There was only so much Renathan could do really to keep his jaw from metaphorically hitting the grass in the yard. The entire building was made up of marble, and twisted skyward, tall like towards in some areas, with stairs going around and around in circles around it. A grand garden was in the yard, and the trees are all twisted in similar shapes, more like wooden whirlwinds than trees perhaps. Renathan couldn't help but stare at the sight, holding his backpack against his back with a hand on the strap. He felt a little nervous all of a sudden, it almost looked like a castle really, and he couldn't believe at all to see something like this, this grand, in the town. Were the steps for non-avian benefit, or what? Renathan gently stepped onto the grass, feeling a little anxious to just walk up to the door and what, knock or something?

Renathan didn't feel comfortable knocking on anyone's door, though that was apparently the way the people in the city tended to request interest in being let in someone else's abode. Perhaps that is the case anyway? Renathan wasn't too sure, but he was learning more and more about the Labs City in Pethia every single day it would seem. He took the paper out of his pocket, opened it, and then folded it and placed it in his pouch again, before continuing on and then came over to the door. Ah, he figured that having the paper would help somehow. Renathan pulled the paper out, and began unfolding it just as the door opened. He immediately smiled, cheezing beneath the mask, even though the individual couldn't see it. "I uh, I am here for the quest?" He said, feeling a little dumb already. He held up the piece of paper between two fingers.

Another gust of wind knocked the paper loose, this time to take it away forever. Hopefully the person on the other side of the door knows what you're talking about.

Renathan turned his head in a flash, watching the piece of paper flutter away. Well, Renathan thought, that was that. He felt bad for littering, but it was flying so high that there was no way that he was going to be able to go get it and all. Renathan put his leathery palm on the back of his neck and rubbed quietly. "Well uh, sorry for that, but are you still looking for someone to spend the night huh?" Renathan said, grinning beneath the mask quietly. He hoped that they still needed that slot filled so that he could spend the night. He'd hate to make that long walk without at least having tried to do the quest. The avian stood there, looking particularly owlish, and then seemed to understand what was going on. 'Of course! I'll show you there.' He said, and then stepped through the door beyond Renathan.

Renathan had been going a bit slow with this one, if only because it was a strange request. What kind of a creature would be stealing art supplies, or something of that nature, tools from a shed? No animal would have the desire for tools over food. Why not break into the home to steal food, if one was a creature? Renathan really didn't want to have a run in with a humanoid individual, but it was starting to look like it was a humanoid that might be harassing this poor individual and stealing these tools. Renathan frowned beneath the mask where it could not be seen, and then followed after the avian that walked past him, shutting the door behind him amicably. "Sounds great. Also, let me know where it is okay to set up my tent." Renathan kept his voice light and amicable, though he was super worried.

Renathan followed, his tails pushed against the grass on the yard, sweeping a few leaves out of the way and making a little more noise than he would like. After a little bit, the pair were walking across the yard, with the avian speaking every now and again about the issue. 'Of course of course, We do have a place that would be excellent for a small tent. We have another for a large tent, but it is just you here, right?' Renathan nodded. "Yes, just me." He answered, quite happily. 'Good good, let us know if there is anything that can't be simply shooed away. My apologies that this has to be done, but my wife is terrified of the situation, and I'm not the strongest.' Renathan quickly looked over him just once as they continued on, judging the veracity of that statement. It was very possible that this was one of those avians that had hollow bones.

Renathan didn't want to try to prove that thought of course, but he was always as aware of his surroundings as he could be, save for when he was completely absorbed in thinking about overwhelming things, at the very least. The pair walked across the yard, their feet against the soft grass, or rather, Renathan's paw pads and the avian's talons. The garden was absolutely beautiful, and even had very strange things planted in it that Renathan had never before seen. He couldn't help but gawk a little, it was a stunning little garden. He would never be able to get his garden looking quite this good, or at least that was what he was sure of. 'Here we are.' The avian said, his feathers fluffing up and then smoothing back down yet again. Renathan could see the little workspace up ahead. It was a cute little building compared to the living quarters behind them.

Yes indeed, the living quarters made of it's pale marble beyond, is quite a beautiful house indeed. This smaller workshop was still affluent in it's appearance, and quite beautiful. The siding was pale yellow, and the windows were shielded in lace curtains. Renathan smiled beneath the mask at it, it was quite a pretty little house. "What a pretty little house." Renathan said, nodding towards it. The avian made a slight trilling noise, as if he was chuckling. Renathan watched the avian as he fluffed his feathers in preparation for something and then slicked them back down. Then the avian walked right up to the stone steps and knocked on the quaint little front door lightly. 'Dearie, please open up for us, someone has come for our quest.' He said, his voice trilling. Renathan hung back a little bit, not wanting to get in the way between these two.

