Asuka considered this. She might have a way out, if she didn't want to be here anymore, and Ashe wouldn't be able to stop her even if he wanted to. Time passed differently for a Tat-Lung and a human, that was just facts. Even so, ten minutes wouldn't kill her, and she might have fun trying new things... She made her decision and drew herself up, head high and arched, regally, confidence flowing into each of her limbs as she carried herself inside. Her back was at Ashe's stomach, and she was very long, causing the man to step back and give her some room. The next time he looked, the hallway looked wider than it had been before. Didn't it usually work in the opposite fashion? A large form moves through and the passageway seems to shrink? Thankfully this was not the case this time around. Ashe shut the door behind him even though he doubted it would make a difference ultimately.
Quickly, he caught up to the tat-lung, who appeared to have decided that she would be the one to explore this place. Like it was her idea, and not Ashe's. He was fine to let her think that way. "So, here we are again," He murmured softly to the demon on his shoulder. Inyala nodded and rubbed her hands together.

Asuka walked down the hall, her movements slow, powerful, deliberate. If she was going to be here, she might as well make it her own, shouldn't she? She could feel the magic in the air, feel the tremble of it, and she soaked it all in. She may not be a creature of the magic itself, but she came from a proud line, and she would make the best of it. To do that, she needed to know her world and understand it. Exploring a place like this was an easy, obvious first step. Any shyness she had felt at first, she squashed down below and locked away. Ashe had seen the briefest touch of her emotions; it wouldn't happen again. She prowled into the first room, head up and alert, concentrating and listening. She was waiting for something to happen - but with excitement, not worry.
Ashe soon caught up with her, Inyala watching the dragon curiously. She didn't have much experience with the Tat-Lungs, except feeding their fish forms, so the fact that one was out here with them was strange and awe inspiring. Inyala seemed to like Asuka - though it could just be the shiny fur and scales adorning her lithe form. Or maybe the pair spoke to one another on a magical level Ashe couldn't reach.

The first room they entered was quiet. Peaceful. It looked like a normal room, sort of like a living room with minimal furniture. Asuka observed it all, taking it in. She did not want to be inside a house, yet here she was, and the magic Ashe had promised her wasn't happening yet. The thing about tat lungs, though, was that they could be patient. Could be. They had all the time in the world to wait on things happening. Alas, they could also be impatient, and Asuka leaned more toward the impatient spectrum. She let out a low rumble as she prowled around the room, looking for anything of interest. Ashe and Inyala joined her in the room and looked around, too. Inyala even hopped off her master's shoulder and explored the nooks and crannies of the room, moving books and pillows to see if anything had been hidden behind. She didn't find anything, but there was a sudden hum that started up, filling the room. Ashe snapped to attention, listening closely to try and see where it was coming from. He couldn't figure it out himself! Inyala and Asuka seemed to have the same reaction at the same time, and neither knew where to look.

BOOM!
The sound was so sudden and so loud, Inyala dove under a pillow, and Asuke flattened herself against the ground. The sound shook the room, rattling anything that was standing on a flat surface and nearly sending Ashe tumbling to the ground on his butt. He caught himself by grabbing the wooden arm of the couch and steadied his feet. What the hell?
Feeling a sense of vertigo, when Ashe looked up the ceiling was stretching far above them, distorted and twisted as the mansion compensated for the dimensional differences.
POP! The firework exploded, sending flashes of light of many colors in multiple different directions. It was blinding, and chaotic, and thrilling, and Ashe's body was still humming with the loud boom from the beginning. Asuka peered up at the firework exploding above, marveling at how high the ceiling must be as sparks rained down among the trio. She could have sworn the ceiling was a lot lower than that when she had entered the room, and decided it must be the magic Ashe had told her about. She pulled her legs under her and went from 'flattened' to 'laying down to watch the show' as if it had been her plan all along. Inyala was still hiding.

