Aubrey felt a little hesitant stepping into the shop. He had gone shopping a few times before, but on those occasions he had only been shopping for essentials like groceries or things for his home... He'd never made a big purchase before, like a special potion or a magical item.
... Or a creature.
Mostly it was just because he didn't make enough money to afford it yet. But now that he had a little bit saved up... He swallowed against his nervousness and walked through the door. He could do this! People weren't scary. Aster didn't like them, but that was just because he was anti-social... yeah. Probably.
"H-Hello? I'm, uh, I'm here to buy a... a King of Evergreen, if you have them!" he said.
He was so caught up in declaring his intent that he didn't realize until afterwards that the whole place smelled like cookies. Wait, had he gone to the wrong shop?
"Yes dear, of course I have some. One per person though, they're hard to breed sometimes," Alura told him with a broad smile on her face. She turned and produced a tray full of cookies, smiling cheerfully, "Would you like a cookie, dear?"
Aubrey broke into an unguarded, relieved smile when the shopkeeper answered his question. "Oh, that's good! I wasn't sure I'd be able to find one..." He'd really been hoping that he would be able to raise one himself. There were plenty of other garden creatures out there, and he was sure they would be just as much fun to care for and to watch as they grew, but even so, he'd wanted to see if he could find a King of Evergreen first. They reminded him a little of Drui, and he thought maybe Drui would get along well with one.
"How... How much are they?" he asked, some of the tentativeness returning to his voice. He hoped he had enough, but you could never be sure... Though he was momentarily caught off guard by the mention of cookies. Almost as though on cue, his stomach rumbled, and Aubrey flushed slightly with embarrassment. "Oh, um, well, if you don't mind... I'd love one, actually."
Aubrey listened with slightly bated breath as the shopkeeper listed out the price, then reached for his money pouch and counted out what he had. Forty credits... He could afford it! Again, a relieved smile broke out over his features. "Then..." Carefully, he counted out each credit. He still didn't have much in the way of money, so he wanted to be sure he was giving her the correct amount. Not that he thought she would pocket the difference if he overpaid, but then, he didn't want to offend her by giving her less than she'd asked for by accident either.
It was just under half of all the credits he had, in the end. Still, it would be worth it. When he looked up again to hand over the money, he was handed a small bag of cookies in turn.
"Oh, thank you," he said. "Um, how much are these?" He'd neglected to ask about the price of the cookies themselves.
"Oh don't worry about the cookies love, they're my treat for my customers! A happy customer is all I can ask for," she said, reaching out for payment and to pat him on the hand a little with a smile on her face. She went to the back and brought back a King of the Evergreen and handed the leash over to the young man, "Here you are!"
Aubrey blinked at the shopkeeper as he registered her words. "R-Really? Oh no, I couldn't possibly---" But he was cut off as she laid a hand on his head, and in the end, he couldn't bring himself to protest. He was pretty hungry, and maybe one of his friends at home might like some too.
He felt a little guilty nevertheless, but it wasn't a crime to accept a little kindness once in a while.
That hunger got the best of him, and he ate one of the cookies while she went off into the back of the shop. "Thank you," he said when she returned, taking the leash from the shopkeeper after she had brought out the King of Evergreen. "I'll take good care of him, I promise." He didn't know if she heard that sort of thing a lot from her customers, but he really meant what he said.
"Of course, dear, I hope you have a long and happy bond," Alura said cheerfully, waving at them.
Morgan: No one knows yet. But I did want to make it clear that the jar itself isn't used for lotine husbandry in any way. c:

Twilight-Claw: I'm only assuming that it does something similar like a Fungal Beast that infects a Leaf-scatter. (the one with moss and I think it was a pink flower growing on the head.)

Silver: I'll try it soon and we'll find out!

Silver: I don't think anyone knows yet!
Jun 5, 2020 4:16:05 GMT -6
Darky: What did the 'infection' do again?
Jun 5, 2020 4:14:43 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for this information, its really useful to know! <3
Jun 5, 2020 4:14:30 GMT -6
Morgan: The lolatic doesn't disappear after one use, and can be reused on the same lotine when it is allowed to 'infect' a lotine- to my knowledge.
Jun 5, 2020 1:41:37 GMT -6
Morgan: The only effect/thing that the jar can be used for is to open up into a lolatic. The jar itself has no use in lotine breedings.
Jun 5, 2020 1:39:52 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: and the jar is then gone, if with the creature I am more guessing with this the creature doesn't disappear and it has unlimited use.
Jun 5, 2020 0:17:55 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Something else I am wondering about with the Lotine breeding is whether one would use the jar the Lolatic comes from in the breeding, or actually the creature itself. I'm assuming with it if its the jar, then it gives people only one shot in a breeding,

Twilight-Claw: Then using it in my rps is definitely just for the sake of rp's and not for anything additional.
Jun 5, 2020 0:12:17 GMT -6
Renathan: Fish are unlimited use once bought though. c:
Jun 4, 2020 22:31:17 GMT -6
Renathan: There's no additional effect for adding a fish to a magical berry in a lotine breeding. Magical Berry is kinda it's own thing. Adding a fish for roleplay value shouldn't hurt, but it has no effect when used on a magical berry lotine breeding.
Jun 4, 2020 22:27:14 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: be just for the sake of rp, and perhaps seeing if it might lent a bigger chance to multiple offspring with unique pattern. X3
Jun 4, 2020 15:31:01 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: I think your right on it being unlimited use yeah, although.. *cough* I only found out a couple hours after I started writing that I had yet to buy the fish in question so used the one you could get for free as a replacement, it still was meant to mostly
Jun 4, 2020 15:30:59 GMT -6
Riku: From what I loosely understand about the fish is that it isn't one-use, whereas the berry is. I feel like there wouldn't be any consequence of 'using' the fish...which I'd think just ooc wouldn't be counted for whatever rolls or whatever it is that it uses
Jun 3, 2020 14:14:30 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?
Jun 1, 2020 6:09:21 GMT -6
Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.
Jun 1, 2020 6:02:21 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)
Jun 1, 2020 5:36:49 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: I am still interested in trading it for a green drake.
