 | | Zira (Zeer-uh) | Akyum (Ae-kee-uhm) |
Breed: Zeni Gender: Female Loyalty: 15 | Level: 12
Special Abilities: Light Immunity, Shadow Weakness, Fly, Magical Moves: Horn-Strike, Holy Shield, Heal

| Zira is a delicate little thing, in mind and spirit. She's always been smaller than the other Malii. She was coddled and over protected when she was a baby. Because of this she doesn't have a lot of self confidence. She always looks to her human for support and conformation that she is doing what is right. Zira always seems to worry that she's not doing something right. She second guesses herself every time there is a choice to make and even second guesses herself when responding to orders given by her human. "Is this what he wants? Should I do it in this way?" She's not frail, physically, but she doesn't have the confidence in herself to back up her strength. She trusts Akyum with her life and looks to him for reassurance that she does things properly. If Riku isn't around she'll look to Akyum for support and if both Riku and Akyum are there she's torn between the two. Which should she ask for help? Which one should she trust the most? | Akyum hates change, with a passion. In fact, given his choice he'd have stayed small forever, but alas he was forced to grow again. He's authoritative and controlling, trying to take over anything he can. In retrospect Zira and Akyum are a good match. She's unsure of herself and Akyum has so much confidence that he makes up for what she lacks. He says something once and is so sure of himself that his mate takes it as truth, in fact a lot of Malii in the Kennels do. It seems that he's almost a leader in the Malii section of the kennels. He has high self esteem and tends to hyper focus on things that interest him. Riku, however, is supposedly "in charge" of this Malii, which is an issue with Akyum because he feels the need to resist while also understanding why he shouldn't. | Social Info here | Social Info here |

Breed: Fire Gender: Male Loyalty: 6 | Level: 3

Special Abilities: Danger Sense, Speak, Magical Moves: Horn-Strike, Spook, Foxfire, Claw, Levitate | Description | Being the "bad boy" doesn't make you the "cool" kid in the kennel - it's quite the opposite. Chance is one of the only malii considered sentient in the bunch, and with that comes his ability to foresee ways to dupe the others. He is smarter than them, and everyone knows it, and he uses it to scare the other pets...all of them. He can't help it, it's in his nature! He is half light and half dark, and therefore is in that tricky grey-area in the elemental zone. And with his sentience he gained the ability to communicate advanced languages...but since he was never taught to speak, he can only understand what is being said, and can't reply. Chance is just that kid that's different from everyone else...He will always be loved by everyone else for his intellect and sense of humor, but he will never fit in. | Social Info here | Social Info here |
----- | | Daniel (Dah-nyehl) | Rein (Raen) |

| Breed: Raincloud Gender: Female Loyalty: 10 | Level: 0
Special Abilities: Water / Light Res., Fly, Magical Moves: Horn-Strike, Call the Rains, Rainbow
| Daniel separates himself from the other malii in the kennel because he has this sort of permanent depression going on. It's not that he doesn't appreciate life, but he just...doesn't see the point of being so happy about it. Where Rein would be more gloomy, Daniel would be grouchy. Where Rein would be passive, Daniel would be aggressive. He isn't a malii to be messed with, as he has three elements that he can play with, and he isn't afraid to nip at the others if they invade his bubble - or cloud. (Ha!) Though the fact that his genes can't even make their mind on an element also frustrates him. His eyes are also a different color, and not only is he missing any type of wings but he also lacks fire and magic...He may as well not be a malii! He can't fly. He can't levitate. He can't cast spells to save his life - literally, since the other malii discover spells when they almost die and the spell saves them. Although he does not have ethereal flames spouting from his paws, he does have different effects based on his mood. When he is sad his paws get wet and tiny puddles form wherever he walks. When he is frustrated, confused, or scared, the light an inch or two from his fur seems to bend or fade, giving him strange shady appearance. When he is angry his fur generate static electricity, and anyone who touches him regrets it. The only time that Daniel ever isn't filled with some negative emotion is when a rainbow is out - then he's quite the opposite. | Rein separates herself from the other malii in the kennel because she has this sort of permanent depression going on. It's not that she doesn't appreciate life, but she just...doesn't see the point of being so happy about it. Where Daniel would be more grouchy, Rein would be gloomy. Where Daniel would be aggressive, Rein would be passive. And although she would usually do her best to avoid confrontation, she isn't about to be pushed around by the other malii. She's perfectly willing to give them a good nip of her powers if they refuse to leave her alone. Rein looks to Daniel a lot, as he seems to be the only other malii in the kennel who understands her - and the only one with whom she'll let herself be bullied. She understands that he lets his frustrations out in anger instead of sadness. Therefore if she ever is in the mood to not be alone for a while, she goes to him - though he would never go to her, as he would never admit that he appreciates the company of anyone. The only time that Rein ever isn't filled with some negative emotion is when a rainbow is out - then she's quite the opposite. | Social Info here | Social Info here |