"Well, uh, there you have it, Asuka," Ashe said, gesturing at the dying firework in the air above them. It seemed to be hovering a little longer than most would outside, possibly the magic holding it together like an after image in here. "Stuff like that happens all the time here, with little to no explanation. Is that interesting enough for you?" Ashe went to the couch and picked up the pillow covering his Imp. Inyala looked up and out at him, made a greeting sound, and came out of her hiding place. It just startled me, is all, she seemed to say, and Ashe let it go without too much teasing. She was used to the silent mines with him, they'd been there a lot lately, so loud noises weren't that usual for them lately.
Ashe walked over to the Tat-Lung and stood near her. The firework had finally faded away, and the hiss was starting up again. "Here comes the next one... Kind of pretty, aren't they? Once you know what to expect." And just like that, he heard the WHOOSHing hiss, then the BOOM! and the POP! sounds. They were blinded again, this time by a red and blue burst that made it look like things were on fire.

They stayed there and watched another firework, but Ashe didn't see anything of interest in this room and they'd already enjoyed the wonder of the 'works, it was time to move on to the next thing. "Are you ready, Asuka?" Ashe asked, calling to Inyala. The Imp poofed! and appeared on his shoulder, a trick she'd picked up recently. He kind of liked it, though he also thought it was lazy. The best, most fun way to be lazy, but still. They were about to head for the door on the far side of the room from the door they'd entered through, but only if the majestic labs-born dragon was ready.
Asuka looked up when Ashe spoke and saw that Ashe and the demon were attempting to leave the room. That sounded like a good idea so she got to her feet, making a deer look clumsy, and slunk out of the room ahead of them. She decided to lead the way down the next hall and toward a series of doors. She paused, looking from door to door. She ended up choosing one, and pushed her head against it... But it was shut and needed to be opened. Hopefully not locked. Unfortunately, she was not in possession of thumbs.

Ashe saw the dilemma up ahead and stepped in before Asuka got frustrated and did something like set the door on fire. Ashe knew she was capable of it and didn't think they needed to set the Mansion on fire to have a good time. Though, perhaps, the Mansion would know what to do if it caught fire and put it out - it did have those fireworks going off in a room inside the building, after all. It couldn't be that risky. "Here, let me get that for you," Ashe said, feeling slightly odd at being so polite to a creature made in the Labs. Of course, Tat-lungs were almost natural servants, almost like Inyala, only... Not quite. He didn't understand the dynamics, just that the Jades were true, and these were seen as mockeries in some parts of the world. Which was sad; it wasn't their fault, and they were still more than worth it.
Ashe's fingers turned the knob and Asuka pushed the door open before he could. She slipped on in, her tail waving behind her, and she was gone into the void. Ashe and Inyala walked in behind her, the door shutting behind them, seemingly on its own. The room turned out to be akin to a grassy clear patch, in the middle of the forest... The hell?

When Ashe shut the door behind them - which melted into the wall and became a grove of trees just out of Ashe's reach at all times - he saw that Asuka had wasted no time and was currently flying around through the air, chasing something. Ashe stood and watched her, wondering what in the world she'd found now and why did it go find her instead of him, and quickly realized it was a firefly. The little lightning bug was lighting up, which appeared to dazzle the Tat-lung. Something tugged at the edge of his mind, a memory, and then the fog cleared - oh yeah, Tat Lung liked shiny things, which was why something like a bug held her attention. The bug lit up, dimmed, and lit up again, enticing the chase. Asuka almost caught it twice, and Ashe was pretty sure she could add a burst of speed at any time to get the job done. She seemed to be having fun, though, and kept just far enough back to keep the chase going.
Inyala was drawn to something else. She left her master and went to investigate. Picking the Imp over the cartwheeling Tat-Lung, Ashe followed Inyala and spied a little fire, not seeming to be burning anything. At least, not consuming.

Asuka was enjoying herself, flying around in the clearing, encircled by trees. She didn't even have to worry about crashing into any of them! They never seemed to get any closer even when she went toward them. It was weird, but not weird enough for her to think about at the moment. She chased the firefly this way, then that way, then did a loop through the sky and rolled to the left and chased it some more. Sometimes it seemed like it was different colors, like it was changing color as it went, every time it made her do one of her (impressive, if she were to say so herself) barrel rolls. Were there more than one? That would be a welcome treat! But she never got to see two (or more) together at the same time. How strange.
Inyala scooped up the little ball of flame and held it in her hands. She passed it from one palm to the other, feeling it and testing it out. She liked fire, especially little embers like this, and didn't seem too bothered by heat or burning sensations. Ashe should be surprised, but he wasn't. Leave it to his Imp to find something cool like that. The colors were weird, too - in Ashe's opinion, cooler.

