, following the refracted light that bounced across the room forming tiny rainbows. She looked up, noticing now that there were crystals hanging from the ceiling. It reminded her of a chandelier, but they weren’t the source of the light. Instead, the light source was a separate set of glowing crystals embedded in the wall.
“Impressive craftsmanship. It’s amazing that the mansion is capable of creating such a room.”
Minnow bounced closer to her as Fanged spoke. She blinked up at the woman with wide eyes, begging her for affection. The woman crouched down and gave the small critter some scratches behind the ears.

June Fanged and Minnow hadn’t made it very far through the mansion last month, but it had been a fun experience. She has returned this month with the tiny Tailypo eager to explore the area once again. This time, Fanged had brought some cooked fish along in case she got an opportunity to train the creature. However, that was contingent on finding an area appropriate to train as well as how well Minnow would be able to focus. She would keep an eye out for a nice area, but she could always take Minnow to the park if she needed to. She just thought that getting some training done here might be fun. “Are you ready to go?” She asked the small kittenoid that was currently by her feet. Minnow darted forward, climbing up the front steps to the mansion. Fanged took that as permission to get started on their adventure. She joined Minnow at the top of the steps. (Minnow 2 1/5, 9 1/5) 1

She yanked open the front door, going first before Minnow in case there was anything dangerous around. The first room they entered was rather small. Fanged didn’t mind as it gave them some time to prepare for what was up ahead. To her surprise, the carpeting had been replaced by a lush layer of grass. For some reason it felt rather fitting for the mansion. Minnow didn’t pay particular attention to the grass. Instead, she had found the door and began scratching at it.
“I wonder if the rest of the mansion will feel just as outdoorsy?” She spoke aloud.
Minnow continued to scratch at the door, waiting for Fanged to open it. The woman obliged, though she stuck her foot out to prevent her pet from darting through blindly. She pressed one hand against her Tailypo’s back before stepping through the door. Once it was safe, she allowed Minnow to join her.
“At least this room is much bigger.”

Fanged wasn’t even sure if this room had a ceiling. If she didn’t know better, she might have assumed it was the sky lurking overhead. However, if she looked close enough, she could see the sharp edges of the ceiling as it met the walls of the room. Even though it was still enclosed, Fanged felt rather small in the vast room. In comparison, Minnow appeared even more miniscule. She took the time to watch the Tailypo closely, curious about what her next actions would be. The small creature trotted forward with a mischievous look on her face. She paused and crouched down with her belly grazing against the ground. She clumsily stalked forward working on instinct alone to get the movements down. She then began drifting to the right, her attention captured by something. Fanged followed her gaze frowning when she couldn’t track down what they Tailypo was looking at.

Before Fanged could figure out what Minnow was looking for, the small creature darted forward, and lashed out with tiny paws. The attack was mostly ineffective and completely adorable. As she approached, she could finally figure out what Minnow was playing with. On closer inspection, she realized that Minnow had gotten her paws on a small, black beetle. It was so tiny that it was hardly distinguishable against the floor. Fanged could only spot it due to the Tailypo’s continuous attack against the poor insect.
“Well it will probably end up dying quickly anyway. I don’t think insects are meant to last very long in this world.” She remarked.
Before long, the insect managed to scuttle away, safe for another day. With her prize gone, Minnow looked up at Fanged with wide, questioning eyes.
“I can’t bring the beetle back for you. I can hardly see the thing. You’ll have to move on.”
