They had just finished a quest last week, and there was another they were considering, but still Riku figured he’d check the board again. He and the spirit his amulet we walking home from another store they had gone to explore, and since ‘home’ was now in the heart of the city, the Quest Center was on the way. “There’s nothing new...” he said, having already taken the address for the Rakai-Sarane that needed help. He reached up and slid his down down the short downy fur of his familiar, looking over to the building nearby. “You know, we haven’t window-shopped there yet. Should we go check it out?” The creature’s long-feathered wings drooped down behind them both, flicking occasionally. He pushed himself into the pressure of Riku’s hand as it pet him. “Well, we’ve built up some quest points, I’m sure. It wouldn’t hurt to see what they’ve got.” Kioume replied through the ribbon.

Jolyne drummed her fingers across the front desk, and then huffed whenever she saw the customer come in. Really? Another one so soon? Ah well, she didn't great him, and just watched him as he came in with the... Whatever that thing was. She hadn't seen one of those before, but she also wasn't the type of person to be impressed, or polite either one. If the person wanted to buy something, then she'd deal with it. Hopefully this one at least knew to bring their QP card. Some folks forget about it often enough.

Entering the building and admiring the neon sign, their eyes glistened and widened in curiosity. So many knick-knacks were spread across the plaid cloths, and the room had some natural light since it was still warm enough outside to keep those heavy drapes open. The shop keeper didn’t seem too happy to see them, but it was no bother. Riku knew what it felt like to not have much extra energy to show towards customers. He wondered if she was the owner or just an employee.
“Oh my...” Kioume slurred, ruffling his feathers and curling into Riku more. “Do you think she knows?”
Reaching up to comfort him, Riku asked “Knows what?”
The spirit had forgotten that Riku could only see three dimensions, and rolled his eyes briefly. “She has The Thing.” He crinkled his nose as he said it.
Thankfully still through the ribbon, Riku replied “What thing...?” She seemed fine to him, and he smiled politely as he walked up to the counter.
“Oh, you guys trade quest points for credits!?” He asked in shock, leaning over to read the notice more clearly. “Yeah, I’m definitely going to be doing that, please - oh, and I’m Riku, by the way.”

Jolyne found it pretty refreshing that the individual didn't immediately pester her. Most folks walked all in, waving their arms around and going 'heya' or 'hello' and 'how are ya doin' and all of that. Pah, she didn't need all that. She needed them to get in, spend their points, and get the heck out. This wasn't her only job, after all. She also had several duties to perform with those that thought it was smart to leave the city... Yeah, most of them weren't ready at all and nearly get killed. Then she has to go get them. She rolled her eyes just thinking about it.
Oh, polite smile. It was the first thing she noticed when she started paying attention again. "Yeah yeah, QP for credits- ya remembered to bring your QP bank card, righ?" She said, her wolfish teeth perhaps a little jarring in the otherwise deerish face. "Whadya mean you guys?" She said. "Jolyne- don't wear it out."
Well wasn't this just pleasant by her typical standards!

Riku had noticed the mammalian spacing out earlier, and her ‘charming’ toothy expressions and realized she might just be someone who wasn’t very interested in people. Still, he didn’t think he needed to fear her exactly...? She was a ‘professional’ employee, after all. He didn’t think it would be good for business to attack the guests, and he figured she knew that. Or rather, he hoped.
Kioume watched her intently, keeping his distance even when Riku - his perch - moved forward to greet the woman. His eyes were fixed in another dimension, on something ‘beyond’ her. He wasn’t afraid, just distinctly disturbed by the ‘sight’.
“Q...P......card?” Riku questioned, slowly standing back upright and putting his hands on his lower back to lean on. He laughed uncomfortably and bounced one foot slightly as a sort of tic. “Aren’t my points in a book or system somewhere? I have my ID to prove it’s really me.” he offered as an alternative.

She shook her head at the customer. Most folks didn't remember theirs, they're given out at the start, to help people out. She partnered with the Quest Point bank to be able to run this, after all. "I don't have access to any of that. Just runnin' a shop 'ere to let people that do 'good' works to be able to get something to show for it." Then she drummed her fingers on the desk for a moment. "Didya never receive one? We've got a few here, but it would make your old one stop working to get it signed up, and it takes WAAAY Too long. Real annoying." She huffed, pulling one out, and putting her hand out for his information. "We'll getcha fixe up, but dun' do it again."

Riku cringed as the mammalian woman showed her frustration - not that he was innocent. He slightly stepped back with her raised tone but knew there was nothing he could do. Clearly he’d messed up somewhere...although he didn’t know where.
When she paused to think and drum her fingers, Kioume cocked his head to one side and then seemed to follow something with his eyes - something Riku didn’t notice. “That’s obscene.” He scoffed, looking around to see if anyone else there had seen it. Of course, the beings he was sharing the experience would could also not be seen in that dimension.
“Oh wow, thanks.” the human said while reaching into his right pocket to grab a leather wallet. Picking out his ID he caught the corner of another rectangle and pulled it out. “Yeah, see, all I got was this business card for the questing board when it first opened.” he said, flashing the plastic card to show her.

The mammalian held her tongue (not without difficulty) and then thought for a moment. Everyone else that had ever come in here brought their bank card when they were asked about it, rolling with the punches. Ah, well. No need to snark, she thought, this person might, maybe, possible couldn't have brought their bank card, or maybe they were never given one. That made no sense, but oh well.
She loaded everything out immediately and handed him the bank card. "There ya go." Was all she said. Hopefully there won't be many more folks that forgot (or 'never got') their card. She wasn't really hired here after all; this was something she did to get people to take on all the difficult jobs that the labs needed done (everyone always needed something to do good after all) and her real job, after all, was going and getting people that Didn't Roll with the Punches.
No need to snark at everyone, she thought, when we're doing a good thing here by getting all of the odd jobs of the city done for folks that need the help. Plus, it will keep most of the ones that shouldn't be trying to go outside of the labs, inside the labs busy.
So that she didn't have to get the ones that weren't prepared all the time.

With the card being given so quickly, Riku uncomfortably accepted it. “Thanks.” he said, going to put in his wallet and then remembering he was about to use it. “I won’t lose it this time - not that I lost it the first time!” he squabbled, then sighed with an attempt at a charming grin. “Well, maybe I did. I don’t really know...heh?”
He awkwardly reached back to scratch under the jawline of his familiar as another sort of tic. (Those were becoming more common...) Kioume accepted the affection, even if it wasn’t a true intention. Massages were always great in this realm. He closed his eyes, trying not to think about the thing that was bothering him. “I’m tuning you out.” He thought aloud, sternly, and Riku could ‘hear’ that it wasn’t directed towards him. However, the boy was interacting with another humanoid, so he couldn’t get into whatever his spirit was going through.
“I almost forgot, can I use five of my point exchanged as credits, please? Oh, or did you already do that?” He looked at the card inquisitively, as so check for a number somehow printed.
OOC: Also buying the 20 levels, but I assume that’s not really an IC thing. ;) Especially since IC’ly that creature will simply meet Riku while already experienced.

She sat there, drumming her fingers for a moment; and waited. She knew that eventually this individual would finish telling them what they wanted. "Yes, yes, let me get you fixed up." At that, she reached out and grabbed the card (unless he absolutely just did not want it grabbed- in which case he probably could have grabbed it back). Whichever way it winds up happening, the points get swapped for credits, and the card is returned.
She was so ready to get back to her alone time.

(You are also now okay to use those levels on the creature you listed above- they are noted down as being for such). Your QP is being deducted from the bank and your credits will be put in the shop transfers.)