He didn't exactly feel all that great, but he was ready to get this done the best he could and all. He hung back and stayed quiet as they stood in front of the doors, and they didn't open for a good long while. After waiting a bit, a long bit, Renathan did notice that the door finally had someone come to it, and the doorknob turned. He glanced down and away from the couple as they embraced for a moment, and then glanced back up when they turned to look at him, he could tell from the edges of his sight. 'Well, who do you have here honey?' She said to the man, her plumage bright in comparison to his ashen feathers. 'This is the fellow that wanted to watch the workshop this evening after you are done, to see the intruder and how they are getting in.' He explained.

Renathan nodded at the man's words, and then looked through the window quietly at the lacey curtains beyond. The tiny place was pretty, sitting in the middle of the garden quietly as it was. "Yes, I've brought a tent, and I'll be setting up nearby to see what kind of animal is getting into this workshop... Or maybe a person, I've got my bets on a person since animals don't typically feel the need to steal tools." Renathan thought for a moment as the man chuckled, his feathers ruffled again. "Oh, what sort of work do y'all do here, miss..." He realized he had no idea what their names were! Woops! The female spoke, this time. 'Our family name is Oole.' She said, simply. "Yes, Mr. and Mrs. Oole." He said, having learned his common decently at this point. "What sort of tools do you keep? This might help my ability to ascertain what we are dealing with here." He said.

After he asked, the pair looked at one another, with love in their eyes for each other, and then turned back and looked towards the building. 'Yes yes, come right in.' They said, and for the first time for a long time, Renathan felt a little nervous. Why not just tell them why this was a thing? Why not tell him instead of show him? Renathan wasn't sure if he wanted to know that badly, now. He stepped forward anyway as the pair opened the door and then stepped inside. He was anxious as he walked up those cool and smooth steps into the little work space. Renathan saw nothing but darkness at first, but then the light was flicked on as they began to go further into the room. The lady spun, her arms raised. The entire work space was filled with wood, various carving implements, and even wood-burning tools and other such things.

Nothing could go wrong in another person's place, right? Still though, the tools look expensive, best not to run into them in case you knock them off and break them.

Renathan was baffled, to say the least. Sure, he had a lot of tools himself. Renathan was also an artisan, and from the looks of it, just a little bit better of one when it came to sheer technique. However, the avian's style was beautiful and charming, nothing at all like Renathan's rather utilitarian designs, so Renathan was entranced more by the sculptures behind her, and not at all on the tools themselves. Heck, her woodburning was just gorgeous. Renathan looked almost TOO excited, ready to dance maybe, and instead kept his body still, simply letting it spill out on his face where no one would ever be able to see beyond his mask. "These are wonderful! You have so much skill!" He couldn't help but praise, and step forward gently on his toes, making sure not to knock anything off. Both avians looked excited that he loved it.

The female avian was proud, Renathan could tell by the way she ruffled up her feathers, and held her hands in front of her face. Still, he nearly floated past her, and then stopped in front of a currently in progress half-sculpture, half-wood burned masterpiece. "How beautiful, you really have the woodburning down, and your technique with the wood is so smooth." He didn't touch it, of course, but he put his hand on the bottom of his chin, smiling under the mask as he surveyed it. 'Oh, that ole thing?' She said, waving her hand at him. 'It isn't even done dearie, why don't I show you some of the ones I have done?' She said, looking amused. Her husband came over as well, her holding his hand and pulling him along. Renathan turned towards them, careful as possible in their little workshop. He knew he had to be careful.

Renathan would never think of running in someone's workshop, and he hardly really ran anyway most of the time. He always had somewhere to be, and when he did, he typically walked there. However, it was nice to see someone else's work for once, and be able to appreciate them. He didn't touch any of the tools, and then carefully followed the pair as they went past him, giving one last look at that pretty unfinished piece. He always felt like looking at someone's unfinished pieces helped him understand their process more, and he still loved it anyway. However, it made sense for her to want to show him her finished pieces, and as long as the couple was happy, he didn't mind waiting a bit to set up his tent outside. It was still a few hours until dark, anyway. Or maybe two, he thought so at this stage anyway.