 | | Genesis (Geh-nuh-sihs) | Revelation (reh-vuh-Lae-shuhn) |
Breed: Spirit of Heaven Gender: Female Loyalty: 10 | Level: 0
Special Abilities: Light Immunity, Shadow Weakness, Fly, Magical Moves: Horn-Strike, Holy Shield, Heal, Sun From The Heavens
| Breed: Heaven's Shine Gender: Male Loyalty: 50 | Level: 20
Special Abilities: Light Immunity, Shadow Weakness, Enigmatic, Empathetic Link Moves: Horn-Strike, Holy Shield, Heal, Sun From The Heavens
| Genesis has a irritation with the fact that she is a mixture of feathers and fur. Instead of just keeping her fur kept, she has the task of making sure each feather zips into the next one. She doesn't have a beak, so this arduous task takes forever. With her master hanging over her like some sort of deranged owl, always admiring, she is frequent to smack him away with a paw, her wings kept flat to her back as much as possible, which isn't easy with how the bones are situated. The ribbon she is said to wear hangs loose, with no connection presently, as she has a very hard time keeping a lid on her temper around her spazbucket of a master. Fiery and rather difficult to get along with, she does not appreciate individuals with energy to spare. The malii who have managed to leave the kennel with new owners, she's jealous of. They have the chance of seeing the world, whereas she's stuck, unable to leave for more then a few minutes to walk across the kennel and back. Especially admirers, whom she hates with a passion that refuse to leave her alone. Its hard enough to groom in peace, for crying out loud! | Revelation is perfectly happy with being Master's favorite, but he does enjoy his privacy when he's not following him around like a doting, multi-tailed puppy. The others in the kennel make fun of him behind his back for how much Master dotes on just him, punting him out to be a loner of sorts. It mildly bothers him, but never enough to 'run to Master' for it. His coat is kept in pristine condition, for all the times he ends up accompanying his human, and it has an odd glimmer about it, that can even be seen in daylight, faintly. He does harbor a spot of unhappiness that when he went to the graveyard with Master and got injured, it was another human who took him to the healer, after months of lying in the kennel in agony. He figures that his master is one who runs at first sign of danger, leaving him to fend for himself. The feeling is not mutual, as they are incredibly closely tied. He's none too active, preferring to watch the rest of the 'farm stock' romp around, and wreck their home. After all, who would want to interact with those who hated you when you had the most posh pen of the entire kennel? He refers to Riku as Master and will never call him anything else, no matter how many times Riku asks him to call him "Just Riku" his response will always be "Yes, Master". Because he see's Riku as that, yes he might be a companion, but he is a master, He will always be Master. | Social Info here | Social Info here |

