Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

With the invitation letter saying the next one is going to happen today, they prepared themselves to go early to the pit. Perhaps too early when even after Envix has been checked over at the medical bay in order to be allowed to fight, their opponents haven’t arrived yet.
She bites her lower lip slightly as she looks down into the sand area that serves as the pit from her high up position on the bleachers while Envix roams the area down below, seemingly investigating every dark stain on the sand or bleachers that might not have been there before.
‘I wonder how everything will go this time’ And if you follow what I think is best to use as a strategy, she thinks but doesn’t say to Envix.
In a way, she has to admit that the last fight went great, but she wasn’t certain what exactly was happening at the time either. Envix just seemingly shifted her mood from wanting to fight, to something else. Something that is more than just expressing joy if she read the body language correctly. And then after the fight becoming melancholy as she had watched the strange creature for a while.
She only got to sway Envix away from the area after telling her that the staff will make sure her opponent will be fine, and no permanent harm has been done. They’ll make sure of it.
Gripping the railing of the bleachers, she wonders what it will be this time that they are going to face. Hopefully it will be against one who could lift Envix mood up a little at least.
Looking away from the rusted spot she is sure would no doubt be old blood. She tilts her head towards Twilight’s direction at hearing those words, it is something she is wondering about as well.
The last fight was exciting to her, the bantering with someone, a stranger, being more the highlight of the whole tournament compared to the fight itself. She doesn’t have much of an opportunity to talk with someone else besides those of kin, and thanks to her scarf Twilight and Claw. It felt refreshing, winning or losing the match didn’t much matter to her in that moment. Only the experience she would have gained from it is what mattered to her the most in order to prove herself.
She’s glad though that with Twilight saying her opponent being fine in the end, that she hasn’t caused any permanent harm towards him.
She doesn’t doubt for a second that the chances of something like that happening, would most certainly diminish any chance of meeting him again one day. Even if she hasn’t caught his name yet, she’s certain that his shape and scale tints are recognizable enough to find from within a crowd.
What she’d say to him she doesn’t know, but she does know she is curious to know if at the end of it he’d feel like he accomplished his goal, one so similar like hers its almost earie.. Or perhaps ironic?
‘We’ll fight.’ She says in the end towards Twilight, as that obviously is the most common thing that is going to happen. It is what she’d signed up for.
Still, in a way she hopes her next opponent would be capable of telepathically connecting towards her too.
She can’t help but long to talk to others.

Their last battle had ended in the whiptail being blasted by another gust of wind from a winged creature. It seemed to be a common strategy, and perhaps it had been a mistake to enter something that didn't fly. There wasn't anything to be done about that now, Jumanji couldn't suddenly grow a pair of wings, and Nerius was stuck with what he had. At least this time their opponent didn't have wings, or at least, proper ones. A shadow lurker, having one of his own, he recognized the glowing eyes, and almost liquid way the shadows moved. That was.. probably worse than something that flew, honestly. Jumanji's teeth would do nothing against the creature, and though she could still spit acid at it, there was no telling how the whiptail would react to something that was obviously not a prey item. And as the vinesnatcher was released into the Pit, she didn't immediatly react. She could tell it was there, yes, but lacked the impulse to attack it as food. Well, whiptails weren't the smartest creature, and if the shadow lurker was hoping for conversation, she'd be disappointed.

Jumanji really didn't seem to know what to do with the shadow lurker, it wasn't food, but it wasn't something she regarded as a predator. It was however, unnerving, and the whiptail was abnormally jumpy. She'd take a few steps toward the creature, then twitch as some of its shadowy tendrils wiggled, then take an awkward step back.
Nerius had never seen Jumanji behave like that, though in a way it was nice to know there were some things she wouldn't reflexively try to bite. Of course, this was about the worst possible time for that to be the case, but she had been trained. It wasn't like dumping a brown drake sarane in the Pit and hoping for the best.
"Jumanji, spit!" he commanded the creature. Her teeth would do nothing against a shadow lurker, and she didn't look like she wanted to get that close anyway. Nerius wasn't sure the attack would even land, she was moving so strangely, but the shadow lurker didn't seem to be doing much but wiggling. It was worth a shot, and when the command was given, the vinesnatcher spat a glob of acid in the shadow lurker's direction.

