Fiera pushed through the bushes and trees back toward the main path. Icarus would likely have a tougher time getting through the brush than her- maybe he would stick to the beaten trails. At the very least, they were a good place to start. As she finally pushed through the last of the trees, she stepped back on the gravel path... and came face to face with a pachee, brightly colored with gently fluttering wings. Oh. Now THAT was new. She slowly crouched down, not wanting to scare it. She had worked with plenty of pachee before... and this DEFINITELY wasn't one of hers. After all, she didn't keep hers here. She reached out one hand for it to sniff. Pachee didn't have mouths, but they did have decent senses of smell, and they were quite curious critters. Maybe she could lure it over and get it to trust her if she was careful.

He stumbled backwards a little as he landed on the ground and covered his eyes with his forepaws. This was so scary! She looked kind of scary, but that was just because she was new to him, he supposed. Still though, part of him wanted to run, but a greater part of him was more curious, and he peered through his paws and stared at her for a moment or two before sniffing the air.

Fiera couldn't help but smile a bit at the little critter's antics. "Yeah, that's it. Come here, it's fine." Fiera said quietly, trying to seem as nonthreatening as possible. This pachee was so pretty, it reminded her of a flower... or perhaps, one of the creatures that fed on flowers. To test that theory out, Fiera quickly nabbed one of the flowers she had plucked from her garden out of her bag and offered it to the creature slowly. Perhaps if she smelled scary, her holding out something that it found comforting would work out a little better. "That's it, little buddy." She said calmly, trying to stay as still as possible. She didn't want to lose TWO pets today after all- she had to focus on one thing at a time here. The pachee was right in front of her, so she might as well work on that one first.

He tilted his head this way and that before he reached out to quickly snatch the flower, but he wasn't quite strong enough to nab it from her hand. Slowly, roots extended from his paws as he stared into her eyes, not missing a beat as he slowly absorbed the nutrients, hoping she wouldn't attack him now that he was close.

Fiera was happy to see him accept the flower, and let go of it so he could have it properly. She watched happily as the pachee started feeding on it, extending its roots into the flower to absorb its nutrients. It was definitely a strange way to eat, but Fiera had long since gotten used to it. She even found it cute by this point, and was more than happy to just watch him eat. When he looked up at her, she only blinked slowly in an attempt to get him to trust her. After a few minutes, the humanish decided to give making friends with the pachee a second try. Slowly and carefully, she reached out to try and pet his head. Not too fast- he could back away if he wanted to- but she tried to give him a pet, to see if he was willing to accept physical affection.

He flinched, but just for a moment, and then realized he liked the pat on his head. He stared at her for a moment, big eyes round and wide, but then he leaned into her hand a little and rubbed his head against it, much like a feline would. If he had the ability to purr, he would be, he decided he liked her, and as long as she had some good flowers for him, he might stick around.
For a little while.

Fiera couldn't help but grin as the hummingbird patterned pachee nuzzled into her hand. It was such a sweet little creature, now wasn't it? She stayed like that for a moment, just stroking it before she stood up again. She could work on taking the pachee home later- she doubted that it was going anywhere for now. After all, there was so much here for it to eat, and she had to do... something. What was... Icarus! Oh god, how could she have forgotten? He was probably clear across the garden by now, if he hadn't just escaped outright. And she had wasted so much time playing a pachee! Granted, it was a very pretty pachee, but she could always come back to him. She had much, much more important things to do right now. She whirled around, looking for any indicator as to where the young harachiu could have gone.

Fiera hissed slightly and stormed toward the front gate- they had come in that way, maybe he had tried to get out the same way as well. They were still pretty close to it, so it didn't take Fiera long to close the gap. Unfortunately, there was no Icarus... but there was a clue. Fiera's white picket fence was no longer as immaculate as before, and there was a large rock in front of it, with streaks of white paint on it. It looked like the harachiu had tried to use it to bash open the front gate and failed, having abandoned the rock once he realized it wasn't going to work. Fiera could have caught him in the act- probably would have heard the bangs! If she hadn't been playing with that feral pachee. She kicked herself, mentally at least, for having gotten distracted. Still, at least she knew by this point that he hadn't escaped yet.

A strange little fossil and a sprig of lavender stand out among the rest of the flowers.

She looked to either side, trying to get an idea of where he went. Sure enough, the grass on her left side had been slightly bent, while the grass on the other side was pristine. He had to have gone that way, and Fiera wasted no time in following her harachiu. She stayed quiet though, not wanting to tip him off. Hopefully he hadn't gotten too far. She kept her ears pricked and held her tail straight out behind her, not letting it touch the foliage as she passed the treeline again. It was hard to avoid touching things like this, but Fiera had years of experience in moving quietly, that was for sure. More than Icarus, at the very least. Her footsteps were light but quick, and her eyes had narrowed to slits to see better in the shade of the trees. She didn't have a particularly good sense of smell, but she didn't think she'd need it.

As she climbed through the underbrush, she suddenly saw a flash of red ahead of her, so she sunk back. Sure enough as she crept forward she saw Icarus clinging to the side of a tree, attempting to shuffle up its side. She glanced up- it had a major branch extending out over the fence. If he got up and walked out, he could just drop off the side and be gone. Well, Fiera wasn't about to let that happen. She crept forward, as quiet as possible though that wasn't entirely possible for someone her size. Icarus looked around wildly, hearing the noise from somewhere. To Fiera's relief, the surprise was enough for him to lose grip. He squeaked loudly as he slid down the tree, falling right on his butt as he hit the ground. He rubbed his back indignantly, but still looked around frantically as he tried to figure out where the sound came from.

Fiera didn't waste any time, and launched from the bushes, right at him. She managed to pounce on the harachiu and roll once before stopping, with Icarus beating his tiny fists on her and screeching indignantly. Fiera didn't let go though, but did hold him away from her face so he didn't try to claw her face off. "Come ON dude. I'm not trying to kill you. Just cut it out." She groaned, marching back to the path. "You'll like this, I promise." She said, tucking the angry fairy under her arm. He crossed his arms furiously and looked off in the distance, clearly mad about having been caught. Fiera could only roll her eyes, though. He was still young- she supposed he had the right to be a bit miserable about it all. Every teenager had their 'angsty' phase, though Fiera wasn't sure how old a harachiu had to be to be in that phase.

Still, she was glad that she had managed to catch him in time. She could only imagine what sort of trouble he'd get into if she wasn't there supervising. He'd probably get himself killed to be honest- she was a lot like him at that age, after all. When they got back to the main path, Fiera scooped up her backpack again, slinging it over her back. "Now, are you going to be good?" Fiera said, loosening her grip on Icarus a bit. He glared at her, but didn't move at all. She shrugged, and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. "Alrighty then. Setting you down now." She said, lowering him down to the path before pointing further down it. "We're going this way, alright?" She said, and made a single step in that direction. Of course, Icarus was immediately off like a shot in the opposite direction.

Fiera was ready for it though, and snatched him up off the path again before he could get too far, gripping him by the back of his shirt. He screeched angrily again and tried to wiggle out of the item of clothing, but Fiera caught the rest of his body again before he could get it off. "Right then. Not letting you out of my sight again." Fiera said wearily, and tucked him in front of her again. She was glad that she already had long sleeves and gardening gloves on because this harachiu seemed determine to claw through her clothing and rip off her skin. Other than that though, the walk further into the garden was relatively uneventful, the fluttering of butterflies being interrupted every so often by the screaming of what Icarus probably thought were expletives. Still, it didn't take too long for Fiera to arrive at where she had been intending to go this whole time.