| Pyre is a frustrated Malii. He both wants to be alone and wants attention. Not even he can explain why he feels such emotions. He hates that he's never actually paid attention too, except for one time, to go mining with his owner. He doesn't even know if he has a name or not... No one has actually taken the time to learn and understand the Malii behind the fur. He keeps himself hidden away as best he can, he gets sick and tired of the attention of all the pets and even Riku himself. It feels... false to him. All the 'love' all the 'attention'. What he wants is one on one contact with his owner, but he doesn't know how to convey this so he goes around destroying the kennel when his emotions become too pent up, and his paw-flares burn even hotter than usual. Yet when Riku takes Pyre out to play or work with him Pyre is unresponsive, almost angry with his owner. Why should he pay attention to the person who doesn't even pay him attention? He's grown hardened and created a shell to protect himself from the world. Inside that shell is a scared child who is a bundle of confused emotions. It might take more than just his owner to break through to him. He also doesn't use his RoT other than to scoff at anything Riku says, since he dislikes it. He sometimes slips a word or two through it, unknowingly, but mainly refuses to talk to Riku in a way of "You won't play with me, then I'm not talking to you." | The underground seems to interest Zarella more then anything. For some reason, she gets a kick out of firing a bout of freezing air down the nearest gopher hole and watching the fun as the creature flees upwards towards warmth, into her waiting jaws. Curiosity killed the cat, but hasn't had its bad luck effect on this cold oriented creature. Zarella's very...ditsy, with not much brains behind that gleaming black and blue coat. Probably why she's not able to be kept around Pyre too much even though the two are united by offspring. Active and curious, she's always getting UNDER something. Whether its the throw rug, or under an equillion drawn buggy, or under the warehouse where all the kennels are... she'll find interest in it. It took two days to coax her out the last time her master had discovered Zarella had escaped through the vent shaft in the wall to find her exploring under the warehouse building. Luckily, if she's exploring someplace, there's always a crust of ice at the entrance, since her paw-flares get much colder when she gets excited. If she finds something that interests her, and it moves, like... a bug, she'll follow that bug for hours on end, no matter where it is and with no care for her own saftey. The bug flies off of a cliff? Well let's just say she'll try to follow it, but she wouldn't be flying, she'd be falling. She doesn't listen to Master, as he seems to only have eyes for Revelation, and despite her ditsiness, she can see it clearly. No wonder he hardly ever pays anyone else attention. | Social Info | Social Info |