She blinks in surprise at seeing something green enter the pit, she would almost say it is a snake if the one thing that snakes don’t have, this one got it.
Legs..
‘What may that be?’ She asks through the mental link to Twilight, she’s certainly hasn’t seen that one before, and its build seems rather awkward to move in when it only has two legs to stand on, and a very long tail.
Long enough that its movements should be more impaired then it seems to be acting.
‘It seems that’s a Whiptail Vinesnatcher, I’ve got two adults just like that one in the garden.’ The comment seems almost idle as this Whiptail notices her appearance.
She hadn’t ever seen one before so she isn’t sure if the other is either appropriately terrified of her appearance, or just doesn’t seem to know what they should do against her.
She is quite frankly not sure either.
‘Can they talk through a mind connection?’ She decides to ask tentatively towards Twilight as she ‘swims’ slowly around her opponent, unsure what she should do.
‘No, not naturally. And those who do, likely would never see the inside of the pit.’ She hears her say firmly. She wonders why those who do has such a small chance, but she isn’t questioning it any further for now. Her attention more fixed on what her opponent might decide to do.
‘I’ll leave it up to you to decide how you want to fight against the Whiptail Envix, last time went really well.’ Well, that’s a surprise, she’s almost used to Twilight giving her advise on what to do at the first strike, but in that case.
She might as well see what this one would do if she does this!
Rising up from the ground she spreads her wings and makes then as large as possible as she forms in a quick motion a mouth to snap in the Whiptail’s direction.

She blinks as she sees the Whiptail freeze up, for some reason she had thought her warning would have been ignored like her last opponent had done.
And the lack of anything that feels like going after her mind is a rather large hint in that Twilight is correct on them not being able to talk telepathically, at least this one doesn’t seem like it?
Should she give this one another chance to see if they would?
She shakes her head, her form twisting as she dives in the ground again and rises up in smooth motions as she starts circling around the Whiptail again.
This, this is likely what one would call arrogance, however much the thought is tempting to do it and test her opponent’s mettle while she is more passively fighting, she has to remind herself she came here to this tournament with a goal in mind.
To test her own strength, and see just how far she could make it in a fight.
To gain more experience in how things are done in life threatening situations.
And gain a better understanding of herself.
If she keeps fighting passively, she’ll hardly learn anything, and likely if her opponent cares for such a thing, demeans her opponent.
Rising up from the ground she makes her wings smaller, using the extra shadows from it to form her clawed hands, its time to strike.
Its time to end this.
She lunges.

As the shadow lurker rose up and snapped it startled the whiptail, interrupting her attack, resulting in drips of acid leaking out of her jaws, rather than being launched at the lurker. It had managed to scare her, but a scared whiptail was an aggressive whiptail. And she didn't like the way the shadow continued to circle her, and she snarled at the lurker, bits of acid spattering to the sands in the process.
While Nerius wasn't pleased with the shadow lurker's effect, he wasn't surprised either. Some sort of disorienting display, be it sound or sudden movement, was a common start to pit fights. It had disrupted her first attempt at an attack, but there wasn't anything to do but try it again. "Spit," he gave the command again, though the shadow lurker was moving more quickly now, and somehow he doubted Jumanji would be actually get an attack in. Still, the whiptail did her best, and drew up a mouthful of acid to spit at the shadow lurker.

Calculations
-Envix uses Ethereal Claw --A d10 is rolled; 9 is rolled. Ethereal Claw will do the most damage possible. Envix 9 Mentality + 1 Ethereal Claw Damage = 10 10 - Jumanji's Mentality of 0 = 10 Damage Jumanji's Stamina of 3 - 10 = -7 Remaining Stamina for Jumanji
Jumanji takes a major hit from the ethereal claw, and is down for the count. Immediately the pit healers run out to attend to the combatants.
Results
Twilight Claw receives 3 pit prize points and Envix gains 2 levels for winning. Nerius receives 1 pit prize point and Jumanji gains 1 level for losing.
