Renathan wasn't a control freak by any means, but he didn't like not knowing where he was. He disliked being in dangerous situations without some kind of knowledge about what needed to be done to take care of him and his. He also didn't really like being in the dark, but he spent a whole ton of his time in the mines so he wasn't too out of his element to be stuck here. In case of a pinch, he could also use his magic, but for now his eyes were quickly adjusting to the darkness. "Just where did that weirdo..." Renathan began to ask, but he noticed that his voice echoed loudly. Oh, that was not good, Renathan thought. Who knows how far that carried? He couldn't accurately figure out how far that carried by the echoes either so Renathan simply took the lead in his hands to lead Flaik the best he could.

Renathan could tell when he was out of options, and he was certainly out of options right now. The best thing he could do was lead Flaik wherever they were going and just pick a direction. He picked one of the two directions, and started his walk. He still had at least eighteen hours before he had to get back to Auburn, at least to his knowledge, so he should be fine in that area at least. He wondered if it wouldn't have been better to have brought Auburn instead of Flaik due to this sort of thing. The wall was chalky, and the sound made Renathan's ears hurt, while the dusty wall made Renathan not want to touch it. Instead he walked alongside it, not fearing anything that was along the way. Flaik on the other hand was obviously incredibly scared and nervous, and didn't particularly trust Renathan yet. Thankfully, there was a soft light ahead of them.

That soft light, Renathan knew, was the only thing keeping poor Flaik from freaking out and trying to run off; not that she would be able to get far thanks to the lead. Renathan was pretty careful with her anyway. She was an orbaru cross after all, and that made for an ultra gentle beast. Thankfully, she was a little more laid back than most of his more frail creatures. Renathan did not dare speak for fear of his voice carrying, but the light was getting closer and closer. He didn't really have time to try to plan, and he was sure that with the light the way it was, he would at least have a little bit of an advantage. Hopefully he would see whoever was in there way before they would be able to see him. However, it was impossible for him to avoid what happened next; the walls started closing in.

Renathan wasn't claustrophobic, but one would have to be pretty reckless not to be afraid of the literal walls pushing in towards one another. For one; walls DO NOT do that. For two, Renathan just knew that they could be easily crushed between them. Flaik stiff-legged it, refusing to move due to fear, and Renathan wasn't sure what to do to get her to move ahead. Renathan was going to have to give up his advantage, but it would be worth it to not be crushed. "GO FLAIK GO!" He hollered, hoping to frighten her, and then he smacked her on the back gently but loudly to get her to move. That did the trick, and she took off Running, with Renathan running right behind her. They made a bee-line for that light, finally skidding into the lit room. Renathan had no idea what they were going to find in there, and he was not prepared.

Now that they were in the room, Renathan had to get ready to fight. He half expected it, so he made sure that he had his magic ready to use, though he didn't jump the gun and try it just in case he might hurt Flaik. He was more than pleased whenever he found the room empty... Though it was obviously a dead end. Renathan had no idea what was going on, and it frightened him. But instead of being frozen in fear, it really just angered him. Flaik was mostly ignoring Renathan now that she felt safe, and was staring instead at something at the back of the room. It appeared to be some sort of an altar space, though it was obviously covered in dust. Something caught Renathan's eye; some sort of offering. It was a small bell, mostly nondescript. Renathan reaches out to investigate it, and the second he touched it they were both sent back to whence they came...
It would seem that a certain strange entity was pleased enough with Renathan's choice, but Renathan was really just frustrated and confused. Hopefully this was worth it...