Special Abilities: Light Immunity, Shadow Weakness, Fly, Enigmatic Moves: Horn-Strike, Holy Shield, Heal, Sun From The Heavens | Breed: Child of Frost-Fire Gender: Male Loyalty: 5 | Level: 0
Special Abilities: Fire Immunity, Ice Immunity, Magical Moves: Flame Bite, Icicle Beam, Breathe Fire, Breathe Frost | Cameron is a Malii who aims to please. Unlike most of the other Malii in the kennel, he does not hate his human. He actually really likes him, and although he hasn't had much specific attention from the boy he looks forward to when he will. Cameron is extremely close with his father, Revelation, and - of course - his mother. Revelation is a sort of outcast, and Cameron hears the other Malii mocking him when he isn't there, but he doesn't understand why. He loves his father and looks up to the Malii that he is, and will always only see the great in him. In fact, Cameron sees the great in everyone. What can I say? He's a lover, not a fighter...not that he wouldn't fight to protect the ones he loves. | Fire and ice are never supposed to mix, and Darakou is why. He's a fiery, hot tempered foul mouth one minute, a stoic, icy shoulder the next. Bipolar is a nice way of putting it. No one knows on when he'll switch from being perfectly calm to his RAGING personalities, but it seems to revolve around temperature for some reason or another. Unless its exactly 65 degrees in the kennel, Darakou flies off the handle almost every other hour. His bipolar 'fits' exhaust him, altering his sleep clock to being almost Narcoleptic, which means to fall asleep at any point, anywhere. The vets have no idea what went wrong in his head, but Darakou is kept away from the others, for fear of unleashing his dual elemental nature upon them. Probably the only reason Master decided to keep him was his parentage, not for his looks. When he does have his rare calm moments, he is sleeping almost the whole time. After all, one can't really have a mental breakdown while sleeping, right? | Social Info here | Social Info here |
----- | | Scarlet (Skawr-leht) | Laleia (luh-Lae-uh) |
Breed: Child of Light Gender: Female Loyalty: 45 | Level: 40
Special Abilities: Light Immunity, Shadow Weakness, Fly, Enigmatic Moves: Horn-Strike, Holy Shield, Heal, Sun From The Heavens
| Breed: Child of Frost-Fire Gender: Female Loyalty: 5 | Level: 0
Special Abilities: Ice Immunity, Fire Immunity, Magical Moves: Icicle Beam, Flame Bite, Breath of Winter, Breathe Fire
| Small packages contain infinite possibilities. Unlike most offspring, Scarlet possesses a 'rough and tumble' attitude from the moment she was released from the labs. The 'clingy, noisy, lovey' effect does not draw her as it would...say...a puppy. Although young, she likes her personal space, attacking objects that she believes have violated that space. Although she does not hate this clingy human that feeds her, his attitude clashes with hers, resulting in some discipline issues. As an adult, depending on the treatment she received as a kit, Scarlet could grow into the least magical of all, ignoring the blossoming light magic in her veins, or, become magically dangerous, random spurts exploding from her with a great deal of emotional turmoil, requiring being taught to control her magic, fast. | "If you call me Revelation one more time, that stick will go where you can't reach it!" Because of her near likeness to "Master's Pet", Laleia runs a very short temper at being called Revelation all the freakin' time. Her master must be blind, as HE is MALE, and SHE is FEMALE. Is it that freaking hard to tell the difference? No, because she intentionally takes dust baths, dulling her markings to make a significant difference. She gores anyone with her horn if her temper snaps, which is often. Claws won't do the job here, as without a scratching post, there isn't a very good chance on getting healthy nail growth. Pissy and unreasonable, Laleia keeps as far away from her double as possible, even from her parents, who in her opinion are her double's colored standins. If she's got the ribbon connected to her master and she's called Revelation, she frequently threatens him with mention of 'sticks in the behind', which will send him packing pretty damn quick to find his Pet who actually puts up with him. Laleia's hatred of Revelation stems to other things as well, is it black with white stripes? Hell is it white with black stripes? She hates it. She loathes it. She will either spit insults at it untill the poor creature runs from her or she will stonily ignore it. She's quite proficient in rude words, snarky comments and insults. Who knows where she learned them though, but she sure does use them all the time. She enjoys making life difficult for poor Riku. He serves her fish?"I WANT CHICKEN NOW HUMAN!" He gives her chicken? "I only eat fish." Will be her response. If the ribbon is connected to Riku you can bet that Laleia will shoot rude words and suggestions at him. She's difficult to work with and probably always will be, she enjoys making life difficult for those people around her. | Social Info here | Social Info here |

Riku pulled the large cart he had rented across town. It was like a red wagon he had played in when he was little, but much bigger and sort of rusty. And instead of toys, he had a bunch of decorations and some paperwork to bring where he was going. In his pocket he had an address, and he occasionally pulled it out to re-check where he was going. Past the shops, a few houses, a guild, it was somewhere in the mix. Thankfully it wasn’t too hot that day since pulling the cart was a workout. One Malii was loyally at his side, and the other was freely in the air above the buildings. The siblings were often together when they were younger, but had divided interests in their maturity. The female had spent much of her juvenile period training with Riku. The male was much more coddled by his mother in the house. Scarlet was like a warrior. Serious, and always on alert. She wasn’t the most prepared the battle - but she definitely was the most prepared in the kennel - not that she or her immediate bloodline stayed in the kennel. They were given the honor of living in Riku’s house with his family growing up.