Inyala played with the ball of fire some more, amusing herself. It wasn't the same color as hers, after all, and while not much was happening - that interested her, anyway; they were here for Ashe's treasure hunt - this would hold her over. But she became bored quickly enough with it and - poof- it disappeared! Ashe wasn't sure what exactly she did with it, though he trusted she didn't get rid of it. She would probably wake him up one day, tossing a ball of flame over his head... she hadn't been up to any of her tricks lately. That didn't mean she wouldn't start back up again, though.
Asuka flew back to Ashe, feeling a sort of kinship to the human she was here on a journey with. When she landed, she rested on her hind legs and tail, poised, holding out her clawed hands. Slowly, she opened them to show Ashe what she'd gathered. Two fireflies sat there, a little stunned from the catch. Ashe smiled and quickly took them, stowing them away in a jar. He liked the light they gave off, but also recognized tokens. Sometimes you could make an offering of similar things, and get something bigger. He was pretty sure these were like those shells.

For the next task... They would have to find a door leading to the next room. The woods seemed to have grown a bit thicker, the longer they stayed here, and Ashe found himself wondering if they had been transported outside somehow and were wandering the grounds out there. He didn't remember seeing a wooded area, though he could be mistaken... And the magic controlled what he saw, anyway, didn't it? He couldn't trust his eyes, or his senses. He was adept at seeking out magical things if they were close by now, and with this entire place being magical, he wasn't sure how affected he would be.
"Let's look for a way out," Ashe suggested to Inyala. "I mean, onto the next place to explore. Or, you know, find something cool here." Ashe shrugged. He wasn't picky, but he wanted to get moving around, so he started walking, with Inyala keeping pace on the ground.
Asuka joined him, seeming to be of the same mind. It was strange, being in a place like this, with a human she liked but barely knew. Human things were strange indeed, and as far as she was concerned, this was nothing but a walk through the park in the middle of a city. Something different and new, but not really meaningful.

Together they walked into the trees on the other side of the clearing. Asuka slunk away into the shade, deciding to look around for herself. While it wasn't anything that meant anything to her in particular, she was eager and willing to explore every nook and cranny, in case there was something valuable and shiny there. Ashe wished, and not for the first time, that he could speak to her with ease like he could some other creatures. he didn't know what exactly to do with a creature as smart, or smarter, than he was, that he couldn't talk to. Imagine having a mute child that does whatever they want because you don't have rules set up. What rules could he set up for a Tat-Lung? Go potty in the toilet? Sleep in the bed of blankets I made you? Eat the food I give you or no dessert? No. Magical dragons weren't the same.
Inyala was easier to figure out. Despite her trickery, and her version of fun sometimes, she was a little child that could communicate specially with him. Their bond filled in the gaps. He smiled as he found himself gazing down at the little blue imp, creeping along the ground between bushes.

A sudden flash of light caught Ashe's eye. He looked over in time to see something purple shooting through the air, throwing sparks in its wake. It was so blindingly bright that it left an after image in front of his eyes even when the shade darkened again. He blinked, shook his head, and blinked some more, then turned to see where it had gone. He followed in the direction he thought he remembered seeing it heading, only to have it zoom back over his head going in the other direction. "What the-?" That shouldn't be possible. Shooting in one direction, maybe, if someone or something manually shot it. but wizzing back around on its own? Inyala stood upright, watching it go, blinking rapidly and rubbing her eyes. So bright!
Asuka was on the trail of another firefly. She seemed to have decided it was going to be her job, her mission, to collect these little buggers. She liked them mostly because they fled from her, but also because they shined brightly, almost like a gem but without the sparkle. And if Ashe was collecting these in a jar, it would be helpful to have more. And also more fun to watch them shine, she figured. And just her luck, another one had shown itself!
