Renathan couldn't help but feel nervous as he let Auburn, his beloved familiar, down from his shoulder and told her to stay on the windowsill of the building while he went in. It wouldn't be too far away, of course, and that wasn't even what he was nervous about. What he was nervous about was that he had a practically huge amount of pocketpets to sell today, and he felt bad that he never really saw many people out at Piko's. He wondered if he was the only one doing this, or if anyone bought pocketpets anymore. He dragged his little red wagon in, filled to the brim with the little beastlings, and then waved to the shopkeeper as soon as he saw them. "Hello there, I've got another bunch of exotic pocketpets from the mansion today, if you'd like to check them out." He always felt a little odd doing this, but hey, he didn't collect pocketpets or anything like that.
"Oh, even more?" Sara asked with a beaming smile as she trotted over, appearing no less excited for this batch than she had for the last ones. "Boy, you must stay busy to find so many critters!" she marveled for a moment, before seeming to remember there was business to take place. "Can I see all the little guys you brought for me, then?"
Renathan did not, in fact, have the heart to tell her that while some of these were in fact found by himself, not all of them were. In fact, he'd gotten to where he bought the ones that the kid was done 'testing' (as in, figuring out what they are and what they do, not necessarily testing 'on') with to bring out to here, since he felt like this was more humane than simply tossing them back out on the street, which was what the kid was probably going to do with them. Pocket pets were alive, in fact, even if they weren't, ah, smart or probably feeling to be honest. Instead, he nodded at her. "Certainly, and sure! See..." He trailed off sitting the handle down and moving over to some of the individuals there. "We've got rune beasts, little troll things, two crows, ghouls aplenty, some bitey-shrooms, something that sorta looks like a sentient spleen... Well, a few of them. One single pumpkin-headed thing, a couple of carvers, another strange... Ghoul thing, and even some differently colored werewolves! Ah, and a single syrup... Beast." Renathan trailed off a bit there too, feeling odd about not knowing really what half of these things even... Were? No matter, they were here to sell.
"Ooh, people are really gonna love these for Vai Min Mur!" Sara exclaimed, clapping her hands together in excitement. It was a great time of year for people to want to buy some creepy critters! The teeny howlers were indeed a lot cuter than some other... things brought to her (she didn't really want to touch the spleens) but the girl would buy any pocket pets after all. "Lets see, these guys are from the scary mansion, huh? I can give you a thousand and forty credits for all of them, if that's okay!" It was worth for people who were willing to go to that spooky place!
Renathan grinned at her enthusiasm. He wished that he was one of those individuals that collected pocketpets, but alas, he had a small few that had been gifts, and not many more. Of course he also had Margeaux, but she had been a stray that took a liking to his shop. She always looked gravid, but he could never find the kits! "Most are from Vai-Min-Mur's mansion, but some were from september's, namely the trolls and crows." He specified, making sure that it wouldn't change the price. "If that doesn't change the price, I'd be more than happy to sell them for that amount!" He said. "I'll also help you put them away if you would like." He always brought them stacked in clear containers, to make them easier to handle, and sometimes she seemed to like his help, while sometimes she didn't seem to need it.
"Oh yes, they're great all the same!" Sara gladly counted out the credits to hand off to him, happy to have something seasonal to sell; even the ones from last month were lovely! "Well, sure! I don't really need help... but the company is always nice!" she chimed, going about sorting the nicely contained critters. The shop had been a little lonely as of late, it would be nice to have someone hanging around some.