2 Things were going to be different now, Riku had explained to them both. The two of them had always been ‘special’...and they knew it. Every Malii Riku had knew it! There was an obvious distinction between the two of them and the others. Some Malii had barely had any attention more than feedings and cleanings from Riku. Unfortunately, he had been stretched thin. They were moving into a new building. Scarlet wasn’t too picky, but she did have her standards of cleanliness and personal space. Hopefully she would still have those...and still feel special. She was a little concerned that she would fall out of Riku’s radar. She was his closest Malii...but before her, that role was filled by her father. Where was he now? Still living with them and appreciated - but old and simply looked after like any other common Malii. She looked up at Riku as they walked in front of the cart, then up at her brother. Cameron loved the feeling of the wind in his fur and feathers. Unlike his mother, he actually loved his wings. She had been the first of her species with feathers, and was extremely finicky about them. He, on the other hand, was a second generation feather-winged.

3 Learned to fly from his mother at a younger age, he had always loved it. In fact, he preferred to be in the air than on the ground. He flew everywhere when he had the chance - and for that reason, he generally disliked closed spaces like the mines. Being indoors didn’t bother, him, though, since he hd grown up in a house with his sister. He didn’t seem to notice the transition from outdoors to indoors. It was simply a habit to put his wings away by now - especially since he had been trained not to break decorations with them stretched out in the house! As they made their way, he observed the top of the buildings. He was more of a free-spirit, so while his sister constantly checked the area for threats, he simply enjoyed seeing what existed in his surrounding. He mostly let things be, but sometimes would get curious or playful with interesting things he’d see. Making sure to not lose his company, he closed his eyes on occasion and just felt the strong breeze at his altitude and speed. “It should just be around this corner...” Riku mumbled to himself, looking back down at the piece of paper with the address written on it.

4 “Here it is.” He said, seeing the familiar building he had petitioned for. It had been abandoned for quite some time, but owned by the city. He had already inspected the inside and was grateful to see that meant it was maintained rather well. There were no cobwebs or moldy carpets to deal with. He rustled in his pocket and pulled a key out and stuck it in the door. Turning it, he tried the knob. It worked and the hinge released. Without a creak, the door opened on its own an inch or two, and an exchange of air from outside to in was made with a slight whoosh. Riku took a deep breath and looked up, covering his eyes from the sun. “Cameron!” He called, and then reached down to slide his other hand down the back of his closer pet. He was anxious, but mostly excited. He hadn’t thought he’d own a shop like this. It was a new idea for him, but one that made a lot of sense! He had just gotten a new job as a professor at the local college, and thus had bought this old building-wedged-between-two with the signing bonus he hd gotten.

5 Cameron flew down and let his feet touch the ground near his sister. He lowered his head forward to sniff in curiosity. He wasn’t sure about this new ‘home’ they’d be sharing with the other Malii. He looked up at the outside as they walked in. The place seemed large but smaller than their last home. As they stepped in and Riku pulled in the cart with the rest of their stuff, he let out a sigh of relief. The movers had already come by and unloaded all of the larger furniture. They’d even set most of it up, other than a few boxes here and there he would organize. He still had work to do. Scarlet sniffed about, but didn’t stray too far. The place smelled less dusty than she had expected. It...didn’t seem like it would be too hard to call it home. Riku passed by the desk in the front room, checked in on the many other rooms on the first floor that would someday be for different services, and lastly his new office where he’d handle official paperwork and finances. Then the three of them made their way upstairs to where their actual home would be. Everything looked in order, so Riku grabbed the bell he had brought in the cart and placed it on the front desk. ....then removed it again. They were far from open!

6 New Month A few weeks after moving in, Riku had successfully painted the differently themed rooms. He had set the mirrors up in one, lining the entirety of three walls as a yoga and dance studio. The fourth wall was entirely made of glass, separate sheets that were connected with black painted metal. This let the natural light in very nicely and could be draped if too bright. Fortunately, the sun never directly shone through in that angle. There was a speaker in one corner, and the floor was a nice, smooth hardwood. It echoed pleasantly and had a clear air. Fans were installed to slowly keep the flow during more active sessions. He stood in the room, after connecting the speaker properly, and stared at his reflection. A little thinner than he had preferred, but food had been cut back a bit in light of a few installments that had to be purchased. Cameron and Scarlet both stood in the room with him. He wondered if they recognized their reflections or thought it was ‘someone else’. He was really glad they seemed to be fond of the place now. It was their home, too. Especially theirs. He gestured for them to follow him to the next one they had finished setting up.

