That was as worrying as it was a little reassuring. Morgan was sure that there was something that was up ahead, and it probably wasn't good. Morgan put their hand down as far as they could, and patted Nico on his head on the top of his ears before Morgan immediately grabbed the grip of their fireworks gun. Whatever was going to happen, Morgan was going to be prepared, and hopefully Nico would pull his own- COULD pull his own, now that his training was nearly completed. Only a few more strategies were in need of training... Morgan still wished that Nico was entirely ready, for his own sake.
The human walked and as they did, with Nico following behind, the foggy walls were coming closer and closer; until Morgan could feel cold against their very skin. Nico shivered at their side... And finally, they were right up to begin walking into what they could tell was a brightly lit room.

The room was so bright that Morgan could not at all see what was inside of it, but they knew that they couldn't stay in the eldritch tunnel forever. Still, they did not at all see a reason to move forward without looking inside first. The houluh stood practically on top of Morgan's boot as Morgan leaned forward to glance inside of the room, hoping the darkness would make it harder to see them, but suddenly they heard a noise. Morgan turned their head around, whipping quickly, and saw that all the little shiny sparkles and the dark fog was no longer what it had been before. The black fog had become a mass of writhing tentacles with fangs, and the lights had become thousands of red eyes, all with slitted pupils. Morgan was stunned into silence for a half of a heartbeat and then reached down to grab the houluh without thinking.

The houluh hadn't even noticed at first, but once he was slung on top of Morgan's shoulder, he could see one of the tentacles coming towards Morgan with a snappish motion. Quicker than a wink, the houluh snapped out at it, his teeth clicking together as he did so through the tentacle, severing it. They were thin things, but frighteningly fast. Glass Canons. Morgan didn't even have time to think as they pushed forward and crossed that barrier into the light, a few footsteps away from them at a running gallop. Luckily, neither of the pair had been hurt, though Nico seemed a little dazed by the fact that he had no idea where the tentacle had went and why it wasn't currently in his mouth. The pair finally stood, Morgan breathing heavily from the quick movement and sprint, and glanced around as their eyes adjusted to the intense light from the deep darkness they had just been within.

It became pretty apparent to Morgan that for whatever reason and thankfully, the tentacles could not get into the room. Morgan frowned and furrowed their brows as they looked at the doorway from the middle of the room, safe. Morgan realized that they were still holding Nico, and plopped him down on the ground gently. "You okay, little buddy?" It looked like... That wasn't- Oh thank goodness. It wasn't blood, just some kind of inky blackness dripping from his mouth. "Goodness, we'll get you some w-water-" Morgan turned around, and saw a strange table in the middle of the room. The rest of the room was perfectly empty. There were three items sitting on it; one a book, one a jeweled container or something, and one a dusty looking bag. Morgan walked to the table, sure that this must have something to do with it. They had to make a decision, right?

Morgan wasn't about to overthink this, not after being forced into all of this like they just had been. Nico was needing to have his mouth cleaned out, and they had just run from a crap ton of... Tentacle... Eye things. Anyway, Morgan was not about to stick around for any longer than they had to. The human grabs the nearest object on the table, the book, and then turned around like they were going to leave, even calling for Nico; and suddenly, they were back. Morgan was holding this dusty old nasty book with and eye on it and tentacles. Gross, they wouldn't have grabbed it had they known that... 'Ah, you got it!' The individual was saying. Morgan turned up there nose at him and offered out the book. He looks over it and reaches out for it. 'You're the first person that has actually gotten the right thing, either brave or stupid- tsk tsk.'It occurred to Morgan that this was some kind of social experiment, by some kind of... Weird person, with powers or some crap. It also occurred to Morgan that most people wouldn't have picked the book if they'd actually looked at it, with the teeth and tentacles and eyes and stuff. Well, good thing that Morgan wasn't paying true attention? Morgan could have practically hit him! Thankfully, Nico held Morgan's hand down with his teeth gently. [20]