7 Another room was purple with black lining and some white and gold decorations. There were pink lotus flowers here and there, and running water in the corner. Many larger cushions were in that room as little beds to curl up in. Malii seemed to like napping in there, too. Binaural beats played lightly in the overhead speakers behind soft transient music. This set the overall tranquil tone for both meditation and sleep. Sometimes Riku slept in this room, himself, instead of his bedroom. The nights that got he loneliest made it seem necessary...he was used to living with three other humans and three sentient Malii. Now he was the only ‘person’ with nine non-sentients he had to take care of. It wasn’t too different, since he had always kept to himself, but it still made him feel homesick. Scarlet and Cameron always slept with Riku, though, whether in his room or in this one. Even at the old house they had slept on his bed half the time, if not on the floor next to it. They didn’t quite like it when other Malii that weren’t direct family tried to share their close bond with the human. They didn’t see the others as equally special...

8 Another room was a deep blue with massage tables and a few chairs. Riku would be the masseuse, and in that room his healing pets could do their thing as well. The walls had a thick line of black horizontally across them, with a much thinner line of white underneath it, then an even thiner black again. The last foot of wall on the bottom was the same blue as above. The baseboards were all white. The equipment, chairs, and cabinets were the same soft white as the walls, and the decorations were black and blue. Riku truly didn’t like the thought of touching anyone, but helping them with their stresses did make him happy. He knew Scarlet and Cameron - as well as a handful of other Malii - could do some healing of their own. He looked forward to seeing many ailments come to be cleaned and was excited to see which types his two little angels could learn to expel over time. Eventually he wanted to use this room for Exorcisms and Spiritual Alignments. Node-Cleansing and Friend-Checking was also something he was looking into lately. Nodes seem to alter people’s energy like an addiction, and many animals are known to stay with their owners even after death.

9 Another room had a zen garden down the middle that could easily be stepped over to get to the other side. It was an off-white and richer green themed room with some bonsai trees to fit. The pebble path led from one wall all the way to the other, and could be gone around. It had to be crossed - but again, with very little difficulty. It was only three feet across and had three sections where large, flat, tan rocks made stepping stones to the other side...that is, if jumping or simply stepping over wasn’t desirable. Riku liked to make the leap when he wanted to feel impressive to himself. The other side had a few chairs and mats for people to either relax or do some stretching. Both sides were equally usable, however. Cameron and Scarlet liked to dig through the pebbles in this room. Scarlet wanted to see how deep it went - although it was installed by Riku, so it only went about a foot deep, and did not have any dirt. Cameron simply enjoyed making a mess.....which Riku would eventually have to clean up. It only took three times of those little zen rocks ‘magically’ appearing back in order for Riku to suddenly train the male not to dirty the room like that again.

10 Riku called his two Malii upstairs with him after he had toured his shop. He was really proud of the work they had put in, and was excited to see how much he could help people. He had already opened the doors, so to speak, and had a few customers while they were still setting the rooms up. He led a few classes of meditation and yoga in the purple room, which was the first one available. He really hoped everyone would enjoy the additions now that they were finished! He placed the bell on the front counter from underneath the desk where it waited. Now he felt confident to have it out for people to summon him if needed. He then went up the stairs nearby to where his apartment was. The two Malii followed him and passed through the small kitchen. Cameron sniffed around first to see if there were residual treats or meals scraps, but unfortunately he had already gotten all of them. Scarlet went straight in to the bedroom, where she anticipated Riku was going. To her surprise, he went to the small living room instead and sat on the couch. A book in his hand, he looked around, feeling satisfied with everything around him. Now he can finally rest. His two Malii curled up near his feet and put their heads in their paws and their tails curled around them. Their wings tucked away on their backs and they decided to rest as well.
